  1. Like most of you here, I would love for SHK to collaborate with Won Bin again.  I thought they looked absolutely beautiful together in AIMH and their chemistry was explosive.   At this point, I am just anxiously waiting for any news on her next project. I miss her.

I recently saw "My Girl and I" again and it's highly underrated movie.  It received 4 stars on Netflix and  I especially loved CTH's relationship with his grandfather.   With the world crumbling around us--targeted deadly attacks around the world, Brexit, Korean economic recession, US gun violence, etc.--I just need to put on one of her movies or TV  dramas to bring smile back to my face since most of her works tend to be pure, innocent, and sweet.  We watch movies and TV shows to escape our often unpleasant realities and her performances never fail to bring me back to a good mood.

I also agree with SHK's assessment on the dearth of good, versatile roles for Korean actresses in the Korean movie industry.  The industry is extremely male-centric, and thus often the Korean actresses  are renegaded to playing either the love interests of the main actors or damsels in distress in need of rescuing by the male leads.  Many of the female led movies have erotic themes, and the blockbuster movie roles are offered to only handful male actors--mainly, So Kang Ho, Hwang Jung Min, Ha Jung Woo, Choi Min Sik, and Lee Byun Hun.  So, I changed my mind about SHK needing to make it in the Korean movie industry.   SHK in fact has been making a very shrewd professional decisions in concentrating her movie career in China and TV roles in Korea.  She worked with the two of the most renowned and respected directors in China.  In Korea, money, fame, recognition are more readily available for the actresses in TV dramas, and  SHK is on the top in the Korean TV industry. No one is better than her...no one.   So, if a great TV drama role comes her way, I would love for her to accept it.  Please SHK...and preferably with Won Bin.

  2. I am absolutely livid with what has been happening on the net for the last 2 days! Why is SHK even part of the discussion with regards to SJK allegedly taking his non-celebrity girlfriend to LA for vacation?  What does that have to do with our queen? Why are people sending her sympathy messages and looked up with pity?!  Why is SHK being bashed because SJK took his alleged girlfriend to LA?  Again, what does that have to do with SHK?!  I am so pissed right now!  This is just ludicrous!!! While people may have good intentions in sending these consoling messages, in reality, they in fact damage SHK's professional reputation.

SHK has worked diligently for the last 20 years to get to the place she is in now--she is in a peak of her career and is highly regarded by the PDs and the writers for her craft as an artist.  She is in control of her career--she can choose whatever project she wants to work on next because she is currently #1 Korean actress.   PDs and writers are eager to work with her.  And now, her reputation is once again being tarnished by a false "scandal" as people are moving away from discussing her incredible performance in DOTS to focusing more on her personal life.

SHK, if you are reading this (or Ms Park or any member of UAA staff), please find a new project as quickly as you can and move away from DOTS immediately. It was incredibly successful!  It will open doors for you to challenge yourself in new types of roles.   Please hurry. We miss you and I don't want to read any more of these trashy stories online.

Hello. May i recommend SHK's last K-movie: My Palpitating Life. It was a very good movie. You will see a different SHK there, not her usual CF-worthy look. The movie itself has an indie-feel and very heart-warming. It was just too bad that movie came out at the time her tax scandal was brought into light. Plus it has to go against the movie sequel Tazza which is a blockbuster franchise. It did well in the box office at the end of its run though, but it failed to get the drumroll it needed for the critics to take notice.

Thank you @miswah1981 for your recommendation. I actually saw "MY Palpitating Life" and I quite enjoyed it.  But, I thought SHK's character was least developed out of 3 main leads.  SHK basically had only one great scene, where she talked about possibly causing her son's condition because she ran tracks while pregnant.   I really am SHK's diehard fan... I saw all her movies and TV dramas (even "Guardian Angel" and "Sunlight Pours Down"! and  I live in America...I had such a hard time trying to track down these two dramas in 2015!).  I would love for her to do a movie this year, an action or a horror movie where she is not a romantic partner of a  main actor.  And, she should come back and do a TV drama in 2017.

I also loved the photos from the Dispatch!  SHK looked and behaved so down to earth, much like how she came off in the episode 19 of DOTS.  For a top star, SHK seems to be  really humble, kind and generous to everyone, especially her staff and her co-stars.  She is always putting others before herself and giving credit to her co-stars when her dramas do well.  She wears comfortable clothes and isn't afraid to wear the same outfits often, a sign of a very non-materialistic girl.    No wonder she is best friends with YAI!  YAI, in my opinion, is the coolest young, Korean actor. YAI is very sexy, very talented, and his political and social views are acute and forward thinking for someone so young.  I also loved his movie "Punch".  I don't think YAI would be best friends with SHK unless she is also extremely cool chick!   And I was pleased to see SJK happily following SHK and others to 2nd round ("cha")  in the Dispatch photo.  SJK is one tired dude!  He is making nonstop commercials and having tons of fan meetings.   But, SJK's face looked so happy  partying with SHK and others after the  Baeksang Award.   SJK definitely enjoys SHK's company.  Fact that two of the most popular young actors in Korea, YAI and SJK, are so close to our queen, SHK, and love hanging out with her socially tells you just how cool, fun, and all around amazing person our SHK really is!!!!

  4. I WAS initially upset when SHK was once again not acknowledged for her great acting skills at Baeksang, but not after when I learned that only FIVE voters determined the winner and she had lost by ONE vote. That ONE voter, in my personal opinion, was probably influenced by some non merit factors such as KHS being a veteran actress.   Moreover, Jo Jin Woong should have won the best actor award....he was the best thing from "Signal", so clearly, the Baeksang winners were not based on who actually deserved the award but some other criteria--like your image internationally ( I.e. Lee Byun Hyun, Jun Do Hyun).  I hope SHK realizes that not winning this award does not take away from the fact that she a very talented actress. KMY, played by SHK, was arguably the best female character to ever come out of Kdrama.

That being said, I really do admire KHS and how she has handled her career thus far. At the height of her popularity in TV dramas, when she was 34 years old, like SHK is now, she decided to take her chance in the movie industry and shed her good girl image by starting in an erotic movie "Hypnotized". That led to other movie offers and she cemented her status as an A list female movie star.  Her longevity in the Korean entertainment world is attributed to her willingness to take chances by taking very diverse types of roles.  She is not afraid to look "ugly" for her roles, for example in "Coin Locker Girl".  Similarly, in Hollywood, Charlize Theron was not taken seriously as an actress until she was willing to "uglify" herself by starting in "Monster".

SHK is at the height of her popularity.  She has the money, fame, and a top A list status.  It's a perfect time for her to venture out and take a chance in a role that's completely different--it might be scary but I would love for her to take a role that would "uglify' her.  Make people take notice of her acting instead of her face.  Her beautiful face opened doors initially in the entertainment industry, but she is at an age where she needs to diversify her roles if she wants to stay active way into her 50's.  I am looking forward to finding out what her next role would be...

  5. SHK looks so gorgeous today!  She was definitely the most beautiful out of all the stars today.  I don' know how she does it--she manages to be both innocent and sexy at the same time.  I couldn't take my eyes off her...imagine if you were men?!

I am VERY disappointed that SHK didn't not win an individual acting award.  "Signal" was a great drama, probably best in terms of quality this year, but KHS did not act better than our SHK. Often  times DOTS lines were corny and the plots had lots of holes in them, but SHK, because of her an amazing talent, turned DOTS into a great drama. Her acting was the BEST out of all the actress in the acting category.

She reminds of the beautiful actors and actors of Hollywood who also can act. Brad Pitt never won mainly because of his looks even though he is so, so talented.  Leo didn't either until recent and after he got older and got heavier.   SHK is too beautiful!  Judges don't want to award beautiful people....they can't get pass their beauty.....

  6. SHK photos on those three magazines are just breathtaking.  She looked beautiful, sexy, sultry, sophisticated, and innocent.  She is only actress I know who can pull off a combination of innocence and alluring sexy charm.  She was without doubt beautiful and adorable in Full House, but now, her beauty is otherworldly.  Through life experiences, and perhaps some emotional sufferings, she managed to convey so much emotions through her eyes and face expressions.  Her beauty cannot be duplicated via plastic surgery because her beauty shines from within.

Reading her interviews, I cannot help but notice few things. First, she stated that she reads comments about her.  For example, she knew some YSJ fan girls were very critical of KMY because she didn't accept his advances quickly enough.  For her emotional well-being , I hope she stops reading these blogs and internet comments.  People can be vicious and usually their negativity stem from their own low self-worth.  Many very famous actresses throughout world survive in the cut throat entertainment industry by not reading what people say about them in internet and gossip magazines.  For her emotional well-being, I hope SHK does the same.

Second, I know this might be a unpopular view at the moment, but I do not believe SHK is in a romantic relationship. In her interviews she stated that she usually reads or watches movies alone these days. She also stated that she isn't too particularly happy nor sad.  .  She seems to found contentment in her life ( I guess doing yoga helps).  Her views on life, work, and feminism show maturity and emotional intelligence.  I really admire her outlook on life!   You create your own happiness--no one can do it for you and no one person can give that to you.   Life is not a Korean drama...you don't live and die by romantic love.  SHK was burned couple of times by men she loved and trusted.  So, she seems to be taking her time finding her next love and I admire that.  Also, as her fans, we shouldn't perpetuate "scandals".    Korea media and internet comments are full of SHK's "scandals" of dating her co-stars.  Of course, we the fans know these are not "scandals" but we, nevertheless, should not help create another "scandal" for SHK when it seems like she isn't really dating at the moment.   SHK has always been known to be honest in her interviews.  I don't think she will lie or withhold truth because she is afraid of "scandal". She is too cool for that kind of behavior.

  7. Much deserved Baeksang 2016 nomination for the best actress category for SHK! As I see it, her only competition is Kim Hye Soo for "Signals".  Arguably, "Signals" was a better quality drama--the script was something I have not seen in Korean dramas--just outstanding.  However, I think SHK did a much better job in acting department than KHS. Basically, Cho Jin Woong stole the show!  He was beyond amazing!   SHK' s KMY was a multi-layered character--SHK went beyond what was required on script and brought KMY to life.  KMY was flawed person--with life issues (money, career, love). We laughed with her, we cried when she cried, and sympathized with her when she was torn about her feelings for YSJ.  KMY was a most realistic character in K drama land and it was thanks to SHK's honest portray of her.  Baeksang jury should award SHK with the best actress award or they can give KHS best actress and give SHK daesang!

Also, recently I saw "Assassination" with Jun Ji-Hyun and it was a fun film.  But, I couldn't help but think that SHK could have definitely pulled off JJH's character as well.  I think the Korean PDs and the casting directors aren't giving SHK a chance to portray such a character. They see her as a more of a melodrama or romantic comedy actress.  I hope they reconsider their view of SHK.  Everyone knows SHK is a great actress--she can pull off anything!  UAA, if you are reading this, I hope you convince SHK to wait until her next project is something similar to "Assassination" so she will no longer be pigeonholed into playing one type of roles...  SHK is currently a most sought after actress in Korea---I hope SHK choose something completely different--something where she kicks everyone's butts--literally!

  8. I keep watching the episode 15 of DOTS repeatedly, especially one where KMY/SHK talks to her friend at the hospital and tells her she is going crazy and when KMY talks to the stuff animal and imaginary YSJ and tells him "But, you didn't come back.  You didn't come back."   Those scenes never fail to make me cry and the  episode 15, for me anyway, is definitely the best episode, a quality wise.  SHK acting is just speechless!  That's some serious acting skills...

Also, two things stood out for me during the recent press conference by SHK.  1)  She thought DOTS would be her last acting job presumably because of the tax scandal.  She must have undergone a very difficult emotional heartache last 3 years.  Thinking about that, as her fan, really saddens me particularly when it wasn't her fault at all.  So, I am ecstatic that DOTS did so well and she is on top again. 2)  She stated that she was surprised she wasn't so busy when DOTS did so well commercially.   This statement tells me she is surprised she didn't get more offers for interviews/CFs/acting gigs/etc.  Initially, I was a bit upset by the intense popularity of SJK where he could potentially make over $75 million dollars a year and SHK is basically absent publicly. Then, I came to realize that SHK really doesn't care. She was one of the first Korean stars to experience hallyu status thanks to AIMH and with Full House, Asian was in full SHK syndrome.  She went through what SJK is going through now.  Instead of taking advantage of her immense popularity financially thanks to FH, she took time off and went to US to study English.  Then she took a role in World Within for a quality writing and not for a commercial success.  She wanted to grow as an actress.  And that's why I love about her. Acting is not about making as much money as she can. Otherwise, she would have accepted every commercial offers that comes her way.  But, she rejects most of them.  She is financially wealth enough to own two very expensive homes, so I don't think she aims to get as much money from the success of DOTS as she possibly can.

She seems to be just happy that the success of DOTS will bring more opportunities to play better female characters.  She wants to be known as a great actress.  And I think DOTS has done that. Most blogs, news articles, and online comments focus on her excellent acting skills.  She earned the upmost respect from the people in her industry.   People were blown away.  And, as her fan, I couldn't be more proud.  I am also glad she is very choosy about her next project.  I hope she does a Korean movie with a serious Korean actors and actresses (not romantically partnered with a great looking actor with a potential hallyu status  but where she is a cop, prosecutor, spy, etc...something completely different from her roles thus far...)

  9. As SHK fan, I LOVED episode 15 of DOTS!!!  It perfectly showcased her acting range.  Her emotions felt so raw and real, her sadness just bursting through my IPAD.  I know SJK is getting all the attention for his sexiness and charisma on this drama,  but SHK's acting, I am certain, is getting noticed by the important players in the industry.  She is an excellent actress!  She is also very beautiful ( most beautiful, in my opinion, in Asia and one of the most beautiful ladies in the world) but, like her last TV drama, it's her acting that is garnering public interest.  Her vulnerability and emotional depth in portraying KMH is just outstanding. SJK might be very popular at the moment, but I hope, KBS does the right thing and reward SHK the Dae Sang acting award that she richly deserves.

  10. Since DOTS is about to come to an end, I hope SHK and her agency focus their attention to Korean movies.  She has managed to conquer the Korean TV land, no actress is more successful than her..PERIOD!  She has not enjoyed such success in Korean movies, however.

    Some suggestions:

    1.  Romantic comedy with Won Bin:  wow, WB nor SHK has ever done a romantic comedy movie...this will be a massive hit, number #1 at the box office,  for sure.  They need to thrown in some sexy scenes as well here..hehehe.

    2.  Fem Fatale role:  SHK will be sexy as hell...She should start in a blockbuster movie where she plays a sexy, evil, fem fatale.  No one expects this...

    3.  A fantasy movie...where she is from the past (1700 or so) and reincarnated into current Korea.  Very funny comedy..think Miss Granny.

Basically, anything but a melodrama where she dies or someone else dies.  Unfortunately, actresses, irrelevant of their nationalities, have a short longevity for certain roles--before long, our beautiful SHK will be renegaded to playing a mother role.  She needs to diversify her choices so PD will know she is capable of being more than a beautiful face...think Meryl Streep and not Meg Ryan or Audrey Hepburn.

In terms of her love life, SHK seems to be a mature lady who knows what kind of guy is good for her. I am sure she will choose wisely, if she hasn't already.

  11. Here we go again...crazy, jealous ladies creating stupid rumors about SHK...why would she have a crush on SJK??!  He looks like his younger brother!  He is a boy and clearly seems to be threatened by SHK.  She is in a peak of her career and all the Asian men have crush on her (see Chinese actors going gaga over her).  Her past boyfriends were LBH and HB (two of the best looking and most talented Korean actors working today...and she may or may not have had a thing with KDW (:))).

SHK praises her male co-stars (she did the same for JIS) because she isn't threatened by their success. She is very successful and she knows it.  SJK was enjoying a mild success with the Innocent Man before he went to the military service.  But, he wasn't well known in Asia and was not one of the top Korean actors.  He is becoming one, thanks to the success of DOS.  I think he isn't talking about SHK because by talking about her, he believes his popularity will decrease somehow (it's justl my conjecture).

As her fans, let's not even put her name with his.  She is clearly out of his league. He is better suited for someone younger, less popular, less sophisticated, someone like Moon Chae Won, or Uee, or someone like that...not our goddess. It's like pairing Angelina Jolie with Justin Bieber. Doesn't work folks...let's end this nonsense NOW.

  12. I really love Song Hye Kyo's character in Descendants of the Sun--she is real--funny, smart, skilled, socially conscious.  Her acting is sublime as well.  She is definitely the lead here.  SJK is cool and manly, but his character is a bit one dimensional.  He is either joking around or playing tough...nothing more.  As most Korean dramas, the male leads will garner most attention of the social media and in media general.  Korean soaps are watched by the ladies period. Think Jo In Sung who got most of the attention, or all the men of Boys Over Flower.  Song Hye Kyo's beauty also shines here.  SJK is cute and boyish.  Sometimes, he looks too boyish for our mature, stylish queen.  Someone like Won Bin, Gong Yoo or even So Ji Sub would have made the drama even better in my opinion.  They are more of her equal.

I think this drama will help our queen get better scripts for future projects--romantic comedy, action. She is arguably the most famous Korean actress in Asia today. And I really like that she is mysterious and doesn't play the media game. She ignores the critics and doesn't pay attention to the social media.  Thank god.  Social media can be vicious--remember Chae Jin Sil?  Also remember the stupid rumor of Jo In Sung rejecting her advances? Stupid! Who would reject our queen?  Dumb!

  13. I recently saw Coffee Prince and found Gong Yoo to be really good looking. His acting was amazing as well. I think our SHK should do a Korean drama next with him. She looks good with male costar who is very tall--like Hyun Bin or Rain. They could do a supernatural one--he is from another time period, for example. Korean PDs, if you are reading this...please make this happen! It will be a rating hit all over Asia!

  14. Song Hye Kyo is so beautiful, especially without bangs. Why hide that beautiful face?! JIS looked very sexy and handsome in TWTWB because he was opposite SHK. He wasn't so much in IOIL. Hyun Bin and Rain looked the best with her as well. Her beauty makes her male stars shine. Watching All In MV above, you could totally tell LBH was crazy about her..the way he was looking at her!

  15. Just saw My Brilliant Life and SHK was great in it, although I wish they had developed her character more. Even with a minimal makeup and cheap looking clothes, SHK's beauty was undeniable. Also, the chemistry between KDW and SHK was not as explosive as The Love For Sale, but it was quite strong here as well. I do think they make a beautiful onscreen couple.

  16. I am secretly happy that "It's Okay, It's Love!" is not doing so well in ratings. That drama has the same actor, the director, and the writer as TWTWB, with exception of our SHK. SHK haters constantly make stupid comments of SHK acting with famous actors as the reason why her dramas get such high ratings. Even TWTWB, these haters attempted to convince folks JIS is the reason why it was so successful. Well, well, look at IOIO! I got a feeling if SHK was in that drama, rating would have been much higher. People want to see our girl on TV...for her beauty, for her amazing acting, for her vulnerability...

  17. Thank you everyone for posting great photos and videos of the stage greetingsI must say I am really impressed with KDW. He seems to be enjoying himself....very relaxed, funny, and friendly. He also took really good care of SHK..always saying lovely things about her before introducing her. It's great that SHK is at least friends with him, would be better if they were dating. SHK also seems a lot more relaxed ( no more apologizes, yay!). She looks beautiful in all the photos.

  18. I think her agent Ms Park needs to tell SHK to stop apologizing now. The audience seems to not want to hear it any more, and she needs to remember people came to see the movie and other actors not just her. I think KDW is probably tired of hearing her say this by now. Focus the attention on the movie and fellow actors in the movie and not her tax issue.

  19. I am not very familiar with the Korean society but I hope SHK stops apologizing for the tax issue. There is a sadness to her eyes and maybe it's because she is not getting the emotional support she needs right now. No more "scolding" from her friends. She needs "warm words" from her family and the loved ones. It's really too bad she is not dating anyone. It would have been so nice for her to walk the red carpet holding his hands. Maybe, after this premier, she should travel. Go visit Paris or New York. Drink great bottles of wine and flirt with cute men. She deserves it! She is beautiful, thoughtful, kind, and talented.

  20. It saddens me to read that SHK's friends "scolded" her without "any warm words" for her. It seems pretty clear she left her finances to the experts and her mother. She stated in her interview that her mother takes care of the finances and gives her allowances. Her friends should have hugged her and told her eveything will be okay. I

  21. I have watched Naver and SBS interviews about MPL and most of the questions that the female interviewers asked went to KDW. It was almost as if these ladies wanted to pretend that SHK doesn't exist. This just proves my point that some Korean ladies do not like SHK..they are really jealous of her and don't want her to succeed. So, these ladies are making this tax issue into something much bigger than it actually is. I am really thankful that SHK is not dating KDW ( or if they are, thank goodness they are not public about it). Image what the ladies will do to SHK if she is indeed dating KDW?! There will be death threats! SHK, I hope this apologize will be the end. No matter what you say, these ladies will not support you. Also, they will go to MPL movie...they want to see KDW and also want to see how well SHK does in the movie. So, I have no doubt the movie will be a huge success!

  22. It's 3:30 am here in the US but I woke up in the middle of the night to see how my girl handled the press conference. I must say she did an amazing job! She took the responsibility for being unaware of what her accountants had done but stayed firm in her defense that she didn't knowingly evaded paying taxes. She looked sincere and humble, yet she also conveyed this confidence that I am in awe of her inner strength. After this, I am almost certain her career will not be impacted by this. People will move pass this quickly. Well done SHK! I am proud to be your fan!

  23. SHK should definitely attend the press conference tomorrow. She has nothing to be ashamed of. She just needs to keep reminding the media that when she realized what her accountants had done, she plaid up immediately with penalty. She needs to tell them " I learned a valuable lesson about keeping track of my finances and not trusting the professionals I hired to take care of my money." Keep smiling SHK! You did nothing wrong. Also, I hope the MPL team support her by holding her hand (KDW) during photo shoots. SHK really do remind me of Angelina Jolie in that the public love to go after SHK, like Jolie. Anything these two ladies does the media and some people want to put it in the most negative light. I guess SHK is truly the most powerful actress in Korea. The media know that any stories about her, especially bad ones, garner huge amount of attention Fighting SHK! Have confidence....this really is not a scandal. You will be fine!

  24. To applestorm: your comment looks to be supporting SHK, but it's not. It's really passive aggressive way of bad mouthing her. Her alleged scandal is not worse. In fact, it's not a scandal. The Korean Herald is reporting that the National Service Chief Lim had stated that the matter was already settled 2 years ago and the person who linked it now will be disciplined. So, no serous person will think this will damage SHK, and only people who are critizing her are the ones who disliked her to begin with for her beauty, for dating most eligible bachelors in Korea, and her being talented yet humble. They are jealous because she seems to have it all--beauty, talent, money, fame, kind heart, and loved my handsome men everywhere.

  25. I agree with most people here. SHK realized what her accountants had done and paid up TWO years ago. Why is this article coming out NOW???? Someone is out to hurt her reputation definitely. We'll, it's not going to work. People are smarter than that. This article would have damaged SHK if the tax evasion issue occurred this or last year and SHK still failed to paid up. But, she paid and this happened in 2012. This article clearly is written up to hurt SHK and her MPL movie. I hope KDW come out with a statement in support of her. This is really ludicrous.
