‘The Throne’ Has Its Press Showing Session

 

 

 [by Woorim Ahn, photo by Kim Gang Yoo] Movie ‘The Throne’ held its press showing at Megabox COEX in Gangnam, Seoul on September 3. 

‘The Throne’ is about tragic story of King Yeongjo who has to be a king at all times and the Crown Prince Sado, who just wanted to be a son. Song Kang Ho, Yoo Ah In, Moon Keun Young, Jeon Hye Jin, Kim Hae Sook, So Ji Sub (special starring) and others appear in it.

To avoid double posting with the ones on Sado or The Village thread, shouldn't we post only MGY activity/personal activity here?

I see on some actors' thread they only post actor/actress personal activity like photoshoot, going to airport, etc. But the news and articles about movie/drama belongs to related movie/drama thread..

How do you think? Or probably we could define what/whatnot to post here?

Hi there! I for one do not mind reading about her current projects on this thread because, truth to tell, I seldom visit the other threads except when my interest is piqued and in cases where real life concerns take over, I like to get my info in one go, kinda like a one-stop place where I can shop and dine at the same time.

Ryuujin.., thank you, up to the last minute I was holding out hope KJS would be in the drama but I have been to his thread and indeed, there was an article about a web toon is it airing in October, sigh. I enjoyed his work with Geun Young in MMM and it was hard not to ship them together despite an equally combustible pairing with JGS. Even their bts always brought a smile to my face. Awww, MGY always, always emits such chemistry with her leading men it's difficult not to wish that the chemistry translates and extends offscreen.

Moon Geun Young Talks Playing So Ji Sub’s Mother in “Sado”

 

 

Actress Moon Geun Young was recently featured in an interview with KBS 2TV‘s “Entertainment Weekly” during which she talked about her new film “Sado” along with co-stars Song Kang Ho, Jun Hye Jin, and Yoo Ah In.

During the interview, Moon Geun Young opens up about taking on her first role as a mother. “The boy who is playing my son greeted me [when we first met] saying, ‘Hello Mother.’ And I thought, ‘I can’t believe I’m [playing] a mother at this age.’”

When asked about the actor So Ji Sub who will be playing her son as an adult, Moon Geun Young says, “Honestly, I told the director in the beginning that I didn’t want to [work with So Ji Sub].”

She continued, “I wanted to meet So Ji Sub sunbae through a romantic film, so I didn’t want our first meeting to be as his mother. It was a little upsetting.”

Meanwhile, “Sado” is a historical film slated to premiere on September 16.

On the September 5th broadcast of KBS One Night TV Entertainment, the lead actors of Sado (The Throne) movie became the guest stars.

On this day, the host made a quiz game for #SongKangHo-#JeonHyeJin couple vs Yoo Ah In-Moon Geun Young couple. The couples had to answer the quiz unanimously with the same choice to win the game.

At first, both Yoo Ah In and Moon Geun Young picked the same answers for "sweet or sour pork" and "bumeok (pour the sauce and eat) or jjimeok (dip into the sauce and eat)" questions.

However they failed on the next questions, such as "beer or soju" and "work or love". Yoo Ah In answered "love" confidently, but Moon was hesitant and unable to pick her choice.

She said, "These days I just want to work hard," which caused laughter, because then Yoo Ah In stood up and was like, "We're gonna lose the game!"

The last question was "cash or bouquet". Moon made more laugh when she picked "cash" while Yoo Ah In picked "bouquet" as their answer.

On the September 5th broadcast of KBS One Night TV Entertainment, the lead actors of Sado (The Throne) movie became the guest stars.

In the interview, the host asked the actors, what keywords associated with each of them. "From the beginning, Director Lee Jun Ik has singled out Yoo Ah In to play as the Crown Prince Sado. Why so?"

Yoo Ah In replied, "It was a very generous casting from him to me. He said I have a rebellious image. But actually I can behave properly." (laughed)

Moon Geun Young revealed another reason, "Director nim told me that there is a deep story in Yoo Ah In's eyes. So, because of that I wanted to see [his eyes] more too."

Yoo Ah In made silly smile and said, "Okay, I'll buy you delicious meal," and caused laughter on the set.
