Hi, well I watch all my K-dramas in korean in english subs because I can't stand the dubbed voices sometimes (too unnatural) and I love hearing their natural voices (especially SHK who has such a sweet voice :blush: ). I guess if you want to spend your money and get the eng. subbed one then I recommend you buy it. It depends on your preference and I just prefer listening to their real voices. The only thing I hate is that they don't include english subs for the extras like behind the scenes and NGs, but other than that the eng. subs version on yesasia are usually good with good grammar.

I just saw the pinned thread about spamming so I'm gonna make every post count now and hope everyone will do the same because I definitely do not want to see this thread closed .

Question for everyone: What was your first SHK drama and what attracted you to her the first time you saw her? For me, my first drama of hers was FH. At that time I was currently watching "Prince's First Love" w/ Sung Yuri and so I compared SHK to Sung Yuri and thought that Sung Yuri was cuter. The first time I saw SHK was on FH in the 7th ep. when she was out "watching people" w/ the Min-Hyuk and I thought she seemed rather plain perhaps because she was barely wearing any makeup. But when I watched her again in ep. 14 when she cried after telling YJ that she wanted a divorce and was in pain I thought... "wow, she's so pretty! And such a wonderful actress!" Ever since then I always compare every actress to SHK and they almost always fail to even come halfway up to her level. After that I watched almost every single one of her drama. The next one was AIMH and I was amazed when I found out that she was only 18 in that one (what a great actress!). Welps... thats all, just wanted to share my story of how and why I fell in love w/ her.

anyway, back to your question, what was my first SHG drama and what attracted me to her as an actress? Well, my first ever K-drama was Full House, which Song Hye Gyo starred in...this drama started my Korean frenzy, by the way anyway, I didn't notice Song Hye Gyo from FH like it started for you Nancy. I remember the first time I joined Soompi, I wasn't too into Korean things, you know like Korean music, Korean food, Korean movies or dramas, or even the Korean language; I was too into my Mars and Meteor Garden stage at the time, so I was really more interested in Taiwanese dramas and things related to Taiwanese celebs. As a result, I was always in the "other celebs photos" forum whenever I visited Soompi, or I was in the "file sharing" section. Then one day, I saw a poll...actually, I saw several polls with SHG in it, but I was never too interested to click into the thread to see how this SHG person looks like...well, this particular poll was different; it was a poll between Cecilia Cheung vs. Song Hye Gyo. Now I've seen Cecilia Cheung before and I thought she was extremely beautiful, so out of curiosity I clicked into the thread and voila, I was finally introduced to Song Hye Gyo. Her beauty struck me as amazing and she totally stood out from the other Korean female celebs that I've seen...I don't know how to explain, but her beauty was and still is unique. Well, I'm the type of person that superficial beauty fades away pretty fast; however, at the time I was heavily influenced by her physical beauty enough to venture into the "korean celebs photo" forum to check out more pix of her...and of course I eventually googled SHG up to get more 411 on her. Lo and behold, I found out that she was starring in a drama called Full House, so I checked out the synopsis to the drama (at that time, I didn't know who Bi was either ). I was interested in the synopsis enough to check out some clips posted by avid fans of Full House in the FH thread and I was hooked from then on...I used spot translations to guide my way through various clips. I eventually ordered a set of the darma and I was finally able to watch and understand the whole thing. After that I was really hooked. Then I checked out AIMH cause Song Hye Gyo was in it (at that time I didn't know who Song Seung Hun or Wonbin were either ) and her role there was a 180 degree turnabout from that of FH and I was further hooked on this particular actress. So what really perpetuated my admiration for SHG was her talent as an actress and her dedication to acting that led her great success at such a young age. Then ultimately, I discovered this wonderful thread and it's become a haven for me to share the joy and express my admiration for this wonderful actress with all my wonderful SHGers...there goes my side of the story, whew that was long-winded, but I'm glad I got that off my chest...thanks Nancy for bringing this topic up

Regarding to nancy question: My first SHG drama was AIMH a.k.a Autumn Story. This drama was aired right after Winter Sonata took off (WS gave a lot of impact on how the korean wave began to hit our region, where the local tv kept rolling som other korean drama since then). She was gorgeous in this drama besides a line of other great casts i.e. SSH,WB,HCY etc. Her true beauty & exquisiteness which blended really well with her great acting ability in AIMH made me kept track of her other projects such as Hotelier (pretty gud drama but SHG wasn't the lead actress), Gurdian Angel (an ok drama), Sunshine of Love a.k.a Sunlight Pours Down (been watching this for the sake of SHK coz the storyline and plot was like bleh.., still rmb struggling to finish the whole epis).

Til now I haven't manage to finish 'All In' even for the sake of SHG, I've tried to watch the 1st epi but fall asleep along the way I think one of the contributing factor is I'm not really into SHG-LBH as the on-screen couple (no offence its jus me), moreover the story was about a gambling world, casino & stuffs really didn't interest me much...I guess I need a lot of guts to continue a rewatch some other time... the adoration towards SHG undoubtedly grew when FH came out. I was surprised that she was doing a comedy role and she even managed to pull an outstanding performance thru the character despite ...and yes of course a great storyline and other great cast i.e. Bi, KSS & HEJ did contribute to the successful of FH! I guess thats my 2 cents

I'm really looking forward to her next project..wish her all the best in whatever project she wants to pursue..

nancy, as to your question on how we got into watching shk and becoming her fan and here is mine:

i was never into k-dramas until i watched autumn in my heart.. i thought the 2 male leads would have caught my attention but instead it was shk that caught my attention.. she was able to act superb with her emotions that it didn't leave a dry eye in my house.. i still can't believe she was only 18.. soon afterwards, i tried to search for her name and was able to.. then i started buying dvds that included her.. it was not only her acting that captivated my attention, but just like soustada, it was her physical appearance.. she has been my idol since 2002.. i think she has very unique looks and it's hard not to stare at her.. watching interviews, she seems humble, nice, quiet, and private.. it's pretty hard to find these qualities in any celebrity, be it korean or american.

after looking at all the pix of shk from her AIMH and her current pix.. i noticed she has dropped a dramatic amount of weight.. it's not that she was fat or anything, i thought she looked cute with a little extra meat on her.. it makes her look younger.. but i guess when she lost the weight, her facial features were more defined.. just my opinion either skinny or a little chunky, she is still pretty
