I think it is only in this episode I finally understand the meaning of moonlight drawn by clouds when prime minister's grandson asks the queen, if she is really happy. There are always clouds that overshadow the moon or I would interpret is as there is always unhappiness lingering dimming everyone's happiness. Ra On and CP love is overshadowed by a past neither one of them had a say in. The Queen is living a lie pretending to be happy when she has given up her child to gain power and keep her father happy. The Crown Princesses knows she is entering into a deal and not a marriage and her father knows he is literally sacrificing his daughter into the most dangerous life at the palace. But everyone hangs on to the moonlight because no matter the pain the moonlight shines through somehow. It shines through in Ra On's father possibly making the sacrifice for this daughter. The Queen's babygirl is saved by her brother We hold on to the moonlight because if the clouds cover the moon completely we will be in complete and utter darkness. We hold on for any glimpse of happiness in love.

The way he grabbed "him" on the houseback to keep "him" by his side was so manly. We all thought he knew then Hong is a girl. "I will never forgive you," he said to Ra On at the end of the last episode, he really meant it because he really does need her by his side at all time. He is very possessive of Ra On.
But how can he not be possessive when as a CP eventually the KIng...they own everything not just material things but people also....its just that he loves this one...which intensifies the whole it belongs to me from the standpoint of being raised that way.

My favorite kdrama right now. Enjoying how history gets it wrong . HS comes from a time where she is taught the WS kills all his brothers to take the throne because of his own greed. Yet, we are learning he is simply protecting the CP and his father's decree. Wook threw her under the bus to protect his Mom and sister. As unromantic as that is, I would hope not to throw my family away for a girl I just met. At the same token its not really all that clear cut either, WS has so much luggage from being the orphaned child. That is the part of the story that is unclear to me, why does the Mom hate him so much? She is the one who cut his face. Is is because she knew the king favored him? Appreciate any thoughts on that. The incestful nature of the in marrying is gross but understandable as history progresses folks are more enlightened. I always appreciate the saeguks as they always keep it real with the tough life of being royality....its not all glitz and glory as most would like to think.

I have to laugh else I'm going to be very sad that Empress Ki has bid us farewell only to be entombed in the kdrama history books. I say laugh because I interpreted reshowing the beach horse scene as the writers saying...." We told u way back in episode 3 who SN was going to pick...you just were not paying attention." LOL =)) I had a couple of firsts with Empress Ki. My first 50 episode saeguk and my first time blogging for any show. I'm glad I found soompi and the rich, funny, enlightening, sad, disappointed, anxious, conversations on this blog have enriched my life. It's always so wonderful to get many perspectives on various episodes and characters. I love my saeguk endings they're heartbreaking and I'm crying right along with my characters because I feel their pain. there is something so ALIVE about that. Mind numbing murder mysteries only challenge your mind but kdramas they challenge your heart to love, to forgive and to want more love. It's my escape because forgiving in real life not so easy...but it leaves me hopeful. SN, TH. And WY love triangle was always about sacrificing and protecting the one you love. TH took a while to get there but what's most important is he arrived. I will miss my Korean history lessons on this blog...I will just have to find another one. Until we meet again in our quest for kdrama endless, unconditional, life altering or life ending love....make my quest easier by sharing what new or old kdramas are worth watching.....LOL... =((

What are the odds when Court lady Seo exposes Maha TH will see SN exposing Maha as a fake to mean she truly loves him over WY? After all she could have just let Maha be crown prince but she supported Ayu her son with TH. Me thinks TH is being charged too harshly. Imagine being manipulated by everyone and believing your true love is not true. That's too much disappointment for one person to handle. It would be easy to think SN doesn't support any of your choices so he opts for power in the form of regent because love is failing him. It's always about whose got your back and right now he believes SN is stabbing his. So I'm wondering if he might see her choosing his son over WY son as a positive. Rewatched previous episodes, I miss the more playful side of the characters..but such is life..it makes everyone so damn serious. R :x reminiscing and already missing Empress Ki when it ends >

I absolutely love this drama. It's only going to get more intense. She works for a family who can afford to be dysfunctional. She seems to be in a dead marriage. His coming of age and ecstatic that someone finally acknowledges his somewhat of a prodigy. I was so shocked with his Mom dying.
( All their lives are so intertwined it's like a beautiful symphony of a mess. Can't wait to see the choices or sacrifices they make for love and power. Great drama, different vibe...love the music...it adds to the path we either agree or disagree our main characters are about to embark. Will she stick to her morality? Or is she no better than the spoiled brat and her young boyfriend? The music totally builds a passionate attraction between the two....how can one not endorse that? It's alive...lol -

Im not sure why WY should be upset about Maha should he find out. SN thought he was dead and it would be torturous to not only be the emperor's concubine and end whatever future they had together and also tell him there was a baby but he died. Talk about adding alcohol to injury. If you love someone you truly spare him horrible pain if need be, unless of course your selfish and want to set yourself free from a guilty conscience but we could debate that for days.

I can't see why anyone of this group would betray the secret as the people from Goryeo are birds of a feather who flock together. ( well except for Yeon Hwa and Yom the Scum, but they only know the other side of the secret that Maha is not TH son). The weakest link of this group is Lee Hong and Golta. Lee Hong because I could see her being swayed if Taltal showed some interest, I like you girl...give me the scoops...I could see that. Hell, Taltal asked me I would spill the beans and then some..LMAO.... Golta because his unpredictable like that...maybe a drunken night...rambling on, wrong audience listening. But the connection can only be made when SN sees the birthmark. So it has to be SN who discovers it. WY could see the birthmark and be like. " aww you have a star for a birthmark" LOL ...( Wait its three dots how is it even like a star?) Anyhow, its tragic regardless who tells. But they did say they would die together and if there was one way to fulfill that...this would be it. The baby that Tanashiri stole and killed for is their demise. @ carmens ... I thought the same thing but think Wang Go is involved somehow...they all wear masks so no telling... But that is still terrible if Golta involved with Wang Go. Was that a preview of Taltal being the one to bring Empress Ki down in their exchange? I wonder if Maha truly does end up being her downfall. Wouldn't that be the most tragic irony of all, she came to the palace to revenge the death of her son and the discovery she had a son with another is cause for execution ? I know nothing of Ki history so my apologies before the politically correct history buffs are offended. I watch purely for entertainment and Empress Ki has truly accomplished that. Dowager has proven to be such a disappointment
( I applaud the unspoken, unconditional love between WY and SN...it's something emperor can't break apart but also shouldn't feel threatened by. SN knows her destiny is to be empress and she can only accomplish that by staying and loving emperor. This storyline, for me, epitomizes unselfish love. She could give it all up for WY but being empress means saving the people of Koryo. When your young and in love it's easy to forget the consequences of love...Empress Ki reminds me sometimes it isn't only about individual love...sometimes you have to sacrifice your love to make it indestructible, timeless and endless. This is why I love Kdramas your busy following the plot but these love lessons just creep up on you... She has taken on a greater cause for her people and I applaud her for it. -
Also I forgot one last point Dangkise and sidekicks in the crowd at Tanashiri execution..they blended in so well with their black hats......they were so easy to miss with everyone looking for them...LOL Good Night Kindred Ki Community \m/

So this may have been discussed in other posts but I missed it. Aside from the obvious that Dowager is no longer on Team Ki....I'm wondering why was it okay for Lady Park from Koryeo son to be emperor and not Lady Ki? Also aside from the fact it makes for great drama...Ta Hwan has all those other women in court...why not choose from them instead of Bayan niece?

Yeon Chul saw it right... Yeom Byung Soo is really planning to betray Dangkise and snatch the treasure from him.Therefore, four sides are competing over the treasure : The Goryeo side (SN, WY + the Goryeo team + more or less Bi Soo), Baek An/Taltal, Dangkise, and El Plague/JC.If Wang Go happens to be Heuksoo's leader, that could be the reason why only Jo Cham was spared (and not Yom Byeong Soo), and the reason both WG and JC are present in the coronation day.

Oh, thanks to the subtitles, now I know it is not Taltal who will rescue Seungnyang, but it's Wang Yoo. SN was supposed to meet him in front of the Buddha temple, so that means he'll be the one, along with the Goryeo team, helping her to bring down Dangkise.At the SN-DK confrontation, Dangkise said "Today i will spill your blood on the graves of my father, Tanashiri and Tapjahe", but SN was like "No no no no, this is MY line : i will avenge for my mother". EPIC !

Oh how this show continues to mess with my emotions. 8-| Just when I thought baby emperor had matured...Dowager aka El Temur II puts him back in the crib. I understand the show is ultimately about Empress Ki but come on writers...really? Another psycho manipulative empress aka Tanashiri II. I predict Taltal will kill Bak Ahn at some point. They foreshadowed it twice when he kept telling him if he ever becomes Yeon Chul to kill him. It's disappointing to see Yeon Chul's last words become a self fulfilling prophecy and see all these characters neglect the one person who groomed their emperor. Yet, I'm not worried about Ki..she will reign soon enough. It's annoying that WY's men choose to hide that is his son. That is not for them to decide such a fate for that child. But I do find the humor in that either son will be the emperor from Goryeo regardless how this plays out. I understand the dangers to both Ki,WY and Maha but so far plot wise reveals these two to be brighter than all
Poor WY wife she must be the most patient wife ever...lol Bringing back Tanashiris maids as court ladies for the new empress was such a stretch even for Dowager. She needs to be careful who she supports...new empress just may poison her. Overall since I was MIA from forum Empress Ki has been top notch. No surprises about death of tyrant and family. Who knew they would die and Yom the Scum is still alive? I thought the writers failed in drawing the connection of Tanashiri shaman curse to Yeon Chul crazy spurts but what does it matter his on a permanent vacation...lol I actually shed 1/2 a tear for Dangkise at the loss of his father and family. They were power hungry and evil but they did love each other in their own tyrannical way. May they rest in peace. Unfortunately Dangkise will soon join them....I will then shed whole tears...lol Looking forward to Ki finding out Maha is her son. Interesting that Tanashiri with all her shadiness is responsible for reuniting Ki and her son. It's funny we went through 37 episodes to get rid of a tyrant and family..only to see them revived in old and new characters. I continue to watch to see how they get rid of these new ones. It's been grand as we progress to our last 11 episodes. Always on Team Ki from Goryeo... ^^ -
Just watched episode 33 no subtitles * Will SN and TH ever kiss while one is not unconscious? But then again, who needs a spoon when you can be nursed back to health with the lips you've longed to kiss. Come on writers...I'm so over the teasing 8-} * it was heartbreaking to see both TH and WY risking their lives to save SN. They both truly love her in their own way. Sorry guys polygamy is not an option...lol * Ummmm how did frozen get out of her ice palace nd stay out? And the nerve to think she could fight SN? Oh how invested I get in my kdramas I wanted SN to kill her and then I was happy she didn't * El Temur defeat in some form is long overdue. Sixteen episodes out of 50 is not enough time for him and clan to feel the pain of their cruelty. Let's see 4 episodes of torture each for his kids and final four for him. In that order so more painful for ET. Oh wait is he capable of feeling pain? * Taltal is mcsteamy with that manly voice. Motivated to watch other shows his been casted in. * This weeks episodes was quite a roller coaster. Thank you Batolu for coming to WY rescue..your my SN backup if things don't work out for WY and SN. :-* *Some things logic was lost on me If El Temur can frame governor, kill him while everyone knows he was innocent why bother go through the motions of hunting to try and kill emperor. I emphatically disagree with the observation of Kesi or Dangkise as having a more powerful love for SN. His reaction towards SN isn't an emotional protective compassionate passionate love. It's more a sadistic, possessive attraction. That's not love..that's just power and manipulation. It's never love when you want to forcefully rape SN at your first encounter. Maybe I have missed something in the last 29 episodes that is contrary to that. In fact, I assumed he was only remorseful when Yom the scum assumed he killed SN because he regretted he wasn't the one to kill SN as he had threatened. Everyone deserves love...even ET and all his children. The problem is power is more important to them than love. Both TH and WY would gladly sacrifice themselves to save SN if need be. That's the most powerful love there is. I highly doubt Dangkise would do the same.>- >- -
Anyone else notice the more they show Tal Tal up close in all his glory he looks like he could be a character on Lord of the Rings as an elf? He would be the best looking of the bunch..LOL
SN's power to manipulate and get revenge grows with every episode. Makes me nervous to think that at some point while exacting her revenge she fails to recognize she has become exactly what she is seeking revenge from.
Im not complaining ET and clan deserve everything that is coming to them in the form of SN, TH, Dowager, Bayan, Tatal, WY...Get in line folks.. The list of people you have trampled on in your long history of tyranny is pretty long. When ET marched himself around while TN was being accused with the governor's calling for punishment...I wished TH would speak up but then realized, NO ..it packs a bigger punch if you wait for ET's abdicate speech with his fake blood vow. Can't wait for TH to be a true emperor. I wonder, what if Episode 1 was TH's dream? My love radar is just not working with SN and WY. Im not shipping TH either because Miss Ki is on a mission of her own at the moment but at this point it seems SN almost has more chemistry with Tal Tal. lol. Floods of tears will flow once she realizes her son did not die at the river and that, I suspect, will change her coldness. She will still exact revenge for her friends but she will also now have to consider her love and safety for her son. I imagine she can only protect him as Empress Ki else if she has a baby with TH , the cruel palace will suspect she would want her son to rule instead of TN's son aka SN's son.. Oh what a tangled web the authors have woven to keep us coming back for more...I'm excited for the next episodes. For heaven's sake please give Dangkise some more lines than just his shock and surprised look scenes...granted he does it better than anyone...LOL Happy Singles Day tomorrow!!! LMAO :x ( I always call it that because no other day makes it more obvious your single then on Valentines Day)

With regard to the translation conversation.....I'm only concerned about following the storyline. I find myself watching and some translations leave me dumbfounded with reactions such as, " really? That's what that meant? They used that word in that era?" So often times as a non Korean speaker one already has an idea the translation is incorrect. However because I love Korean dramas I understand I am at the mercy of the subtitles and translators yet up to this point incorrect translations are better than none at all. I can still follow the plot and sometimes the most poignant moments are when they don't speak and translation is not needed. I understand Koreans may find that offensive but I watch kdramas simply for LOVE. So far, regardless of the subtitle issues, that message is never lost in translation. :x

Based on my minimal understanding of Korean, and the Chinese subs, the conversation SN and BA goes like this:

Good gosh, why does that line remind me so much of WHIB when HJW told JIS that her heart is the last of her pride.

As an audience I expected TH to give SN the flowers but SN's surprised look I did not expect. Maybe she just wanted a purse because the flowers weren't so hot...LOL

Episode 25 and 26 must be the most rewarding and hopeful episodes thus far in this saeguk. Im anticipating the empress allowing her maid to get the booty beating will come back to hurt her. She knows about the fake baby, killing of the monks so cant wait for that. It was rewarding to see SN beat TN at her own manipulative schemes and see TN get stuck. Also when SN guessed the painting correctly versus what majority thought. I was cheering on our girl...When Bayan tells SN, " You are our last hope." was a touching moment. Although I didn't understand, rather than let the governor's go away unhappy, why did they not tell them they were protecting their daughters from being hostages to ET? Ooh right...the ET will know what they are up to. As strange as this may sound, I feel like TH acts very well with his eyes. You can see his enthusiasm change to a look of , " maybe I can do this" when SN stands her ground with TN. The ending with the fertility drink kills me with TN giving it to SN. I was thinking, really woman? did you forget SN knows all your tricks with killing babies before their born and their moms. SN was tough taking that beating without a whimper....FIGHTING.. I didn't care ffor the matronly thing she wore on her head ..it made her look old.
Are Batolu and WY going to have one drunken night episode...LOL..oops I forgot this is not an American show...LOL Batolu is beautiful...she cleans up good too. As significant as the counterfeit money is to the overall plot...I find the storyline rather boring... The double plots at the same time at different locations always bore me because I am always more interested in what is going on at the palace.

LLTG Liang Qiu Qi and Liang Qiu Fei .. Ling BuYi 's aids or soldier sidekicks...are my most favorite of any drama both chinese and korean in terms of sidekicks. The dynamic of one being clueless and the other all knowing is so endearing. I hope neither one of them dies. That will be really sad. Their interactions and facial expressions are hillarious but their loyalty also helps them shine. Overall, thoroughly enjoying everything about LLTG. I like and hate when Thursday comes around because I want to see the episode but now I have to wait til Tuesday for more episodes. Enjoying the character development of the main leads and perfect infusion of humor. i'm still grappling with wether one should be forgiven if you are left at the alter, so to speak, to go avenge the murder of your family. I am leaning towards no... but...love conquers all right? lol
