Wonder Girls Makes Debut On China Television

With tremendous success from their hit single “Nobody”, on the 8th of August South Korean quintets made their China television debut on a variety show – “Happy Camp”. Receving huge response with just one song, the girls laughed and said that they didn’t expected it to turn out that way, and the girls left uncommented when asked about their new single “2 Different Tears” whether will it overtake their previous single “Nobody”

Hunan TV.com (reporters: Xu Panya, Lu Hang) On August 8 afternoon, popular Korean girl group WONDERGIRLS dropped by Changsha during their promotion campaign for the forthcoming new album '2 Different Tears'. WONDERGIRLS's itinerary is reportedly very packed. They will record 'Happy Camp' show for Hunan TV tonight, then hurry to Beijing tomorrow for the album launch-cum autograph event in the afternoon.

WONDERGIRLS of 'Nobody' fame in Asia has a new '2 Different Tears' album in which the dance music is very Sixties-to-Eightes retro in style. According to reports, it will be released on the same day (August 9) as the album launch event. The title song '2 Different Tears' comes in Chinese, English & Korean versions. The album also includes their breakthrough hits 'Tell Me', 'So Hot' & 'Nobody' in English versions. WONDERGIRLS, who will perform in Taipei on August 22, talked about their most desired collaborators among Chinese music artistes. All at once, the 5 girls became very animated. Group leader Sunye admitted her idol is Jay Chou, while Yeeun & LIM wanted to collaborate with Wang Lee Hom the most.

Regarding China TV talent shows like 'Super Boy' 快乐男声 & 'Blossoming Girls' 花儿朵朵, WONDERGIRLS [said they] have also heard of them. Group leader Sunye said she has seen several TV videos, was very affected by them, & wanted badly to offer encouraging words to the contestants. Grabbing the chance, she told them not to abandon their dreams & to continue striving towards their goals. Asked about what characterizes a [music] group, the 5 girls showed tremendous acumen. But I have no other intention. Merely to share feedback of what I saw today.

Today my dad's father passed me a ticket.

My seat was not great. Right at the back.

But it was in the middle.

Actually, I do not know WG all that well prior. Felt they became popular cuz of 'Nobody'.

Also, I only found out this morning that WG is appearing.

Went down in the evening.

The filming started at around 8pm.

They performed to 'Nobody', after which they changed attires to begin the formal portion [of the show].

I must say, their Chinese sounded really good.

Yeeun comes across as very lively..

She was great live too. Very good. But I dunno if she has put on a little weight.

Feels like she is plumper.

Sohee looks very lanky. Standing there, she is strikingly pretty.

Much more attractive than on TV.

Very princess-y...

PS. I thought Yeeun's sad version of the birthday song was worth the wait.

She sang it really, really well...

Yoobin has very flirtatious eyes & is fond of acting coy.

Her glances tend to leave others bewitched.

Sunye's live dancing completely started me...it was excellent & very powerful.

Their live performance is not bad...

But...Sohee's seem a bit uneven. Both singing & dancing.

I have no particular impression about LIM. Felt like she is still trying to blend in.

Actually, I like Sunye the most among WG prior.

Back on the set after a change of attire. WG had performed Nobody before this.

WG said eye contact was crucial for 'Nobody', so TV host-comedian Xie Na challenged them.

The TV hosts complimented WG's smiles, & got them each to demonstrate. Sunye's moment.

Everyone watched a WG MV. The TV host joked that JYP must be very stern, to cause the girls to hide the toilet paper from him.

Yoobin taught the TV host how to send a bewitching glance. (animated gif)

The TV host tried it out.

Yeeun & a TV host acted out a lover's breakup. She was very extroverted & proficient, keeping in character by clinging on tightly & even shrieking.

Xie Na joked that her colleague's infatuation is for real. Yeeun immediately said 'I don't want him.'

To entice her 'lover' to stay, Yeeun went for broke & performed a slow version of 'Nobody.'

Xie Na's turn to try it out.

Rest break as Jay Chou's choreographer got to perform, but Sohee was spotted watching at the side.

WG is back on the set.

WG was invited to show their dances. LIM was first. (Sohee initially joined in, but quickly retreated behind Sunye.)

Xie Na couldn't resist not challenging LIM.

Yeeun stepped forth to help LIM against Xie Na.
