Les pédés ont enlevé mon smiley préféré!!! Le w00t!!! Pourquoiiiiiiii! Les gens en abusent trop!? Face d'excitation pervert?

MDR. Trop con! =P

I don't think french is a romantic language as many people told me ^^' but it is quite a difficult language.

I have my oral exam in a few weeks. I'm not sure what to do. French class at school is too slack, so I really don't know that much =( I think, they ask you if there's a topic you want to talk about, like a speech, then it'll be like an interview. Would anybody be willing to help or suggest ideas or something? I was thinking of doing dangers of internet since I'll know a lot about it and it'll be easier to remember what I want to say

I'd do it on a person. I find it much easier to use describe and talk about someone in french then have a subject.

btw, you guys take french in high school in Aus? By choice or what?

Anyone have a french language dictionary add-on for firefox?

I'm glad I have a basic grasp on french, hopefully I can travel to France one day.

^ i don't have any D= My trademark in my school oral assessments is hating everything, having no friends and no life hahaah

whiteguy: Umm..it depends. At least in my state, most schools will have a language class, or a few choices. In year 8-10, its compulsory to do one, then in the final two years, you can choose.

I seriously shouldn't have quit going to Alliance Francaise T__________T

(I guess if we start writing more French, you guys can read more of it and get better loll)

Heh...i shall join the French-speaking community here, haha. Third year of learning French in school for me. >.> My 1st year teacher was awesome, and I learned a lot from her....my 2nd year teacher was anything but good, and this year, my French teacher was born and raised in Paris to a French family, and speaks French so fast. o_O Bleh....half the time I can't do the hw because I can't understand the teacher. D:

Lol, most of the time everyone's saying "Je ne sais pas" and "Je ne comprend pas"....it seems like the hole in French 2 is killing all my classmates this year. probably the only useful thing we learned last year was "can i go to the bathroom please?" haha.

but really, reading everyone's French posts in here is making me understand French more, and reading it faster while understanding it's meaning. now...if only we could talk to one another, LOL.....i have issues listening. >.> they talk soo fast.....

I'll correct you Raix:

J'ai passé mon examen de Français hier, c'était trop difficile. Surtout la compréhension orale et écrite. Je pense que j'ai échoué.

You know cheri, it's the same for us. We think English people talk really fast and we don't understand what they're saying.

Yay! French community!

I'm from Quebec-Canada and it's my mother-tongue!

It's not necessary to replace un for mon like Pasteques<3 suggested. Both ways are good =3 Don't worry; french past participles are hella complicated (I'm in college and still confused about it so it's normal >.> ... sadly!)

French is my 1st language but I actually think that English is much more easier.

I even prefer English....French is just too complicated.

Bon week end à tous. =)

I'm only a semester in on my French lessons so I don't know much compared to the people here. Anyway, to the person looking for the French dictionary add-on, here's a link: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3066

We're also having our oral exam next week (by pairs); There will be three situations:

A telephone conversation (un dialogue au téléphone?)

Buying a train ticket

A conversation with another passenger on the train

Could someone translate the situations for me, by the way? I'm good with grammar, but I don't have a good vocabulary. I like to learn new words by reading stories and it's hard to come by French (and other foreign language) kiddie books where I live.

NPB-XK, it's not "tap dans le dos à tout le monde" but "Tape dans le dos de tout le monde." ^^

NPB-XK, it's not "tap dans le dos à tout le monde" but "Tape dans le dos de tout le monde." ^^

Hahahahaha!

Either way, I admit the popular mistake there but to be even more strict, the whole "Tap dans le dos" sentence wasn't good in the first place for both of us because that wasn't an order but a description of an act which is a bad mistake in a text if we wanna describe an act in a proper literal way. HEHE!

Ok sorry now I've probably gone too advanced in French over here... :P

what kinds of French informal talk is there? like...i have a feeling most of the French we learn in school is not exactly used all the time by young French people in France. Just like for English, they always teach the formal one, like "I'm going to blablabla" instead of "I'm gonna blablabla"....so to the younger generation is just sounds weird.

^ Je suis d'accord, dans mes cours d'anglais, on apprenait l'heure avec "It is half past three" et, personne ne dit ça! Tout le monde dit : "It's three thirty" Alors, je n'ai jamais compris pourquoi ils essayaient de nous faire apprendre ça!!

XD

Happy birthday Lazy Asian!! ^^

Not "ancien' mais "vieille" xD.

17 is nothing, i'll be 20 the next year. >< ToT
