edit: Nice HK glowsticks!!! I want one!! I think this is much more convenient than the WG glowsticks since these are simple whereas the latter is NOT(i mean that is my personal opinion). My W.G glowsticks broke when i was banging it so hard. xD

Mnet Asian Music Awards blooms in Macau; top Hallyu stars to appear

Sina Entertainment news. Reputed to be Korean's authoritative music awards, the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) will be held in Macau on November 28. This year, the focus is on urban life & the 'new youth, new feeling' Arts & Humanities channel will air show highlights exclusively for the Mainland China region. On November 28 at 9:30pm, Hallyu fans in Shanghai can enjoy the high points of this Asian music feast.

The MAMA Awards has always been a major battleground between various major entertainment companies & artistes. RAIN, BoA, Lee Hyori, WONDERGIRLS, SUPERJUNIOR & others have all shone on the MAMA stage, thereby establishing their music status. The 2010 MAMA Awards is heading overseas to Macau to re-position it as a true Pan-Asian music awards event. The show will air in 16 Asian counties & regions. Last night at almost midnight, she & 2 friends saw the girls at the hotel. Meaning, they have been waiting since last afternoon till dawn today. Must have been really exhausting.

Once she saw Yeeun, she hurried to pass her the 2 bags of gifts from the Baidu Parkyeeun community. Yeeun was much surprised at seeing the presents. 木姐 also managed to let Yeeun see the Baidu Yeeun signatures (she got a copy; 木姐 kept another set). The manager refused to let Yeeun sign but she was very supportive, repeatedly saying "it's all right, it's all right."

Yeeun looked a bit tired; those around [said] she lost weight. Quite distressing. Her hair was curly & in a ponytail. Sohee appeared to be in a good mood & even smiled. Reticent & not wearing dark glasses.

Apple Daily lists Mnet Ultimate Live as the 3rd-grossing Hallyu concert in Taiwan so far this year.

I reckon it could have probably doubled to NT55 million if the Kaohsiung leg was not canceled.

[Lin Yiwen / roundup] 'Anti-Hallyu' boycotts of Korean goods & TV dramas continue to ferment, but the powerful 'Korean Wave' of Kpop concerts in Taiwan have already funneled away NT264.15 million dollars! So far this year, 19 Kpop acts have held 11 concerts & showcases in Taiwan. Among them, the dynamic girlrgoup SNSD was the biggest draw, performing twice at the Taipei Arena & reaping NT82 million to become box-office champs.

SNSD's sunbaes SUPERJUNIOR had taken the early lead by unleashing their main group & sub-groups. In February, they set sights on the student fans' Chinese New Year money by holding their 'Super Show 2' at the Taipei Arena, easily pocketing NT63.5 million dollars. Last weekend, they sent their subgroup KRY (Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, Yesung) & extracted another NT26 million dollars from 2 shows. The total sum gouged from Taiwan fans' wallets amounted to NT89.5 million dollars.

The mercenary plans does not end there. Next year, they are organizing 'Super Show 3' on March 12 & 13 at the Taipei Arena again. Despite recent military tension between the 2 Koreas, the organizers indicated they currently have no plans to delay or cancel the concerts

The 21-member Mnet Ultimate Live in Taiwan concert in August which featured the likes of 2PM & WONDERGIRLS amassed NT28 million dollars. On January 22, 4 idol groups are joining SUPERJUNIOR for the 'Dream Of Asia' show at the Banciao First Stadium. SM Entertainment artistes will also subsequently hold a 'SM Town' concert. They are 'valuing' the Taiwan market enough to drain the fans' wallets nonstop.

FT ISLAND's Christmas concert is already 90 percent sold out

Boyband FT ISLAND had tested the waters in February with their 'Inaugural Taiwan Showcase' at the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall, collecting NT 7 million dollars. "Insatiable", they will hold a concert on December 25 at TWTC Nangang. 90 percent of tickets, or about 7,000, has already been sold for a box office of about NT15 million. The music orbit of Hallyu is seemingly unaffected by sporting & political disputes as it continues to hover over Taiwan.

[News] Wonder Girls’ Hot Popularity in Hong Kong ‘We’re so busy we can’t even see our family’

Girl group Wonder Girls has been gaining a massive amount of popularity in Hong Kong.

With their upcoming solo concert in the country on the 17th of the following month, the Wonder Girls are planning on holding a press conference and fan signing event on the 29th this month.

For this event, which will be limited to fans who have reserved/pre-ordered tickets, the girls are planning on giving signed posters and albums as gifts to their fans. However, due to their busy schedule, the fan signing will only be held for a short 45 minutes.

Meanwhile, it has been informed that because of their equally busy US activities schedule, the members have not had time to see their families and friends.

It was also informed in another report that the girls were planning on inviting their family members to the Hong Kong concert, but has become difficult to do after the VIP tickets sold out. However, the Wonder Girls have been gaining strength by talking to them on the phone often.
