KDA is well-known to give out awards only to those in attendance so im really not surprised since Bogum is not there. Most of its winners are pretty questionable, honestly. Lol
Its okay though. He may not win this one but im pretty sure he will win something even better! Cant wait for KBS' year end awards.

Asking about why Ryu Junyeol is not nominated is definitely off-topic because this a Park Bogum thread and we shld be focusing on him. And we are just fans here so we dont have the knowledge to know exactly why. But anyways to answer your question. Im pretty sure there's a certain criteria that has to be followed in order to get a nomination. Take note that not every award show has the same criteria. They are all different. Most probably Ryu doesnt fit the criteria for this award show thus was not nominated.

Yes! Congrats to our Bogummy for winning the newcomer award. The newcomer award is definitely a meaningful one because you can only win it once. Its a once in a lifetime opportunity for actors. I can see him cherishing this precious award given to him. May this be a stepping stone to many more awards to come. Once again, a big congratulations to our boy!

Also! Anyone else glad that our male lead is an actual gentleman? Its so rare to find these type of characters in dramas. There's no aggressive wrist grabbing or forced surprise kisses in order to insert dominance here. Now those scenes are something i wouldnt want to see Yoojung doing. Those kind of scenes are the ones we should all be uncomfortable with. So im honestly so glad that Yeong is not that kind of character and that he totally respects Raon.
I like how eventhough he is being described as a Tsundere, he's actually more on the warm side. There are plenty of tsundere characters I've seen that are too over-the-top mean towards their love interest even when they already have deep feelings for the person. An example would be them constantly telling their love interest(though i suppose in a teasing way) that they're ugly blah blah and constantly trying to bring down the female lead's confidence just because they're on denial mode(thus the reason why i cannot root for Junghwan in R88. Taek all the way for me) . But notice how not once have Yeong ever called Raon ugly even in his usual playful teasing way. In fact he straight up told her that she's the most beautiful woman. Not once has he ever made her feel completely useless. He respects her enough that she,too, has complete control of this relationship as much as he does and that her opinion matters to him a lot. How swoon-worthy is that?

Yup as much as I want Raon to be by Yeong's side, I just want her to quickly leave the palace so that she could actually start to live as herself again together with her mum and not have to still be under the pretense of being Samnom, the palace's eunuch and be in constant danger of being discovered. I want her to be able to start wearing those pretty hanboks she have been longing to wear. She needs to stop wearing that green eunuch garb already. XD
Still wondering when the royal wedding is gonna happen though. Hayeon will be the crown princess seeing as the main poster and introduction of her, she was wearing the royal crown princess attire. So I guess it will definitely happen but as of now it's quite ambiguous when that will actually happen. But for some strange reason I don't see it happening? lol. But that could be because my brain is telling that there's only 6 episodes left and I just cant compute how they are going to fit everything. lol
But of course they might just surprise me. It's not just once or twice that I've been surprised while watching this drama after all. It manages to surprise me pretty much every week. Every single time. Haha

Ok so I saw the headline of the previously mentioned article and I can't help but to snort at that.
In what ways was the romance depicted in this drama were of 'adult nature'?
Were they passionately kissing each other? Were they having sex on screen? The answer is no.
Even their first kiss was super chaste and innocent. Completely in line with how a teenage(first love) romance should be.
But I guess it can be seen as a veiled compliment to our main OTP. Because their chemistry is too strong that it feels like sexual tension every single time they are together. Haha
But we have to remember that this is a youth romance drama. The keyword is 'youth'. not 'adult'. lol
And also, teenagers are allowed to date and have their own innocent romance, right? Don't tell me no because that's a lie. haha. So why is it wrong to see two teenage characters in a drama dating each other?
And Yoojung is 17, a teenager. She's old enough to date and even have her own first love by now. So why can't she do the same in a drama?
The way I see it, these people who are complaining are divided with some having a hard time at letting go of her childhood actress image and another portion just doesn't like the fact that she's still considered a minor(in the eyes of the law even though technically she's already a young adult.)
But at the end of the day, this is just a drama and they are all actors. I feel like the production team has a lot of respect for their actors and they obviously adore Yoojung. So I'm pretty sure they won't insert any scenes that Yoojung is uncomfortable with. Their main objective is to showcase a fluttering first-love type of youth romance after all and there's no way they are going to veer towards 'adult' territory. The only 'adult' thing about this drama is us, the viewers, and our imaginative minds when it comes to our sizzling OTP chemistry. LOL

The scene where Lee Yeong got stabbed and for a moment thought that Byungyeon had betrayed him, his "Is that you, Byungyeon?" broke my heart. Bogum's acting was so on point. He's seriously damn good!
And it seems like that scene was where the ratings peaked from what I read. Almost everyone on korean community sites wont stop talking about it. And Bogum is getting praised on how realistic and good his acting was during that scene.

So proud of Bogummy because his wish to be an actor whom people would want to work with is coming true. So many celebrities have been really outspoken on wanting to work with him these days. He was also able to fulfil his wish of wanting to be in a Sageuk and as a prince this time so I'm looking forward to seeing him in a youth/school-related production next since that is also one of his many wishes!
I hope he won't be burdened or pressured to pick a good follow up project because of the success he's having right now. I think the pressure is inevitable. Once you're a success, a lot of people are eager to know if you can continue the streak of ratings sucess. But I just want him to be able to pick a project which he really wants to do and which he feels is a best fit for him. So if he wants to be in a school uniform in a drama that is targeted to the minority(youths) in his next project, I say just do it!

I remembered this. It's funny how right after Yoojung walked the red carpet, the next one to walk the red carpet was Bogum. I think it was fate. Hahaha. I believe this was a few days/weeks before she was confirmed to be the leading lady? If I'm not mistaken that is. I think she was officially confirmed somewhere in early April.
Psst. Maybe she saw Bogum in real life and was like "okay I got to work with this oppa. I'll accept!" kekeke
because honestly, I would totally do that. Who would want to miss the opportunity of acting alongside a really handsome, humble and talented actor like Park Bogum? Refusal is completely out of the question.

Honestly I dont care what the naysayers have to say. They can say whatever they want to say. Its their freedom. Though sometimes i do not understand their intention of downgrading another drama in order to put their favourite on the pedestal. Like why? Can't you just enjoy whatever you're watching without the need to criticize the other and explicitly claiming that one is better than the other? Why is there a need to split them into categories of one is good and the other is bad? Why can't they both be good?
I'm actually watching both Moon dramas though I am more invested in this one. I am a bit behind on the other one but I'll catch up soon. I do enjoy the other drama as well but MDBC has the priority and my full attention for now. I honestly prefer MDBC as it is more of my type of storytelling. But i do not go around criticizing the other drama for being lesser than MDBC. They are both good on their own merits. There is no need to label one good and the other bad. People can watch and enjoy whatever they want to watch. Its called personal preference. There's no such thing as having a right or wrong preference, is there?
Also i agree about being sick of seeing the comments of generalizing "international viewers" prefering this and "korean viewers" prefering that. Whats with the generalisation seriously? Doesnt make sense. International or local, we are all human beings with different brains, opinions and preference. There's no point in generalizing. We watch whatever we want to watch.
Also another thing im sick of seeing are comments asking why are MDBC's ratings so high and the other so low? So should we also ask why are comments and international feedback about MDBC so little and the other so much then? Sure they would say that people find their drama fun and it deserves the attention thus the comments and feedback but yeah same thing goes for MDBC ratings. Why are the ratings high? Because viewers find it fun. Its as simple as that and it deserves the ratings.
And lately i keep seeing comments saying that this drama is light, boring and predictable . And i wonder if they are really watching the drama or are they just skimming through /fast forwarding. Because if they were to fully immerse themselves especially in the latest episodes , i don't think they would be using those adjectives to describe the drama. How can it be light when there's dark political undertones and emotionally heart-tugging scenes. How can it be boring when there's a lot of things going on and plot movement in every episode. As for predictability...Well who here can predict what's going to happen in the next episode? Lol. Or predict what is it that Teacher Dasan will be suggesting that will enable RaOn to stay by Yeong's side as a lady? Or oh how about what the ending would be? Anyone? No? XD

Since some of us here are sharing about how they first encounter Park Bogum, so I shall share mine. I first saw Bogum in Wonderful Mama. At the time I do not know who he was but I did take note of how cute he was. Unfortunately i stopped watching the drama after a few eps. I just don't get along well with long weekend dramas. Haha.
The next encounter was Tomorrow's Cantabile. I watched that show because of Joowon and also because I was a fan of the original. I came to like his character the most in the drama. I remembered the first thought I had when I first saw him in the drama. I was like hey that is one good looking dude and really believable as a musician. Funny enough i didnt seem to link that this guy was the same kid in Wonderful Mama. I legit thought that he's a newbie actor, probably a student studying music who was trying out acting and doing pretty well at it. But ultimately, i didnt get to finish the drama due to my disappointment of it not being as good as the original.
Next was I Remember You. And this was the huge turning point. This drama was the one that made me a fan and eagerly anticipate his future works. When i first watched the drama , i immediately recognized him as he left quite a good impression on Cantabile(and also he was an mc on Music Bank at the time and so i thought that he was an idol as well XD). But wow, he was definitely a scene stealer in this show. His ability to show deadly charisma as a psychopathic serial killer but at the same time he was able to inject some poignancy in his portrayal to invoke empathy from viewers, had me in awe. And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one.
From then on i decided to check out whatever future works he was planning to do.
So then came along Reply 1988. I knew from the start that I was going to like his character the most. I was already preparing myself for heartbreak but then halfway i was like heck im just gonna board the SunTaek ship dont care if it sinks. Lol. So glad i did. I was super satisfied at the end. From there i did some research on him(read articles/watched videos) and got to know of how much of a sweetheart he is and also the hardships he has been through to get to where he is right now. My respect level for him just went up sky high. And oh yeah, at this point I was already hit by the Bogum fever. A deadly virus which makes me do continuous research on him and stare at his pics all day long.
I'm still suffering from it by the way. Infact it's getting even worse since MDBC started. Hahahaha. I don't think I'll be able to/want to recover. I want my love for Bogum to last a lifetime, honestly. LOL.
Anyways so yeah this is the story of my journey of becoming Bogummy's fan. I am honestly so happy and proud that he's been gaining a lot of new fans right now through his drama. He deserves all the love he is getting and so much more. Bogum-ah, you're the best and we love you!

Drawing is one of my hobbies though I'm not that good at it. Haha. But hopefully one of the days i will be able to draw Bogum as Lee Young.

Today, I managed to convince my mum to watch episode 1 to 10 of MDBC with me and now she's completely in love with the drama. LOL
She kept asking me when the next ep will be up and why does she have to wait until next week. XD
My mum is quite picky when it comes to dramas. She's not a fan of popular ones like DOTS, Reply 1988 (which makes me kinda sad because I love that one), Secret Garden, the recent one W, and several more. So yup she's extremely picky. It's because she's the type that gets easily bored and distracted so the first impression of a drama is very important in order for her to get invested. So I'm totally glad this drama managed to grab her attention from the start. Now I'm able to fangirl with my mum every week. So Yay.

And also ahh the titles for both upcoming OSTs foreboding what is to come. Should I prepare tissues next week?
But for some reason, I'm excited for the angst and sadness. Because I know that both Bogum and Yoojung would totally nail it. Bring it on!

It has been confirmed that there will be no extensions and MDBC will end with 18 episodes as originally planned.
I'm actually really glad! As much as I want to see more of the characters, I don't want the extension to ruin the flow of the story. The pacing has been really great so far and I'm hoping that it will remain that way until the end.

Dropping by to say congrats to our Bogummy for winning the Asia Star Award @ TvN. So proud of our boy. I guess I am one of the many international fans who voted for him. Haha
Anyways, i heard the teaser for his upcoming ost and he sounds so good! Cant wait to hear the full version tonight. One by one, his dreams are slowly coming true. I'm really so happy for him. Feeling like such a proud mother here. Lol XD
