Apart from their responsibilities as members of JYJ, the members of the popular boy band have pursued individual activities ranging from films, TV series, theatrical roles and solo albums. In an interview with Bulletin Entertainment, JYJ’s Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu shared some of their solo pursuits.
Jaejoong
Kim Jaejoong launched his first solo mini-album “I,” in January last year and the repackaged version “Y” a month later, which, cumulatively, sold more than 200,000 copies.
“I” zoomed to the No. 1 spot on Korea’s Gaon and Hanteo charts and peaked at No. 2 on Billboard’s World Albums chart.
Jaejoong released his first regular solo album “WWW: Who, When, Why” in October the same year, which topped the iTunes charts in 12 countries even as it also entered the music charts in 34 countries including Europe and Latin America.
“‘I’ was a mini-album. It was a rock album… I put into it the kinds of rock genres that I like, such as hard rock with strong messages, and more lyrical rock ballad. It received rave reviews and so led to my first official album ‘WWW,’” Jaejoong said.
Jaejoong wrote all the lyrics for the songs in “WWW.”
He explained, “Rockers need to internalize the feeling and characteristics of songs and become totally immersed as you sing. So I wanted to write words, if not songs, for myself. ‘WWW’ contains various songs that can be delivered in the genre of rock and the title song is ‘Just Another Girl.’ It’s modern rock.”
Jaejoong had his first solo Asian tour, “Your, My & Mine,” from January to June last year, with stops in South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, China.
The 16,000 tickets to the Seoul concerts sold out immediately, while his three-day Yokohama tour drew 45,000 fans. The whole tour attracted 83,000 fans.
To promote “WWW,” Jaejoong held the “Kim Jaejoong: 1st Album Asia Tour Concert,” in November last year, drawing a total of 110,000 people with stops in South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and China.
“I was extremely happy. Actually, I’ve said this to my fans in Japan, China and Taiwan, that those concerts were the best ones ever in my life, and all of my fans shared the same feelings and happiness through the songs. I could feel their hearts and was really grateful. They gave me a great deal of energy and cheers. It’s regretful that I haven’t had a concert in the Philippines either as JYJ or solo. I hope to meet our fans in the Philippines at an earliest possible date,” he said.
Yoochun
Park Yoochun focused on Korean drama projects for his solo projects, making his drama debut in 2005 via “Rainbow Romance,” followed by “Banjun Theater.”
In 2010, he starred in “Sungkyunkwan Scandal,” which earned him the best new actor award in the KBS Drama Awards and 47th Baeksang Arts Awards. He also won the outstanding Korean actor in the 8th Seoul International Drama Awards for the same.
He went on to star in MBC’s “Miss Ripley” in 2011 with Lee Da Hae; and SBS’ “Rooftop Prince” and “Missing You” in 2012.
Yoochun won the Popularity Award in the TV Sector of the 48th Baeksang Arts Award for “Rooftop Prince,” as with the Popularity Award by Netizen and Attractive Actor Award at the 7th Seoul Drama Awards.
“Missing You” became one of the top 10 most searched TV shows in the Philippines on Google.
Yoochun currently stars as the elite presidential bodyguard Han Tae-kyung in the drama “Three Days,” which started airing last March.
“Han Tae-kyung loses his father to a suspicious accident and starts to dig into mysterious accidents, which lead to a grave conspiracy against the President,” Yoochun related.
“In my previous roles, there were always issues to deal with, as a prince in ‘Rooftop Prince,’ as a detective in ‘Missing You,’ and again as a righteous bodyguard who dares to give his own life to justice in ‘Three Days.’ Particularly, this drama goes like, one event leads to another and reveals a greater conspiracy. I think it is important to express the subtle flow of emotions of Han Tae-kyung as he goes through all that.”
Junsu
Junsu has taken the theater route, making his stage debut in 2010 via “Mozart.” More than selling out about 45,000 tickets in five minutes, the musical earned him the Rookie of the Year Award and the Popularity Award at the 16th Korean Musical Award.
He went on to appear in the musical “Tears in Heaven.” He won the Popularity Star Award at the 5th Musical Awards; the Ticket Power Award in the musical sector of the 2011 Golden Ticket Awards; and the Popularity Star Award in the 17th Korean Musical Award.
His next project was the musical “Elizabeth.” He made history with 32,000 seats reserved ten minutes after the box-office opened. He bagged the Shinhan Card Popularity Star Award at the 6th Musical Awards for the role, as with the Main Actor Award and Popularity Star Award at the 18th Korean Musical Award.
Last year, Junsu starred in “December,” which he described as “a musical made in the form of a juke box.”
“It compiles the songs of the late singer Kim Kwang-suk. He is one of the musicians most beloved by Koreans. In the musical, Yoon Ji-wook is a musical director who cannot forget his first love. I played a young Yoon Ji-wook in his 20s in Act I and then a middle-aged Yoon Ji-wook in his 40s, who still misses his first love in Act II,” he said.
In the last four years, Junsu essayed many different roles in musicals.
He released his first solo album “Tarantallegra” in May 2012, which sold 130,000 copies and landed at 10th place on Billboard’s World Albums chart, first on Japan’s iTunes chart, first on Germany’s Asian Music Chart, and first on Yin Yue Tai Chart, the largest music video site in China.
He embarked on his first world tour in 2012, with stops in Asia, North America, South America and Europe.
Junsu followed up with “Uncommitted,” his English album that sold more than 90,000 copies.
“Performing in a musical gives me a different kind of happiness than what I feel as a singer (as part of) JYJ,” Junsu shared. “In musicals, I play a character and interact with other actors and actresses along the storylines written by the writers and the whole piece of work should be appealing to the audience. As a singer, I only have to tap into my own characteristics, talents and songs, but in musicals, I am just a part of a whole piece. After the show is over, I feel extremely happy and grateful to the audience particularly in the curtain call. I am so much thankful to the audience who always takes an interest in and comes to see my musicals,” Junsu said.

According to CJ E&M and from AGB Nielsen Korea on March 4th, ‘Three Days’ reached the No.1 spot with an index of 274.3 in CPI for the 1st week of March (March 3rd to 9th). It is a first in No.1 records.

Following next is SBS’s ‘God’s Gift – 14 Days’ and MBC’s ‘Empress Ki’.

At 1st wanna say this….Congrats 3 days for became number 1 on my other fav.number , XD….Actually I never care about ratings but its nice get number 1. XD…& LOL…the ratings also has my fav. Number.

My fav scene from this eps, absolutely this one…

ChunNi’s fighting. Cool…..Finally he can use his martial arts skill on his drama. N I’m curios now, from which scene that he got his injury. It was kinda hard to capture the pic, too fast, hehehe….
Lets begin…

CHARACTERS

Han Tae Kyung…

I love the fighting scene, hehhe….n I like that they make TK lost n caught, coz he’s not superhuman that can beat many bodyguard. So, I think its a make sense sence.

Aahhh……he caught at car number 6. For me its from 6002, LOL….and escaped from car number 7.XD….

Ahhh….that’s the expression when we fight…

Poor ChunNi…got slapped scene again.

As always ChunNi’s eyelashes.XD…

This is the time when TK thought, its time for open the handcuffs.

N what an awesome fighting in car scene? Eventhough TK fight like he really “hate” his superior. LOL…I do think that its kinda like his “revenge” for his superior’ acts before to him. XD…But TK still nice that he didnt just “ throw him from the car. XD

Aahhh…its nice that on every ChunNi’s drama on SBS, the dramas always get sponsor from the brand that ChunNi as its endorser. N it all fit with the story. So, the writer doesnt need to write an “unreasonable” scene. The example is like this. IF ChunNi still as Tony Moly’s endorser. Imagine that we will get Tae Kyung use face cream. LOL…..n now its only Mlimited n off course the jacket is a MUST item for TK.

Yoon Bo Won

OMG….Bo Won our heroine, hehe…she came to save or Hero, hehe….I didnt really notice when she came to that place. Only realize it when got her eyes’s shoot. What a brave Bo Won……so, got shock when saw the car suddenly turn right. Is it just a “coincidence” that BW’s car was on the last car? Hehhe…coz I dont think that the car who bring the suspect will be the last car. I think its usually in the middle.

N another thing. I think the “59 – 6513” is BW’s car n I think she left it on the forest coz her car also attacked by the EMP. Maybe after the chat, her chief brought her back to the forest so she can use her car? Btw, how long that the EMP’s effect?

After that she went to the crime scene. Driving her own car. But when she received the info about must go to the train track to help, I think she must went straight away to the location. I dont think she had time to change her car to “21-6172”. I hope I’ll get explanation about that. LOL….

THE RELATIONSHIP

Han Tae Kyung n Yoon Bo Won

OMO…..Bo Won…..I always thought that our couple is runaway couple n on eps.3, they separated for a while. N I wonder how they can meet again. N tada….what kind of name that we should call our couple? Coz they always help each other when they get trouble. XD….

These are the sequence from their 3rd encounter.

I do think TK surprised when see BW there. I think at 1st, from his corner of eye, he felt that he recognize the police. So, he gave that glance. N then he saw her n off course he shouldnt make any reaction that he know her. Then, here we go….TaeBo’s 1st Eye Talk. XD….

TK: “What are U doing here?”
BW: “Calm Down, I’ll help U.” (gave him a nod).

Then BW gave him a key to open the handcuff. N I think when TK felt a key on his hand, his thought was “OMG, this girl really wanna help me”.

N Our couple is on the mission. I really like it. It’s nice that not always the lead male help the lead female. But they can be a partner. Their looks like “ Yes, we can do this”

N WTH…TK……after what BW did to U, U still wanna left her? Aigoo…Its so typical hero? LOL…..”I dont wanna make U hurt, so its better that I left U. Just wait here n safe.”…..and with that expression. Aigoo……but luckily our Bo Won is not that type of girl that always obey. Hehe….I like BW’s expression when she shake her head. Its kinda…”Aiiihhh this man, why U’re underestimate me?”…..

N OMG…..Bo Won….U open the bottle & the egg so TK could directly drink n eat it. Now u put him the jacket. What next? Undress him? LOL…….

TK is so cute when he look at BW n heard BW’s complaint that she actually dont like partnering up with him. N BW’s expression. LOL….

N as always the HERO should make another reason for not accepting her help. TK’s expression is also cute here, LOL…..Its like …”Duhhh…what should I do for make this girl give up?” XD….So, I really like when BW give him the answer with another question.

I also like this scene. BW throw her car’s key. LOL….It’s like this is my final decision so U must obey it. No more complain. XD..

N OFF COURSE…..the close up shoot for this kind of scene is a MUST on every eps. LOL…..Actually for this scene, BW can just said “WAIT” but I think “ACTION” is better than words. XD…..She need to touch TK, XD….

Aaahhh….another Eye Talk. I think I should count it? LOL….

So, this was the 4th Eye Talk from Eps.4. XD….They understanding each other. Love it.

THE CASE

That’s our question…..

Aahhh….so this what happened in 1998. Like we know that a country like SK who has civil war, the suspicion is big for their neighbour. Any kind of action related to NK. It can give the third party can take advantage from that. Like the EMP thingy. Btw, I had a chance to see things similar like on the scene. Some trucks that brought the army back from the border.

And we got another question. What is RECON group?

So, actually it was RECON’s group action?

N ahhh…so, Mr. Pres did that switch wasnt coz he knew about the asassin. I dont think he will that coward to make someone replace him to be murdered. He did that coz dont wanna make Panic Mode coz The Pres is missing. So after he’s done with what he wanna do, he will just back to that place without anyone notice that he’s missing for few hpurs. The number “1007” refer to the place that he can met with the prosecutor. N I think its not the same cheat sheet?

I think he want to explain what exactly happened that year. N off course coz TK’s dad cant give that confidential’98 to Mr. Choi, so he really must do it alone. There was 5 person before but only left 1 person now. I think eventough he cant trust anyone. He still trust some of his Secret Service by command that they must guard him on the train.

But unfortunately there was another plan from the other group to take advantage while Mr. Pres get his 4 days off. So, Mr. Pres’s plan failed. I remember this but didnt have a thought that was actually the key for the missing Pres.

I think its a sad statement from Mr. Pres…”Who recognize me?”…. n actually his guard do the best thing he could. But unfortunately, cant do anything coz its accident. I hope his guard still alive.

N I dont get it for this. From the bus’s schedule we can see the schedule is 20.30, but why they said its 20.10? Faster than the schedule?

N LOL….who was turn on the TV? Who want to watch it coz the patient still non-consciously? XD….

Usually there is “invisible hand” behind the goverment but off course the citizens will not know about it. Unimagine power & respected.

I like that Mr. Pres is so brave, he doesnt scare about the people that he will face but he frightens that he cant reveal what is the truth.

Yes….we know its all lie. Its more easy to make a lie then solve it. And it make the drama 

more interesting. Solve the case.

Ooh, we shall not forget LCY. Yeah….fighting CY, U must fighting for ur own life. Btw, ahhh…its just coincidence that CY found that matches. XD…..So, what will happened to Leader Ham? I think when CoS Shin know about what he did, he will give an order for the Secret Service to arrest him?

THE ENDING

And the pattern for Thurs’s episode ending is 3 person’s face. N I’m looking forward for Han Tae Kyung – Yoon Bo Won – Lee Cha Young as the ending. LOL……

Yoochun tried to defend himself, saying he has rhinitis and if he cries, snot naturally comes out so he has to blow his nose. He said he had also caught a cold.Jang Hyunsung said he had an outdoors scene and it was so cold that he kept doing NG b/c his body was shaking. Yoochun said he receives feedback from the people around him and they all want the script to Three Days. They are all curious about the next development. The filming for the new 2014 Incheon Asian Games promotional video took place on March 7th.  The models of that day were South Korea’s sabre fencer Kim Ji-Yeon along with Goodwill Ambassador marathoner Lee Bong-Ju and JYJ.  The first shoot was scheduled for early in the morning at the Incheon International Airport.  Let’s take a look at the behind-the-scene photos from making of the video.

After a quick lunch break, the production crew moved onto the next filming location, Songdo’s Tri-Bowl, where the new models were waiting.  The main models for this scene was our Goodwill Ambassador JYJ!

JYJ sure does look happy lip-syncing to the official Incheon Asian Games’ song ‘Only One’ as it was blasting through the street.

The busy K-Pop group JYJ held interviews between takes to promote the Incheon Asian Games to the general public. As you can see from the picture, Junsu was holding our mascot, Vichuon, as he was answering the questions regarding the Games.

JYJ smiled and sung to the camera in front of Songdo Tri-Bowl to successfully film their part of the promotional video.

The first day of filming came to a close with the filming of JYJ, Kim Ji-Yeon and Lee Bong-Ju. I’m sure you guys are already excited to see how the video will turn out. Currently starring in SBS’s Three Days, JYJ’s Park Yoo Chun confessed that he has fallen in love with action scenes.

On March 18, Park Yoo Chun attended the press conference for SBS’s Three Days along with the other cast members.

As Three Days is a drama with a large scale and heavy storyline, the reporters asked, “Many of the projects in your filmography are rather heavy and deal with difficult emotions. It’s rare to find an easy-going, lighter drama. Is it because you prefer them?”

Park Yoo Chun answered, “Actually I didn’t know that Three Days was going to be this heavy. But as I began filming, I realized its scale. The more I film, the more I feel glad to have chosen this drama.”

He also added, “Personally, I feel more attracted to the projects that require you to bring out deep emotions and tire out your body, than the ones that are about ordinary love stories that people can laugh about. I especially came to enjoy acting out action scenes from Three Days. It is hard to film them, but I often think ‘action scenes are really fun.’ Up until now, I think I’ve preferred heavier and more serious stories.”

Korean singer Gummy sings a new soundtrack for SBS drama series ‘Three Days’.

Gummy’s agency C-JES Entertainment said, “Gummy releases new ‘Three Days’ soundtrack ‘Calling Me’ today, March 19, at noon. She wrote and composed the song after reading the script, trying to put the characters’ feelings into it. ‘Calling Me’ is a classic ballad filled with sophisticated lyrics and Gummy’s amazing voice full of emotion. ”

Gummy also expressed her excitement during the interview, saying “I enjoy watching ‘Three Days.’ I wanted this song to fully express the feeling of being reassured and thankful that male lead ‘Han Tae Gyung’ felt when he just realized that there was someone who always stood by him. ”

‘Three Days’, starring Park Yoo Chun, Park Ha Sun, So E Hyun, and Son Hyun Joo, depicts a story of bodyguards who try to find and save the President who suddenly disappears. It airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 10:00PM (KST) on SBS.

JYJ’s Park Yoo Chun was recently featured in the latest issue of fashion magazine ‘Singles’, where he was photographed at the film set of his current drama ‘Three Days’, while also revealing his thoughts about filming in the accompanying interview.

On the day of the shoot, Park Yoo Chun was seen constantly in dialogue with director Shin Kyung Soo in front of the monitor, as they reviewed footage that had just been filmed. Shin Kyung Soo praised Park Yoo Chun as an actor who was intelligent, meticulous, adaptable, and creative.

The filming staff also praised Park Yoo Chun for being a honest actor. In the accompanying interview, Park Yoo Chun admitted, “It is really great. I get along well with the staff, and I had a great time filming the drama. It is really cold during filming, and there are many action scenes, so it isn’t really easy for me. But after going through all that, I find myself changing. I always try my very best to be courteous in the past. But I have become more at ease now, and can talk and joke with the staff without any inhibitions.”

The reason for Park Yoo Chun’s transformation, can be attributed to the 4 months that he spent with the filming staff for the filming of his movie ‘Sea Fog’. He said with a smile, “It felt really awkward to have to adhere strictly to all the courtesy and politeness during the filming of the movie. So I felt that I should treat everything as natural as possible instead, instead of forcing the issue. I had meals and drinks with the filming staff in the 4 months of filming, and understood a lot of things.”
