Guest dreams_of_forever
For those who don't know, Qiong Yao is a very famous Chinese novelist, who wrote a collection of romantic stories. Her stories epitomized the classical ideal of Chinese beauty as well as the plotline of tragic love between opposite characters. Let's post up pictures of these actresses along with other classical actresses. (Mei Hua Lao) (Princess Returning Pearl) (Tears in Heaven) (Various Qiong Yao Actresses)
Guest catgirlcat
I love Jiang QinQin and Athena Chu in Tears in Heaven! Vicki Zhao and Ruby Lin are my favorites in Princess Returning Pearl and Romance in Rain<33 Most of the Qiong Yao dramas are popular in the early 90's in China so I don't think alot of Soompiers are familiar with it. Guest Swtess
I'd probably know it if there were viet titles provided. The girl under Athena is pretty. I never knew she wrote so many novels.

squishysushi
ahhh! Love auntie Qiongyao. She always picks very good looking girls ^^ All of her female drama leads are so pretty! And of course you can't forget Qing Er! She's my fav. *breaks out HZGG collection xD And Fan Bing Bing! Her acting wasn't that great in Princess of Pearl (she herself even admitted it in an interview) but she's a big star now in China And here are the newer additions to the family, Zhang Zia Ni and Qin Lan from Dreams Link
Guest doremii*
http://www.whatsonxiamen.com/ent_images/1108804.jpg ^ she's the prettiest Qiong Yao lead imo =] I was watching one of her films with my mom the other day..
Guest arandomasian
All of her dramas seem to be set in the Qing dynasty...not really the romantic time in Chinese history. The dramas portray royalties who were Chinese but most of them were actually Manchus in the Qing dynasty. *random*
Guest dreams_of_forever
Aww, thanks for contributing guys!!! I'll add some pictures from an older series (not from Qiong Yao). It's called Wu Ze Tian, the only female empress in Chinese history. There were lots of pretty actresses in this series.

Guest Heartsword
OMG I still LOVE Qiong Yao series. I grew up watching them with my Mom. The most talented of all of the actress is definitely Lau Suet Wah in my book. She practically dominated all of the series in the 80s with Chin Han! Love her sooo much!!!
