Hi friends~~*hugs*

It's good to see the ratings continue to rise albeit tiny bit. I read viewers' responses to the ep 8. and they are the most positive ones I've seen since the show started. Almost everyone says ep 8 is packed with thrills and fun. I can't wait to see the eppie...

But......ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

My laptop crashed this morning. I am using a computer in the library now. Oh...I can't watch the drama for a time being until it gets fixed or I buy a new one. :tears::tears::tears:

If I have a chance to watch it in the library, I will post the summaries, but otherwise the summaries will be delayed indefinitely.:crazy: If someone can do a summary, that will be awesome!!!!!

Though, i will try to stop by here anytime it is allowed. ;)

wils : on no...that stinks. Hopefully you'll have your compie fixed ASAP. Jang Hyuk is waiting for you .

Can you watch viikii using the library computer?

We might have to rely on Jill or hjkomo for summaries. I may not have time to watch today either..will try my best but can't be sure yet....

Oh, this is a serious tragedy!!! :o wils, I'm so sorry this has happened!! Like o-cha says, Jang Hyuk is waiting for you and he's wearing cute glasses!!! ;)

I am hoping to watch tonight (it's all ready to go), but I'm not sure I'm really qualified to give a summary with any kind of detail! It would have to be fairly superficial!!! We will have to cross our fingers that hjkomo will at least provide a bare-bones summary for us...if she hasn't fallen into a swoon caused by a certain super sultry performance in 720p!

Okay, my fellow Tazza aficianadas ~ I watched Episode 8 and will be putting a quick summary below. Just remember this summary is very off-the-cuff and omits detailed discussion of conversations because, as you all know, I am not a Korean speaker!! I think I did a fairly good job of recapping, but we will need wils (if she can get ahold of a computer and watch the episode) or hjkomo to add more detail!

I continue to be impressed with everything about this drama. The performances, the music, the humor, the dramatic scenes...it's all so enjoyable that the episodes go by quickly (too quickly). JH is very good in Ep. 8, KMJ is also good and looks absolutely gorgeous. HYS is growing on me. I find she's very well cast and is really doing some good work in Tazza! Brava to her. Okay, enough of my humble opinions; here is my summary:

Goni and Gwang Ryul are at the big illegal game run by Dong Choon (for Ah Gwi). Goni notices how they broadcast the dealer’s cards on the widescreen TV monitors. He spots Dong Choon at the door and wants to attack him but Gwang Ryul holds him back and persuades him to leave. They hatch a plot to beat the house with a trick. They enlist the help of several men they met at the game (which is held in an agricultural area inside a huge quonset hut). They explain everything to the other guys and later when it’s time to go back to the game (it’s kind of similar to a floating crap game…and a van drives by and picks up all the players), they both wear glasses they wore on their second visit to the game and which, as far as I could tell, were just for decoration to make them look kind of nerdy and ordinary?

Goni went to Bulgom and I guess he told him he was going to get even with Ah Gwi. Bulgom is angry with Ah Gwi for infringing on and stealing his business with the military. He was arguing with the general about losing out to Ah Gwi. [someone will have to clarify exactly what Goni told Bulgom….]

Goni goes to the military casino and calls out Nansook. They talk on a bench outside. When he gets back to PGJ’s house, PGJ, GR, and PGJ’s daughter are watching a movie (sorry, not exactly sure which movie it is), but PGJ discusses the movie and Goni gets some ideas from it.

Later, at the big game, their trick is successful and lots of people win big at the game. Dong Choon is furious and can’t believe what’s happening. The house is losing and the players are winning. [JH is good in this scene, funny as ever! He’s great at this kind of thing!!] Dong Choon’s henchman (one of them) telephones Young Min to alert him to the disaster taking place.

Dong Choon’s men stop Goni outside the game. They take him to Dong Choon, and Goni and Dong Choon end up playing Hwatu. Goni pulled out a knife and stuck it in the table as a warning. During the game, he catches Dong Choon trying to cheat. Goni eventually wins (using his special card handling skills) and later ends up almost beating the c**p out of Dong Choon. But there is trouble outside and Gwang Ryul grabs some money and Goni and they run out.

After hearing about the trouble, Young Min gets in his car and drives quickly to the game. He arrives as GoGo are running out. He is stunned to see that it is Goni who was responsible for the losses! Everyone starts chasing GoGo and it seems like they are trapped, but they escape under the plastic covering the quonset huts. Young Min grabs Gwang Ryul and hands him the key to the van urgently telling him to get the van and get the h*ll out of there with Goni. [i’m so glad Young Min isn’t totally evil at this point. He can’t allow Goni to be caught! Thank you, Young Min!!) They escape and meet up with their “partners in crime” and pay them off. Everyone is happy because the operation went well.

At Ah Gwi’s HQ, he is totally p*ssed with Dong Choon. He throws an ashtray in anger and kicks DC and pushes him down, yelling at him for allowing himself to be tricked and lose so much money.

Goni reports back to Bulgom. He gives him the bag of money. [will need some explanation here, as mentioned earlier, regarding what was said] Next we see Goni outside the base. He is waiting for his bus. The bus comes, but just before he can get on the bus, Young Min appears and calls to him. They have a smiling reunion [note: I love KMJ’s smile, so I have to savor the few times this role allows him to smile…] Goni has no idea of the connections between Madame J., Nansook, Ah Gwi, Dong Choon. As he chatters innocently away to Young Min, you can see the various emotions crossing Young Min’s face—regret, discomfort, uneasiness, et cetera. He can hardly say anything because things are so awkward. Then he gets a beeper call and leaves.

Dae Ho goes to visit PGJ, his old colleague and long-time friend. (Goni is not aware of this relationship) Dae Ho leaves and walks right past GoGo, who are returning to the house. They do not notice him except to notice that someone was there, a person. They ask PGJ who was visiting, but the answer does not say “Dae Ho,” so Goni really has no idea it was Dae Ho.

Goni calls Nansook and tells her he’s going to Pusan. He wants her to meet him at Seoul Station and go to Pusan with him. He plans to see his Mom and give her some money. Nansook is sad because she knows she won’t be able to do it. There’s no way she can go.

Later, we see Young Min at a card table. He’s joined by Madame J. Then he sees Nansook enter and calls to her. The three of them meet and talk. Young Min follows Nansook into the hallway. They talk and he realizes he is not the object of her affections. He looks totally dejected (poor Young Min!) She told him about the Pusan trip but I’m not sure if she told him she’d been asked to go. [clarification needed]

Goni meets with PGJ, but I’m not sure what they talked about. Then Goni went to Seoul station and waited for Nansook. He was so excited when she arrived that he almost embraced her. He said, “Let’s go!” But then she had to tell him that she wasn’t able to go. He was disappointed. Then he quickly pulled out a set of couple’s rings and put one on her left ring finger and the other on his finger. He is very happy as he walks to the train, but Nansook is, of course, more subdued, knowing that things are getting very complicated….

Goni arrives at Pusan and finds his Mom cleaning some stairs. She is stunned to see him and they have a tearful (but remarkably low key) reunion. It’s a short scene and nicely done.

Goni returns to Seoul and PGJ’s house. Yura is quite happy to see him, btw. He starts packing up his things and finds a photo album. He starts looking through it. They find a picture of Yura as a baby in a wading pool. He continues to flip through the pages. Suddenly he spots a picture of Dae Ho and makes the connection with PGJ….

I hope one of you will post some amplification of what I wrote; I know my summary is lacking in many respects!!!

Hi friends,

Thanks o-cha, jill and fivemagic for your warm message for what happened to my computer. You cheered me up. Though i haven't figured out about the computer problem yet. Anyway..good news is I watched ep 8 just now. hehe...I was stupid not to remember I have a portable media player through which I can watch videos. hehe...So I could

Thanks Jill for the wonderful summary. It was really really great. *kisses*

And thanks luv for the caps as usual. I can't wait to see ep 9.

Thanks LuvHanYeSeul and Fivemagic for sharing the ratings. too bad..the ratings for ep 9 fell a bit.

But it's okay as long as viewers are satisfied with the drama.

I am feeling a bit sad about the tazza thread as it gets quieter. I thought it will get buzzy as the story heats up. Maybe the story doesn't appeal to the soompiers? I wonder why??? :phew:

Anyway, I may be able to watch ep 9 tonight. I am really excited..hehe :w00t:
