XE's character, in the First Act, (if I can call it that) was being set up to be the hero of the mythic hero genre. She was presented with a mysterious background, and a distinguished fighting pedigree. In First Act, she was like the Wuxia, female, Harry Potter or Luke Skywalker. Overcoming countless obstacles.

Unfortunately, in the Second Act, when she left YWY she became Antigone, with a tragic flaw. That being her blind fealty to YX's Yanbei promises. This included following him around blindly on the "YX Revenge Tour", saving the Xiuli troops, and the city of Hong Chuan.

In the Third Act, the XE character has become a pathetic excuse for a hero. The character is not even presented in a way that could be called an anti-hero like Deadpool. Instead the XE character has morphed into someone cruel and villainess. (Betraying YWY's unconditional love and support following every interaction.) All while she musters the strength to be a callous and duplicitous love interest to YWY, she is portrayed as a Stockholm Syndrome victim to YX's insane new world order.

My head hurts at the end of each episode at the conflicting character depictions of XE. I find the whole thing both very saddening, and maddening. 

The character could have been edited to be like one of Joseph Campbell's Hero Myth proportions. Sadly, as opposed to that option, the post-production editing provided more screen time for peripheral characters and secondary storylines. The original promise of a hero myth ended up being butchered by the greed of a production company that cared more for profits and a longer run time than a comprehensive and meaningful story. Leaving us viewers, suffering, with a sorry excuse for 21st century entertainment.

Definitely Kim Hyun Joong! The ONLY ONE for me! 

 

HIS name and face is all around the corner. Winning awards, always on magazine covers, news, interviews, TV shows and all.  KHJ is an all around artist. A musician, guitarist, singer, dancer, actor, endorser, model, athlete, businessman.  He is wanted in so many countries for a visit/concert. Petitions are even being made just to see him. So what more can you ask for? He may not be super great yet in acting but KHJ definitely is determined to improve himself in all aspects ever since he was young and I like that about him because he continuously wants to be better not just for himself but for his fans. One thing I especially admire from him is that although he may seem weird at times and indifferent but every word he says you can feel his sincerity.  He's funny without even trying to. He speaks his own mind, very straightforward without being rude. He treats his co-workers really well, like a family. He treasures deep friendship (a big yes for me). Although he can't express his emotions well to others but we know he cares a lot. In terms of physical appearance? Well, he's definitely GOT IT ALL!. His smile alone can make you feel the happiest and luckiest person in this world. I'd only seen him up-close once and I'm totally mesmerized by him.  KIM HYUN JOONG CONQUERS IT ALL!!!!!
