Remember the "pleasant surprise" which WG promised the Taiwan fans?

The news reports mention WG is anticipating a return to the island to properly promote the upcoming album.

Hmm, when could this be? They are supposed to do the same in Korea for 2-3 weeks in May.

The early half of June is set aside for the first leg of their US headlining tour.

They then have an empty calendar window until the release of their full American album in July.

Although the site can admit only 700 fans, there were masses crowding the periphery railings & straining to see the svelte Korean stars, causing WONDERGIRLS to exclaim: "Very anxious yet so happy!"

WONDERGIRLS came to Taiwan for promotions on April 21, yet got to make contact with the fans only tonight at CPcity Living Mall's basment 3 Gravity Stadium. Due to limited space, the organizers could let in only 700 fans. Every admitted fan got a number token that was exchangeable for a signed WONDERGIRLS photo. Although the tokens were issued only at 4pm, a lot of fans had started queuing since morning.

A fan, Jenny, said she commuted from Taichung last night for this fan gathering, lodging at a classmate's home & then starting to queue at dawn. She said WONDERGIRLS's dance choreography is classic & the title song 'Nobody' is never tiring to hear.

WONDERGIRLS was attired in gorgeous golden dresses. Amidst loud cheers, they first performed 'So Hot' to heighten the mood, followed by the familiar 'Tell Me', & finally bringing out the signature retro microphones for 'Nobody'. The audience successively screamed along.

Besides demonstrating singing skills & enchanting dances, WONDERGIRLS also kept speaking Chinese to butter up the fans. Group leader Sunye said, "Very happy to come to Taiwan & meet you all, how enthusiastic! We are a little anxious, yet also very happy!" Sohee shouted to the fans, "Hope everyone can encourage us for the duration of this Taiwan trip!"

The entire event lasted a short 50 minutes, causing many unsatisfied fans to holler for more. But WONDERGIRLS disclosed that they are launching their new multiple-language album in May, & will not rule out returning to Taiwan for promotions. The fans are asked to wait & see.

WONDERGIRLS's last public day in Taiwan was naturally set aside for the numerous fans who adored them! Since last night, many fans had started queuing, hoping to get a closer glimpse of WONDERFIRLS's svelteness. For this fan gathering, WONDERGIRLS performed 3 songs including the classic 'Nobody' which was presented in its Chinese version.

Korean group WONDERGIRLS: "I WANT NOBODY NOBODY BUT YOU."

Here comes the signature 'Nobody'! WONDERGIRLS is in Taiwan for 4 days, with only one platform to showcase their golden vocals. The organizers even freighted in WONDERGIRLS's exclusive 'W' microphones. Attired in golden tassel dresses, they were completely authentic in flavor when paraded for the Taiwan fans. WONDERGIRLS: "Hello everybody. We are the WONDERGIRLS."

They proffered their hard-learned Chinese, which touched the Taiwan fans. The site's 400-500 crowd was insufficient. The second & third floors were also packed with a human tide. Many others were shut out outside, watching through glass windows & reluctant to leave. The downstage fans were holding balloons, posters, someone even drew a giant 'W' on her [his] face to welcome the idols. The event's MC: "Oh! Number 45, these 10 (fans) are the most fortunate."

On April 23 evening, top Korean girl-group WONDERGIRLS held their only fan gathering in their Taiwan trip at the CPcity Living Mall basement 3 Gravity Stadium. Due to space restrictions, only 700 fans were admitted. But the event lasted only 50 minutes, causing unsatisfied fans to holler for more.

WONDEGIRLS's only fan gathering [saw them] attired in gorgeous golden costumes. They opened the show by performing 'So Hot", & then sung the hit song 'Tell Me'. For the finale, the signature retro microphones were moved onstage for 'Nobody', exhilarating HIGH the entire audience.

WONDERGIRLS was impressed with the Taiwan fans' enthusiasm, saying aloud: "Nervous yet happy!" 10 fortunate fans were chosen on the spot to receive WONDERGIRLS autographs. Due to the event lasting only 50 minutes, many fans who had queued for entry tickets since dawn were unsatisfied & hollered for more. But WONDERGIRLS also disclosed that once the Chinese album is released, they expect to come to Taiwan to meet the fans again.

Popular Korean group WONDERGIRLS visited Taiwan for the first time. They held a fan gathering last nigh at CPcity Living Mall, which was also their only public event during their 4-day, 3-night trip. Downstage, there was a rare Hallyu display of the family-system star-chasing phenomenon.

Despite the cold & wet weather, yesterday's 500-limited number tokens were rapidly snapped up. Moreover, the fans had started queuing since 7am. WONDERGIRLS's busy schedule 2 nights ago ended only in the wee hours. But to produce the best performance, they went straight to the venue for rehearsals after completing [yesterday's] media interviews. The 'Nobody' music broadcast immediately caused great commotion in the shopping mall, attracting many onlookers to gather around. WONDERGIRLS had no choice but to speed up the rehearsal.

Yesterday's fan gathering drew a majority of male fans, but there were also many family-system star-chasing tribes. Indeed, 'Nobody' had allowed WONDERGIRLS to be idols for many children.

Korean idol-group WONDERGIRLS completed their 3-day Taiwan trip today (April 24). They left on the 1:20pm flight for Shanghai to continue their Asian promotions. Compared to their effusive arrival earlier, the quintet appeared a little tired, considerably low-key in reaction to the fans' & the media's questions.

Dozens of fans had prepared posters & albums to wait at the airport since dawn for their idols. After concluding their 3-day Taiwan itinerary, Korean girl-group WONDERGIRLS was escorted out of their custodian vehicle by their staff after 1pm.

Sohee was walking point, wearing black sunglasses as when on arrival to Taiwan. On seeing the media, she immediately pulled up her hood & was rather low-key. The other group members smiled to acknowledge the fans' enthusiasm, but were visibly tired when clearing customs. Was this trip too debilitating? Busy with exams, the fans were understrength at the airport

WONDERGIRLS's arrival yesterday coincided with the mid-term school exams. Many students wanted to go to the airport, but were not free. There was only about 30 greeting fans. By contrast, the media appeared to be more excited, surrounding & overwhelming the group members. They said this was their first trip, & hope to taste Taiwan snacks like bubble tea & to roam the night markets.

WONDERGIRLS appeared on 'Mr Con & Ms Csi' yesterday, performing 'Nobody' & [enduring] the many informal interpretations. Native Taiwan girl-group HEY GIRL was also eagerly attentive. [Group member] Ya Tou even attempted at a lesbian kiss &, when called out, replied inanely: "Because I want to kiss a Korean artiste ah." But her dream was scrupulously impeded by Dee Hsu later. In addition, assistant show host Chen Han-dian impersonated SUPERJUNIOR's Han Geng (Hankyung) to entertain the girls, but was vivaciously panned.

5 successive assignments, to meet the fans on Friday

WONDERGIRLS is holding a fan gathering on Friday 7pm at CPcity Living Mall. Their first day in Taiwan consisted of 5 successive assignments, filming & recording until 11pm. They could only watch the Taipei scenery through car windows. Their record label plans to take them to eat steamed dumplings as a reward.

'First nights': fans criticize Dee Hsu for sexual harassment

Korean girl-group WONDERGIRLS has left Taiwan after their 4-day, 3-night trip. Many fans went to the airport to send them off. This period was full of activities, which not only stirred Taiwan crazy, but was also eagerly covered by the Korean media. WONDERGIRLS had been startled when asked by Dee Hsu about "When was [your] first night?" on her show. Their Korean fans are very discontented, claiming that since WONDERGIRLS has 2 members of under 18 in age, this question constitutes sexual harassment. Others criticized it as too outlandish & rude!

Amidst the fans' enthusiastic send-off, WONDERGIRLS's final words of their 4-day, 3-night trip were: Reporter: "How do you feel about Taiwan?" WONDERGIRLS member: "Admirable." Reporter: "Very good?" The report further introduced Dee Hsu ("Little S") as Barbie Hsu's ("Big S") younger sister & fellow ASOS member. Another report has a fan asking, "Isn't this sexual harassment? It is so outlandish, rude & lacking common sense."

Korean fans are pissed off. They feel their girl group has been bullied in Taiwan. WONDERGIRLS member: "NOBODY NOBODY BUT YOU, no matter who hurts who first..." [-qoxie- the reporter is quoting the Chinese remake's chorus.]

WONDERGIRLS's 4-day trip was fully packed. The sensitive subject broached during their first night is seen as too aggravating by conservative Koreans. But WONDERGIRLS saw it another way: they felt that having debuted since young, to be asked this question is proof that they have finally grown up.

The girls were absolutely beautiful during the fan meeting! They got so much of love & support & the cheers during So Hot were deafening! Taiwan loves Wonder Girls especially Sun Ye. There were some mistakes in the performances but at least they all did well overall & were cheered on enthusiastically by the audience.

Ye Eun was talking about tofu right? I won't expect anything less from the Queen of Food! Sun Ye was saying in mandarin on how nervous she was performing in Taiwan. Hehe..

At first I was apprehensive about those big buns the girls had their hair done up into but I think it did show off their beautiful bone structure. I love those gold dresses too. Sun Ye’s & Yu Bin’s gold dresses were quite loose on them. I think these 2 have been losing a LOT of weight recently.

Hmm.. I can understand that the Taiwanese Wonderfuls wanted to show their support for the girls by waving balloons during the fan meeting but I wish they’d chosen some other colour than pink. Red, blue or green.. anything except pink. I don’t want Wonder Girls to get picked on because of this issue.

people at Allkpop are taking the whole Dee Hsu asking Wonder Girls about their first time incident WAY too seriously. I can't believe a minor cultural misunderstanding is practically building up to a war there.

there is also the misleading article of Wonder Girls being "humiliated" because their Nobody Rainstone Remixed Version single was given away with a bag of rice at H-mart. An incident that happened back in February 2010 and is surprisingly being brought up again now for discussion.

people at Allkpop are taking the whole Dee Hsu asking Wonder Girls about their first time incident WAY too seriously. I can't believe a minor cultural misunderstanding is practically building up to a war there.

there is also the misleading article of Wonder Girls being "humiliated" because their Nobody Rainstone Remixed Version single was given away with a bag of rice at H-mart. An incident that happened back in February 2010 and is surprisingly being brought up again now for discussion.

I don't defend allkpop often, but they're only eavesdropping on the Korean side in this case.

In fact, I think that the Taiwan trip is turning out to be possibly WG's widest in online coverage, although it registered but a bleep on the English-speaking radar.

(Dunno about Korea's, but it should be expansive too.)

I translated only the Taiwanese articles. There are hundreds more (some with exclusive videos & pics) on the Mainland websites which I just skimmed through.

The H Mart topic is, I think, just a result of it being a slow news day (English-speaking radar).

allkpop is already "defending" WG by borrowing that Daum list of top K-pop Youtube clips posted here the other day.

I'm all for JYPE seeking new commercial partners in America.

Retail chains like Justice & H Mart can help stock WG products, especially since the jury's out on whether WG has a national CD-distribution network there yet.

Also, 'Nobody' is 2 years old; the English version is 8 months old (11 million views on YT!); the Rainstone & Jason Nevins remixes already out for a while too; & remixed tracks itself (which the H Mart CD collects) occupying a niche market.

Only hobbyists & completists would want to buy the H Mart CD. The profit margin would've likely been very low too, if retailed for $1 each again.
