Actress Soo Ae's management company revealed their course of action regarding the scandal with chairman Jeong Tae-won of Tae Won Entertainment.
Chairman Jeong Yeong-beom from Star J Entertainment, which Soo Ae is in, told Star News on February 2nd, "The report that said Soo Ae and Jeong Tae-won are in a relationship isn't true. We will take legal measures regarding this".
Chairman Jeong said, "The two have been close since she starred in his drama and they have dinners with other members of the cast or drink wine together very often. We are going to take legal measures given that their picture was taken and used maliciously".
Soo Ae met chairman Jeong Tae-won in 2010 through the drama "ATHENA".

[10] [iNTERVIEW] Actor Park Yu-hwan
My name is Park Yu-hwan.
I was born on March 9, 1991. JYJ member Park Yu-chun is my older brother.
When I first started acting, Yu-chun gave me a lot of advice about work. He told me, 'You must not forget that you're the youngest so you need to approach people first and greet them properly as well.' I think he told me a lot about such things because he knew that I wasn't used to using the honorific form of the Korean language from having lived overseas for a long time.
In "Thousand Days Promise," I wanted to seem like the perfect younger brother. I wanted my character Moon-gwon to be the reason that his older sister, with Alzheimer's and depression, wanted to live. And I think I succeeded since people have been saying I'm the type of brother that's likely to be from outer space. [laughs]
That's why more people recognize me as actress Soo-ae's brother instead of Yu-chun's brother. And it feels good that people like the character I played but it also makes me feel like I should be sad and eat my food quietly. [laughs]
The person I clicked with the most on set was Soo-ae. We had a lot of scenes together, from beginning to end, so we became very close and I learned a lot from her. Even when the camera was shooting me, she'd immerse herself into her emotions and respond to mine so it helped me shoot my scenes with more ease.
For this drama, I acted in the way I wanted to. I didn't know anything when I worked on "Twinkle Twinkle" and "Gyebaek" so I received acting lessons and did what the director told me to but this time, my seniors left it up to me to act out my character, saying that I'm the person that would know my character best. It felt like I'd finally become a real actor.
I practice my lines at the Han River a lot. At first I started going to the river because I was too embarrassed to practice in front of my mom and it's actually become more comfortable now. I think it somehow helps me memorize better. I've even gone at midnight.
I'm the type that doesn't tan easily. My skin actually turns even more pale. When I peel, I peel here and there with some parts coming out white and other parts red. It comes back to normal in about a week but during that week... I kind of look like a zombie. [laughs] People looked at me weird when I went to the convenient store. [laughs]
I've been interested in entertainment shows ever since I was in the U.S. I watched all the episodes of SBS' "Law of the Jungle" and MBC's "Infinite Challenge" that I had missed out on after I got done with "Thousand Days Promise." I even have the calender from "Infinite Challenge." But I don't think I'd do that well if I went on entertainment shows. I'm so shy that I'd have a hard time talking and would fail at showing my goofy side. Everything that I do for the first time makes me nervous.
I'd like to try playing an arrogant character which I know doesn't suit my looks. I know that I look like a nice guy right now because of my fair skin and from playing Moon-gwon but I'd like to try filming a movie like Kim Rae-won's "Sunflower" when I get older.
I think that even tough and bad experiences are good for actors. Of course it's better not to go through such experiences but having experienced them first hand would be better than having heard about them from someone else. I may have a hard time when I'm going through such moments but I think everything gets better over time.

Hyeon Bin's hair voted year's best
Unix electronics used SNS sites such as Facebook and Twitter to collate the responses of 134 netizens as to whom they thought had the best hair in 2011.
On Dec. 28 the results were revealed and in the men's category, actor Hyeon Bin's haircut in the drama "Secret Garden" came in at No. 1.
Meanwhile in women's hair, actress Kong Hyo-jin's "balloon perm" bob in the drama "The Greatest Love" was deemed the best.
The asymmetrical dandy haircut adopted by Hyeon Bin amassed 50 percent of the votes in the men's category and was thought to be perfectly in line for the cold and cynical character from a rich family that the actor played.
Second on the list of men's hairdos was actor Cha Seung-won's "two block wave" cut as seen on the drama "The Greatest Love".
Third was the shaved-head look as worn by Wonbin in last year's thriller movie "The Man From Nowhere".
In the women's category, coming in at second place after Kong's 41 percent, was the natural "long wave" worn by actress Soo-ae. Third spot went to the braided look as seen from various female entertainers such as Girls' Generation and Kim Tae-hee. In the combined genre where netizens could vote for either male or female hair-dos they liked, Hyeon Bin again topped the list for both sexes. Meanwhile there were some differences for second place as female voters preferred Cha's wave cut while male voters liked Wonbin's masculine shaved-head look.

50% of the SNS users picked Hyun Bin‘s ‘Unbalanced Dandy Cut’ (bangs cut at an angle) as the best male hairstyle for 2011. His chic hairstyle is the one he rocked for the hit drama series ‘Secret Garden‘, and with it, he perfectly played the role of wealthy Kim Juwon, creating what netizens call ‘Hyun Bin syndrome’.
Cha Seung Won‘s ‘Two Block Wave’ hairstyle for ’The Greatest Love‘ (front longer than the sides, wavy) earned 21% of the total votes, coming in at second place. And Won Bin‘s ‘Skinhead’ hairstyle with which the actor left a strong impression on viewers in his movie ‘The Man From Nowhere‘ earned 17% of the votes, securing the #3 spot. This was the hairstyle that helped highlight her natural acting abilities in ‘The Greatest Love‘, and her short, split bang hairstyle with soft waves helped bring out her character’s personality. Gong Hyo Jin earned 41% of the total votes.
Behind her was actress Soo Ae who came in at 2nd place with 33% of the votes. Soo Ae rocked a soft, and wavy hairstyle that brought out her feminine charm for her recent drama, ‘Thousand Days Promise’. Su Ae is a D&G Kind of Girl for Vogue
For December’s Vogue, it’s all about Su Ae and Dolce & Gabbana. While Su Ae isn’t charming famous Italian designers, she is wrenching hearts of many as Lee Seo-yeon in the melodrama, A Thousand Day Promise. The Italian designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana visited Korea for the opening of their new store in Cheongdam.
Su Ae is looking endearingly charming in this little black dress paired with black caged heels. Both Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are looking dapper and sharp in their tuxedo jackets and velvet bow ties. I especially love Stefano Gabbana for pairing jeans and work boots with his formal wear. Sometimes the deliberate juxtaposition of two different styles can create a startling effect.
Here Su Ae is in a sequined wrap with fur accents. Personally I don’t know what of make of it. Even though its glittering and shimmering, I found it drab. It isn’t flattering but it isn’t unflattering either. I even found the bright magenta clutch to be forgettable. The only thing I did notice was Su Ae’s heavy makeup.
Now this is sequins done right. Su Ae is in this stunning sequins dress that just makes my heart sing. The embellished neckline keeps this dress from becoming another average sparkly dress. And I don’t know if it is because of the constant parade of booty shorts but I adore the knee-length hem. This just goes to show that you don’t need to bare all to be sexy. *ahem Oh In-hye ahem*
Which brings to a point that I’ve always wanted to ask; when did sexy become tiny shorts, “bottomless” fashion, and mini mini skirts? I wish some stars who have a “sexy image” would find new ways to embody sensuality without exposing so much skin. Take Lee Hyori’s “All-Kill” dress. Personally, I found it to be rather tasteless but when Hyori wore it to the 2011 MBC University Gayo Festival, the netizens heaped on praises of how amazing she looked, how hot it was, and etc. Maybe I’m just an old-fashion girl, but I miss the days of shorts that didn’t resemble panties or tops that didn’t threatened to spill over. Anyone else who feels this way or am I a dying breed?

[interview] Park Yoo Hwan Aims to Reward His Brother with Good Acting

There is nothing more valuable than pursuing your dreams. It is a sad fate to be unable to find a pursuit worthy of one′s passion even when one has the desire to pour passion in something. Newcomer Park Yoo Hwan used to have that problem. He didn’t know what to do or what would suit him.
He just passed time doing nothing, and one day, he found his brother Park Yoo Chun looking very different on TV.
It was when he saw his brother act as Lee Sun Joon in Sungkyunkwan Scandal that Park realized what he wanted to do. Though he didn′t have any dreams of advancing into the entertainment industry, thanks to his brother, he found the ardent desire to be an actor deep in his heart.
And that’s how he started his acting career. After making up his mind, he started acting classes along with his brother. And then, the following year, he was cast in a series of dramas including, Twinkle Twinkle (MBC), Gyebaek (MBC), and A Thousand Days’ Promise (SBS), which recently ended.
Park arguably landed roles in dramas more easily than others.
Park said, “Truthfully, I didn’t want to get the help from my brother. But since he is so famous and we look alike, I received help unintentionally. There are people who think negatively that I benefited from my brother. But since I did benefit from my brother, I have to acknowledge what′s true. I think working hard and becoming a good actor would be the way for me to reward my brother and fans.”
Park who kept smiling during the interview said with a smile, “I’m a positive person, so I don’t really care about the malicious comments.”
Even though he started his career with the help from his brother, he said, he believed he will be able to escape from ‘his brother’s shadow’ when he becomes a good actor. Probably because of this determination, his acting in his latest piece of work, A Thousand Days’ Promise, was good enough to be reviewed far more positively than his first attempt at acting.
He said, “His [Park′s character] only family member has Alzheimer’s disease. It was a little difficult to shoot the scenes where I cried. But as time went by, I found myself becoming Lee Moon Kwon. Since then, just the sight of my older sister in the drama made me shed tears. I was able to do that thanks to Soo Ae who tried to be close to me first saying we had to feel like we were real brother and sister. Thanks to her, I’ve learned a lot and grown as an actor.”
In fact, he said, he initially felt pressured that he had to act with Soo Ae.
“She is a sunbae (senior) who has had a long career. At first I was intimidated. I had to play her brother, but I wondered how I could become close to her. But she tried to be close to me saying we had to look like real brother and sister. Now? We are very close (laugh) thanks to nuna (older sister),” said Park.
Kim Rae Won and other staff members as well as Soo Ae gave him affectionate advice. He candidly said the drama was the first piece of work in which he acted with a comfortable mind, and admitted that through this drama, he′d been relieved of his fears and the pressure of being in front of the camera.
“I’ve just taken my first step. Naturally, I want to show me growing as an actor as I did this year. I hope many people say, ‘His acting ability is improving.′ So I am not afraid of anything," said Park. "I want to work hard so that I can become ‘Park Yoo Hwan who is good at acting.’ Please keep an eye on me."

These days, the name ‘Soo Ae’ can be heard everywhere.
Working men have even been dipping into black humor, joking, “What if I get Alzheimer’s disease (like Soo Ae’s character)?”
In the SBS drama, A Thousand Days’ Promise, Soo Ae has been offering up a remarkably convincing portrayal of the character, Seo Yeon, an arguably successful career woman in her 30s, dealing with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. By the end, people began remarking that her acting was outshining the rest of the cast.
We looked into the life story of the actress who rose from being the daughter of a poor shoe repairman to becoming the girl of every guy’s dream.
I am
Park Soo Ae (her real name), the daughter of poor shoe repairman and a graduate of a girl’s vocational high school, had the dream of becoming a singer at the age of 20. She had to give up on going to a college due to her family’s financial problems, and instead she pursued a dream of singing as a member of a girl group, while working as model for fashion magazines. By chance, she met Jung Young Bum, representative of Star J Entertainment, and Jung scouted her on the spot. Since then, their fates have been intertwined through the ups and downs of the last ten years.

Her acquaintances say Soo Ae’s charm is in her perseverance and the way she maintains a refined and approachable manner while always staying strong inside. In the early days, she said, “I want to quit acting once I make the money to rent a house,” but she has been working for 12 years with Jung Young Bum, the man who first discovered her. Sometimes she was pestered by ‘anti-fans’ and malicious rumors, but she has shown her resolution in expressing herself in acting. A source on the show, A Thousand Days’ Promise, said, “We were worried that she would be affected by the controversy over her sponsored luxury goods, and lose her pace, but she endured well. She is already a top star whose acting ability reaches its peak but she hired a private acting instructor in order to not cause trouble for writer Kim Su Hyun. She studied the character Seo Yeon a lot and showed her attachment to the character. Even Kim, the perfectionist, praised her nonstop.”
Crisis
She has yet to face any serious slumps or scandals, but there was a rumor when she debuted that she was arrogant and rude. On this rumor, she explained that it was because she had a timid personality when she appeared on MBC’s Kneedrop Guru. She said, “I didn’t have confidence when I was a newcomer. I might have had an inferiority complex. If somebody approached me, I didn’t know what to do so I just would just pass. I tried to say hello to (sunbaes (seniors) but doubtlessly, they might have felt offended. If a hoobae (junior) greeted me that way, I wouldn’t respond to it, either”
She also revealed that she felt sorry for Lee Byung Hun, her costar in the movie Once in a Summer. She said, “Lee Byung Hun wanted to communicate with me as an actor. But I couldn’t do it well. After shooting, a staff member said, ‘You obviously look awkward,’ and I was so embarrassed that my face turned red. It’s because I harmed Lee Byung Hun and the piece of work. Lee Byung Hun was so attractive that I might have drawn boundaries. Without the boundaries, I would have fallen for him immediately. I didn’t want to show such a behavior as an actor.”
She said she has tried to say more and get closer to her fellow actors, but she still hasn’t completely changed. A source from A Thousand Days’ Promise said, “She is very polite to her sunbaes (seniors) and hubaes (juniors), but she doesn’t usually express herself nor is she often affectionate to others. She is a type of person who draws boundaries. I understand her well because that’s her own way for self-discipline as an actress.”
The scandal with fellow actor Yang Dong Geun was her only dating rumor. The two were close back in the old days when she had just debuted because they were both under contract with Star J Entertainment. There was a rumor that Yang broke up with her after he left the company and wrote a song about his broken heart. At present, she has no boyfriend. Recently, Uhm Tae Woong tried to make up a dating rumor with her, but the two are more like real brothers and sisters.
In the end, Uhm explained, “I feel sorry for Soo Ae that a rumor about her, a close neighborhood friend and hoobae, happened because of me.”
Her fans are curious when she will meet her boyfriend openly and get to have a beautiful wedding ceremony like Seo Yeon in A Thousand Days’ Promise.

Yoo Jae Suk, Park Ha Sun named as the #1 stars to “share coffee at a ski resort with”
In yet another one of South Korea’s numerous random online polls, MC Yoo Jae Suk and actress Park Ha Sun were chosen by netizens recently as the top male and female stars that they wanted to share a cup of coffee with at a ski resort.
The poll queried 320 male and female office workers aged 20 through 30 in the Seoul Metropolitan Area. Yoo Jae Suk drew 51% out of 158 votes for the male celebrity poll, while Park Ha Sun garnered 48% out of 162 votes for females.
As for the runner-ups, actors Song Joong Ki (27%) and Soo Ae (23%) came in second place.
