@nikachan2008: http://www.dramacrazy.net/korean-drama/the-great-kings-dream/Episode 48, 49 with subs added.
@O: both queen Jindeok and king Muyeol (Chunchu) only reigned in 7 years and the 3 kingdoms were completely united under king Munmu's reign (Chunchu's son, Beopmin.)
I had included the biography of general KimYushin in previous post. If it wasn't for him, the 3 Kingdoms wouldn't be united, so if any dramas are made about this period without including Kim Yushin, it won't make sense at all. Yushin's sons are Samkwang and Cheongwang appeared but not play central roles in the drama. Also, they made Cheongwang died in the battles but in real, he lived up happily until he died of old ages. Still, I wonder when will Kim Wonsul appear? He was also Yushin's son and played an important role fighting to expel Tang forces from Unified Silla after brought 3 kingdoms together. Tang was quite evil twerps that wanted to enforce Unified Silla under their control after helping them. -
@nikachan2008: Bidam died after QSD (the fact was written in history ). Queen Jindeok's reign in this drama was just from episode 48 to 52. The wars to unite the 3 kingdoms started around episode 55, and this drama has 80 episodes in total.
-
@nikachan2008: QSD died before Bidam since she was very ill when Bidam's rebellion broke out (Episode 47 in the drama). Bidam and his cabal was captured by Yushin and Alcheon and executed during queen Jindeok's reign. In the drama too, Bidam died in episode 49, he himself fighting off the army and got killed.
Princess Seungman stepped up to become queen Jindeok in episode 48. As far as I know, she was also a good queen and tried to improve relationship with Tang by sending Chunchu there as an envoy and accept changing Silla's style into Tang's style. Her reign was also fierce one with pretty much battles against Baekje.
And later, Chunchu became king Muyeol in episode 52.

I'm a bit disappointed with her new photoshoot in Bali since her makes up and clothing looks dim and simple. When she had a trip to Bali partaking photoshoot there, I thought she would be brighter and sexier... :\"> :x

Episode 39, 40 with subs added.http://www.dramacrazy.net/korean-drama/the-great-kings-dream-episode-list/
Episode 49 , Bidam is finally dead. Since he should have been beheaded after being captured, the drama makes him dies fighting alone, which is a great death scene.
Yeonwha, I don't know whose side this girl with because she's running around between Bidam and Beopmin. Anyway, she also dies in this episode and seen recalled her previous beautiful wedding with Beopmin.
The 3 kingdoms has swept into battles, Koguryeo against Tang and Silla against Baekje. Later, Chunchu of Silla visits Tang as an envoy and having a meeting with its emperor. -

Finish episode 44, an uprising lead by Bidam and his subordinates finally breaks out and the Shillans begin fighting off each other again. >
-
@nikachan2008: I finished episode 43, abt Bidam's death and queen Jindeok's part might be out in several episodes later, 50 at last.
since the subs are so slow, we can't demand them to be faster . Luckily, I've found a site which recaps every episodes in detail with pictures and texts (it's up to 43 now), you can use google translate to get the meaning, it's barely to understand what is it going on.

Life of Kim Yushin
Kim Yushin was a descendant of Gaya royal family, but he was also mixed with Shilla blood.
Kim Yushin's ancestor King Jwaji of Gaya was married to Boksu, the daughter of Doryung of Shilla. Boksu gave birth to King Chui Hee, who married Indeok, the daughter of Jinsa of Shilla. Indeok gave birth to King Jilji, who married a Gaya woman named Bang Won. Bang Won gave birth to King Kamji, who married Sook, the daughter of Chool Chu of Shilla. Sook gave birth to King Gu Hyung, who married a Gaya woman named Gye Hwa. Gye Hwa gave birth to Kim Muryuk and Kim Mudeuk. Kim Muryuk married Ah Yang, the daughter of King Jin Heung of Shilla. Muryuk and Ah Yang gave birth to Kim Seo Hyun, the father of Kim Yushin. Kim Seo Hyun married Man Myung, the daughter of Sukheuljong(brother of King Jin Heung).
Kim Yushin became a Hwarang at 15 years old and trained in a cave by himself at 17 years old. He vowed himself to devote his life in protecting Shilla against the invasion of Goguryeo, Baekje, and Malgal. Four days after his training in the cave began, an old man asked him, "This place is a scary place filled with poisonous insects and wild beasts. What is a noble boy like you doing in this place?"
The old man was named Nanseung. Kim Yushin instantly knew that Nanseung was not an ordinary man, so he asked Nanseung to be his teacher. Nanseung also knew that Yushin was extraordinary, so he taught methods to use for righteous cause and disappeared. When Yushin returned home from the cave, he became a Pungwolju (leader of Hwarangs) at 18 years old.
However, Kim Yushin was limited in Shilla society due to his Gaya blood. He chose to get his sister married to Kim Chunchu as a result.
On 629, Kim Yushin fought under his father Kim Seo Hyun at Nangbi Fortress where Shilla killed 5,000 Goguryean soldiers. During QSD's reign, Kim Yushin conquered 7 Baekje fortresses including Ga Hye, Sung Yeol, and Dong Hwa. When Kim Yushin was returning home from this campaign, a messenger notified QSD of Baekje's invasion of Maeripo Fortress. Kim Yushin went straight to Maeripo without even seeing his family, which boosted morality of the soldiers. Baekje stood no chance against Kim Yushin's army.
On the final year of QSD's reign, Bidam and Yeom Jang started a rebellion, saying that QSD was a bad leader for building Hwang Ryong Temple while people were starving. Bidam encamped at Mt. Myung Hwal Fortress and QSD's army encamped at Wol Fortress. When a meteor fell during one night, Bidam encouraged his men by telling them the fallen meteor was a sign of the queen's loss.
Kim Yushin flew a kite with a burning scarecrow attached to it in an effort to turn the tides. He then spread a rumor about how the fallen meteor had rose up to the sky again. This decreased morality of Bidam's soldiers while it increased QSD army's soldiers.
When KCC became king on 654, Kim Yushin became the most powerful man in the court and eventually went on to become the Prime Minister on 660. Kim Yushin also defeated Gyebaek on the same year and conquered Sabi Fortress to demolish Baekje. He also demolished the Baekje Revival Movement and played a big role in demolition of Goguryeo on 668.
Kim Yushin used a Shillan prisoner in Baekje named Jo Miap to appease Baekje's Left Minister Imja. Yushin appeased Imja by telling him that he wishes to go under Imja's wing in case Shilla loses to Baekje and that he would do the same for Imja in case Baekje loses to Shilla. Jo Miap was able to travel back and forth between Baekje and Shilla and notify Kim Yushin about Baekje's internal affairs and secrets as a result, which contributed to Baekje's demise.
On July of 673, Kim Yushin passed away at the age of 79. He had 3 wives, numerous concubines, and many children. Kim Yushin gave birth to Sam Gwang, Wonsool, Won Jeong, Jang Yi, and Won Mang from his 3 wives and Goon Seung from a concubine. He also had 4 daughters.
King Heung Deok later elevated Kim Yushin to a status of a king and gave him the title King Heung Moo. -
it is very sorry that the drama's plots and subplots don't cover any history at all, in history itself has lots of interesting facts and stories that would have been made a great drama.
Here are another stories are what really happened in history , updated from the same source and person.
King Moonmu had 3 wives
1st wife : Queen Ja Ui was the daughter of Seon Poom. Ja Ui was so beautiful that Kim Yushin's nephew Heumdol wanted her as his concubine. Seon Poom passed away earlier, so Heumdol asked Ja Ui's mother Boryong if she would allow her daughter to be his concubine. When Boryong refused, Heumdol spread bad rumors about her.
Meanwhile, Ja Ui got married to Beopmin and eventually became a Crown Princess. Heumdol was afraid of revenge, so he convinced Queen Moonmyung(Chunchu's wife) to believe that Ja Ui would be a threat to the future of Gaya remnants like Moonmyung. Moonmyung agreed with him and tried to replace Ja Ui with Kim Yushin's daughter Shin Gwang. However, Beopmin refused to let that happen.
Ja Ui could not avenge Heumdol after becoming queen. Heumdol was close to Queen Moonmyung and his wife Jin Gwang was the daughter of Kim Yushin. She even had to accept Heumdol's daughter as her daughter-in-law due to Moonmyung's order. The relationship between Ja Ui and Heumdol got worse after Heumdol's daughter became the Crown Princess as Heumdol won Crown Prince Jeong Myung's favor by using his daughter.
On 681, Heumdol became the most powerful man in the court. He even tried to make In Myung as the new Crown Prince. Ja Ui called Kim Ogi into capital city in order to keep Heumdol's political power down. When King Moonmu passed away, Heumdol tried to enthrone In Myung as the new king. Ja Ui had to engage in a political battle against Heumdol as a result, which led to her death from illness.
2nd wife : Shin Gwang was the daughter of Kim Yushin.
3rd wife : Ya Myung was the mother of In Myung.
In Myung : In Myung was the son of King Moonmu and Ya Myung. Heumdol tried to enthrone him as the king after Moonmu passed away. In Myung was executed as the rebellion ended up in failure. -
@ odeasan: I think so, you should check another sub channels of KBS if they are about to re-air old times dramas. I don't know much abt TV programs / schedules in Korea , maybe I can't help you out.
I've just watched the new episodes and seem like the so called love story haven't taken too much times. The drama now focuses on the fight in Daeya fortress between Silla and Baekje. -
No more Romeo & Julet's adaption plz... I'm too bored of that !! #:-SAgreed with odeasan abt this drama , it looks good in some ways but every of the plots has gone astray and neglected the main topic.
yes, The King Sejong was 2008 KBS drama, I don't think the main KBS will re-air it because the station has too many running new programs. The best choice is download or watch it online. -
@nikachan2008: pure love idol dramas are like Secret Garden, Boys over Flowers, Full House or some dramas like that.
I watched Great King Sejong here:
http://doramax264.com/13858/dae-wang-sejong-2008-k-drama/
i used to download the episodes from uptobox (the links are still usable.) -
A good drama based on each viewer's taste, but a drama which suits lots of people is the one to understand and fits with people thoughts. I haven't watched Tree with deep roots, but i watched Great King Sejong, another drama in my favorites.I'm a fan of sageuk dramas, i haven't watched about pure love idols or something like that once. I have just taken a look at them while translating subtitles.

Hong Soo Ah apologizes for Western wedding dress
Hong Soo Ah of the KBS drama "The Great King's Dream" apologized yesterday for the wedding garment she wore in a show that aired on Saturday.
In the period drama set in the Silla Dynasty, Yeonhwa, a character played by Hong, wore a Western-style white wedding gown with a veil. (Episode 49.)
"[The wedding] was in Yeonhwa's imagination and fantasy. Me and my personal stylist are to be blamed as we went overboard", Hong said on Twitter.
"It's not any of the staff's fault, so please don't denounce the entire team who were just tired from filming in the early morning. I should be the one to be blamed, and I'm regretful".
As she was dying in the drama, Hong's character imagined her wedding to the character who later becomes King Munmu.
Many fans were upset about the use of modern clothing in the period piece.
