  1. Hi all!

I'm new to this thread.  I just caught up on all 6 episodes and I have to say, I am LOVING the relationship between Kim Shin and Grim Reaper.  I love these two so much, even more than the OTP.  Don't get me wrong, I love Eun Tak and her bright personality despite her hardships but the guys love-hate relationship cracks me up!

While I was glad there was a kiss scene at the end, did anyone feel the last two episodes were a bit slower than the first 4?  Especially the ending.  I've felt like Goblin has had very strong endings each week, mostly on episodes 2 and 4.  I mean on episode 2, you had this montage of KS and GR walking through the dark to save ET, while episode 4, you had that amazing voiceover of "Physics of Love" while watching what I felt was how KS saw ET through is eyes and you couldn't help but fall in love with her (my favorite scene thus far in the drama).  Both were just visually and emotionally beautiful scenes to me.  Episode 4's ending with the reverse snowfall felt pretty normal?

Anyway, can't wait til next week, looks like there will be some progress with KS's feelings towards ET I hope and looking forward to seeing more of GR and Sunny.

    Seriously?  Thought they're using extension.

He grew it out to about ear length, as most of the male cast did.  If you look at the Cosmo shoot right after, LJG had cut his hair already for another shoot but the other male members had semi long hair.  The purpose of this is to use the natural hair to blend in the fake hair pieces they used.  You could really tell on Yo and Wook (look at the neckline, Yo's real hair stuck out so badly!) but So's was more natural, but they blended the long bangs into that whole head piece that was like a helmet to give them the pony tail or man bun.

Yes they did but it was only a sneak peek.

Oh I get that - I just find it odd people are now reporting about the web drama when the preview has already been aired  (cause it's usually reported when cast is confirmed before any filming starts).  I did a quick search and it's only been mentioned in the last hour or so (i lie Korean media has reported it for the last 5 hours but still)- felt very deja vu-ish.  I can't seem to find the video now so thought I could see the future for a second HA.

    *EDIT*  OMG FOUND IT FINALLY

About HS's baby (just want to answer some of your question ^_^), why she is already that big after being born and already has a full head of hair, apparently some babies can born with full head of hair :) I even search for it because I want to know how old was the baby when HS died. So there are two alternatives of time:

    1. The baby was born with full head of hair and HS died shortly from giving birth. I don't really know what is the normal newborn-baby size but the size looks normal  to me :) it's just the sound of the baby's crying that didn't sounded natural. I mean the baby looked so quiet when being shown to Jung by their maid but the sound of her crying was loud. It's weird lol

    2. The time has already skipped for months (without proper acknowledgement to us)  before HS died so the baby was already become bigger. Another clue was HS sent WS lots of letters (she started sending it after the baby was born) but still no reply after all those time. That lots of letter she sent indicate time has passed whether it's for weeks or months. Well there's probability maybe she sent it everyday, but HS believed that WS will immediately come after he read her letter so HS may have already waited at least for days/weeks before she start sending a new letter.

The baby was supposed to be a premie (born early) according to Jung so the baby was a bit big for a newborn but the lady who brought her out did say she was born healthy which is not as common for premies either.  Head of hair can happen to some babies as some are extremely hairy.  My son had hair on his ears that eventually fell out (weird!).  My son also came out looking like he was 3 months old rather than that wrinkly skinny purple cone-headed alien baby most people think newborns look like.  He actually wore 3 month old clothing when he was born and skipped newborn diapers completely and was wearing 12 month old clothing by the time he was 3 months.  But the most logical explanation is that simply, they didn't use a newborn for filming because of the risks involved.  If I remember correctly, the first full set of important shots in the US comes right around 6 weeks which is why most daycares do not accept infants younger than this.  While I don't know Korea's policy on that, I do know that newborns and the moms are usually on house arrest right after birth for several weeks and visitors aren't allowed either and you have to eat seaweed soup for like every meal for forever it seems (or was this just my in laws?!).  It has to do with some old belief that babies were more prone to illness/death in the first 100 days which is why they celebrate their 100th day after birth.  Newborns also tend to require more attention to diaper changes/feedings (every 2 hours) which can affect filming and vice versa put unnecessary stress on the baby.  Using a little older of an infant just makes it a little easier for everyone I would think.

in the end wang so says wherever HS is he will find her, maybe they are trying to keep it subtle?? IDK BUT LETS LOVE THIS DRAMA EVEN IF ITS HARD RN.

I agree - as I rewatch the final episode, I may not agree with such an open ending and lack of meeting but it's a whole lot better than everyone being dead I guess.  I wanted So and Soo to get their happy endings in each of their respective time periods but the world isn't perfect so I'll take what I can get.  And the piggy back now has me content.  I was pretty upset earlier but I'm in a calmer place now, with a little alcohol, and I'm moving on.  The drama did an amazing job bringing in an engaged audience and while the ending wasn't the best, the drama was still amazing and the acting was phenomenal.

When he said he would find her, I almost thought there would be a Splash Splash Love type ending... that would have been ideal if neither remembered each other but WS found HS out of pure luck just to round out his promise in another life but hey - the journey was still worth something for me.

I think there was a year long time jump after she almost drowned in the lake.  Although how he went from homeless to certified Goryeo makeup expert - I have no idea.  Alternative universe?

I really believe that the writer just came up with the pregnancy plot at last minute. What was HS doing drinking alcohol with Baek Ah in the scene before she left the palace if she was pregnant. I mean wouldn't she have known? She must have been at least three months in. I just cant with the crappy story telling!!  :angry:

It's a different time period.  I mean up til probably 50 years ago, some people smoked while they were pregnant.  It can happen.  She may have known or she may not have known.  It seemed she knew when the palace doctor told her after she left but it sure didn't seem she knew when she left.  I have several friends who made it into the 2nd trimester before they realized either because they didn't show/have morning sickness or because they never missed their cycle and one made it 6 months before she found out (she didn't show at all until her 7th month).  What I find more interesting is that given the baby's birth being roughly 6 months after her marriage to Jung (he noted that the baby was born early). Since a full-term pregnancy is 40 weeks, that's less than 4 months between conception to marriage.  So WY died, WS became king, small period of happiness, WS married YH, WH commits suicide, CR is beaten to death, HS leaving the place - all in those short months.  HOLY COW!  That escalated quickly.

  7. Only 46 pages since this morning to catch up LOL.  I'm watching it again because I apparently am crazy and love to cry.  The scene with Jung, BA, and WS really tore me apart.  You have WS who only now realized that she had been sending letters and had always loved him, Jung who was in a one-sided love with a woman who not only loved his brother but birthed his child.  I have always sided with WS throughout the entire drama but in this episode, I sided with Jung.  How painful must it have been to lose your love knowing that even in the afterlife, she would have wanted to be with someone else and how noble is it of him to raise someone else's daughter and protect her?!

For those who are questioning the purpose of Soo having a child only for So not to raise her - I don't think that's the point.  I think he's well aware based on the little girl's likeness and Jung's actions to protect her that she's So's daughter.  That's why he asks Jung to initially leave the girl with him but upon hearing Soo's death wish was to keep her out of the palace, decides to respect it and instead removes Jung from exile and tells him to come visit the palace sometimes.  I believe it was the only way So could protect Soo's wish (as well as the little girl) but still see her time to time.

STILL HATE THE ENDING I have come to terms with the ending lol

  8. Ok so I watched it live while I drove into work (I'm bad I know but I couldn't help it).  Just got to my desk where she woke up and didn't remember and she's at the makeup shop starting to remember stuff upon seeing present day Ji Mong.  She leaves work and see's a painting (signal cut out here).  I guess she got lured in and went inside and sees a painting of KG and suddenly all her memories rush back - she's crying.  There's another picture of him standing a lone in front of the palace and she's like "you're all alone, I'm sorry".  Picture turns into Goryeo and BA walks up to KG and says he's leaving.  KG looks bad kind of despondent then there's a flashback of him and HS walking and stopping by the lake  and HS finally says that line we saw in the preview "how nice it would have been if we had met in a different place different time" or something like that.  Back to KG, he covers his eye for a second and looks back at the camera with his scar.  Back to them on the road all happy and he piggy backs her and they run off happily - is this a flashback/dream/afterlife?

    KVQSI23.png

    WAIT WHERE'S OUR HAPPY ENDING?!

*edit* so about the rest of the drama

I tuned in part of the beginning where Soo is painting and imagines So next to her then it suddenly panned to Jung waiting outside and a baby was delivered.  So I guess Soo was pregnant and had WS daughter.  She's ill and sickly and asks Jung to send a letter to WS but Jung thinking that her handwriting was too similar to the King, writes up a new envelope with WS tosses to the side upon thinking it's from Jung.  She passes away in his arms and MAN, I cried in my car and had to redo my makeup LOL.  I felt bad for poor Jung - he was really poignant here and even more so once WS reads the letter and comes storming in flipping out and taking the cremated ashes (which BA is there and tells him he knows their relationship and to let it be, only to realize Jung loves Soo to after Jung pulls out the hair pin - babo-ah!).  He has fully been forgiven by me.  BA meets a little girl (I thought he said Wook's daughter but then when I saw Soo's I thought it was the same girl?) and her name is Bok Su Ni same as the Woo Hee's fake name she gave BA and she's wearing a similar elephant thing that she says she's always had after BA asks her about it - reincarnated WH?!  My favorite part of today was when little Soo runs and bumps into WS and does the same "ACK" holding her head and WS thinks it's cute and asks her who she is while brushing her face.  Psuedo-daddy Jung comes flying in and WS slowly realizes who that little girl really is and tells Jung to come by the palace sometimes, YAY FOR NO MORE EXILE - the two have finally somewhat reconciled!

BUT AGAIN WTF IS MY HAPPY ENDING?  That dream/flashback whatever it was was NOT ENOUGH.   WS is still basically alone though I guess he will get to see his daughter grow up as Jung's but they never met again in the future.  And HS now remembers everything AND SHE'S ALONE.  WHAT KIND OF CRAP IS THIS!

SIDE NOTE:  LJG killed it.  Every scene, every episode.  This drama is his best work yet and I wouldn't doubt it if this becomes his defining piece.  The new generation of fans will refer to him as the guy from MLSHR not the King's Man (King and Clown I think some people call it).

Did WS actually understand HS? I mean what did he actually think by offering to make HS concubine n then make her a second queen when a kid comes in the picture? HS wanted to leave the palace but why was WS being obsessed with keeping her with him when she clearly said so? Imagine if she had a kid then... WS would have told her-ok you go but leave my child

If she had wanted power, none of this would have happened. She could have married the king in the first place. I understand WS was desperate but the HS he loved didn't want any of this in the first place.why did he alienate her even more?

If she has a child, especially a boy that could potentially become the next king - she would hold more power in the palace and people would be less likely to challenge her or use her as bait.  I think he sees that as an opportunity for them to be together and be happy without all the obstacles in the way.  HS was the one who told him she wouldn't give up or leave him even if they didn't marry but as soon as CR happened, she changed her mind and told him she hated him.  I don't know about you guys but that's a pretty strong word to use to someone you love/loved especially one you know has a complex about being unloved for the better part of his life.

I won't deny that WS is a little blind and even naive in thinking becoming king can give them the happy ending they wanted but I don't think HS understands WS at all anymore.  She might have understood him initially which is why WS fell for her, but she is constantly challenging him by taking everyone else's sides but his.  Even the bad guys.  And I don't agree with that.  There is no black and white for HS - she's always in the gray area trying to be 'fair' but she doesn't think about how it affects WS, especially as king.  A true queen supports her king (I hate to say it because that means YH basically deserves to be queen) and a woman who loves her man should try to trust and understand his reasoning but she doesn't. I am probably biased but I have always felt that WS is quick to forgive HS and let things slide but HS is not - she's quick to forgive everyone else but him.  Perhaps it's her knowledge of who KG becomes that makes her more so because she doesn't want to see him like that but she stopped giving him the benefit of the doubt long ago.

If the only woman he has truly loved doesn't support or understand him - who will?  He's a pitiful character honestly.

All the character development just went out the door. What a waste of time. I rather watch King Tajo and the evil mom than this. They were clear minded people than the ones I see now .

Wang So is over for me once he betrayed HS and gave himself to YH. He f****** slept with her due to knowing that HS used to have feelings for Wook and almost accepted his proposal. That was years ago dude, she loves you now and accepted you. But no you had to think as most men do when they hear that their lover accepted someone before them, and had to take revenge by sleeping with another. Not having watched the episode I might and could've missed key elements on why Wang So does what he does, but seeing this picture is why I'm so mad. So if you think HS deserves this than that's your opinion, I respect that. But like I said, this picture got me so MAD, which is why I'm ranting here. They always say jealousy and anger is never a good mix. I don't even want to watch the final anymore, they killed my favorite people. I'm glad Baek-A left the palace and so did Hae Soo. Go away and live in peace for your final days. I am happy that Hae Soo leaves this era, she never belonged here. This world is too savage for her.  God knows I need my peace. I think I need to watch Running Man or read fanfics to get my mood up. Gwangjong has killed me.

Actually that 'bed' scene was before he found out about HS/WW relationship.  And YH gets up from the bed after to respond to WS who asked if she's going to betray her family.  He never touched her - the camera pans away with the sheer red curtain behind them facing each other and then cuts to the scene with the dead bird.  It might have insinuated they did something but I didn't take it as that.  Why would he impregnate her (cause that's her goal) before she's actually betrayed WW?  Strategically, he should wait until she proves herself before doing that, otherwise it's like free candy.  The betrayal scene where her mother asks her to save WW occurs after the 'bed' scene so I'm just trying to be reasonable and find excuses LOL.

  11. RAW is out!!

The beginning where WS/HS are talking about CR - she's taking CR side and I don't think that was right.  She took that one moment of "sincerity" at the praying stones and let that override all the betrayal CR has done to her because of her love of Won.  CR chose Won over HS but HS chose CR over WS at that moment then told him she wanted to leave.  Way to punch him in the gut.

WS wants to marry HS still and make her a second queen and tries to make up with HS but HS lets go of his hand.  Not because of CR?  Yea okay I believe that

UM.. WS/YH scene.  I'm going to take this scene at face value and say they didn't consummate yet - she just confirmed to WS that she's willing to throw her family away but WS hasn't taken any action yet..don't reward her for something she wasn't done!  I just can't imagine him doing anything yet when he still loves HS so much.  Maybe after he feels HS let go of him first, it would make more sense.

HS shouldn't have asked WS to save WW.  WW got what he deserved and again she took someone else's side instead of WS.  Even after his explanations of the crimes WW committed, he still listened to her and decided to exile him instead of kill him and she's still looking at him in total fear (maybe because he's laughing about it).  WTF.  Cut the guy a break - he's trying to get rid of the guy that caused CR, Moo, Eun, Deok death!

Oh damn that talk between YH and HS.  YH tells HS that she's the cause of Wook becoming the person he is.  YH is in tears - I'm surprised and maybe a little empathetic towards her?  (maybe she feels she had to abandon her family because of HS, if not her, her brother could have been king and she would never had to do what she's done?)

I'm kind of proud of Jung.  He stood up to WS about the decree, risked his life to go into the palace, and even interrupted him all for HS.  I'm not on HS side because she's been so wish wash and never fully supportive of the man she supposedly loves but here's this KID who clearly knows she doesn't love him but he's willing to do whatever to get her out because she wants it.  If only WS could turn back time and HS realized she cared about him when he first offered to take her out of the palace. She didn't want to marry a guy she didn't love to leave then but she will now!  BLAH.

POOR WS AGAIN.  When WS approaches HS about the marriage decree at first angry but then says "I know you don't want it" with a smile to try to pass it off and she freaking ruins it by saying she wants it and the sweet smile drops off his face.  And then she says she HATES him sometimes.  Kick the man while he's down!  Makes it worse that he tells YH he will never give her up when she comes storming him about how she gave up her brother and mom.

After WW confession to WS about HS and he approaches HS about it.  Flashback to the glory days (with his beautiful pony tail).  Poor WS is crying asking her to say it's a lie, that it's all a misunderstanding.  :tears::tears: HS face like :o.  Hello - do you remember you just told him you hate him?

The rest is BLAH (already watched it live and commented on it earlier).

The recurring theme this episode is that HS keeps taking everyone else's side besides WS and WS has been abandoned by everyone he loves.  I don't find WS reaction to it all that strange given the circumstances.  He knew she loved someone else before him, but out of all people, his worst enemy and that she begged for his life to be spared earlier so far as to kneel when it could make her knees worse.

I want them to have a happy ending in the present/future but I also want WS to have a happy ending in Goryeo.  Hell even if that's with YH.  Somebody just love & support the poor man!

  13. It took me all day off and on to catch up on 40+ pages I missed from being absent from this thread for 2 days!  I didn't even want to try to pick out comments to respond to haha.

I got right next to my landmark (Reunion Tower in Dallas, Texas) and pulled out my paper to take a picture for the support project .... and forgot a pen.  Yep so I took a picture with the blank piece and tried to craftily put some text on it after the fact.  Nope.  I should stick to my day job.  Oh well, sucks I couldn't get anything to add but there seems to be hundreds already so excited to see how it'll turn out.

From the stills posted, it looks like it's going in the direction of the C-drama but perhaps the future meeting of So and Soo will be a happier one.  I hope that Soo loses her memory or future So remembers her first so there's a little less heartbreak.  I can't imagine Soo being able to start again with all the pain she's suffered and death she's witnessed (partially responsible for) in 10 years.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THE END IS ALMOST HERE!  WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO AFTERWARD?!

A source at Lee’s agency Namoo Actors said Wednesday, “We have confirmed dates for Korea, Japan and Taiwan, and we are currently negotiating dates for other countries. We will update fans as soon as they are confirmed.”

“The fan support that Lee Joon-gi receives from domestic and foreign fans is incredible. His fan base has grown across all age groups and he even has a strong male fan base. He wishes to thank everyone for supporting him and he is extremely grateful,” said the source.

The dates have not been announced, but will be revealed once the tour schedule for other countries has been fixed.

Meanwhile, Lee will hold a fan meeting event next month to watch the final episode of his current drama “Scarlet Heart: Ryeo” with fans. It will take place on Nov. 1 at Lotte World Tour Super Plex G.

UGH I hate living in the US.  In TX especially, no one ever comes here except JYP groups.  I hope he has another tour next year while I'm in Japan................................  I'm gonna be so sad an hour flight away from him yet so farrrr

  17. I'm just checking in to make sure everyone is still alive but see familiar names from the other thread.

There's hope guys.  If there is anything Kdramas have taught me is that if two people of the opposite sex spend enough time with each other, even hate will turn to love.  Then there's the second male lead syndrome who gets friend zoned but either way, they'll end up great friends or more than friends :)
