now, its the whole pop korean songs i hate, which is kind of ironic b/c thats the reason why i joined soompi. the songs themselves pretty much suck b/c thyre filled with cottoncandy fluffiness.

Otherwise, that's about it. I hate the majority of mainstream 'rap' and country as well, but there are a few gems.

...Oh man, way too many people hate metal, punk, and screamo. Oh well. XP None of these genres are for everyone.

But when people completely hate classical or jazz? That just seems ridiculous.

my music preferences changed since i last posted here.

i really can't stand most american stuff.. mainly rap, explict r&b, and hip-hop. i don't bother with anything heavier than metal rock. and i can't stand listening to the cutesy, bubblegum pop. and country music gets on my nerves sometimes.

It's not so much the genre. If the lyrics is gay and retarded. [iE about dancing, sex, girls etc] then I'll hate it. Sadly to say, that includes mainstream hiphop.

I think some of you are overgeneralizing...

ALL genres are good, but there are artists in every genre that SUCK majorly, and they are often the most popular ones.

ie)

pop - backstreet boys, britney spears, justin timberlake, one republic (=___=)

R&B - Cassie, Usher (wtf?)

rock - Green Day, Good Charlotte (shoot me now)

but i particularly dislike the present hip hop scene... their music videos are all the same, they rap and sing about the same thing... what happened to the soul of black music? is it gone? i have great respect for not very know hip hoppers, de la soul, el-p, sage francis, etc. etc.

and yeah, i can't believe people don't enjoy classical or jazz ? why ?! haha...

Though I have at least one song from each genre that ever existed I must say I'm not a big fan of:

-country

-emo (with their girly-sounding screaming voices)

-rap

-dance/electronica

-religious crap (no offense)

-ballads and slow songs in general

-jazz/blues

-classical
