MelOn Reveals Top 20 Artists and Songs of 2014

In celebration of its 10th anniversary, popular music site MelOn revealed a number of lists comparing how the most-listened-to artists and songs have changed over the past 10 years (2004 to 2014) for both male and female listeners. The top three artists of 2004 for both male and female listeners were revealed to be SG Wannabe, Buzz, and Kim Jong Kook, respectively. The top three songs for females in 2004 were Kim Jong Kook’s “Standstill,” Yoon Do Hyun’s It Must Have Been Love,” and MC Mong’s I Love U, Oh Thank U.” On the other hand, male listeners’ top three songs of 2004 were M to M’s “Three Words,” Kim Jong Kook’s “Standstill,” and Yoon Do Hyun’s “It Must Have Been Love.” The top three artists for both male and female listeners of 2014 were revealed to be IU, Busker Busker, and 2NE1, respectively. The number one song for both males and females was the same: Soyu x Junggigo’s “Some.” For female listeners, the number two and three songs for 2014 were IU’s “Friday” and Taeyang’s “Eyes, Nose, Lips.” For male listeners, Park Hyo Shin’s “Wild Flower” and IU’s “Friday” took the second and third spots.
