I like this young actress a lot. i think among the actresses her age, she is the one i like the most for her versatility.
i watched religiously KING AND I and was impressed with her acting there.
she is well-suited in drama genre, but it is nice to see her doing comedy, although many are not liking her acting, as Geum Jan Di.
actually, when i read news article about a Poll conducted by the BBF Producer, i was hoping that she'll be picked as she was not one of the choices in the poll and Yoon Eun Hye was leading in the poll then. I was deeply elated when i read her confirmation in the lead cast from a blog and i am happy for the success of BBF.
I am more excited to see her debut as a director and writer...hopefully she can produce a high quality work which will be a film-fest material.
she is simply impressive...she has so many talents which are not just whims to try this and that...but she really hones them...i like the design she made for Gummy's album...and hearing her composition at Peppermint really blew me away...
does this actress have anything she couldn't do? she is multi-talented...and i am happy to know her many talents.

i am waiting for this series because i really love METEOR GARDEN when i watched it 6-7 years ago...
and i also watched the Japanese version...
i think the Korean version is different from the other 2 version...
watching this series makes me feel much younger as so many series nowadays cannot make me laugh that much...
most of the series showing are so serious or trying to be funny...this one is really entertaining...
i will not wonder if MBC will start worrying especially after episode 2.
now i want that lamb with the SHINHWA School uniform...it was so cute.
this is a GOOD START for KBS...no BIG NAMES in the series...but truly entertaining and alluring one.

I think with all the beatings DC received I wonder if he can still reach the age of 40 without being invalid.
I mean those beatings were terrible (not to mention the truck scene on earlier episodes). maybe that is why
his relationship with HR was described as "eye to eye" or meeting of the eyes whatsoever...because maybe by the time
they fall inlove, DC is already on wheelchair and cannot move..so his eyes will only be the one expressing his
desires (?) and love..^^,

HR is actually pretty nice to him, she found a friend in him, it's just that she is a bit disgruntled with his choices.
If this was like some trendy drama... Baek is like a dreamboy, you know? Rich powerful tycoon falling for the odd girl.
oh i hope it would be like that.
the writer should see the potential of the HR-BAEK Tandem.
i know there are some who would not want that idea as they want SSH-LDH, however, sometimes two beautiful people cannot assure GREAT CHEMISTRY. you can tell if there is or not a chemistry on the FIRST ENCOUNTER of two people...so far NO CHEMISTRY between SSH and LDH, thus i do not even hope for their love line. but when i saw the teaser of PSW and LDH scene, i actually looked forward to see their entire scene...THE CHEMISTRY WAS SIMPLY THERE.

I hope she doesn't dump him. I cannot see her get involved with THE brothers with a husband (fiance?) in tow. The writer sure is confusing us.
they are really confusing us. maybe they are planning to extend the confusion for another 30 episodes.

hmm..i didn't see a love chemistry towards Baek. And it seems HR doesn't like her. She finds Baek as very professional and judgmental. Well, it seems that DW will die having JH in his heart.
actually the way HR shows her dislike to Baek and the way Baek looks at her, i can see the chemistry...and if the writer will further develop their story, who knows how will the impact of it in the story be. maybe the writer will not anymore connect LDH to SSH, if the LDH-PSW tandem will work.

I feel like he may die? He is a nice character so far, a bit aggressive, it will be too jerky for HR to dump him. She won't turn vile yet... she'll turn vile at the latter part of the drama.
Shulien- It will be very hard not to like HR without subs... she's a mouthful!
All her words have some political injections in them, some historical reflection of sorts. That's why I always wonder what yappy symbolism she represents.i hope they won't kill off BAEK...i like this actor and i am happy seeing him in this series, including his wife-to-be.
then there is Jung Hye Young portraying Janice who i also like.
because of the many series i follow, just to divert my attention in waiting for EOE, i cannot afford to wait for the subtitles. i will definitely rewatch the epis with subs to understand everything. so far i am only guessing from their dialogues, that i based everything from the series of events and make up my own analysis without even knowing the discourse among characters.

so many character in the drama, but the ones that stand out at the moment are HJH, SSH, LYH, JMK and LMS ---just my perception.

i think no kissing scene is necessary if the strong chemistry is there.
the mere look in their eyes is more than enough to me...
with HR having her own show...i am happy that BAEK is there to bring in some excitement to look forward for HR's scenes.

Yes. HJH has definitely improved in her acting, it's leap and bounds from what I've seen from her so far. I commend the actress' effort.. she's doing one heck of a great job in bringing JH's character to life. She even stands out when she's alone crying or thinking about DW. She doesn't need any other character at the moment, to help her shine. Even without MH/PHJ, she's equally impressive.
Yes, I'm eagerly anticipating the change in JH. I was a bit iffy on her becoming really obedient towards MH in Ep 15.. cos it's just too easy on her part, and I just felt she's taken for granted. But given that she's already decided to stay put because of her son, the more appraisal she deserves for her determination.
Maybe she shouldn't have returned from the States at all.. coming back to Korea, she has to face her past again. DW, DW's mother, her illegitimate status.. they're all gonna come back to hunt her down. She's literally ripping off a scar she's tried so fervently to cover up all these years.. can't imagine all the pain she's gonna go thru in future again. About HR, yea.. I agree it's a bit difficult to feel her character (what with the very scarce screen time and info about her plight in the past). Her appearance was somewhat random...and disjointed with the other characters/scenes? Hopefully with Baek in the picture, you're gonna feel HR's character more.
i really feel bad that LDH is getting scarce screen time for her character when she is considered a major character.
i am thinking each of the ladies will have certain parts in the story where they will dominate the screen time.
like most of the followers of this drama, i am not interested on the love line, i am more like on the story and the many subplots of the series.
DC, DW and MH, their story is already an open book...while JH and HR's character development is the one i am waiting to see...JH albeit being compromising and obedient is very unpredictable to me. i don't know what to expect from her in the coming episodes...especially if she will learned that the man she really loves is the real son of STH. HR, what is her history with Baek? and was Baek pursuing her before and then eventually ended up with her sister? i hope to see more of Baek-HR scene to understand better why such awkwardness between them. i want to see how they will confront the issues between them is there are issues between them. so far, i do not see any connection between SSH and LDH's character as LDH's character is sort of a totally different story from the rest of the cast...
woah i cannot wait for my Epi 16 to finish downloading.
more scenes of HR and BAEK...i am starting to like these characters.
PSW still charms me the way he charmed me in LEGEND. he and his soon-to-be-wife were my favorite characters in LEGEND as they have that consitent chemistry in the series, they eventually stole my attention from Lee Ji Ah-BYJ couple. Park Sang Woong and his darling tickled me to the bone whenever i watched their scenes in LEGEND, and i am feeling that same ticklish feeling when i saw his interaction with LDH. it is something unexpected actually, as many of us here await for the LDH-SSH development but honestly, i didn't feel any sparks between SSH and LDH in their first scene together, but with PSW...the chemistry was simply there with the mere look in their eyes.

I managed to get Ep 15 done last night. And it was better than I had expected.. a lil bit more polished compared to the previous eppies I think, cos of the characters sorta had their own moment to shine..
Having seen DC and YR's interactions, I couldn't help but feel sad for them. So DC does have feelings for YR, but was forced to suppress them all this while.
I can't really say he loves her with all his heart tho, because I think DC's just too preoccupied with his vindictive plans, and thus he didn't want to get YR involved. My take is that he probably wanted, from the bottom of his heart to be with YR....but circumstances forbid, he couldn't. I only can say that timing wasn't right for them. (a lil bit nit picky here
, altho I think LYH improved a bit in her acting, I still cringed during her reunion scene with DC. I don't exactly know how to describe her facial expression... but to me, it seemed a bit unnatural and stiff when she was in tears. It seemed like the actress was trying too hard to bring out the complex feelings YR had all this while waiting for DC to come back. (comprising of love, hatred, disappointement..).. On the other hand, SSH was really good in that scene. I loved the subdued feelings portrayed by him.. and the nuances.. everything was beautiful, until the camera focused on YR's face. Sorry no offence to her fans.. I think she didn't nail that scene very nicely. The feeling of YR craving so much for DC just wasn't there for me. But again, it's not easy for actors and actresses to actually nail the right emotions at the right time.. so I think I'll just pass on that. Other than that scene, she was pretty much very convincing thru out. ^^)--
About MH-JH, I was surprised that she's back to her soft-hearted self..towards MH especially. I love how she's able to put down everything, just for her son Tae Ho, and seeing her trying to make ends meet with her feelings towards the Shin family also made me admire her more. Her inner strength and determination is very strong.. To be able to put up with MH's actions in the past, and try to smile and live happily ever after with him, is definitely not easy. Her story's getting more and more interesting right now...can't wait to see her rise up in the Shin Family. I have a feeling she might pay back what the Shin family has done to her/DW when she gets hold of power in future.. hehehe.. and I also had a feeling, during the scene of her with her STH, that they're actually blood-related. I don't know.. it's just that when he praised JH, it was more like him doing it as if she's really his daughter or something. Foreshadow of something more? Or I might have just read too much into the scene..
Lastly..
My favourite scene besides the scene of JH crying for DW in the toilet (it was a really powerful scene) - HR's argument with her mother again. (it's getting a bit repetitive.. HR's always arguing!) I loved Da Hae's portrayal of anger and fury in that particular scene. Her acting there was even MORE impressive than her first scene with her mother.. her eyes conveyed very complicated emotions - anger, sadness and disappointed. Anger - because she's being blamed for something that she did not do. Sadness - because of her inferiority in her family, and because she's not given a chance to explain. Disappointment - because of the fact that every single misfortune that befell upon their family was her fault. Can you imagine how tormenting was it for HR? I totally felt for her.
that is one heck of an analysis of epi 15 ripgal and just like you, my most favorite scene in this episode was Han Ji Hye's bathroom scene.
i told myself seeing her act like that, HJH has improved a lot in her acting. she delivered a matured and convincing acting in that scene.
i really sympathized with her. and i find her character more interesting at the moment as i don't know if she even thinks of making a revenge or what. i am watching the series unsubbed, so i only depend much on the scenes rather than on dialogues. with JH being soft-hearted and warm to MH for the sake of their son, i don't know what is her hidden plan as a form of revenge, especially when the truth will be revealed...will she still avenge for DW when she finds out that DW is the real son of STH?
as for LDH, i am not feeling her character yet...but i commend LDH's good english pronunciation. my ears do not bleed hearing her speak in english. she enunciates the words well. and is it me or what? i can sense a strong chemistry between LDH and Park Sung Woong. when i saw their first scene together, i knew they had a history together because they seemed awkward towards each other and seeing their scenes together again in epi 15, the longing on PSW's face is seen while LDH showed a mixed longing and anger towards him. i don't know...with PSW being in the picture, LDH's character is gradually becoming interesting to me.

i just finished watching epi 12 and i must say that HJH's acting was great. she gave a very mature acting in her scenes after she was raped by SMH.
SMH was equally great to her acting as well. i think the turning point of HJH's character started in yesterday's episode and how she is dealing with it.
so far i have not found LDH's character interesting yet...and i didn't see her in epi 12. all the actors in this series are giving wonderful performance that keeps the series addicting.

I somehow won't mind 80 episodes now bwah! I thought 50 was a task, but this is going faster than I thought.
Her character is going to be complex but she will always be guarded, her Achilles' Heel is love, though.

I honestly do not see DC falling for HR at the moment, let's hope it's gradual.
me too, 50 episodes seem long and yet i realized there is so much to tell in this series and bet MBC might even extend it to we don't know how many episodes...expecially if they will show 40 year span in the series.
imagine tomorrow we are on episodes 9-10...that seems fast for me and the characters are not all there yet...LDH came out only last week and other characters are still coming....before we know it we are on epi 20 already.

Though, I'm an LDH fan I am loving everyone's performance and I am drawn in to EOE for a lot of the aspects of the story since Episode 3 happened, so it's not just for her. If anything she hardly even came out. I watched the original character she was based off through Ko Hyun Jung's performance in Sandglass and it's a very dark but also sympathetic character---let's see if she'll pull through. That character isn't aggressive in love, though. She creates a facade that she is, but not really. She's aggressive in everything else.
I'd love to see her chemistry with SSH but I'm not really thinking that EOE is just a romance, I'm thinking it will be one complicated journey and I'm sooo in. Glad to see you in the thread! And THANK YOU for the new SSH pics!

since i have not rewatched with subtitles, i am only following more the character development. so far i am satisfied with the performance of all the actors in the story. and since this is a 50 episode drama i can tell that every character has his/her own story to tell which has connection to DC's fate. i have not seen SANDGLASS though been hearing a lot about it. but of course my favorite characters at the moment are SSH, LYH, Jo Min Ki(he is one hot matured actor), Kim Mi Suk and Yoon Dong Gun.
i am actually curious with YDG's character. he seemed cool, but then i want to know his intention why he was marrying his daughter off with STH's.
ah! this series has many subplots and i like it. and i hope the 50 episodes will really be 50 episodes and not 70 nor 80.
yeah shulien. I wanna see lee da hae become a strong woman. I know i Am biased towards lee da hae but i know i Am anticipating lee da hae so much also because of her role. Ah its undeniable ssh is hot!i also want to see LDH show a different performance in this series. i watched her in Sweet 18(she was the ex-gf of LDG in the series right? that was when i first saw her), Green Rose and My Girl. so far i can tell she is showing some signs of complicated character, but she has not totally unveiled herself yet...i anticipatete a lot from her also.

i know i would not want that to happen...but i can sense his character will perish for his love ones' sake.

even though i like the chemistry of SSH and LYH, i still want to see how his chemistry with LDH.
i am hoping that this series will continue to challenge the acting of the young actors.
will LDH become evil in this series? if that is so, i want to see how her character would develop.
i am tired of the typical female characters who are pathetic...
i want to see a female character who is independent and aggressive...LYH is giving me that so far...

i saw an interview of Kim Bum in Section TV and the actor is really good-looking, and he gave a wonderful performance really in EOE.
people raved about his acting...and i am glad that SSH is also giving a good performance in this series.

this series is getting intense....again i want DC to stay in MACAU with Grace...i love their chemistry...IT IS SIMPLY THERE.
i like how naughty Grace is and how DC's reactions were to her aggressiveness...
i love them as couple...hope they will be the couple till epi 50...as i think YJH has better chemistry with LDH than with HJH...
however, DC didn't react when Grace asked him about the girl in the photo...if she is his first love....wonder if DC was ever attracted to the young HJH when they were younger?
