Eclipse, don't worry, in the original manhwa, lljimae lives. Only GJM and BM die. GJM kills himself after he set lljimae free. BM, who is on the way to HanYang, to accept GJM's proposal, heard news about lljimae being caught and beheaded. In her grief, she kills herself by "smashing" (ooops! sorry, can't think of a better word to use) her head against a rock.

In the drama, this will be the third time BM making her way to Hanyang but actually, there is only one trip. The first two trips we see in the drama are actually added on by the scriptwriter.

l don't know how it will actually ends in the drama but l think it is very unlikely that both GJM and BM will be alive. Both Kim Min Jong and Jung Hae Young complete their filming in the middle of March.

By the way,i saw one of eps. of Unstoppable High Kick today (eps.28 i think where his character`s angry because he`s being blame for everything), omo Il Woo is sooooo...different. I mean his voice particularly...He`s sure change his voice in ROI, it`s so ...deep now. it`s amazing to see the difference.

Ep. 21 - The Boy Iljimae

Sung Ge drags Iljimae through the mountains and stops to rest. He says Iljimae looks the same as before, and he has pretty hands. As Sung Ge prepares some food, Iljimae regains consciousness. He approaches Sung Ge and asks why he was brought there. Sung Ge tries to explain that he was trying to do a good deed for the first time in his life, but he pulls out a knife because he's afraid Iljimae will kill him. Sung Ge's good deed was in vain...and he dies.

Iljimae wanders for a while and eventually collapses in a ginseng patch, where he's found by Baek Mae.

Wang Hweng Bo and Yang Po are still in the shack where Sung Ge stabbed them and are found by the monk, Dok Bo.

Soo Ryun informs Goo Ja Myung about the explosion in the mountains. They realize that Choi Myung Gil and Iljimae's work has failed. GJM worries about Baek Mae.

Trying to steer clear of the police, Wol Hee and Geol Chi go to where Iljimae told them to wait. WH worries that IJM may have already come and gone and thinks she should've come sooner.

Baek Mae returns from her ginseng patch, and IJM asks why she was working at the gibang when she raises ginseng here. Baek Mae tells him to tell her his story instead.

Baek Mae treats Iljimae's wound and says his parents will be pained to see the injury to his beautiful face. She'll get better medicine when the peddler comes by in a few days. IJM says he must leave for Hanyang tomorrow because there are people waiting for him. He asks why she's taking care of him when she had such a low opinion of him in Hanyang. She says his words that he's not as bad as he seemed resonated with her. IJM asks where her children are, aand she says she has one son, but he's supposedly in Hanyang. IJM figures she went to Hanyang last time to look for him.

Bak Bi Su tells Kim Ja Jeom about IJM collapsing just before the explosion. They deduce that IJM becomes incapacitated at the sound of drums.

Dok Bo says he's going to Qing and asks Wang Hweng Bo and Yang Po to show him the way.

IJM reads thinks of his mother and reads her letter.

Baek Mae calls him to eat while she mends his clothes, and the delicious food reminds him of the meal he had eaten before (though neither realizes that they are mother and son).

Kim Ja Jeom asks Gi Seon Nyeo about IJM's weakness. She has a vision of the beating of drums a Dal Yi's execution. KJJ realizes that the key to getting IJM is through Wol Hee, and he orders that she be captured.

Geol Chi tells Wol Hee that she should find another guy to marry. IJM is like his son, but WH is like his daughter, too. She should get married, have children, and live well. WH says she's not getting married. GC thinks she means she'll become a nun, but WH says she won't get married to anyone except IJM. She's going to wait there as long as it takes because he said he would come.

Gi Seon Nyeo and KJJ's steward, Cham Mo, have a trist of their own. She tells him that she's on fire, and he must put it out. (Guess she really is a woman. )

Narrator: Children (young viewers) - go to sleep!

Baek Mae packs IJM some rice balls for his journey. He gives her a golden plum blossom to repay her for saving him. At first, he says he bought it so he could use it at the gibang. Baek Mae defends "Iljimae" and says she doesn't want it if it was procured that way. Then, he says he actually come across it by accident and didn't want her to think he was IJM, so he would like her to accept it. IJM would want that, too.

IJM departs. Baek Mae holds the golden plum blossom, and it feels as though she's holding her son's hand. She takes out GJM's letter and reads it again.

Wol Hee waits for IJM...sure that he will come. Geol Chi barges in and warns her to leave quickly. Suspicious men are looking around the area. WH refuses to leave. It's too late...the funny hat men capture her and give GC a message for IJM.

IJM returns to the, now empty, compound...and finds GC there.

IJM sees that WH is not being held at KJJ's house. She must be somewhere else. The crew discuss where to look for her. Cha Dol volunteers...he'll call in the kids.

Cha Dol buys the kids dumplings and instructs them to search for the men with the eye-slit bamboo hats.

IJM is waiting for KJJ in his room and asks where WH is. KJJ agrees to give up WH if IJM returns everything he's taken from him by tomorrow.

IJM watches as Cham Mo sends a "text message" (i.e. homing pigeon).

None of the boys could find any men wearing eye-slit hats, but the lone girl, Sooni, used her noggin and found out where one is. Cha Dol follows the man to the casino (the same one in Volume 16) and plies the liquor delivery boy for information. Pretending to be the delivery boy's younger brother, Cha Dol makes his way in.

Cha Dol sneaks around and discovers the secret room in the back.

IJM finds Cha Dol, thanks to Sooni. Cha Dol tells IJM about the secret room, and IJM thanks him for the good work. Cha Dol wonders if Sooni likes him.

IJM sneaks into the casino and finds where WH is being held captive.

The crew discuss how to free WH. Bae Seon Dal says that Bak Bi Su is a formidable swordsman, and the only way to face him is to lose your life.

IJM knows he may die facing Bak Bi Su, and he says to a sleeping Geol Chi that he mustn't be too sad if he dies. If it weren't for GC, he would've died on the creek as a baby. This may be their last meeting. And Iljimae gently puts his hand on GC's.

GJM receives a letter from Baek Mae which upsets him.

IJM appears in front of the casino and leads Bak Bi Su on a wild goose chase. Dressed as Iljimae, Cha Dol misdirects Bak Bi Su. He's almost caught, but then Sooni distracts Bak Bi Su. Meanwhile, Iljimae uses the diversion to free WH.

IJM tells WH to flee first...while he faces Bak Bi Su.

Looks like a lovely scene indeed (haven't watched this episode yet)

Just wanted to point out at the fourth picture showing IJM as he leaves, looking back at BM for a moment, with a happy little smile that reaches his eyes, and his face radiating so much warmth, peace and contentment... an expression we've never seen on IJM before..... and maybe never again?...

...*sigh* and my heart is breaking into a million pieces....... :tears:
