  1. Hi sunbaenimdeul, I'm back for another long post (again). I own a copy of Secret Garden transcripts (from Eps 1-20), and I was just wondering if I am actually allowed to share the documents with those interested. But unfortunately :( I have no idea where I found the website where you can download the scripts. Plus these transcripts are purely in KOREAN, and I have been working hard to translate all of the text with some help from a(n equally enthusiastic and 1023) friend. So I wanted to ask sunbaenimdeul for your guidance, and if you have come across something like this, please do PM me! I have a screenshot of how the transcript looks like, and if it's not against the rules, I might be able to post them

On a lighter note, I realized a few hours ago that we were about to reach our 2000th page, only to be greatly disappointed to find out we're only nearing page 1100...

Also, thx for all of the goodies and for the translations done by ladykate1023 (I was really lazy to read the whole of the chinese text).

And... one last thing, does anyone know where I can find a copy of 'At This Moment's Chinese Version'? I dont mind if it's not in English (it's called the 'Chinese Version' for that reason, right? ok... silly me), I really want to read it plus it's a great chance for me to improve my mandarin.

Hopefully, I wont get this thread into trouble... but I really wanna share the transcript with you guys (and if we're allowed and you're interested, I hope we could sorta like have a project and translate the whole thing together)! Haizz...

  2. I'm splitting my post into 2 parts, cuz its rather long...

    Part 2

I continued reading her entire Wikipedia page, and i literally memorized the whole table under the 'Filmography' tab. It took me a whole hour, but its worthy of my precious time, so it didnt matter much. I was really impressed by her acting range, to know that she played a boxer, a dancer, a North Korean agent (the 12 yr old me thought that North Korea produced dramas too), and an androgynous detective in Duelist (which became one of the motivations for me to take up martial arts) was what made me adore her so much.

Then i started searching 4 more articles abt HJW, and came across many describing her as an 'action actress' who 'gave her best at everything' and 'did her own stunts'. These were one of the very frequent descriptions used by media, and very rightly so.

But that was not enough, I started watching EK from start 2 finish within 2 weeks, and I was really really in love with this amazing actress. And while i was at it, i tried 2 keep up with her other projects (such as rain's mv).

Her portrayal of rain's crush was really miles away from her character in EK. I was amazed at her endless transformations - the tomboyish Key Lime, the scheming Ki Seung-nyang, the sexy whats-her-name in 'Love Story'. They were all different.

After EK (dubbed in Mandarin), SeGa and Love Story, I watched As One, which was a movie i like quite a lot. Then I watched Sector 7, which was a rather forgettable one despite Ha Ji Won being extra badass and muscly.

And in August last year, another local channel started airing teasers of The King 2 Hearts. I knew it who it was this time round, and i realized that it was a rerun (they first broadcasted it in 2013, and i took no interest in kdramas at that time) yet again.

The teaser featured HJW being badass as always, but this time i knew i wuld hv no chance of watching it, bcuz it aired at 11pm on weds and thurs. Thus i had to let go, and it was tough learning how to do it.

I guess this is sorta how i found true love in uri JiWonnie (honestly, shes old enough 2 be my mother). It started with EK and i dont think it'll ever end. And like many of you sunbaenims here, she is a role model to me. I picked up Korean and started playing table tennis more often, I began deligently practising martial arts and even attempted boxing, I work out daily now and last but not least, I tried my hand @ archery, all bcuz of HJW.

I have never openly showed my affection for celebrities in general, but i guess JiWonnie changed that fact.

im sorry for taking ur time, but i find pleasure in reading fan accounts, i hope u feel the same too.

    kamsahamnida!

I really like your post and I agree with nyangie1023 "Miss Ha would be very delighted to read what you've written here if only she gets the chance" ...and bc of your love for Jiwonni you practice martial art , boxing and even archery ??? wowww you are an amazing girl ...good for you ...and yes indeed HJW deserves our admiration and our love

so Empress Ki was your "first date" with our lovely Jiwonni

Haha, yes sunbaenim. Truth b told, I started picking up martial arts way b4 I watched Empress Ki. But I was not a very keen learner. It was when I watched Ji Won unni's Duelist did I only realize my passion for martial arts and started dilligently practicing. As for archery and boxing, I did try my hand at it, but my daily schedule was really packed and so I had 2 drop both of them. :sweatingbullets:

Thx @zoompi123 sunbaenim for sharing d wonderful pics! Ji Won unni looks like a goddess as always.

Duelist is one of my favourite movies. Cuz it's got dem Damo feelz..

  3. @TheRatchetFool_1023, your admiration for the Ha Ji Won is very impressive even as you said you may be way younger than most of us here or that HJW could already be your mother.

I loved reading your fan account. Hope to read more of your writings here.

Miss Ha would be very delighted to read what you've written here if only she gets the chance.

    Fighting! Take care!

Thx sunbaenim for your well wishes! Do take care of yourself too!

I would love to post more often too, there are a lot a lot of things I would like to share about HJW-ssi. But for now I'm focused on my exams.

@TheRatchetFool_1023 thank you for sharing your first encounter with HJW :) it's such a fun experience, same here I was first caught by her action skills in her dramas/movies but then fell in love with her after I've noticed her easy-going/cheerful personality after I've watched her in variety shows guestings and interviews :D

Me too! It's such a joy to see someone smiling everyday! And her performance in every project is marvellous! (I think that's an understatement)

  5. This thread has been so quiet lately... just thought that i'd share this...

It was mid june/early july last year when I came across uri Amazing Yeoja. It was a wednesday, and as usual i came home after a long and tiring day in school. School ends @ 3.30pm, i reach home @ about 4.20pm. Then i wuld hv about 1 hr of free time. At that time, the 5pm slot on one of our local channels was occupied by Lee min ho's Faith. I watched a few eps of it although i culd not manage to finish the whole series.

Without knowing that Faith had ended its run, i proceeded 2 switvh on my tv, thinking i culd at least watch d last episode. And this was when Empress Ki had started airing its 4th episode.(3rd if u r 2 follow d original broadcast-  Its a 5-day-a-week program, so its sorta like a daily commitment kinda thing)

It was a scene where Seung-nyang was fighting against the mercenaries/bandits to protect Ta Hwan's eunuch. It was the very scene that caught my attention, and i thought 'Damn she's cool'. I knew it was one of those genderbending hijinks so frequently employed in kdramas, so she was a she to me no matter how awesome her fighting skills were. So it was something i dismissed, telling myself that i wuld try and watch EK if i culd the next day.

What's really miraculous, is that SeGa was having a rerun on the Other local channel at 12noon. It wuld actually hv been a normal schooling day, but i woke up late to miss the bus. Thus i spent the rest of my day @ home, dreading the copious amount of hmwrk i wld hv to complete. But i was really lucky to b able  watch d first ep of SeGa, and i immediately recognized the kickass girl from EK. And naturally, i searched google. I found out she was called Ha Ji Won, and then i logged onto her Wikipedia page, which labelled her as 'one of d most saught after korean actresses'. Of course, it was Wikipedia, which was notorious for providing false information, the idea of her being 'one of d most saught after' actresses got me genuinely piqued.

  6. Is there some sort of policy that says we cant' use the word a**?

Sawry for the spammerz, sunbaenimdeul, but I was just wondering if u all r aware that tis thread will b celebrating its 10th aniversary? Or did I get my facts wrong?

And.. one last thing, I know that we cant quote images. But how do i not quote images?

you can just press the 'backspace' key to delete the image.

It is true this thread has been around for almost a decade but this is not the first hjw thread on soompi. The old soompi forum crashed in 2005, so all forum threads were gone including the old HJW soompi thread. When soompi was rebuilt around Oct 2005, this thread (like other soompi threads) was started for fans to continue their discussion on HJW.

you can easily find download links of her movies and subtitles through search engines. If you need help on this, you may send me a PM. i'm not sure but I do think it is against the rules to share dl and streaming links openly in the thread.

Thx so much, zoompi123 sunbaennim! I got so excited thinking I culd celebrate the thread's 10th anversary just a while ago. What a let down... haizz :sweatingbullets:

  7. andra30 and dawnshine sunbaenimdeul, sawry 4 d late reply. I've been busy with my finals, and I'm just dropping by to say hello.

Welcome to HJW thread ! :) I'm so happy to see new fans posting in her thread this is the only way for us international fans to support her and to show our respect and love for her.

Thx sunbaenim! Glad 2 know that I'm welcome here with open arms!

Annyeong chingu! Thank you for your precious first supportive post here. Just want to let you know you're not alone fangirling her :D, *high five*, let's continue loving and supporting our Amazing Incredible Jiwonnie. Actually, to date Jiwonnie's Bali had the highest TV ratings in her record, with SeGa came second...Bali>SeGa>HJN>EK>Damo..etc. Before SeGa, she was already very popular and top in SK especially since Damo which won her a large fanbase. Her HJN also was very well-received even outside SK, such as Taiwan and HK etc. International viewers who followed kdrama then knew how popular and great she and her dramas were. It's true SeGa seems to gain more International popularity, because there were more international viewers watching kdramas world-wide then, it's a romcom and an idol drama. Overall, those who have watched her movie/dramas and who truly appreciate good acting, will be impressed by her. :)

Dear dawnshine sunbaenim, thx 4 the recommendations! I hope I'd hv d time 2 watch WHIB, Damo and HJN. (I'm planning 2 buy the damo dvd) I hv already watched EK (3 times now!!!), SeGa and K2H. As for her movies, I managed 2 finish Closer 2 Heaven, As One, Sector 7 (without subs, but I just wanted 2 see Ji Won unnie kicking the monster's non-existent(??) richard simmons), Haeundae, The Huntresses and a couple more of them. Will try finding Chronicle of a Blood Merchant online. Does anyone no where I can watch it? (BTW, dramafever and viki is not accesible here in Malaysia - shucks)

Ji Won unnie has a very special place in my heart (sawry if this sounds cheesy...). I hv decided to take martial arts lessons (purely because of how bad-richard simmons HJW is when she's doing action) and I'm also currently studying Korean from a friend of mine.

    Cuz she's daebak like that.

She's my inspiration! *cue the Chicago song*

    *starts doing the jig*

  8. Greetings from Malaysia,

It's my very first post here at Ji Won-ssi's thread, and I just have to say that this lady is such a incredible actress. I've been stalking this thread since I watched Empress Ki and started fangirling and having dreams about her. Thank you so very much for providing so much information about our Amazing Yeoja here on soompi.I just started the very lengthy browse through this entire soompi thread, so as not to miss out any of her interviews.

Just a small observation: The number of posts drastically increased since SeGa ended! It was THAT popular!
