  1. I haven't gotten around to watching 'Battle of Changsha' as well (only became a Wallace fan after The Journey of Flower and I don't normally marathon series - prefer to watch it as it airs haha). I've only heard good reviews about it though, so it's also definitely high on my 'To Watch List' too.

From what I heard, the film is about Chinese resistance against the Japanese in the Hong Kong area during World War 2 and I think a lot of the focus will be on Zhou Xun's character. Also, I did hear that Zhou Xun and Eddie's characters are based on actual historical figures (Eddie's character, from what I heard, was actually a pretty renowned resistance fighter during the war) so I'm assuming that it will be based off true historical events. Not sure about Wallace's role but they have been billing him as one for the male leads, so it probably won't be small.

I found an English link with a little bit of information about the film's synopsis for anyone who's interested. Doesn't have anything on Wallace's role (doesn't even mention Wallace...), but as I mentioned, it does provide some info on the film's content:

On another note, another Hugo Boss picture :)

    Thanks for the news!

So happy it's officially confirmed that Wallace is in that movie! I'm also beyond excited for the movie even though they haven't even finished filming. Hope it gets an international release (I have seen advertisements of Ann Hui's films at the cinemas before and she is very renowned so...) but it's way too early to tell haha.

On another note, I'm not sure what movie he's shooting in Qingdao but I have heard a few rumours that he'll be in a 'Republican Era' (ie. 20th century China) movie some time in April. The cast for that movie includes Zhou Xun and Eddie Peng, and it is directed by Ann Hui. Not sure how much truth is in those rumours but I really hope those rumours are true. I would love to have two of my favourite actors (Eddie and Wallace) work together, even if they are just in supporting roles. Plus, I think the production company (distribution company maybe? not sure on exact term) is BonaFilms does manage to get quite a few of their films to screen overseas so the likelihood of this movie being screened in cinemas overseas in places like Australia and the US is higher :) . We'll just have to wait and see, I guess.

From what I saw on Weibo, it wasn't just a few people. There were so much people at the cinemas I'm a bit surprised it hasn't gotten any local media coverage haha. I didn't know anyone personally who went to greet him at the cinemas but a lot of people did say he was very nice.

I'm from Sydney but when I found out about it on Weibo, considering I was quite busy and live quite far away, I seriously couldn't be bothered going out especially in the night

  6. Another trailer for Rise of a Tomboy :)

Anyway, saw on Weibo that from April 30, she'll be shooting a new ancient series and there are rumours that they'll be filming for almost 5 months. I think she'll play the role of a female warrior so it'll be another one of those 'strong' female characters that she likes. At this point, the male lead seems to be Lin Gengxin but none of the male leads are officially confirmed. Will update when I get more info but it seems like a great role for her :)

Yep, I think Liying and Aaron Kwok are playing 'husband and wife' in the new movie. I'm actually not too fussed about the huge age gap and the pairing. I don't expect there to be a whole of 'romantic scenes' since I don't think the romance will be the main focus. I'm quite anticipating this and I think it's a great opportunity for her to learn from a 'critically recognised' actor like Aaron Kwok.

In fact. out of all of Liying's upcoming projects, I'm actually looking forward to 'Rise of a Tomboy', 'New Eternal Waves' and 'Rookie Agent Rouge' the most. I know she's more famous for her 'candy-sweet' roles but I'm glad that she's expanding her repertoire and doing more complex roles.

Liying with Zhang Han, again? And Il-woo as a bonus eye candy? I don't know what the movie's about but count me in already!

Yep, another Liying and Zhang Han collab after the successful 'Boss and Me'.  Hopefully, this will be as successful, if not more :). Liying and Zhang Han are actually currently filming their 3rd collab, which is a film called 'New Eternal Waves' but I don't think they will be a couple there since Liying is paired up Aaron Kwok. Ah well, but at least as Liying said, it's good that their character dynamics and interactions are different in all three projects they have worked on together.

I think the movie is about a 'rational' maths genius (Liying) who aims to find a 'mathematical/ scientific' explanation for love. Another 'trailer' for anyone interested. Provides a pretty good intro to her character :)

I'm not usually into rom-coms but this looks pretty fun and I'm looking forward to it too :)

  9. I saw on Baidu that Wallace is getting his own wax figure at Madame Tussauds in Shanghai. As in a proper one where he went there himself for the photos, measurements etc. I heard that the wax figure will be 'unveiled' in the latter half of the year.

Haha, I guess his fans just happen to be visiting Shanghai, maybe this would be another attraction to add to your itinerary :P
