Hmm, talking about korean action dramas...
)There's not many such KDs I think. I like this genre so checked some, and all of them I watched (later ones after TBDW, there's no quality action k-drama before it as well
) had just so so actions. Some few k-actors who publish they know martial arts (also high level) can't even do well on screen... guess I'm not biased though
) coz I begun interested him in Iljimae, my first drama of his, as he did many stunts and fighting scenes there :x I think these scenes basically depend on the directors too. Maybe they lack of the good action scenes choreographers. Those I watched didn't have enough directing, and they tend to use many slow-mos or the camera shaking much that I felt dizzy, hehe
Through some eps of JG World, Joongi seems to be an actor who can discuss and persuade the director well to accept his systematic opinions. And since he's very enthusiastic in action scenes, he will discuss and check the directing until he gets the way he wants. That may be the secret why the action scenes in his dramas are better than of many others =D>

Even these 2 dramas may have a few flaws, there are more strong points than the flaws to attract the viewers. But they just described both of them like unworthy useless dramas.
I'm excited too to reach the days after his Gwangzhou fm for the project annoucement, hope it's earlier than previous 2 years \:D/

Begins from 2006 With a slim face on his 1st time large fanmeet to a chubby face in CF photos both with long hair & Kay's hairstyle, then lost weight for Iljimae since the 2007 year end mbc drama awards.
In 2008, he gained weight again near the end of Iljimae filming since it was a sageuk. He might ate much of fans' food presents Arhh... his thin face like of his nowadays in 2008 year end awards on sbs and mbc as an award presenter.
His face continued to slim in 2009 beginning
Till to the mid of 2009 As all we knew, his face became round again since from the near of Hero filming due to drinking everyday from his pressure with his agency.
His face was in the most rounded condition during Hero days, love his sweet smile always. Later in 2010, he overcame the hard situations and recovered again as a strong man :x

He then tried to reduce weight to be these days' constant angular face for getting the nice memorable photos of the army discharge

I noticed in some reality shows that there are a lot of same names Gi-joon in korea though the name Joongi might be only a few.
However, there are many celebrities' name start with surname Lee and ends with Gi)
@ellenajoon Oh, I watched some filming vids (over 10 files which ones are quite long) of AATM in youtube uploaded by the director. But those vids were removed in a few days after AATM ends, I also didn't have time to watch many vids of them and to dl. Those were deleted on the day after tomorrow of my exam last day, *sigh* Maybe bcoz of copyrights?? So, I think new fans might not have watched them. It also included the Arang underwater rebirth scene. SMA wasn't naked, she wore a skin-coloured tight vest covered from the chest to the start of thighs -

I do agree @daegorr about his acting in some parts of TBDW. Why u feel similar with me? Hehe, I also didn't like the female character.

... about the overacted parts, it's only a total of a few minutes in 16 hours run. Apart from them, there were also some which gave me much impression of his expressions in the scenes such as when he could think nothing about his past and start to consider himself as a bad guy Kay due to his friend's persuasion to break out from the car garage, and when Mao gives him the position that Kay's decisions are his decisions ^__^I found those articles in db after A&M ends and read them so I didn't upset coz the DBs already have changed their opinions upon him with AATM :x However, since DB is the most popular blog for their insights in KDs and also some new viewers will probably check his previous dramas by reading their reviews, I did wish jb (all articles tagged to Joongi before his military were written by her) could mention him better instead of the usual joke to his acting and the stories of TBDW & Iljimae
Hmm, talking about quality dramas... I think they can take the viewers' interest from wherever we start watch. I marathon all other dramas of Joongi, and my hectic study time didn't let me watch live for both AATM & 2W too. Iljimae is the only his drama I watched while airing, and gave me that impression though I missed some episodes during the broadcast. I didn't find that taste from Return of Iljimae though that I watched it also from our tv channel about first 3-4 eps, and dropped it due to the slow pace, overacted villains, then a woman's voice talking about the story which constantly appears throughout every episode
)It's a soooo good thing our Joongi is maturing more & more in his senses and acting! I've always liked all his characters (exclude seo jung-woo
) but yet again for the project itself.... as I always said, Iljimae is still winning my heart until after 5 years for me~>> "Iljimae" is the Dynamic #1 and "Two Weeks" is the Emotionally Excellence #1 :-bd -
@patoi I think DB was originated by JB, all articles till around 2009 are posted by her. Her blog gradually becomes so popular among foreign audience and gained sub-coordinators. The negative review of TBDW compared to CH was posted after AATM by kaedejun who recapped some makjang dramas in db, now she left db and doing her own blog.
While Joongi had been proving his impressive acting in better writing/directing projects since before his military, JB's articles of him those days were like she tended to joke much of his fame although there's no criticism to nowadays younger popular actors with not much admirable acting.
However, I'm glad now Joongi has changed her mind on his talents. Seems GF likes Joongi, she mentioned in a voice postcard about 2W that she personally likes him. But I don't satisfy much to them yet. Bcoz they didn't decide him as the best actor among 2013 dramas in which Joongi for JTS character portrayal actually deserves but went to go-soo and jung kyungho, lol. Am I being a greedy fan??

I remembered I annoyed too at the media news, guesses and praises to YSY as the 2nd Lee Joongi, also bcoz it was happening during his military service. Just saw a comment there, YSY more handsome than Joongi, kk... since he's also entering 30 and only younger about 3 years than Joongi, the answer is clear now who has the more charisma
Haha, she likes Joongi a lot. Though she didn't love AATM which was his army return project, glad she likes 2W much again as TBDW to cement her impression on him.
Reading comments about Iljimae posted under it, lol~> It's hilarious to see that there were 2 sides on edge of the taste on Iljimae. Many fan friends I know who became his fans before the military discharge like Iljimae more than TBDW, including me, but Javebeans from dbeans dislike him and his projects a lot before army, her negative views on Iljimae and positive views on Return of Iljimae (which I thought was a boring drama with a makjang flying hero without good martial arts skill wearing an ugly whole head-hidden mask
). The almost all comments under her posts are negative ones too ) Hmmm... its soompi thread I checked after 2W had a good atmosphere though Anyway, Joongi's strength after military is so strong indeed. He seems getting better luck with co-stars who have much chemistry for him. And, he could even melt the ice of some audience who disliked or looked down to him, with the all-round abilities in his chosen meaningful projects! Hope he shakes us and also to many new viewers again with an impressive project this year... ehhhh, waiting him not so patiently

@roobie, @irilight I'm just kidding about Lee Hyori, haha, I thought of her but they weren't be in the level of being in love though. LHR is a stylish attractive lady so many guys would like her, esp. when she was before 30s. I think they seemed close in the bts of the photoshoot and CFs. He had the mixed look of shy and interest towards her as well when she's near him.
In an entertainment interview of the world cup photoshoot in 2006, she answered she loves Joongi as her cute little brother. She's good at sense of humor too, even teased him of his arms not muscular, lol^^ l also like her character in many family outing eps I watched.
Probably, he might tried to meet her often during that time since he told in golden fishery episode that he talked her about his personal problems and discussed about many things.
Unfortunately, it could be LHR who didn't want dating him so she showed her attitude by setting him up with Boa. In order to avoid media scandals, maybe he changed that situation to be it's him who requested LHR to introduce him with Boa, haha... poor guy. This is my thought about his story that time
@irilight I hope so this very high Wang's family rating will drop a lot after its end if Joongi does angel eyes. And the kbs drama scheduled after WF is starring lee seojin (actor of Yisan) and kim heesun so korean ahjummas will love to see them I guess.

This answer may not be the right one, he just gave this opinion for the sake of interest from reporters, keke^^ And it seems risky coz this kind of character can get a negative result if played by a mature-looked actor. So, it's better and worth of time trying a new role than challenging again the similar old character :-bd

@tesanne, @larus me too, still think he'll do angel eyes... If he does, hope it will be just about 20 eps drama, and han ji min won't left him again like hero. The project might not be guaranteed for us but his performance & creation to a character is always guaranteed. The time slot too is not so sure to grab the high rating though, kbs is winning in rating with a big gap for weekend dramas.
Since sbs loves him and nam sangmi also got sbs acting award for her low rating drama last year, let's wait his decision calmly. I'm making up my mind now to accept whatever his choice
) Also wish he can choose a new project again (a movie or a drama) for the second half of 2014 [-O<

because we're mainly thirsty of his performance in good projects. No matter he becomes a family man, I'll sure love and support him unconditionally (Katy Perry's song ). But still don't know why I'm not ready for that in the very near future :-S -

Arrgh... many posts during my absent!
So glad for the answer NO for Angel eyes
Also for the age of feeling.
He likes to do action scenes but as he said in interviews that not every action projects are good, he'd be an actor who wouldn't choose the projects which have actions but would suggest the director and writer to put actions in a project he wants to challenge his acting ability =D>
I notice Joongi doesn't greet fans valentine messages, he greets only on white days. He treats his fans with sincerity, unlike many other stars... love his opinions^_^
Oh yes, there're some lead actors who jump from one project to another. Guess it's rare for dramas to dramas though (such exhausting live filming with short sleep hours) for every year, they'd jump from drama-movie-drama or movie-movie. Really want our actor would also balance like that as those actors soon :x
Btw, I saw the photos at the airport published by some media stations. It's unusual among his trips. That means there's something under his sleeves for a change this year to attract the media?? Hehe, just my wish^^ It'd be nice too if he gives some good news to fans through the tomorrow FM attendees! If he could do 2 projects or not, hope so Joongi has at least one lucky project in 2014
