I know people have said over and over again to refrain from comparing, but since this drama is about to end anyway, I just really want to share my thoughts.
Yesterday I spent the whole day re-watching Hana Yori Dango. I was one of those people who thinks it's the best version. I guess I was just too blown away with the directing, editing and the cinematogrpahy(??? tv drama???) because they did it so well and so beautifully, and how they cut and rearranged the story so that everything will fit in just a few episodes was genius.
But after watching again, for the third time, I realized that all those things I mentioned above are important in a drama because as viewers/audience, aesthetics play a big role in capturing our attention, however what it doesn't have that the Korean version gave a great deal of emphasis on is really the content. Sure some episodes could've been edited better and made more beautifully, but that did not take away the essence of the story.
Although we have so much to complain about this version(korean), they made sure that in end everything will fit together and make sense.
In the Japanese version, when Domyouji said that he loves Makino after saving her from the evil girl, that part right there, although sweet and very touching lacked depth because they made Matsu Jun look so childish and immature throughout season1 that its really hard to tell where exactly his love came from. Sure, he loves likes her because she's different and he reminds her of his sister tsubaki, and then to further prove his point, he let Sakurako's guys beat him up. But before that tragic episode, I never really saw any effort from Domyouji that he wants Makino to know that she is an important person in his life. They also did not give much emphasis on the friendship of Rui and Makino because he's always so guarded around her. All in all, the Japanese version was beautifully made, hands down, but it lacked character development on the part of domyouji because we don't really get to see his transition into maturity. Makino character remained a steadfast strong weed so guess that's one of the plus point of the version.
Now for the korean version, I have way to many complaints that I'm not even going to bother with them. In season 1, although it was fast paced, it had enough time to develop each character, except for woobin, poor him. We get a glimpse of how JiHoo will eventually be Jandi's soulmate. His fireman stunt was just a spoiler of what is to come in season 2. The way they developed JunPyo's character was very well done, although it was almost to the point that the drama revolved around him, however, we were able to clearly see his feelings for Jandi. All those times he took care of her and saved her, and all those times when his mother came in the way, he would call Jihoo to take care of Jandi.
Jandi, everyone was so annoyed with her acting, I was one of them, but now that I look back, it actually made sense that they made Jandi that way. In the other versions, Makino and Shancai were both so guarded toward DOmyouji and not very expressive with their feelings, but Jandi doesn't hide her feelings for JunPyo. She lets him take care of her and she doesn't turn her head away when he's about to kiss her and did not make her look as if she's allergic to him(shancai was somewhat similar to Jandi but less vocal about her feelings) Those little things showed that Jandi also has feelings for JunPyo
I don't know what I'm trying to say anymore, not very good with long essays.
Anyway, I think editing directing and even sometimes acting aside, when it comes to content and how each character was developed, the korean vesion did it best. We know clearly why Jandi and JunPyo love each other and why they deserve to end up together. JunPYo may be a little weak but his character had proven himself enough for us to know how much he loves Jandi.

A date at the zoo with a kid was in the manga but it happened somewhere in the middle and the date with just JD and JP where mama kang was interfering was toward the end, so I'm guessing they'll be doing two stories with one go again.
I really hope that this date is just Jandi and JunPyo alone, because if they include the kid then that will just be really out place with how things are right now.
Right now, I'm hoping that they'll extend this drama to 27 episodes. We've already endured episodes 15- 21 that was dragged for way too long so why not 2 more episodes so that the production will have enough time for all the remaining story line and end this drama with a bang.
The extended episodes will sort of compensate for the mess that they gave to us in 15-21.
There's just so much more to be done, and since the whole of season 2, Jd and JP were barely together, I really think that they need enough time to establish the relationship again.

I think the whole rainy day break up is as of the moment, absolutely impossible. What else is there left for them to break up for?
It won't make any sense if they break-up again so I think they incorporated the whole JP ignoring JD because of his responsibility with his billion-employees and the tragic heart-breaking rainy day break-up in Macau.
But inthe rainy day break-up, it was supposed to be Jandi who'll say that she doesn't love JP, whoever, in Macau, it was JP who hurt Jandi, so I don't really know anymore. Everything in this version has become messed up since season 2 started.

Do you guys think that MinJi, the evil girl from season 1 will make a final appearance before the drama ends?
I feel like she and Jandi needs some sort of closure. Their friendship did not end in good terms but i'd really like them to reconcile and actually start a genuine relationship.

I'm new to this thread...became a fan around an hour ago.
I just saw the mbc ever1 idol with snsd and that's how I got to know them.
The only 2pm member I knew before all this was Nichkhun and also Junsu, but I don't even know what he looks like,
I'm just familiar with the name.
Anyway, after watching the show, I'm now officially a chansung fan. I thought he was really charming and was rooting for him all the way. I never thought I'll fan-girl over someone soon because I'm still madly in love with Lee Min Ho, but now they're almost on the same level.

Are those soccer F4 pics for tomorrow's episode? When are they going to find time to play soccer?
So apparently, the F4 excels at: basketball, riflery, swimming, skiing, soccer, race car driving, golf, horseback riding, ice hockey.
They could enter themselves into the Olympics as one team.
Well, they're rich people after all so those kinds of sports are their leisure.
Besides guys are naturally into sports anyway, whether they play it themselves or are just mere spectators.

After seeing the preview for ep 21, when JK was apologizing to JD and telling her that she has top repau Jandi forever, I thought that was really such a touching scene. It was only the preview but it's definitely what I'll be waiting for the most in ep 21.
JK is a good person and even though I think that this finace arc dragged on for way too long, i always enjoyed her scenes because of the good acting.
I can't wait when JK will also stand up to the evil mommy dearest to fight for JD and JP. I have a feeling that she will play a really big role inmaking the witch see how good of a person JD is.

Well, if what's shown in the preview really is what we think, that Junpyo has to kneel down to prove his love for Jandi, then isn't it the biggest thing ever??? Junpyo is the man with the biggest pride in the world, there's no way he would even slightly bow to anyone... Now by kneeling down, it means he's willing to let go of all his pride only for Jandi... it doesn't say anything about his relationship with Jaekyung at all.. it only shows how much he loves Jandi.. and how much he has matured to be able to do things properly and responsibly...
Thank you for this. I'm easily swayed by other people's opinion, so when others comment that JunPyo kneeling down is sign of his weakness, then that's the image that gets stuck in my mind.
But now thanks to you, I'm able to see it in a much better light.
Yes, JunPyo is not JunPyo without his pride, so for him to do this, it's ALMOST enough for me to know that he loves Jandi THAT much.
It's past 12 here but I can't sleep, in fact I don't want to sleep...only a few hours until arashivox releases her subs. the pain!

Also, some people said that he should kneel to Jandi, I don't agree with that.
I don't want to see him begging Jandi for forgiveness because to me THAT would be a sign that he is a weak person.
He can prove his love and apology in so many ways, but kneeling and asking for forgiveness will make him seem...like he wronged Jandi beyond repair and that it was only jandi who suffered throughout this whole ordeal.
It'll seem like he was in a trance all this time, woke up and realized jandi was crying and then suddenly he'll just kneel down and say sorry, idk, it's just too blah for me.

I think this is my first time posting here...
So i was one of those people who thought that Goo Hye Sun was too cutesy for the role, even complained about her cute poses on BoF promotional pictures.
After episode 1, I was like, hey she's not that cutesy/annoying/typical korean drama heroine after all, in fact my impression changed right away. I thought the way they made Makino in this version was really interesting because she's somehow always pissed off at something, like she's angry at the world which makes her really funny to watch.
However, even after a few episodes of BoF, I could still think of a few artists that I've wanted to play the part instead. But now that BoF is about to end, I've actually grown attached to Goo Hye Sun that I can't think of anyone who would've fit the role of Geum Jandi to a perfect T but her.
I must've have been crazy to think that Goo Hye Sun wasn't perfect for the role.
When BoF ends, I think I'm going to miss Goo Hye SUn the most.
The only other drama I've seen of her is pure 19 and I only saw like 15 episodes of it in random in KBS World.
I think the reason why I didn't enjoy it as much as BoF is because Lee Min Ho wasn't her partner, hehe. Even if in half of BoF they weren't actually together, but I think they really have a subtle chemistry, it's not like "gah! I wan't them to end up in real life!" kind of chemistry, but more like they just seem so natural when they're together and they're so comfortable to look at.
Long story short, I don't think I'll be able to handle seeing Hye Sun with a different leading man in the future.(I know she also has a lot of chemistry with HyungJoon, but he's not the main lead, get it?)

and keeping his silence over Jaekyung's lies, many of you Junpyo-Jandi shippers probably feel the same :X
I don't know the reason behind his not-telling-syndrome yet (it might be revealed in later eps? ),
all I can say is that withholding information is not the same as lying, Jihoo didn't make things up like what Jaekyung did,
Jandi doesn't know Jaekyung was rejected by Junpyo, so Jaekyung could have continued fighting for her love instead
of making up lies to her one and only friend - Jandi. If Junpyo ever found out about Jaekyung's lies, he probably
wouldn't care she's a woman and beat her up..
I think those people from the chatroom misunderstood the situation...or was it me...?
Anyway, what I gathered from that scene was, when JK, JD and JH were having breakfast, JK said that JP was too embarrassed so he left early. That's exactly what JH saw; JP leaving early. He and JD probably both believed the lies that JK said. I think JH does not also know that JK was rejected, so there really isn't much to tell to JD.
What JK told them during breakfast is what they both believed.

All this time Geum Jan Di was just dreaming.
It turns out that she fell a sleep in class and then when she wakes up she realizes that she's late for a club meeting or whatever and as she's running down the hall she bumps right into Lee MinHo.
The end of Boys over flowers will be the beginning for It started With a kiss.
It'll be like huge cliff hanger. Like the audience doesn't exactly know what the heck the ending was and then a few months later, Group8 will announce It started with a kiss korean version and will take off from where BoF ended.

but who knows.....he may have a good voice........ and may prompt him to release a single in the future...

Just some random thoughts that I'd like to share.
After the way JunPyo has been treating Jandi since they went to Macau, I love how Jandi never felt hate for JunPyo,
in fact, she's even angry at herself because for all the kind things that JunPyo had done for her in the past, she was never able to thank him and tell him that she also likes him. Jandi is so selfless that she even managed to make herself the bad guy.
If they'll really do the amnesia arc, I've always wanted JunPyo(Domyouji)to never gain his memory back, and just fall in love Jandi (makino) because he feels it in his heart that Jandi is the one destined to be with him.
In the japanese version, Jun kept rejecting Mao and treated her worse than how junpyo is with Jandi now, during their ski-trip and Mao got lost in the snow, Jun still with no memories just went out on his own and tried to find Mao because he said that he just felt the need to save her. Too bad he gained his memory the very same night.
With this version, I'd really like it if during his amnesia, JunPyo will keep on rejecting and hurting Jandi, but Jandi will do everything she can to gain his memory and his heart back and that's how JunPyo will eventually fall for her. Then when they're old, that's the only time when JunPyo will slowly gain the memories that he lost.

I just finished watching both episodes.
Even though they were such a drag, i did find one scene to be particularly memorable.
When JunPyo had flashbacks on how he cooked for Jandi and gave her a bracelet/anklet which mirrored exactly what JK did to (with the breakfast and the rings) him. I guess he realized that during those times, he was trying to force himself and also his love on Jandi.
He probably thinks that he sort of forced himself onto Jandi which is really sad...

JJY dun deserve any comment fr any of us, i dun think anyone would like to be talk abt by others when they died. Those photos r TERRIBLE!! Does it made anyone feel better after seeing it? It will only be more sadness to others especially JJK's family and casts of BBF. I dun mean to b offence to anyone BUT PLS STOP those photos !! Respect the dead n the casts of BBF.

I do agree the the photos are not necessary, but I don't think there's anything wrong with people wishing Jang Ja Yun peace.
She deserves all the "RIP Jang Ja Yun" and "may she rest in peace" and "condolences to her family" that was ever written in this thread.
If we were their personally we would have said those exact words to her friends and family, but seeing as we this is only on the internet, the least we can do is send our wishes here on soompi.

I was honestly disappointed when I read the article about this particular issue.
I didn't really want to believe it so I even went through all his cyworld pictures to assure myself.
I don't know korean but I'm assuming that he created his cyworld in 2006 and posted pics of him from way back
like 04-05. I scrutinized every single picture, probably for over an hour, and his nose looked the same.
The picture that came with the article, I'm guessing that was from public enemy returns or School E.T,
if that's the case, the it's a bit weird that back in 06, his nose was fine, then 07-08 it suddenly had a bump.
I guess I'm just a crazy obsessed fan in denial who wants Lee MinHo to be 100% natural.
He's just so damn good looking that you can't help wanting to know the truth.

I just like to add, in my opinion, JIHOO is deliberately very sweet with JANDI, ( not that he isn't sweet) He makes a lot of effort to make JP jealous so that JP will make his move, just like he did the first time during season 1. We all know JIHOO loves JANDI but JANDI Loves JUNPYO, he is just waiting for JUNPYO, "Why do you think that Junpyo was there in his house, to see JANDI, because JIHOO called him & informed JP,He just wants JUNPYO to see he is very sweet to JANDI,I know he really appreciate JANDI so much, he want JANDI to be happy, because She was very good to him before,just like the flashback of JANDI putting a hankie to his finger, he loves JANDI that's why he deliberately made the kissing of JANDI'S HAND very long so that JUNPYO will see that and get jealous, so that

I would've never looked at Jihoo's actions like that at all. I always just see it as an act of kindness and friendship but only towards Jandi and not to JunPyo, but now that you've explained it, it really does make sense that in a way, Jihoo is actually helping JunPyo to be man and fight for jandi.

Park Bo Young and our Min Ho wear the same ring in Baeksang Awards
I actually noticed that too!!!
I was looking through some Park Bo Young pictures from another website and noticed the ring she was wearing, then I remembered that someone posted the exact same ring here in the Lee MinHo thread and even pointed out that it was Chanel.
They're even wearing it on the same finger. What's up with lee MinHo and these 90ers (Minkyung and Bo Young)?
I don't wanna over analyze it though, probably( most likely) just pure coincidence.

I just realized that they've dragged this fiance' or however you spell it plot for 6 long freakin' episodes including 17 and 18.
I'm really hoping that they'll do the maid scene and then another painful break-up but seeing that the pacing for this drama seems very slow, I feel like this fiance' fiasco is the last leg of the jandi-junpyo obstacle course.
One more thing I'm really afraid of is that they'll exclude the maid scene but do the amnesia and it will drag on until the end of the drama.
This is starting to become like the 2nd season of meteor garden where jandi and junpyo weren't together
majority of the time.

I just noticed aside from Lee MinHo, his friends, or people he's worked with several times have also been enjoying a new-found fame; Park Bo Young, Moon ChaeWon and even Davichi's Kang MinKyung.
It really saddens me when people say that it was an overnight fame, but for MinHo as well as
the first two girls I've mentioned, they've been in this business for quite some time and it's only now that they're being recognized.
Anyway, I'm glad that they can all celebrate together.

Not sure if someone mentioned this before, but what happend to the teen of Japan story that was in the manga and HYD? It seems that the Korean ver. won't be doing it and I'm happy that they won't, I never liked that part of the story.
Having read the spoiler: JD parents going to the village means we will get the maid story..YAY!!
I don't like the Teen Of Japan part either, and I don't really think it will fit well in this version.
In Meteor Garden they didn't include that part because I guess they were trying to do a more serious version,
rather than a comedic one like in HYD.
For this version I think they're leaning towards a more serious feel so this Teen of Japan will just completely ruin the theme.
Anyway, I'm really hoping they'll do the made story too! But that woulnd't be possibe without the parents having to move to a village

I think they're actually doing that scene in the sauna. JK invited JP, JD and JH into her family owned hot spring, then Jandi sort of fainted while in the bath, then Jihoo saved her.
I liked your version more, with the necklace. Sad, but perfect.
Anyway, I think this will explain why junpyo will be able to save her from the water, because it's just a sauna.

Didn't you guys just love him in episode 16.
Although that was the most random episode ever which I will not bother to elaborate why,
I thought his acting there was so good. It was so natural, the way he was just following jandi around and how he
looked so calm, semi-bored and pissed.
I don't really know how to explain it except that it was very natural.
There was just something about his acting in epi 16 verified how good of an actor he is. It was somewhat similar to Jerry yan's acting in some episodes of Meteor garden, but even if that's the case, Lee MinHo was able to deliver it well.

I actually find her very very pretty in Boys Over Flowers. People say that she's supposed to have an ordinary-not so appealing look as Jandi, but everytime I watch BoF on KBS World with a big screen TV as compared to the tiny screen of youtube, she's actually 10 times more gorgeous.
She has a typical korean cutesy face and she may not have strong and sharp features but her over-all appearance is very beautiful.
One more thing, majority of people like her with long hair, but I prefer her hair now in BoF. She has a such a tiny face and body frame that long hair sort of over-powers her features, whereas with short hair, it frames her face and makes it look fuller, more vibrant and even younger.
