But surprisingly his style changed a lot in recent years. Maybe because of his age or maybe he feels more comfortable this way. But the thing that irks me is that sometimes Hyukie's fashion is too old for his age. One thing that worries me is the change in his body language. Earlier his body language used to be so confident. Now he looks kind of tired and anxious.

As compared to his dragon club friends he aged too quickly in past five-six years. His friends still look almost same but he doesn't.

Nah, I don't think his own fashion preference has changed in recent years  His 'official fashion' has certain trend, it changes over time...I guess more like, changes when his stylist changes? But then his 'unofficial fashion' has pretty much stayed the same. T-shirt (usually V-neck) (pretty often with Bruce Lee on), jeans or modest pants, sunglasses, HATS or caps, bracelet/watch...He actually wears in the way most Koreans would think 'too young for his age'. But then he pulls it off well lol.

And I don't think you should worry about his body language. At least I don't notice much change in his body language...he is one of the most consistent person I've ever seen, and that's what all his friends say too. If there's a change, I think he's relaxed up more in past years. He still has that confident body language, except for certain moments when gazillion cameras are flashing at him...and he has always been kind of tense in that situation (as would anyone else be).

His dragon club friends def age very slowly, that point given, but then CTH and HKY also looks quite diff from 6 years ago..and I don't really see the point of comparing the speed of aging between friends, when it is not a strange thing to age  . Over 5-6 years, he has aged 5-6 years. It must show both in the appearance and in the way he talks, moves, etc. I guess these changes are what makes you concern...? But I'd say don't be concerned, because it is actually stranger and more concerning if he DOESN'T change over 5-6 years. People should change, they should mature. And doesn't he look ridiculously beautiful, five years before or after? :D

I'm not trying to debate and disagree with every single observation, and it's prob true that he has couple more wrinkles and his manner changed in some way. But then I don't think I, or many others, sense any anxiety, or inconfidence, or other negative changes in him. On the contrary, I hear people commenting that JH seems more relaxed and open recently. So don't worry, maybe a couple captures or the moments you caught was just Hyukie's tired moment, and any normal human being has those moments  but overall I think he's energetic, passionate and confident as always.

  2. Excerpts from OYS interview.
Q: Chemistry with Jang Hyuk is probably also a big source of popularity. How do you feel about Jang Hyuk, after working with him?
"He was a great sunbae, so when I first met him I was worried I will be a burden to him. But sunbaenim is really considerate person. Both when we were acting or not, he was very caring for every little things. Sometimes he gave some advices on acting, but he asked for my opinions first and always was considerate."
"When we were acting, whenever I ask him for help in my part rehearsal he came and acted it for me, and during script reading also gave me a lot of advices. There are a lot of scenes that I think got better due to his input. He was always helpful and warm."
But she also said she had hard times because of Jang Hyuk. "He does a lot of ad-libs but never tells me about it beforehand. Especially when he is with KyuDal, they are so funny I can't stay sane. I really feel like passing out from laughing. It's like they are having a battle of who is funnier. It is impossible to not make NG."

    +
"Now I get why Jang Hyuk is so popular among actresses. He didn't get to sleep much himself, but always his first greetings is 'Did you sleep well? Did you eat?' asking if I'm well. Whenever I ask him if I can practice reading scripts with him, he says of course, 10 times or 1000 times he'll always do it for me. He takes care of me in terms of acting, and always asks for my opinion as well. He helped me improving my reactions. We got really close after filming. We spent a lot of time together, and suffered in cold together, so formed a sort of camaraderie."

  3. Some excerpts from LJH's interview, commenting on SoGC casts. JH part may be repetitious since I already posted some here, but I don't remember what I posted and what I didn't, so just bear with it:P

"Jang Hyuk hyungnim is an outstanding actor. Action, melo, serious, he can act superb in all possible genres. On the first day of filming, I saw him and thought, wow he's really good looking. He also puts a lot of thoughts in his script. If you look at his script, it's all black from notes. He's also great at memorizing his script. When we were filming Ep 17, he had already finished memorizing everything up till Ep 18. He memorizes the entire script, it's amazing. I learned a lot from him."
"Oh Yeon Seo is very energetic. On filming site, JH and I were on more quiet side. JH has super energetic reaction on camera (but is quiet off camera), and I also mostly stayed serious reading scripts. But OYS loved joking around and talking to people. She's a free soul. There was a scene she's dressed up in wedding clothes, and there were little ornaments that made sound everytime she walked. She did belly dance in front of everybody wearing that. She's very cheerful."
"Honey Lee is someone who always gives her best. She is smart, kind and beautiful, perfection itself. Even her vocab use is different...she uses expressions not often used. She is full of knowledge, well-mannered, and is kind to everyone. She approaches staffs and actors first and makes jokes as well. She's a charismatic person, not forcefully but with soft charisma, with self-made jokes and funny expressions. Not to mention her beauty."

  4. I dunno why I am reading up on history at this point when the drama is over....but just becuz I already did, if I were to share a little.
When Wang Gun the first emperor first established Goryeo, he had to get help from a lot of aristocrat clans. But then after becoming the emperor, the existence of those clans was the biggest threat for the nation. Each of those aristocrats had their own land, own army, and were pretty much self-governing, so it was hard to control them and Goryeo could fall apart any time. Wang Gun chooses marriage as a way to control them. It's almost like, he holds their daughters as hostage in his palace. So Wang Gun marries 29 wives, each of the marriage representing an alliance with that woman's family.
With 29 wives, Wang Gun had total 34 children, 25 of them being princes. Now, there was a problem. Who will be the crown prince?Apparently, Wang Gun did not choose a crown prince at all. Because each of his marriage was a political alliance, and each of the queen's family represented a region of the nation, showing favor of one prince over the other would be a dangerous political move. So Wang Gun left the chance open for anyone. He said, "In principle, the first son should success the throne. However, if the first son does not qualify, let the second son success. If the second son also does not qualify, choose among the rest of the sons."
But what determines whether a prince is qualified or not?The power came from his mother's family. (since the father is same for everyone)Thus, the bloody fight among queens' families began to win over the throne. The families with prince grandson all wanted their grandson to become the emperor, so constantly tried to kill the emperor.
So that's the background family history of WS, WW and YW!

  5. leiko1234 said: Just finished reading  quite a few   Japanese articles on the drama's ending.  I was wondering why the court astrologer looked so old.   Well, Those three children were supposed to be Wang So's grandchildren , not his children.
The children wanted to know if Wang So and Shin Yeol ever met again. The old Astrologer said: "People who are meant to meet again will meet.  people who are not meant to meet again will not  meet, even if they try. It can only be decided by Fate, or Heaven's Will."  By saying this, he was hinting at the possibility for them to see each other again.

After a long time, they  did seem  to see each other again.  However, because their appearances did not age, the drama concluded with questions and doubts for the viewers.  Their dream-like encounter made people wonder: Did they really  see each other again in reality, or is it just a dream" The final conclusion is left to the viewers' imagination.

Zhang Hyeok  himself said that he did not find the ending satisfactory enough.  So perhaps we are not alone.

  6. Excerpt from Wang Wook LimJuHwan interview:
It was a 24 ep series with tight schedule, so it took a toll on actors' strength. LJH said, "I can't say it wasn't hard for me. But it didn't even reach 1/3 of what Jang Hyuk hyungnim had to go through. Jang Hyuk hyungnim is truly amazing. He was the mood maker on filming site as well. He is full of imagination and humor sense. I think it is thanks to Jang Hyuk that Chung Hae family could have fun acting with so much ad-libs. Great actors with good synergy reacting to each other really could create interesting scenes. I almost lost my own flow watching those ad-libs, but was concerned because Wang Wook is a character that has to maintain some distance. Hyungnim gave me an advice so I could keep my Wang Wook character."
Regardless of whether their characters are in good terms or not, our actors all seem to be loving each other :)

  7. another set of JH pics today...the man is looking good! He already kinda look rested up compared to last night...the way his skin glows. Which is kinda hard to understand cuz he hasn't had enough time to rest yet..!
and I'll try to make this the last non-SoGC related event pics I share on this thread..I know it is kinda off topic. But thought I'd share just becuz it's only a day after SoGC ended :P

  8. I just remembered,
Didn't Shin Yool say something about how everybody needs a family, a place to feel warm and comfortable in, a place to rest? and that she and chunghae group is that kind of place to Wang So chunha, and that's why she is needed? Didn't she say that to YeoWon?
And how can she suddenly decide to leave him, when there finally is no threat whatsoever....? It's so out of SY character.

  9. eve_wu said: After watched with sub the ending part.. I still dun understand.. They not mention it's afterlife.. right?
They looping the recording video from episode 1 ...
You're destined to meet the one you're meant to be with, even if you try not to be with them. That is the destiny sent from the heavens.
It's weird.. if that Ji Mong said about afterlife (maybe he said the meeting that happened after Shin Yool travel thingy), because the King is not dead yet... Yes the one bothering scene, is that old Wang So expressions...

But I assume he 's sad because Shin Yool not entering the palace with him, she 's back after travel but reject the offer..lol and she's still manage Chunghae Trading outside palace..
That's it.. ^^;  Delusional Girl.. Me Me Me !!! =p

  10. Oops I missed first part of LDH speech, and it is JH related! So I need to post it!! lol
LDH: A real actor shines whenever and wherever he is. Why? Because wherever he stands is the center of the world. Today, the center of the world, is right here at Yeouido, where Jang Hyuk-ie stands! Isn't it great? (looks at JH once) Ah, cute little one.
and then he moves on to the night star speech. lol it's so funny that JH, the great role model for many younger actors, is 'the cute little one' to LDH :)) I mean, LDH made it super obvious that he adores JH from the very beginning haha.

  11. The last BTS film for SoGC has been uploaded, and it shows last filming of OYS, and then wrap up party. They showed LDH (WSR actor) and JH spoke at the wrap up party. LDH said something about night sky being beautiful because there are countless nameless stars there, and cheered for nameless stars (the filming crew). He said he was glad there was no accident until the end.
JH said: Hello, this is Jang Hyuk who acted Wang So (bows). (cheer). Both team A and team B (of filming crew) are present here, thank you for your hard work for past 5 months. It feels great to be able to sit together and eat and drink. I guess there's not a lot of words needed. We went through hardships together, we sweated together... Thank you so much again for making it possible to finish it well. Hope you have a great time! Thank you! (bows)(yes I'm way more detailed when transcribing JH words, what do u expect from a fangirl?:P)

And it was so funny how JH was chewing hard between his words, his cheeks storing some food. I guess he was eating and someone called him up to make a speech. Mr. Jang is already on his mission to gain weight, and he is dead serious about it! lol.

  12. Jang Hyuk said, "It doesn't feel too long ago that I started filming in the freezing wind, but now it has already become blossoming spring. 'Shine or Go Crazy' was a sageuk that made me experience a new kind of enjoyment, and it's a little sad and liberating at the same time to send it off. I also feel like I have some more things left to show as Wang So, that's a little bit of regret. I hope you remember it as a drama that lightened up the beginning of your week. Thank you for love and support."

  13. I dunno if I'm allowed to post this or not..but whatever. but PLEASE DON'T SHARE. I don't want this to go around. Don't give credit to me, don't take it elsewhere and post it. I might take this down later. This is the ending part of the script

S#48. Ending. Ice Valley. (Daytime)<Text: Gwang Jong 3(3rd year of GJ reign) >Icy water flows, and emperor Wang So is immersed in memories as he watch water flowing.Someone comes near. Wang So turns and sees...A young man dressed in Western clothes...it is Shin Yool!

Ok, go on, I'll listen. SY: Hah, really...this is a story you would have to pay to listen, and you are getting it for free, and yet are complaining like this?WS: How dare you talk like that to an emperor.SY: An emperor? 14. dawnshine said: @gumi, was this the writers or the directors' idea? I read at other forums that according to Korean fans posted at DC; it was the director's idea to change the story and thus the ending. Why made it like this? They could have made tones of money if they just make a simple happy ending!! International fans would buy the dvds and support their future productions.  Now they have screwed everything! ~X(

  15. I was pissed at the ending and that was not because they didn't change the history and make SY a queen and make them have dimple babies.
Actually, I'm one of those Koreans who cannot take sageuks that completely distort the history. They can take liberties and create stuffs with imagination of course --but I hate it when things go right against the records. Like, sure they can talk about cursed prince and balhae princess, and that's not in the record, but it is also not in the record that that never happened! Who knows, curses may have really existed back then! Dramas should feel free to take liberties.
But then, I would have been very bothered if they made SY into a queen, and had bunch of babies, and said they became successors of Wang So or something. Now that goes right against the record and existing history, and people fail to take the drama seriously. I mean, why use the name Wang So to begin with in that case...?
HOWEVER, I'm even more pissed at this drama's actual ending. They could've complied with history and still imagine stuffs and still make it a happy ending. Yes, let Shin Yool go off and explore by herself, yes let her chase after her dream, she does not become a queen and remains out of record. But she can still be WS's lover. And as someone suggested, SY's baby can be adopted and raised in palace as the king and queen's baby...whatever, YW also had another lover (altho dead now) and she already knows WS and SY love each other, so why not I don't think it would've been impossible.
Or, even without baby part, at least let them remain as lovers. Give them a happy ending.
Actually, what the writer wrote on the script, I would say that still counts as a happy ending. Yeah, WS and SY are not always together, but then they still maintain their relationship. WS works as an emperor in palace, SY navigates the world as a merchant. Just as WS has his world to protect, SY has her world to protect, her dream to pursue. They each go their own path, but sometimes the path comes across, they meet each other, hug and kiss each other, their love supports each other.
That would've been a good enough ending, I don't know why the director modified it so that it appears they never met each other until afterlife...Now THAT'S a sad ending. I mean, everybody dies at certain point, important thing is how you live with whom until death. And the drama made it so that it seems like OTP never saw each other until death, longing each other. And it didn't provide strong enough reasoning for it. They are both alive, nothing is keeping them apart, WS is the most powerful man in the country now, SY is not locked up or anything she's a free soul, and they just ended up not able to see each other until death just becuz..............like, no proper reason whatsoever. It was a weird ending.
