So true. A lot of Koreans have these crescent eyes. They look awesome but for some Chinese gals (moi included), it's just annoying to put on makeup.

Really? Because I have eyes that are almost exactly like the ones the Korean blogger posted with the celeb-makeup tutorials, so I think they're great.

But I know what you're talking about. I don't think it's just Koreans; I just think people who have "prettier" eyes tend to be more open about posting tutorials and so even though they have "single lids" their makeup tends to look great... But I still think it's about adapting to what you have rather than wishing you had something you didn't.

even with single lid i feel like theres a buch of types that fall under it. like the tuts on this page i cant do bc i have too much skin on my upper lid. i love my eye shape an all but the excess fatty skin gets annoying.

how do you keep the bottom eyeliner from smudging? is it by applying eye primer there also?

i've got single lids and this is my daily wear:

eyeliner

eyeshadow

white shimmer

this is when i used more eyeliner on my bottom lids

I was so depressed about my single eyelids after yesterday when my mom's friend kept commenting about them. And oh howw she wanted her son to get srugery to get it to be double eyelids.

I was like.. D:

So happeh now ;D

LOL. Yeah, I was talking about my single eyelids with my mom yesterday. I just mentioned that my eyelids were single and not double like she originally thought they'd be, and the first thing out of her mouth was, "When you've started your career, you can get surgery to make them double." I was so surprised - my mom's the first person to tell me to not put on makeup or do anything to change how I look. So I had to tell her that, no, I'm quite happy with my single eyelids and that putting makeup on them wasn't as hard as I originally thought, thanks to this thread as well xD

For me, pencil eyeliner doesn't really show up. That's why I would recommend you use a cream or liquid eyeliner for the top lid and pencil or cream for the bottom. It's not going to be glaringly obvious if you draw a thin line as it would be if you had double eyelids. If you did want a more dramatic effect, you'd have to do what Fashionista* and other Soompi posters here have done: fill in the tiny eyelid you have with eyeliner.

I can't find any pictures but I remember seeing a few

where some girls with single-eyelids would draw eyelashes on their eyelids

since theirs are hard to see naturally.

I never heard about the words double or single eyelids until I came to this site last year. I became really conscious about my eyes and even tempted to do surgery. But over a year, I learned to love them. I think some people, including me, should learned how to built up our self-esteems instead of listening on what over people think is beautiful.

I know a friend who has single eyelids and she has lots of men smitten of her b/c of her confidence and personality...
