It's possible. I have several guys friends who I can't count on that I've never had feeling towards. We're just really good friends who are able to cry in front of each other with no shame. One of them are pretty close with my boyfriend too.
I know many people say that platonic friends are just a title that hides the truth between love that sparks within 2 people of the opposite sex, but I don't believe that that's true.
We just need to look beyond the society's expectations that are put upon men and women and understand that there is both love for a significant other and love for a good friend regardless of gender. This will show us the difference that stand between these two types of love.
I just think that all this time everybody is just too stuck on how society is portrayed over the years. We just never took the time to understand the differences between each relationship we've held with different people. The problem is, society rules

There were several times where the person who was originally in front of me who has let me pay first because I had a few items in my hands.
I just thought that that was extremely sweet of them to do that.
I do have encounters with strangers where I was the giver though:
I saw a mother trying to have her two children sit quietly on the bus without making a big mess while eating their bananas. One of the kids smeared bits and pieces of bananas on his mother's shirt. The mother took out a small packet of tissues and found that that was the last piece she had in there. Knowing that that wasn't enough for her to clean up the mess, I decided to give her my packet of tissue and helped her clean up.
I just felt bad for the mother since both her children were making a mess and she was having trouble with cleaning up.
Another incident occurred when I was still working at Office Depot. It was the week before school started so we had the Back-to-School sales going on. A boy walked over to my counter ready to pay for his school supplies to find that he didn't have enough to pay for everything. I asked him if he wanted to put some items back, but he said he needed it for school. I saw that everything he picked out were for school and decided to help him with the amount that he was missing. It was less than $5 but after seeing that I was willing to help, the little boy's face lit up and he just looked so happy.
I felt super warm inside when I saw him smile that big.

Sadly enough, I would never dare tell my parents or my boyfriend at the time(which is my ex now) about the incidents that had occurred. If I told them the day it's happened, they would automatically go off on me talking about how it's not right for me to do things like this and that "there's no use helping others because good karma will never come around."
Although they've always said things like that, I never listened. I knew what was right and wrong. & this is one of the reasons why the boyfriend I had at the time has now become my ex boyfriend.
