How to reencode it so it becomes bigger?

Hi,

All of sudden my Nero 6 when I add the .avi file (for example - one Korean drama episode), it shows exactly what the file is. This never happend to me before. I read on the tutorial for Nero 6 Express (which I don't think is active anymore) that Nero will reencode it so it becomes bigger - approx 1.5G.

How do I get it to do this? I think that is the problem I'm having. It stopped reencoding to make it bigger.

And also, I have 2 DVD burner, one that came with the computer and one external. Computer automatically reads computer DVD burner. Is there way to make Nero 6 to have my external DVD burner as default?
