    [Q&A] 150528 Yoo Seung Ho Lovely Date with Yoopies (Question & Answer)​

     

    This is yoopies note for those who won the prize of Lovely date by Lotte Department Store.
    The five yoopies attended Yoo Seung Ho's event at Lotte Hotel Seoul on 5/28/2015.
    They enjoyed playing games with Seung Ho, or he answered some questions which the staff had got from fans in advance.

    Q1: What is your most pleasant memories in the military?
    YSH: When we got tired of life in the army, I placed an order chickens and beers for fellows at the same room. I made a payment with my card for it, we enjoyed having them late at night. But the smells of foods stayed in the room, so we felt worried if our superior got notice for it. Fortunately no one noticed about our secret.

    Q2: About Park Shin He advertising model with Seung Ho for Lotte Department Store
    YSH: I'm glad to work with her this time. We've been close friends since I was a junior high school student. I feel honored to join as a model for Lotte Department Store.
     

    To my surprise, he didn't remember her age LOL.
    Of course he knows she is a big sister (Nu-na) but it seems he doesn't care about it.. he's so adorable :)

    Q3: If you have a girlfriend, where do you want to go with her most?
    YSH: I would rather take a walk with her. Actually everyone knows me in Korea, so I won't be able to go on a date like others. If I got a girlfriend some day, we would see in my car only, and we would be having dinner in my car. I think It's really sorry for her. I don't want to date at luxurious restaurants, but I just want to eat noodles or gimbap with my girlfriend at ease.

    Q4: Do you have a plan to reveal your cats 삼월이, 명월이 some time?
    YSH: My mother thinks I only should be in public as an actor, so I don't have a plan to out them in public in the future. 
    The only thing I can say about them is that they are Siamese with black and white.
    If I have to take care of a cat of the two, I will take Myong- worri (명월이) because she's very attached to me than Sam-worri ( 삼월이).  Myong-worri usually doesn't care about me, but when I go to bed, she wants to go with me and nestles her face in my palm. 

    Q5: Do you have anything to do in your 20's? 
    YSH: I would like to go somewhere in the world by myself. I'm not good at English, but I want to try my power as 20's to get over on my own abroad. I've been with my manager and he worked well for me since I was a kid. I'll almost 23 years old, but I'm not sure how I can get an air ticket or how to book my hotel.. that's too bad, right? So I want to try alone. And I think it would be nice to stay with a family abroad.

    Yoo Seung-ho, Go Ara start shooting ‘Joseon Magician’

    Shooting for the upcoming movie “Joseon Magician,” starring actor Yoo Seung-ho and actress Go Ara, has commenced, according to the production company WithUs Film. 
    The movie features a leading magician during the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) falling in dangerous love and being mired in a fiendish plot. The shooting started on Feb. 27 and will last for four months in various provinces of South Korea, according to the production crew. 

    “Joseon Magician” is Yoo’s first movie since he returned from the army last December. He is expected to show a high level of expertise playing magician Hwanhee. 
    “I have a high expectation of the movie as this is my first work since leaving the army. A gap of two years is huge for me. However, one thing for sure is that I have more responsibility than two years ago,” he said in an interview with a local media outlet. 
    Go Ara, the heroine of the movie, is also expected to show her horse-riding and martial arts skills, by playing princess Chyung Myung. 
    The movie directed by director Kim Dae-seung is set to be released in the second half of this year.

    Fresh-out-of-army Yoo Seung-ho (I Miss You) seems intent on making his comeback solely in films for the time being. Sigh. Dramaland misses you too, yunno! While cameras haven’t even started rolling on his first post-military movie Joseon Magician, Yoo is already entertaining offers for his next project and considering a title role as a 19th-century folk hero in the new film Kim Seon-dal.

    The movie comes form director Park Dae-min (Shadow Murder/Private Eye) and tells the story of Kim Seon-dal, a traditional folk hero passed down through legends and retold in many forms, including the book Swindler Kim Seon-dal by Lee Wan-geun and the 1968 movie Hero Kim Seon-dal, starring Lee Soon-jae. Kim Seon-dal is an uncommon hero, to say the least — he’s a con artist who outsmarts people, which in turn satirizes the social problems of the day.
    The most famous folk story starring Kim Seon-dal has him giving out money to the villagers who come to the river to fetch water, with instructions to return the following day and give the money back. The next day, he stands by the river and collects the money in the presence of a wealthy man from out of town, telling him that he’s selling the water from the river. The greedy rich man forks over a load of money to purchase the rights to the river from Kim Seon-dal, only to discover the next day that he can’t make the townspeople pay for free-flowing water from the river.
    He’s a trickster type of hero, so more like Jeon Woo-chi and less like Hong Gil-dong, and though he helps people, he also just likes to lay bare people’s flawed reasoning for doing things. In keeping with the central character, the movie will be a satirical comedy that lampoons the existing social order. I’ve never seen a dramatization of this folk hero, but I already like the sound of him.
    Yoo Seung-ho’s reps stated that this is one of many possible projects, so it isn’t a lock yet. Though I don’t really see why he should pass up a chance to play an impish hero. I mean, I still watch Kang Dong-won’s Jeon Woo-chi on rainy days. Perhaps after being a magician and then an unlikely con man hero, he could take that long-awaited detour to dramaland? Not that anyone’s counting.

    A man who's discharged from the military shares his story of witnessing Yoo Seung Ho

    "Hello. I'm not a fan or a friend of Yoo Seung Ho ahjusshi (everybody's called an ahjusshi in the army) but I'm going to write an account of him in the army because he seems to be a really good person.
    First of all, I'm a guy who just got discharged from the same unit as Yoo Seung Ho-ssi. I've seen him for about 6 months. You're free to spread this on Facebook and whatever. He's too different from someone who says "miss me or diss me".
    First story: It was at the military p.x. I went to p.x (convenience store in the army) and Yoo Seung Ho was there. I was thinking, "woah it's Yoo Seungho. He has a freaking small head." He had an aura and everybody was staring at him. Isn't it obvious? A top celebrity is right in front of you. But Yoo Seung Ho-ssi never cared the staring. He went on his way and took care of his seniors. I kept glancing at Yoo Seung Ho as I was shopping. I went to a drink section to buy a drink and he was there. I waited behind him and he was holding the fridge door open. I was wondering why he wasn't leaving and he asked me, "are you gonna pick a drink?" richard simmons ㅋㅋㅋㅋ I was so touched. He was holding the door for me to pick a drink. I said yes and picked one and he shut the door. Only a few non-celebrities do this ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
    Second story: Everybody must be thinking that Yoo Seung Ho must be slacking off somehow even though he chose to join a hard unit as a celebrity. But from what I saw, he was totally the same as other soldiers. There is a task of being a gatekeeper, and the gatekeeper I saw the most during winter was Yoo Seung Ho-ssi ㅋㅋㅋ He was shivering and was standing guard with a gun in the freezing cold ㅋㅋㅋ I felt so bad watching him. As I was watching him with other soldiers, we said that this is the reality of Korea ㅋㅋㅋ The top Korean celebrities are the same when they come to the army. 
    There was this major cold weather training. We had to go to a mountain and sleep in a tent when it was -30 Celsius without any warming products. The infantrymen must participate in it and the trainig soldiers like Yoo Seung Ho are randomly selected to participate because there are too many of them. The ones that are picked are extremely unfortunate... We completed the training in the cold richard simmons weather. The last day was warm, at least. We were folding the tent and preparing to leave. There was a group of soldiers walking towards us. We were wondering who they were. Apparently, there's this night walk between 10PM until 8AM. The infantrymen hate it the most because you can't use a flashlight and have to hike the mountain in the dark when it's -20C. It's not easy. The group was just getting back from the walk so I was like, "woah... they're working freaking hard..." We were lucky because my group didn't get to do it. But then I saw Yoo Seung Ho in the group ㅋㅋㅋ Your heart will break if you see how he looked. He was camouflaged and had black paint all over his face and was breathless. He took off his bulletproof helmet and his hair was so greasy. I'm a man but even I felt bad.
    There was a spare time so I kept watching Yoo Seung Ho-ssi. As soon as he got back, they had a short snack break and folded the tent. While they were having the snack, he kept asking the seniors, "OO-nim, did you have a drink?" "OO-nim, did you eat this?" and took care of the seniors. Crazy ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Even I didn't do such a thing when I was a training soldier ㅋㅋㅋ So called the "aces" only do that. His body was still struggling but he managed to take care of the seniors. Anyways, they had to leave and went to fold the tent. He volunteered to fold the tent by himself. Hah seriously ㅋㅋㅋ His personality is insanely perfect. His position was about to become a corporal and it's the timing where he can be friends with the seniors. But he snowed no sign of a celebrity and was just like any other soldier. I heard the stories before but I didn't know it was like this... He was totally amazing. 
    Please greet him when Yoo Seung Ho gets discharged... I think I'll start watching Yoo Seung Ho-ssi's films... I feel sorry because I feel like I had an easier military life than Yoo Seung Ho-ssi ㅋㅋ One last thing, I heard this in the army... Yoo Seung Ho-ssi has never dated!!! He's motae-solo!!!"

    Which Actors Will Make A Comeback This Year?

    All Korean males, ages 18 to 35, must serve two years of mandatory military duty. Many actors must fulfill this duty at the height of their career. This can mean they face tough competition from younger actors who have become big names while they are gone.

    Two k-drama actors will finish their military duty this year and are already looking for their first comeback project.

    Both Yoo Seung Ho and Lee Je Hoon enlisted in 2012 and are almost done with their mandatory service. Lee Je Hoon will be done this month and Yoo Seung Ho will be discharged in December. Lee Je Hoon has already chosen his comeback project.

    Many actors choose to wait until they are around 30 so they can act in as many dramas as possible while they are still in their 20s. Two years is a long time to be out of commission when you are an actor.

    Yoo Seung Ho was an exception to that rule. He enlisted at the age of 19, shortly after playing the controlling Kang Hyung Joon in the popular drama “Missing You.” He also rejected any publicity surrounding his enlistment and after finishing basic training served in an assistant instructor position in the 27th District Recruit Training Center. He has not yet chosen a comeback role but is considering offers.

    As Lee Je Hoon is being discharged this month he already has a drama in his sights. The actor, who served with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency riot police, is best known for his film work, having appeared as a college student in “Architecture 101″ and winning a rookie award for his work in “Bleak Night.” But he will make his comeback with a drama role. He is making plans to appear in the upcoming drama “Secret Door.” He previously starred in the dramas “Fashion King” and “Three Sisters.”

    While these actors have been serving military duty, several other young actors have become popular enough to serve as serious competition. Kim Woo Bin, Lee Jong Suk and Kim Soo Hyun have a much bigger fan base and will be their competition for prime roles.

    But Lee Je Hoon, 30, already has a role lined up. And Yoo Seung Hoo still has the rest of his 20s to catch up. If his performance in “Missing You” is any indication of what lies ahead, he will have no problem finding a suitable comeback role. Also, Park Shin Hye recently expressed interest in appearing in a drama with him. Casting directors take note!

    The Department of DefeNational Servicee clock goes around and around. Some actors in their 20s are done with service and will be coming back soon.

    Yoo Seung-ho and Lee Je-hoon who were admitted to National Service in 2012, are almost done. They are currently positioned at the 27 District Recruit Training Center and the Seoul Police PromotioNational Service Unit. Lee Je-hoon gets discharged first on the 24th of this month and Yoo Seung-ho this coming 4th of December.

    Yoo and Lee were the most standing out 20s actors when they decided to serve their country. Yoo Seung-ho, who started off young, attempted at a more mature genre of drama and successfully grew out of his childhood image through "Missing You" right before he joined National Service. It is highly anticipated how much more mature he'd be once he's done with duty.

    Lee Je-hoon who was mostly seen in movies, dominated all the rookie awards with "Bleak Night" in 2010. He then starred in "Architecture 101" as an innocent college boy who falls in love and rose as the blue chip of Chungmuro. He is coming back with the SBS "Secret Door" once he is done with duty.

    When Yoo Seung-ho and Lee Je-hoon come back, they are going to have some competition with actors who have been taking their place while they'd been gone such as, Lee Jong-suk, Kim Woo-bin, Joo Won and others.

    Kim Woo-bin and Lee Jong-suk have claimed their places as actors with KBS 2TV drama "School 2013" and SBS "I Hear Your Voice" as well as "The Heirs". Joo Won is on his way with "Good Doctor" and the new "Cantabile Romance".

    Kim Soo-hyeon-I, Lee Min-ho and Lee Seung-gi who are at the peak of their fame at the moment, are also working hard to build their careers. Kim Soo-hyeon-I and Lee Min-ho are currently Hallyu stars who dominate China.
