  1. Awwww....

seems not all people can respect opinions then

    http://www.koreaboo.com/trending/siwon-confirms-stance-sex-marraige/

On September 11th, Siwon retweeted various messages in light of the recent Davis case about same-sex marriage in the United States.

Known for expressing his opinions against same-sex marriage in the past, the Super Juniormember retweeted a news article as well as two Biblical passages to confirm his position on the controversial matter.

When previously asked about sexually ambiguous roles the actor revealed, “I will respectfully refuse any such offers. While I respect all genders, I do not wish to acknowledge homosexuals as I have been taught that God created Man and Woman with specific characteristics and duties. I realize that with globalization, there are many [entertainers] who do not share my views. There are those who are value-oriented and those who are success-oriented. However shouldn’t an actor deliver an image to his audience through roles he chooses to portray, based on his beliefs in life?

However, fans were quick to note that despite this answer, Siwon does not hesitate to share skinship with other males. An old collage of photos showing intimate interactions between he and Super Junior power vocalist Kyuhyun was brought up because of this.

His recent tweets confirm his stance against same-sex marriage as he stated he aligns strongly with the beliefs of his religion.

The recent case revolves around Kim Davis, a Kentucky county clerk who refused to issue same-sex marriage licenses. She was ordered to jail last Thursday but has been released this Tuesday on September 8th. She insisted that issuing these licenses was against her religious beliefs and therefore refused to do so.

  2. Even I, who is really boyish, am not offended by the re-tweet of Siwon about same-sex marriage. I came to check his twitter awhile ago after I have read the comments on his Instagram and was disappointed to see that there's really nothing to be offended about.

I don't know if Siwon is really a Homophobe or not but I hope he doesn't mind because me and my girl friends are in love with this girl :P

looking at this picture of liu had me asking "what is self esteem" :sweatingbullets:

Lol... self esteem is subjective though and may vary on a personal and professional level. In her case, her self esteem on a professional level is very high but on a personal note, i kind of  wonder too.

    _______________

BTW, aside from being an editor, Liu Wen is a designer now...

I agree with your reasoning. Siwon did this primarily to broaden his appeal in China. I actually wrote this in one of my first posts here. Korea's market is really small so idols that have ambition, want to advance their career in china, Japan etc. I also wrote here that Siwon has not been 'right' in my eyes for a while already. It started even before he started the show. I really think he had a lot of plans including hollywood but his draft notice came and it all had to be halted. Lately I've seen him look much better so I think he finally resigned himself to the fact he has to go now and is ok with it. He might not say it but it's very scary for an idol to be gone for two years which is an eternity in their industry. I remember before Teukie enlisted he whined about it for months! He did get a lot of hate for it though.

I feel that the show has been very beneficial for both. Siwon got more fans in china and Liu Wen opened a whole new door to her career which can only help her in the future after she is done with her modeling.

For those that are feeling that they are 'fooling' the fans for their personal gain if indeed there is no relationship I don't agree. They are doing their job! Their job is to give us a nice show and promote it so it can be successful. I would say they did this very well. I'm content with all the nice scenes and beautiful moments they provided during the show and if that's the extent of it then so be it :)

Siwon has already given up (at least for now) on his plans to break into Hollywood as an actor but he will still go for that dream as a producer which he said is much more realistic.

  5. I remain firm on my belief that they are not gaining anything from staying mum and non-committal about their relationship. My take is that there is really something going on with them, that they are with tacit understanding (mutual understanding) that's why they would rather take the most dangerous path than to come out and politely deny their relationship. They can easily say "Hey , we did enjoy filming together and now we remained good friends." --- (like all previous couples from WGM korea to WGM Global to LFIL have done) shippers will still continue shipping them and buying stuff related to them. They will still flock on the airport terminals to get autographs and still stalk their SNS hoping for a positive sign. Just like the shippers of all other couples. They are not gaining anything but backlash and wrong accusations and headaches by staying mum. Still they chose to.

Edit: The reason for this maybe is that they are really trying to work things out and with the impending enlistment (which is not a walk in the park for Siwon), if things don't work out then they can get out quietly and if it does and people will know then they will not be accused of lying.

  6. @twistbow Thank you for sharing Liu Wen's photos from Esprit's Fall/Winter collection, the theme of which is "Imperfect Perfection".

mun+won reposted fan accounts did show that her Beijing fans welcomed her at the airport around 11:30am 4 Sep, so she flew from Chengdu to Beijing on that day. As to her whereabouts after that, it's anyone's guess.

@siwonie407 Both are missing from cyberspace on the 5th and 6th so far... hopefully they have been holed up somewhere in each other's company :)

Where is Pequim? she is in Pequim now but tomorrow she will fly to NYC according to my friend...

google said pequim is bejing hahaha

one of jiwon's follower comment in instagram say "welcome to china" is she really in china?with her bro?

hahahahaha lol! i was literally laughing out loud when i found out too!!!!

  8. I would just like to elaborate on the "fan giving gifts to both of them" thingy...  I believe those actions from  fans are due to their love and appreciation to the both of them. We do give gifts expensive or not to the people we love not because they can or can not buy those themselves. I believe these fans have the purest intentions though bizarre as it may seem to us onlookers. The best thing that Siwon and Liu Wen can do for the moment is to accept these love from fans and be as honest as possible. Whether or not they are a couple, "REAL" fans will understand.

That being said, I have also like to harp on the positive side of the KPOP fandom. We have been discussing about the behavior of this fandom for the past few weeks and talked much on the negative side of it but we did fail to point out the most outstanding character dominant to this group of people. They are prone of doing charity events in the name of their IDOLs. Thus in the cases where their Idols are charitable/good people, they really emulate it (taking for example the charity event where Wen's manager posted asking for help and ShiLiu fans immediately responded and donated 16 yuan each. A lot of fans donated in a limited time causing the site to crash down---this kind of character is very prominent in the KPOP fandom). They are also prone to spend much money just to provide food for the staff and crew of dramas where their Idols are participating. With the limited knowledge that I have, i don't know if other fandoms are as passionate as they are but so far i have not yet seen any behave as such. :)

maybe they will stop selling their products after siwon enlistment

i dont know abt marketing strategy but they put lw pict in their product

I do believe they will never post pic of liu wen on their official website without her permission

  10. I was trying to find Liu Wen's latest piece in Interview magazine (if anyone finds it, please post it here!), and came across an interview with Chris Gay from the same publication. He used to work at Liu Wen's former agency, Marilyn, and is now the boss of her current agency, The Society Management; in fact, I wonder if Liu Wen made the move at least partly because of him. Anyway, the following excerpt is very revealing and really highlights the opposition Liu Wen faced in making it to the top:

COLMAN: What are some of your biggest achievements?

GAY: Finding Liu Wen. She was the first Asian model and the first Chinese model to ever have a global cosmetic deal with Estée Lauder. That was such a huge achievement, because Asia is so fractured over how an Asiatic face should look. I had the remarkable opportunity to work with Jane Hudis and John Demsey at Estée Lauder on this, and they'd reached out to their Asian offices for feedback, but none of them could really agree. Should we have a Chinese model? Should we have a Japanese model? And so on. Then Jane just decided, "This is the girl I want, and I don't care about only targeting Asia, because I'm taking her global." That was probably the only time I felt, "Wow, I'm actually part of some socially significant moment in our business." Because, yes, the buying power in China right now is impressive, but this is a very visceral thing. When they announced Liu Wen at this event, and she came up on stage, people had tears in their eyes. It was like their daughter winning homecoming queen. Then on top, the Liu Wen story is amazing. Liu Wen is from the countryside, so when she was modeling in China, they wouldn't even let Liu Wen get into the casting. They were like, "Farm girl, go home." There was a fashion editor working with Numéro in China, and they were showing him 50 girls for a story and he was like, "Bring me a girl you don't want to show me." And they called in Liu Wen, and he was like, "Why don't you want to show me this girl? This is the only girl who hasn't bleached her hair, plucked out all of her eyebrows, or messed up her skin!" So he tells her, "You need to leave and go to Paris." She went, and two weeks later, she was walking down the runway for Karl Lagerfeld and Jean Paul Gaultier, and a few months later working for Steven Meisel for Calvin Klein's ck one.

wow thank you so much for sharing!

  11. @iamenn Thank you for sharing the videos - when and where was this taken? Is she arriving or departing? She behaved exactly as she described in the article - extremely shy and flustered, yet so sweet when she kept saying she really did not want them to waste money on gifts for her.

An interesting anecdote on how Liu Wen got her nickname 表姐 Biǎo Jiě, meaning "Older female cousin". Apparently she was once stopped on the street by fans who asked if she was Liu Wen, to which she bashfully said, "No, I'm her older cousin." :P From henceforth, the nickname stuck :D

She hid behind her manager and her hair dresser came to rescue too in the 2nd video..  so shy :-)

Looks like arriving in Shanghai the other night.

they said the first vid was departing beijing and second one was when they arrived at Shanghai :-) But seems like both were in Shanghai the other day
