  1. Moon chae won no matter what situation is, enters and says dialogues like reading news highlights and leaves. When she kidnaps jinho she was like reading news to him than conversing. Good that her role is limited.

As of eun young I wonder why korea needs entire securities firm industry, police force and prosecution, he is alone doing the work of all.

I would say that a little bit of this confusion was caused by Netflix translations.  What she said was this:  "I tried my best, okay? I wanted to be a good person, as that felt better" ("felt more comfortable" to be more precise).  "But now I won't be like that.  Even if I have to become a bad person, I'm going to hold on to the love I have".

She didn't mean that she was "acting nice". The subs said it was "easier" but that is quite misleading, as it implies something deliberate.  She meant was that what came natural to her was to be nice.  The "even if" also was carelessly dropped in the translation when they said "I will do whatever it takes, to get the love I deserve".  That raised my eyebrows further.  No, there was no hint of any "whatever it takes" in what she said, and she didn't say anything pompous like "what i deserve" and all that.  In fact, "even if it is painful for me to become bad" is what she meant; not a determined "I will do whatever bad stuff" ...

She only showed how foolishly stubborn she was in thinking that her one-way romance was sustainable.   Her acting was actually showing her helplessness and frustration.  But the subs made her look like an entitled brat who was lashing out.  She was not acting like that.  I think there were other lines too before, that made MK look worse than what she really is, with careless translations.

This is not the first instance where I have felt that the Netflix translators take unnecessary liberties in changing the Korean lines so  frequently with the mistaken notion that what is said in Korean would not work in English.  Occasionally Korean lines are different (and some words like "good person" in my above translation would indeed look a little odd too) but in a majority of the cases, a straight translation of what was said would be just fine.  I would rather the subbers not mislead us with great looking lines, if they don't capture what is said.  A slightly awkward line that conveys what is said is better in my opinion!

Thanks alot for help and time. The dialogue you explained I actually surprisingly had interpreted it almost the way you have described it because it would have been too much if she would expose herself like this. She uses the word 'nappun' which means bad. It looked like she was saying it was comfortable to be nice and it's hard to be bad something something. But even from your translation she still comes across as an entitled brat who is not ready to hear a 'no' from someone who is miserable in the relationship with her and wants to be out. At the end of the day she's threatening him, because I don't see how there is a positive way to force someone in a relationship with her, infact the thought to force him itself is toxic and bad not harmlessly foolish. I literally imagined sang su or a male character doing this to a female character and coud already imagine the severe backlash in that case. I want sang su to run away to some other part of world even if he has to go to north pole or antartica and live in igloo to escape this clingy ghost like ex. Also her past actions have been there like giving used items etc etc. I just can't with her manipulative character. I dislike sy too, she is a self torture freak and inflicts it on anyone who loves her, but I still find mk more intolerable and can't handle her.

Very good theory, here is mine I believe the assistant is the younger brother of the student who committed suicide.
    1. Maybe the brother didn’t kill his mom like the cop thinks.
    2. There was no proof he killed her

    3. maybe the mom died because she tried to stop hee son from committing suicide

    4. The vilain in the present maybe very obsessed with CY.

I am glad we had a flashback on what happened in the past. TBH , I blame the mom not the teacher for her daughter’s death. She was so desperate for her child to succeed, that she didn’t care about the position she was putting her child because she didn’t believe in her kid. She was pressuring her child to be the best and not caring for her mental health.  What is wrong with CY old classmate. He really frustrates me for being STUPID. He is such a jealous person , he is jealous because CY succeeded even though he had to start from scratch as a teacher. He makes a lot of money and is well loved by his students unlike him. He refuses to admit that CY is a good teacher and while he isn’t as smart at CY.  Do you guys agree? @Shimmery-summer  @larus @backstreetboysfan

I don't even get how those people are even blaming choi chi yeol for girl's suicide, he didn't do anything. As of the whole scene where he gets the call I didn't get who was the guy calling and why just getting the number of school education director means the papers will be leaked, what did the mom even offer for school to do such big thing. And then who was the guy screaming at chi yeol when he raises the paper leak issue, why was he so confident etc etc, that whole setup didn't make any sense to me. Then that angry friend, like he asked the number without knowing anything, then how does it become his fault? And why even chi yeol bothers with guy, he is either jealous or just plain stupid to blame the whole incident on tutor. This one seems like unnecessary forced grudge and poor writing by writers, this kind of trope used to be common in 2011-20114 kdramas, seeing it after a long time. Anyone with common sense would know just getting the number without knowing isn't his fault. If anyone's it is that lunatic mom who went this overboard. But I still don't get who was the broker guy who asked for the number.

@Shimmery-summer I agree about MK’s passive aggressiveness and her actions feeling very “fake”.  But yes, I think MK means she won’t be going full blown jealous lover raging at SY and will continue just playing the victim (being “nice”) rather than being the aggressor.  I get the feeling she genuinely thinks that showering people with gifts and attention is okay.  She doesn’t seem to grasp the idea that when she does this, it only makes the other person feel uncomfortable due to the status difference.  It’s almost to the point where she can’t accept that SS can’t “love” her.  She honestly believes that if she tries hard enough, that he will just grow in love for her.  She can’t seem to accept the fact that love can’t be bought or forced.  I do find her duplicitous and her position of power and prestige makes her a dangerous person to be an enemy of.

Initially I thought MK's special visit to sy and that convo meant she won't harm anyone but then convo's wording was confusing specially when she warns to think twice about him, but then gp also approaches sy, and prolly they hatch a plan or something (they could have slept together, writers are unpredictable), so if there wasn't any significant threat then for both sy and gp to go to such exteme, either it'sa gross miscalculation that they misread mk's intentions, or they are cheap attention seekers, or writers were drunk when they wrote it, or gp and sy did see the threat and upcoming situation. Next episode will clear up some of the stuff.

As of mk genuinely thinking giving gifts etc is fine, I don't know. I remember writing this many episodes back that writers have kept it very vague to guess the true intentions of characters and certain things about mk felt ambiguous. However, whether she thinks it's okay to give gifts or not she actually does believe that she should use money to buy people. I always felt that mk didn't respect the money her dad had earned, she looks down on it due to her bad relationship with him, so she throws it around ruthlessly to buy people, she doesn't have pride to not touch the money given how she hates dad but she defintely is clever to know she should dump it around to her advantage whether it is to buy love from a bf or to manipulate a good looking colleague to keep her away from the person she has called dibs on. Her mom also has same disrespect for the money which she mentions in early episodes like how she wastes boatload of money to take anger out on her husband. But mk's mom is million times better than mk because she never hides her disdain for others or masks her looking down at others attitude by a fake smile like her daughter.

I remember when show started and I thought mk was kind of a nice person, I started mentioning why she always gives used items as gifts to sy. In the start she gives sy her used necklace, then her used bag, later on her clothes. I remember when sy gets the necklace she doesn't look happy and shoves in the drawer, she then sells the clothes, which means these behaviors are wrong and considered bad in korea even in middle class and here a rich girl is doing it who of all the people should know better how rude it is, then both bday dinners were meant to make a point to sy. Infact when mk gives her clothes it was the same day sy's mom had an accident. Mk doesn't give gifts with genuine intentions, she always has a reason to do and she gives it according to the value she has set for that person in her head. Like we see sy almost always gets her used items, she doesn't even get the painting bought to hang in her washroom, ss is a potential husband so a car for him, as your financial status improves so does the price of gift. Then trying to buy his mom with lowering rent and stuff so that his mom will blackmail him to not breakup.

On a random note, I remember when mk and sang su were working on contest, so she arrives at office at night just to be with him and sleeps throughout and doesn't do anything, in the morning when ss does all the work he tells her to go back home and freshen up and all and then come back or she will look tired to colleagues, so she says something like, 'no, I won't go back to get fresh, I will stay here to look tired for others to believe I also worked hard on it'. And then stealing project from sy, at first I thought she can't return it to her she doesn't have power, but now if we look at it we realize mk has way too much control over her workplace that returning that project was a small deal. She just had to tell that branch manager once but she makes a constipated face before sy and takes her out to dinner or something to coax her.

I am okay with any kind of ending as long as it isn't ss and mk getting married. The relationship is sickening, if there was no other woman in ss's life and he still wanted to break up, mk would have pulled same sh.t, which is so hard to watch.

Btw I am sorry I have been bothering you with my replies even though we have different povs, thank you for being so polite and kind to respond.

  5. Looks like assisstant is the killer, but what is his brother's role is beyond me. Oh btw I did mention about home tutoring being illegal, in this case as he is not charging her any money so it's not illegal, if he is charging he has to inform the authorities, ep 5 and 6 made it clear for me finally. My theory is Ithink assisstant was the younger brother who knew what his mom did and he respected the teacher because of his sister. He knew teacher stood by his sister, and abnormal environment at home coupled with suicide turned him into a killer, prolly he killed his mom and now to protect teacher he attacks people who misbehave. But if we look at it that student who falls off the building he hadn't yet done anything super offensive for asst to kill him.the asst looks too invested in and attached with the tutor to an abnormal personal level. Again these are all guesses, as such serial killing parts of this show are very boring and uninteresting but clearly they added them to spice up the show. I think chiyeol will find out about brother after he will see the pen. And sung jae's brother is prolly aware of the killer, he's prolly investigating it himself.

@Shimmery-summer  I think when MK had that confrontation with SY, she is resentful and wanting “revenge”.  But because MK wants SY to “suffer”, she doesn’t want to resent SY.  Because that’s exactly what SY wants her (MK) to do.  She doesn’t want SY to feel justified or better knowing that MK hates/despises her.  So instead, MK decided to continue to “be nice” or “like” her.  Which then makes SY out to be the only “bad person” in the whole mess.  Does that make sense?  She’s (MK) is using reverse psychology on SY.  MK wants SY to continue to feel guilty for stealing her man away (when, in MK’s eyes anyway, MK has been nothing but “nice” to SY all this time).  The public will also be more likely to stay on MK’s side if she continues to act nice to SY.  MK will be the “wronged” party that everyone feels sorry for and pile abuse on SY.  If MK retaliates with hate, there could be some who may feel like she got what she deservered.

I don’t think MK has anything on them to “out” them.  It’s just what was said in the hallway during that confrontation at the bank in the last few minutes of the ep.  I guess this way, MK would be viewed as the “wronged” party and both SS (if he says nothing to deny the allegations) and SY will be the talk of the town.  It’s likely that they will both have to leave the bank and starts fresh somewhere else.  Or better yet, MK could move to another branch or up to HQ.

Thanks for your reply, really appreciate it. No it doesn't make any sense even now. I understood guilty part, I feel either it's netflix's poor translation, or some korean cultural thing outsiders don't understand or just pure rubbish dialogue writing. Like I remember the scene outside restaurant when ss tells her mom they have broken up, mk says I was being nice before as it was easier, now I will be a bad person, at first I thought she meant all her behviors post joining office were what she was calling her 'acting' nice but then I realized she prolly means after learning about affair whatever she has done so far is her being nice, now she will go full tilt psycho. Still her lines were quite vague.

I get reverse psychology, but how is mi kyong being nice to su yong? Even before she found out about their relationship she still used to be quite passive aggressive towards suyong, gifting handme downs etc etc. After discovering the affair naturally she won't be talking sweetly but won't be able to act rude as this isn't possible at workplace, she can't disrupt workplace environment because of personal reasons. Her being 'nice' to make someone guilty entails mikyong not exposing ss and sy's affair, not destroying these two people's livelihoods and just move on, honestly that's the best way to make someone guilty nd shaking their souls.

But mk is planning on exact opposite, she has clearly told sang su after he informs her mom of break up that now she will go full vengeful mode, and then next she visits suyong with these weird dialogues. Fine mk is nice that she's not pulling a jong hyon drama at workplace nor pulling out su yong's hair and humiliating her at workplace as is shown in kdramas, that's what she means being nice? Other than that she plans to reveal the whole thing if ss still breaks up whether he dates sy or not,  which as such mightn't impact ss and sy's careers from higher admins, (probably delay ss's promotions and get sy fired as she is a weak target) because he wasn't married, they weren't even living together, but just as his senior manager said, the problem is mk's family which she will use to kick them both out of workplace. Then she says, keep my niceness in mind to think about him again.. another veiled threat or weird riddle. After this convo sy sits shocked at her desk and then gp jumps in to delve out his personal story. If we notice it was mk's visit after which sy goes full self nuke mode.

Even if she gets sang su quietly fired she knows ss will go after sy, if she exposes the affair whether sang su is fired or not, he will face humiliation, but su yong is going to face the most amount of humiliation as she is a woman and she comes from a poor background which is why she's always already used as a subject of sleazy rumors by toxic colleagues. Like remember when yuk was cheating that curly haired girl automatically blamed sy seeing the back of woman in photo? Or  remember at hotel, post training one of the sleazy colleages tells ss he wants to have an affair with a beauty like sy before he gets married to some other woman. Gosh I wish all those male colleagues are sent to hell in this world. The sleazy one who insults sy at drinks was already recording jong hyon's scumbaggery. That curly haired girl at workplace always used to bad mouth suyong, her store room convo with mr ma shows she also is jealous and insecure of sy's looks and I guessed from it, it was the reason she used to be so prickly about her except when the audit team visits.

By revealing they are living together, I meant in korea living together even though acceptable but, what I guessed from seeing others dramas, is still considered a big thing specially if he is a coworker, like ss and mk never moved in together. So I was just asking why apologize out of blue, incase she's trying to threaten that she will reveal live in at workplace and then affair with sang su or she will be nice she will skip live in part and follow rest of the plan. At that time when she visits suyong noone knows what will happen at episode end, that this thing will come out, it was post mk's visit and gp's partially muted convo, sy starts planning everything and takes a leave from work. anyway, it was just a random question about what her point is as mk always says everything with some reason.

I was just trying to think mk's convo was not a threatening one but no matter how I look at it, it either sounds like a threat or makes no sense given how mk has decided to destroy sang su's career even if she decides to somehow hide the 'other' woman's identity as her 'act' of niceness for sy. Or she just wants sy to convince sang su to go back to mk.

Honestly, while writing this comment I realized sy had been subjected to way too much amount of humiliation at her workplace, no wonder she has a twisted mindset.

Still not clear as he is managing when he is sitting in mongolia and why is that securities' fund female head so loyal to him. More than that what he us doing is legal as he bribes those prosecutors with traceless money laundering route.

I wish his job was made more clear or maybe I am dumb .

    From what I understand:

    - Hwang and Myung wanted to frame General Son. So they fabricated in General Son's ledger that 5 billion (million?) won was assigned to Bluenet, CEO Yoon's company.

    - Hwang had CEO Yoon arrested, and PJK came in as her mom was in the interrogation room. Both Hwang and PJK knew her mom was clean, but Hwang said that with the evidence they had collected, her mom would go to jail since all appearances were that General Son had bribed Bluenet.

    - PJK took a deal with Hwang to save her mom from conviction. She would go to Bluenet's financial records and fabricate a line in the ledger, saying Bluenet received money from Son. (I think this was explicitly shown in Ep 6 when PJK was at the computer). She also made it look like her mom stamped a document. Although, now that I think about it, I'm not sure how this saved her mom from jail?

    - PJK did save her mom, but then Hwang acted first. He put out word that PJK had forged these documents. This may have been why she left the prosecution service.

    - Her mom was very upset when she learned of the deal between Hwang and PJK. In order to save her daughter (from shame?), she left a voicemail to General Son before she died, saying that she was the one who forged the documents.

If anyone captured more details, or if any of this is incorrect, please let us know. :)

I actually saw ep 6 just yesterday, so some of my questions about pjk fudging the ledger have been cleared.

He arrests her mom on false accusations that she bribed the assemblyman. What purpose she bribed him for wasn't made clear. Pjk says you are wrong bla bla so pro hwang threatens I will dig into mom's company and find something to arrest, I dunno how she falls for this threat as her mom has always done clean business except that one thing male lead did for to save the company, the stock market manipulation which was also secret. Viewers aren't told why pjk takes that threat seriously. Than later they just show after she fudges the ledger, it gets to media etc and assemblyman son steps down but now this is the absurdest plothole that after he steps down her mom is released for insufficient evidence. Does it make any sense? So if court is releasing her that prosecution can't prove beyond reasonable doubt that her mom was involved in bribery case then what about the fudged ledger? Even though fake, wasn't that enough of a proof? And if she is acquitted how come it doesn't also clear assemblyman son's name. Like yoon didn't bribe him and court frees her, that means assblyman son was also innocent? But then her mom announces to press her ledger was manipulated and she will investigate, assblyman Son also agrees. In this whole scheme her mom's acquittal doesn't even fit.

Or probably assblyman son was offered a deal to willfully resign so her mom will be let go, but despite all that he stands outside court as if he is still guilty and promises to clear his name when just few minutes back court said there isn't enough evidence. Then did prosecution even submit the ledger to court? Like if ledger isn't enough for court then what is it assemblyman son is fighting for? His name is supposed to be clear?

  8. Guys I am a bit confused about the convo when mk visits sy at university branch. Firstly, what was her purpose fot apologizing over busting her live in status, was she threatening indirectly that she will out it at bank or something else? It was so random, then the entire convo thay followed didn't make sense to me. What was her point. Here's the convo:

Mk: I came to apologize. Sorry?  found out you were living with Jong-hyeon…  when I visited your house the last time.  I told Sang-su about it. You know why I did that, right? But still, I'm sorry. It was a personal matter.  I used it to my advantage. I tried to resent you.

Sy: That's okay. You can resent and despise me.  That would make me feel better.

Mk:That's exactly why… I don't want you to feel better. I want you to feel bad, knowing that I like you. Let that be a reason to think twice about him.  I want you to continue feeling guilty.

Like obviously if you are saying this, it means you hate them. If she's telling her I am going to still like you what does it mean, how is this going to benefit sy in any way and the girl is apparently quite resentful already. What was the hidden meaning? She said I am going to lile you, let this be a reason to think twice about him. Either it's netflix's usual poor translation or her dialogues were written gibberish. So does she mean that I am not harming you so thank me for this and use it as a chance to think about sang su's future again which I am going to ruin if you two don't stop?

    Is that what it meant?

Secondly, if we assume which is likely, whether sy and gp slept or not, that they started the affair rumors to protect sang su, now sy's character has openly been tainted as tramp-ish and it reaffirms the old, albeit false image that she sleeps with many men, so people could easily assume she slept with sang su as well, and mi kyong could still spread the scandal on both, so I don't get when mi kyong can still out them both how is this move gonna help sang su, maybe next episodes will reveal as logically it makes no sense. Second thing atleast mr yang's wife had proof of dating in photos etc, but what is the proof mk has to expose them both? Just that diary sang su has?

  9. Woww!!!! After ep 1 and 2, ep 12 is the best one. Really an eventful episode finally with lot of things happening, like whole sequence about mr yang's cheating, discussion about him at work, discussion with him sitting in restaurant, sang su's character development, mk openly acting btchy removing the mask, and gosh what an obsessive psycho case is she, she belongs in a mental facility.

Okay so I have a lot to say on this episode even tho some of it will be myself repeating same stuff about b.tch rich girl and pathetic security guard.

So I don't think so I need to repeat anything on mk and her unending manipulation attempts. All I said about her mom and her has proven to be correct and repeating itself. Did you guys also notice how her mom tries to rub into sangsu's mom's face their status difference just that his mom stays unfazed. And most of all when she feels appalled that the lower ones are rejecting her daughter when it has to be 'us' rejecting the guy.

I agree a lot with what above poster hong banjang had mentioned, giving mk airtime (tho luckily it was still less than prev ep) but how many times we can see that worthless trash repeating her tactics. And again the extreme frustration towards ss and sy to not stand up for themselves or as assertively as needed and for not saying straight up 'no's' when needed. And why mk dresses up like a flight attendant or an elite massage centre or spa's receptionist.

My main attraction towards this show was lot of realistic portrayals of several things, like a toxic work environment, her colleagues' thinking, sy and ss's many personality traits, yes those traits are quite real, the way sy reacts in some situations getting mentally burdened by others comments and povs, fearing their reactions, her constant fears of this and that which is actually more of overthinking are quite real. But despite that ss and sy being shown as total pushovers who never speak up when needed, like when mk is refusing to break up, (she is literally treating break up as a divorce, heck people don't even act like this on divorce) and sang su not giving her a stern 'no' and instead saying he is giving her time, or not turning down mall invitation by her mom, and then sy letting mk take away her coffee and listening to her crap throughout silently etc etc is just too much and unreal, even most silent people snap up, but unfortunately in a show where most of the things shown were closer to reality, writers relied on these absured always remain silent and get treated as doormat traits in both ml and fls to take story forward.

It was extremely humiliating how her mom is literally ordering sangsu around at mall making him carry bags, forcing clothes on him etc etc. Would she have done same RickRoll'D if he was a chaebol son? She would be drinking wine pouring into his shoes than treating him like an errand boy with no right to decide for himself. I think this is where it all comes down what always miffs one about mk and her mom that they think oh we want so and so person, okay so now we will shower gifts and money on them; fine do it, but no we won't just do it by talking, asking politely and gifting with respect, we will drag them out to shops and places like they are servants and throw stuff at them. I always felt what was off about mk and her family and I realized they don't give you gifts, dinners and stuff with respect, like they won't see if someone is okay with it or not, he is in a mood to take that favor, is it acceptable to him/her, above all WHAT IS HIS/HER OPINION on entire meeting/shopping date with you, no but they think he/she is poor or less rich so he has no ego, self respect, we don't even need their opinion about anything from buying clothes to hanging out with them, we will drag them out like puppies, then throw the gifts in a disrespectful way which will make other person seem like he has been waiting all his life for these gifts. And they expect in their heads these favors are huge for them so how dare they refuse them. Never in their right state of mind would they ever treat a chaebol guy this way. Mk and her mom are disgusting, worthless people. What they deserve is a person telling them straight what their actions are like and throw stuff back in their faces, but thus far only person who sensed the humiliation and returned it was ss's mother. They assume less-rich-than-us people are by default born indebted towards us.

Mk was threatening ss about his career when that fails she threatens about sy then she threatens 'you think since we aren't married nothing big will happen'. I found her last threat very weird because no matter what as long as he isn't married the fallout will never be this big and then luckily it was confirmed by manager at bank who tells sang su, 'you aren't in a bad position but your biggest issue is mk's family'. So she knows his real threat is herself using the dad; like always duhh!, to ruin him, she is a total pos. After everything failing on ss she tries to emotionally manipulate sy, I didn't get that rubbish convo, ' I will like you so you will be guilty etc etc', like if you are telling them that then ofcourse it means you hate them lolzzz. And the sudden change in mk's tone going from sweet to her nasty self, and yet people think she deserves happiness. She is too shameless that she isn't acceping whether sy exists there or not he won't ever want to be with her. Her convo at uni branch is her way of bribing sy that I won't harm you two if you leave him alone, so even if sy abandons him which she does and sang su still wants to break up with mk even if he doesn't get sy, she will still screw over both these people's lives.

I really hope there is a special place in hell for people like mk. And it's funny the only thing she can snatch from sy is just a coffee cup, that's just how much her influence can go.

Sang su was very impressive this episode, it was a strong character development and it was announced by writers as well when sy tells him, you have changed.

Before I say anything about jh did we see his side chick's guts to openly diss his gf?. Like she deserved a slap right there, and can we see how pathetic jh is that not only that he is emotionally cheating, he doesn't even aggressively stop her and then shamelessly lets sy pay for the drinks. Again sy not refusing the meeting, again her not refusing to pay, acting same pushover like always, fault clearly lies more with her.

I won't say much on jh as he is too worthless to waste words on. It doesn't look like she slept with gp, they started the rumors because when gp gets punched the way he is smiling broadly, then sy laughing in ep 13 preview, all looked like a planned setup. And I guess I was right that gp didn't cheat on mk. I am just afraid at this point gp is manipulating sy into this cheating stuff because he wants mk to be happy, he was never disloyal to sang su so far so I hope he isn't being selfish here for his ex!

There was absolutely no excuse for her sorry excuse of a human dad to cheat, like him talking about love and RickRoll'D was shocking, he was a 50 plus married man with 2 grown up kids and he went to have another family and then he calls it love? And how did writers draw parallels between dad and sy when she had always been in love with ss, not like falling in love with him after starting a new relationship. The whole analogy is wrong and I dunno why writers shoved that in.

Lot of stuff remained vague in the show, so we don't know what she means when she tells dad, 'you are still of no help'; it felt like she had decided career and relationship suicide like her sandcastle analogy, she knows ss is determined and he will take the plunge, mk will ruin his career and will shame her as well, which will also expose it to jh, so it's best to ruin every prospect with sang su, to take the fall for everyone even for jh's upcoming cheating, but somewhere maybe she wants her dad to give a different advice that will stop her but he also says what she has planned. But seriously why take advice from a scumbag cheating father of 2 kids and husband of a wife who was slogging like crazy to earn money.

Sy had started her relationship with jh outside the convenience store, the store permanently shutdown now was a symbolism of an end of their relationship. The snagging ring was also another symbolism of a mismatched pair.

In the last scene when he storms into bank, sy doesn't look nervous or worried, she looks so calm as if she has planned the whole thing in a way to lead to this, like baiting jh about the affair, making him run to the bank raging and then create scene. It seems before mk starts rumors on their affair, she wants to preempt it by getting herself linked to another guy at workplace to protect sang su. I don't know why she doesn't breakup with jh, had she told him beforehand she is done with him without mentioning cheating he might have caused scenes but left her eventually without so much drama, but the writers used jh as a plot device to take plot forward. Writers want sy to protect sang su's repute and to do so she should get caught cheating with some guy while being in a relationship with another, who will do this at workplace better than jh? So they turned jh into a jerk, it also helped turning him into a jerk so that we viewers won't feel bad for jh in any which way, which actually lol worked for me. Also in a misogynistic society like korea (or for that matter any other) a guy acting this way for wife or gf will get sympathies than bring considered a scumbag, so likely this clown isn't in for much trouble.

I still demand writers to give explanation why sy always forced jh to stay with her throughout and now when she realizes a break up is inevitable why she does this to jh instead of talking it out with him at home, he could have screamed, yelled and all but it wouldn't be anything like what he did at workplace. Like seriously what is he? A loser from underdeveloped part of world where honor killing is still practiced against women that he acts this way?

The last scene when ss hears those words from clown bf he shockingly looks at sy, we hear a scream like ear ringing sound and camera focuses on sy's face, she legit had HORROR movie expressions, for a second I thought it's a horror film am watching, what a good direction and perfectly given expressions by mgy. She impressed in this episode.

I liked ep 12 a lot, dunno about next episode, preview is good but how it turns out, we don't know, but a very well done episode.

Tbh I see gp and sy as very similar people with deep secretive personalities, can they two be together. I want a kissing and bedroom scene between two, couldn't mk imagine one for gp and sy next episode?

  10. The show attained it's highest ratings thus far which I find quite awkward because it happened after cheating started, audiences surely love all cheating shows.

I was noticing that sang su's mother is quite a contrast to majority kdrama moms, in other dramas mothers are dying to get their sons married to rich girls and totally hate on a poor background gf like su yeong, if his mom was like any other kdrama mom or how mothers from korean society are shown at this point she would have been blackmailing, crying, wailing, jumping and whatnot, reminding him how hard it was to give birth to him to force him to marry mk.

I really find it weird that mk has a thing in always insulting sy over lunch/dinner. When sy announces she's volunteering and after that she and her colleagues are having lunch, mk and others start asking about why she volunteered etc, then what mk says to sy meant this, 'ya right you are moving to a different branch but we will get to see you daily in the morning and it's only 3 months so it's not a big deal you are moving', which was quite rude of her as noone wanted to move and they knew suyong was an easy target to grind by all higher ups so likely why she yielded, that's why the smart older colleague instantly gets something is off btw sy and mk, and asks sy.

I like how his mother is so perceptive that she notices sang su ignoring mk at bank, then she notices mk visiting alone, it was very sensible of her to advice mk to only visit with sang su because she understands something is off between two and that mk is trying to earn her favors by coming alone to manipulate her and to use her as a card against her son, so she preempts all such efforts beforehand.

It also looks very weird that the day his mom gets a call that rent won't be changed, mk barges in with fancy food for his mother completely out of blue and it was for the first time as his mom looks shocked. So like if you want that person you are giving a favor, to not find out you are behind it to save them from embarassment, naturally you are going to avoid them, it, but instead she visits with tonn load of food same day so that the mother will instantly realize even if she hadn't guess before and will be thankful for the favor and food. I am lowering your rent and now buying you fancy food so be my obedient slave. I wonder if his mom hadn't noticed the distance between two what she would have done. The shot specifically shows the large amount of expensive food she had brought, then we see mother half heartedly eating it, the whole shot felt very symbolic, like the fancy food lying before mom is mk's wealth she is using to buy her and mother lazily eating is her lack of interest in her status and her not bothering with it. Even after so much manipulation one is supposed to feel bad for her? Lowering rent was bad but visiting with bags of food was like rubbing it in her face,  and she expects people to still love her? Imagine how worthless you consider some people are that you casually walk in with food and stuff to buy them, and how emotionally daunting it would be for the person who has identified how they are getting treated. Mk needs a mom in law from kbs weekend dramas.

His mother rejecting the favor also shows the married life sequence in ep 10 was an imagination; most likely, because there he sees her giving his mom pocket money but here his mom is not even allowing lowering of rent let alone take money, infact she didn't accept any amount from her own son when she went to get loan.

I had noticed a thing from quite the start when mk approaches sang su she does it straight with the intention of getting married to him, this is why she calls him missing puzzle piece. When people start dating they do to know each other, check compatibility, spend good time together to reach a decision but mk starts it off with intention to marry him not respecting the fact that while this might be her thinking but not other person's, he may need his long time to decide to marry or quit, she didn't even give him time to think when she forcefully makes relationship public to increase social pressure on him.

In lying game when su yeong says I could have gotten back at mr yuk but I chose to ignore, it was very disturbing because it showed how strongy she wished to take an action against him but she couldn't.

  11. God I am so done with migyeong, she is scary and a psycho case. I got goosebumps from her this episode. Sadly ep 11 was so much of a waste of time because of migyeong's tactics to delay the breakup, could writers not have added some more developments or better scenarios than wasting an entire epiosde on her delaying it.

Anyways, this episode pleasantly offered some light moments which were so funny that you would forget how serious show was going, like when sang su ends up chuckling in the store room, atleast guy still remembers how to laugh. Then the entire meeting of three friends, and the entire convo, lol @ pms, using pms as an excuse over pregnancy to visit an obgyn was writers attempt to change the typical trope, it was kinda hilarious when both pat his shoulders in the end like he is going to fight a war.

Except for few things sang su's mom has said in past episodes that I didn't like, her character has always been likeable and very mature. It was so good to hear her say, 'no, I will not hide anything fron sang su'. It was so refreshing to see her decimate mi kyeong's usual sneaky b tcy schemes by refusing to hide stuff from son. I don't know why she turns down mk's offer, whether she sees her son is not into her and she's trying to buy the mom out or she just has a strong pride to not let that happen, but whatever it was, it worked out great and showed not everyone in this world is available for purchase for likes of mk etc.

I really find mk weird that she pretends to be all sad and solemn that dad got her promotion but she uses same tactics to buy people with money, to get sang su promotion. Infact, she was so sneaky after calling dad over at office she pretends it was unannounced. Then she is always spending dad's money and using it to buy people, but pretends to be sad and all when dad tells her to leave the job. If we see this job is so much needed by a needy person, her paycheque there is just a pocket change for her. In lying gane whem sy pretends to be a rich daughter, things she wishes were all from mk.

Jeong hyeon clearly has something going with the junior, but whatever he cheats or goes to another galaxy, I just hope he is just gone for good. His acting is also quite same throughout the show with exact same dialogues. Oh and the pride has fallen as he still wants to stay. Why doesn't su yeong raise a puppy.

Su yeong is also a psycho case, neither she leaves jh nor is she now discouraging sang su, like what is wrong with her? Can't she think of sorting her life out. I don't have any sympathy left for her character but her part with bf is torturous, also her mom has totally disappeared.

Those guys from another branch were always sexist, I don't know why sy listens to them quietly and not slam a plate on their head, I don't even see any use in recording them if noone is reporting them, they need to be beaten up and sent to jail. I don't even get how they started to suspect her as the mistress, like were they crazy.

It seems GP prolly knew this convo will come up and that's why takes her there to tell her what can await her. Anyways, I didn't like gp advising sang su to stop and this and that and sacrifce love etc. Like seriously man he isn't married, it was a forced dating and it's the psycbo gf trying to get married and making it public, why the hell should he sacrifice anything, he should date sy even if people gossip and stuff.

I don't get why sy doesn't reject the dinner invite when she knows mk has a habit of insulting them and also that she is now cheating with the bf, she shouldn't go. Mk in her usual style does the same, insulting the guests underhandedly, and this time she crosses the limits. It felt so rude towards jeong hyeon for what she did as he doesn't deserve to be insulted by her, whatever her problems are, are with sy and ss.

Now imagine that she is doing this intentional humiliation after knowing something is going on between her bf and girl, but in the previous dinner when she invites and insults them, there wasn't anything as such for her to act this way, but she was so aggressive and nasty that without any reason she insulted them both. I have come to realize that writers in this show will never clearly spell out the actions of characters as well as characters as evil etc, they will keep writing it subtly for viewers to take them however they want. I saw some prople were complaining online that he breaks up on mk's birthday, he is so baddd etc etc but if we look back, it was also sy's bday when she plans that party and of all days insults them on that day and shows off her closeness towards ss to hurt sy, then painting and throwing rug. SY also didn't drserve that on her birthday. Writers now showed it is mk's birthday and everything happens, it looked everything they were showing mk did on sy's bday has been reversed back at her on her own important day, her bday.

I would have felt bad for mk had she been a nice person, but the way she had been stepping over other people just for nothing, she deserves humiliation to come her way and I am not even including the fact that he clearly told her he wasn't into her, and she kept acting clingy. Also the scene where she force-hugs him outside the bank, like don't they have some decorum how to behave at workplace and not go around hugging, romancing plus mk doing her usual manipulative stuff in doing pdas to always force sang su.

She was so shameless when she screams at him to tell on su yeong that she is living with bf. Like whether sy is living with him or not, why are you forcing someone to stay with you who wants to go, was never into you, does his happiness not count?

The scene that really got to me was the car scene; the guy is telling her to stop and she's screaming, not listening and crying while driving, gosh, she gave me goosebumps and that's when I realized she is a psychopath and a total nutjob, anyone who shows such behavior during driving is never a normal person. I felt so scared for ss and I wanted to vomit instead of her and wanted sang su to run away at the speed of rocket, she is a psycho who can't let go of people and wants to possess them in whatever way she could and through every kind of manipulation like she discloses sy's live in status. She needs a psychologist instantly. Meanwhile sang su and sy both need to go seperate and meet after 1 year and get married or date if they want to.

Mk had saved his name as 'my person', is she sure she thinks of him more than an object she possesses or a fixture.

Anyways, drama is still enjoyable, guys keep watching.

I think you#re talking about actual school teachers not being able to privately tutoring their students, because it would be bias

No, not actual school teachers, like remember seeing in shows anyone offering home tutoring was considered taking risk and if caught could be sued something. So from that I had assumed non academy teacher visiting home tutoring is not allowed/illegal in korea but people secretly might do. This is what I had assumed, so maybe I took it wrong or something (don't remember but saw that in many shows), this is why I was surprised if he is offering private lessons, doesn't he fear law or drama writers are okay with showing something like this.

Mi Kyong needs to stop being so desperate, what was she trying to achieve by bringing all four of them together

Imagine being born to rich family, having best schooling in the world, then attending one of the best universities and still having this small a character to invite people over dinner to humiliate them. This is what she has been all through the show and hence, I have zero sympathy for her. What's the use in attending best colleges if all your personality amounts to is being same as an uneducated ahjumma with no manners.

where students were lining up to go to these private academies after school like zombies.

That's almost every korean show but this isn't what I meant. Private academies are a rage and legal, but I think I saw in some shows that a teacher visiting home and giving private lessons isn't allowed, which is what male lead offers in this episode for hae yi as a solution. So I wanted to know about this, is it legal now ir still illegal. Like I saw in some shows people get caught if they arrange private lesson at home in korea etc.

  15. I think the person shooting ball bearings is tutor's secretary, he might have severe obsession with him and anyone he see is trying to hurt him, he attacks them, like at first hae yi's mom at her store, the stalker girl now young min because he misbehaves with tutor, he is the only one who knows people who were hurting the teacher.

I like this drama, but I get so tired of moms power tripping over their kids' education. Is this a real thing in Korea? Does it really happen?

My son is graduating from nursing this December and is a straight A student without going to any academy. I never pressured him like these moms. It is so tragic. These moms need to get a life.

And it's so weird that koreans really behave like these school curriculums are extemely high level tough and need hardwork and what not and that their people learn toooooo much compared to others, but when their actors and celebs and even younger ones like kpop idols appear on tv they don't know some very common knowledge things that are on fingertips of people from different parts of world. And as if that is not enough they also keep saying something demeaning about other countries. To me it seems they exaggerate common stuff that normally every students from other parts of world also learn but don't make a big deal about it.

Like once I was watching a kdrama and they were showing everyone going crazy about marks, scores to get into top american universitues and they would fight and cry even over 1 point, whilst I personally knew people who got into those universities with above average but not superb scores and normal applications.

  16. I was excited for this show but seeing ep 4 preview I feel it will go in typical kdrama tropish side and this show will be just another version of drama uncle, I don't think so I would like to bother tuning into a show to see bunch of students' mom acting nasty with each other getting into catfights. This drama looks like will be like Uncle, and moms might plot to get hae yi out of the class, and object on star teacher's and mom's friendship, looks like lot of frustrating angst might come. I hope to be proven wrong but if it takes that angsty tone and throws in typical tropes of schemes and what not, I will drop it, I was staying as it was quite heartwarming till ep 3, ep 4 preview is not pleasant.

  17. I have a certain confusion about ages of main leads. Sooyoung is a high school graduate and joins the bank, don't know if it was mentioned but how long sooyoung worked at bank before sang su joined. Also if I am not wrong sooyoung was always a bank teller and sang su joined afer passing out from university, so wasn't he hired on a senior position than her then why was she assigned to train him? Now of ages, I always assumed sy, ss and mk were same age but when mk visits sy's house she says something about her own age being older and pressured to be married, so how much older are ss and mk from sy?

I am not sure if should give credit to the writers or not, but it feels as if every single dialogue and line on the show has been written with a thought and purpose behind it, and barring some situations these lines look so close to how humans tend to act. But then I also feel confused was there actually a thought involved or they just casually wrote just some lines but somehow they ended up looking so scenario-perfect by chance. Like for instance lot of things mk says and does are hallmark of manipulative personalities and there is no shred of doubt that she's a manipulator, however, in some situations you wonder when she did certain things, were they also intentional or were just random?, like when she throws the rug, or when she always sneakily and indirectly tells suyoung to marry jong hyeon, you don't know for sure is there a vendetta behind it or just random, but yet these actions perfectly depict people who actually do such sneaky things.

I wanted to write more on mikyeong's character. What I find very scary and disturbing about her is her habit of planting thoughts and ideas into others heads for her own final goals. Prolly I have been around people much nastier than mikyong so I could notice her, and sad part is that people like her pretend to be your well wishers, but they desire certain outcomes of their choice from you and from overall situation, so they put up a smiley face, a friendly, pretentiously caring persona, then plant those thoughts in form of suggestions. Terrible part is that one takes those suggestions seriously assuming the other person is my friend, but they are actually bad suggestions and when purused only bring unhappiness and trouble for the target. Even worse is that victim doesn't realize what has been done to them until something happens that exposes the fake person or victim(for lack of better word I am using victim) moves out of that setup to a different one, loses connection with manipulator and then starts noticing what they were subjected to. Again unfortunately, majority people going through this never realize that.

We don't know the reason mikyong from first day at work decides sang su will be the one she will chase. So when she hears praises about su young's beauty, she knows she can be a threat to her eventual goal and final puzzle piece sang su. Hence, out of nowhere amongst all colleagues she picks her to shower her favors on, gives her hand me downs, in her head she was keeping her enemy closer to her and trying to preempt any possible threat, only that the b.tch didn't know a lot has happened in ss and sy's lives.

Remember when she takes sy out to rug artwork shop, when she hears from sy that she is dating someone at work she automatically assumes the person is going to be sang su so she starts getting tense.

After hearing she is dating jh, she feels relieved but she knows battle ain't over, that to come to the point of marriage with sang su, it will take a very long time as he is visibly not warming up to her. With su young around she will always be insecure about him drawing away towards her so she tries to push the idea of marriage and kids on soyoung by talking about kids or bringing up her relationship with jh again and again as if she knows sy has found the best man

I don't know how dating works in korea, but afaik if two people are dating and haven't announced their engagement it is bad manners to talk about that couple's future kids.

In episode 8, after pmk has dinner with dad and she angrily leaves, she arrives at restaurant for team dinner, outside ss and sy are standing, to sound him out she pretends to propose giving a ring which was a golf ball. She ascertains how unprepared he is, plus at work she also always notices and stares at him and sy during office interactions, then also spots them outside restaurant. After seeing reaction she takes him to golfing but next day she comes and asks sy to come to dinner at her place.

She feels threatened by her presence and her instincts tell ss, who isn't much interested in marrying her can fall for another beautiful competent woman in the vicinity, so to establish herself as a strong couple before sy and to show sy and jh as a strong couole before ss, she plans that stupid RickRoll'D dinner.

Mk knows sy is in early stages of dating, jh has an insignficant career, they are young and marriage is nowhere near but she intentionally says, 'oh now I know why elders said good looking couples make beautiful children etc' and 'you two suit each other'. These were her ways of planting marriage thoughts in sy and jh's minds without any sincere care that are they even compatible or will work out long term-ish, from her end they can both go to hell as long as sy doesn't remain a threat. The way she pressures ss into relationhip by kissing publicly she was trying to force her threat sy into marriage. But by that time sy had seen through her due to painting incident, intentionally asking jh about his education and then comparing it with her own and ss's to tell them they both are from higher group and how much sy and jh are below them.

When mk constantly compliments sy and jh's relationship and then talks about making pretty kids, sooyong does look at mk with the slightly shocked look that mk knows jh's career is practically nowhere and that financially he is not at par with sy or to support a family, (sang su being financially below mk is different as he already has a good career and a potentially bright future plus she herself is trying to buy him out) but incase of sy it's not important to her the guy is a match for sy or not, to her they are just 2 low class people she wants to get married and be out of her way. Sy sees through that insensitive attitude, hence, her stern expressions.

When she visits sy's house and tells her 'oh at my age there is pressure for marriage', also kind of seemed like her indirectly asking her to not stand in her path by emotionally appealing to her, it was similar to her emotionally blackmailing sang su when she tells him not to break up as everyone at work knows now.

There were numerous ocassions I felt mk tries to plant ideas in sooyoung's head for her goals and even in sang su's too but I don't specifically recall. I chose to write this comment as I really wanted to talk about this specific behvior writers have shown and as mk's calculativeness is so well written it doesn't look like a coincidence o wanted to say that it is one of the scariest things one could experience. Someone who wears a pretty smile, acts kind and carries out their vendetta by sneakily brainwashing you as most people can't see through that.

I wish other people over here discussed this drama a lot, even if their povs were different, writers have written characters with complexities and it's nice when people share their perspectives. Can't everyone here watching this show add their thoughts too, it would be so fun.

  18. Does someone understand and could explain what is the document the female prosecutor forges, what was her mom arrested for and what was rhe entire deal she made and why her mom has to commit suicide in the end. And if her daughter forged the document how did it help in acquitting mom.

Secondly, how does eun young earn money. Is he earning through right means than how was he offering that traceless transactions deal to prosecutors.

    Episode 5

      Hide contents

Finally we get more scenes of Eun Yong and Park Jun Kyung, eating dinner together, hanging out at her place, getting takeout coffee early in the morning, etc. They are all short scenes but at least they're spending time together :) .

Chairman Myung is full-on evil. I got very nervous for CEO Oh when they were meeting on the rooftop (why do kdramas always have intense confrontations on rooftops? Why can't they have them at street level?)

Myung's daughter isn't all that clean, either. I guess she's even more ambitious than Hwang Gi Seok. In this episode I felt more sympathy for Hwang than I have before - he seems like a pawn for his father-in-law, his wife, and other bigwigs who want to stay out of legal trouble. Sure, he's a willing pawn and he enjoys the power he has, but it makes sense he drowns his stress in wine and curses his father-in-law when his wife returns home.

Sneaking Chairman Myung out of prison was a clever move on the cartel's side. Eun responded by turning himself in, and it looks like in the next episode we'll see the prison brawl. Hopefully he won't be in jail too long...

Park Hoon stole the show for me today. He was broody, humbled, evil, and pitiful while drunk. He was fun to watch. His fashion wasn't half bad, either. B)

The coffee looked quite good lol

Hwang gi seok's fashion is so on point but I find it such a contrast that on one hand his outfits are well tailored but the nephew actor's suit and trousers were very tight on him, he looked stuck in them that even his gait was affected, he should get his own wardrobe or take it up with stylist.

I've been reading good phrases  and reviews for this drama. One even went as far as saying one of the best for 2022. Busy with holiday festivities so wasn't able to watch all 8 episodes.  But watching now.

@larus can I request a thread pls. I read fromn soompi news  Park Ji Hoon got an offer star in the adaptation of "basstard". I've been wanting for drama adaptation of this psycho thriller from same author of "Sweet Home"  but the latter was adapted to small screen first.

I wonder if RickRoll'D is also on bullying.

This thread has so little responses, would have liked to see a bigger discussion. I am kind of new as a poster but I saw some old threads crossing 500 in page counts and nowadays every thread is dead. Where did the posters even go.

  20. Ep 10 while watching felt quite boring and long except few scenes that were engaging, but after finishing it, I felt even though it wasn't as good as first 6 episodes, overall it was a good episode which pulled drama back to it's initial track, i.e., sang su and su yeong getting attracted to each other. In a way the episode also came a full circle, quite similar to what su yeong said at bus stop. Sooooo I have a lottttttttttt to say. I think I almost wrote a book on ep 10.

Lot of things in epiosde really infuriated me, but before that I must commend Mikyeong for coming out as a complete nasty b.tch, not that if she hadn't acted as manipulative and b.tchy as she did in ep 10, I would have felt bad for her for getting cheated on.

Okay few things, Ms bae and other coworkers are seriously very toxic. So firstly, when they are on street, these women were gossiping about her mom, like they don't even spare a random restaurant owner from being their gossip topic and they discuss ruthlessly. Then as if it wasn't enough, she spits it out before mikyeong too that oyster owner is sy's mom and then ms bae something ironically states, 'oh I am very good with secrets'!!!

I had always understood su yong avoiding mom because it's understandable she is angry at her, and even though she feels too harsh for doing that, like completely abandoning mother because she took back her brother's killer ( that's how su young sees her dad), her anger was still understandable but now it has been too long that she has been avoiding mom and also that now she has leg problem she comes off as heartless, but what feels too disturbing is that it seems su yong herself feels ashamed of her mother's poverty and that's why wanna hide from coworkers as each time her mom walks past her when sy is with colleagues, sy would bow her had down like avoiding some shameful secret from spilling over. It's kinda weird as she despite knowing jong hyeon's state still dates him and didn't even hide it from MK and SS.

Why mk is suddenly wearing those giant white and black scrunchies. Gyeong pil was extremely funny in this episode, it was the best scene in this entire show when gp makes a clown out of him and sang su runs to ask her why she is quitting. It's also interesting that how clever gp is that he knows ss has feelings for sy and he intentionally does that to make him realize that. I find GP's character quite a good one plus actor is a gem.

I don't think there will be enough words to tell what gem of an actor yys is in these kind of roles, he goes beyond character and makes it look real. In the scene when he rushes to grab sy's wrist thinking she's quitting, yys actually firstly let out a desperate sigh before he stopped her, this is how detailed yys is.

Although not a fan of mky's acting but must say her scenes with yys are always so amazing even if their dialogues are random, dunno why? Their chemistry is fire it's not even that of a couple in love, rather they both have the expressions and look in their eyes of 2 people who are longing for each other for years, like for many years specially yys's eyes. They both have done very good job in expressing the passionate gaze.

About few scenes now, when JH messages sy to talk to him after she returns from a long day at work and visiting a distant city, same day when mk drops by at sang su's place, and again when mk asks sang su to come and meet her after a long day at work but he refuses, I am kind of speechless, so these bfs and gfs don't have any care that their partners had  long day at work and at night when they are back to home they need to relax and rest but instead they are making them more tired by visiting them or dragging them outisde. Particularly jh's scene was very off putting, she's back from a long painful day and this idiot takes her out to some corner coffee shop to do his usual crybaby nonsense.

This episode jh pissed me off like never before. This character started out well and ended up hideously bad. The way he thanks sang su for dropping off su yong showed his jealousy, it was his way of warning him to stay away from his gf, like listen clown, firstly, grow up into a man who learns to value and repect his gf who is sacrificing so much for him before acting like a tough guy before others. So glad he is moving out. Also why did he not clean up after himself, the house as mess with his stuff and clothes strewn across and she was cleaning it up. I am also confused with his character, he is working part time at bank, he prepares for police exam, can't he find another better job during this time or try to improve his prospects instead of always just crying and playing victim. And if he had so much pride he should have left her place many moons back, instead he keeps leeching off and off and then when she gives money to help, he again plays egotistic only to take that money few minutes later. He even said in ep 9, I was kind of waiting for you to ask me to move in, the guy just wants to keep leeching off a nona or play egotistical or cry about his hurt pride but has little in him to achieve. I think su yeong is more of a mental case herself to keep going with such guy. It seems like he is cheating. What still baffles me is someone with such a fragile pride and money issues and no career, how he had the courage to approach a woman and that too one who was better than him.

Now mk, so woman has such gall to date her bf while her ex is working right there and she never tells him but now that she is busted, she runs to him to play innocent and seriously has the guts to ask him about his past affairs. Like you were being sneaky all this time so don't try to get it out from others too.

Gp knows about her cousin, who seems to be dad's right hand, which means something happened between him and gp and that could be the cause of break up, there is more to the story. It's clear sang su took her to meet his mom not because he wants to marry but because he wanted to shock her. Her mother is also a pretentious b.tch who was just using his mom, the moment she discovers he is her son, she gives most ridiculous reason to reject him, 'my friend's tenant's son'.

I could be wrong but it seems mk calls her dad to come and meet sang su at work as her dad says, 'I came because you asked for a favor'. But I still don't get why he met him at workplace and not outside. So it was quite noticeable that mk had arranged her dad to meet him at workplace but after the meeting she tells him, 'it was shocking, I didn't know he will come bla bla'. So after planning it all is she acting oblivious?

I find sang su and su yong quite irritating that when someone tries to force them into something they don't say no or react strongly, rather they let them walk all over them. Those were extremely poor manners from mk to appear unannounced at sy's door, sy should have told her to talk outside as she didn't want her to see them living together but instead she lets her in. Now mi kyong b.tch, so she straight up tells her, 'today our uniform was removed so I brought clothes for you', like seriously? And again sy's dead reaction, oh thanks and takes clothes like she is used to this treatment instead of throwing them outside, something is really wrong with ss and sy. Then mk trying to brainwash and manipulate sy into marrying jeong hyeon by constantly mentioning marriage with him and then funnily rubbing it into her face that ss took her to meet mom, then you should grab my bouqet nonsense with a brazen smile all just showed how she loves to crush others while wearing an innocent smile. Everything in her head is planned. I am so happy watching her run around like a headless chicken getting insecure over sang su and su yeong.

I did find sy's question quite weird at train station, should she break up. It seems she does it because he asks her 'is she happy?'. Don't know what writers were trying to show.

Gyeongpil was really great this episode, hope he wasn't a cheater and there is more to it. Ice rink scenes were shot so well and absolutely awesome whatever happened.

Lots of people would complain about both cheating while many would sympathize as they both were practically living corpses in their relationships. I want to see it from all 4 characters' pov rather than a viewer. Su young is the one who forced jh back into her life and even after his numerous outbursts she made him stay with her like she is raising a puppy, so in that sense it's quite unethical of her to cheat on a person she has been forcefully keeping in a relationship with her, I am still not clear what was her actual motive to keep him as her bf beyond that she sees her bro in him, I wish writers atleast clarified that because she did too much for him for no reason. However, despite her fault to drag this relationship we also see it is practically dead, the guy is a selfish mess who just doesn't see beyond his own issues, perhaps doesn't even see her as a human except a sex doll because the way he is always throwing tantrums, sitting sad and constantly depressed just showed he doesn't care what his gf, another human, feels about his reactions and that instead of always hearing his complaints she needs emotional fulllment too  and amidst all he also crawls back to her to use her in bed, weirdo. So he is also a cause in driving her away, so I don't mind her cheating on him.

Now sang su, so he doesn't wanna date but lamely accepts a relationship even when his heart isn't into it, his partner also pushes herself on him a lot, doesn't respect his pride, openly tries to buy his loyalities through money which he also knows. I am at loss for adjectives to describe mk when she again forces the car on him and then in her usual manipulative way starts crying and playing victim and leaves, so even if sang su had grown to love his partner moving on from sy, the way his gf acts he only gets more distant from her. It always seems clear that in their relationship sang su always sees the financial status gulf between them.

It is also interesting that unlike other characters in the show who are always drooling over at the chance of finding a rich wife, sang su refuses to accept it even when he is getting it on a platter. It was quite striking that in his post-marriage imagination sequence, he sees mk giving his mom spending money and it was even before she gave him suit and car, which shows that mk always behaves this way like throwing money to buy anything and he knows this will be future.  But still from sang su's perspective kissing without breaking up felt quite wrong. BUT seeing how mk had been treating soo young and specifically recently, she deserved a lot more than just that. Also if we see, they didn't plan on kissing and all, they just went out on dinner which sy bailed out on, then he finds her and takes her to the rink and finally they couldn't control their supressed feelings. And then sang su had told her he can only give 1pc and kept staying distant, bur she still didn't want to let him go, rather made it hard for him by letting it out to cowokers. She should know she can't win love through manipulations.

It's also weird that why she is sooo invested in him since the day she joins the bank. Remember on first or second day of joining she faked she can't skate to get phyically close but then he also asks, she never bothered about him in uni. Makes no sense from having 0 interest to strongly pursuing him from first day at job to now and pulling every trick in book to win him over, doesn't look love to me, more like to have someone she can accept as a partner as she is pressured into marrying, and then she wants to force him into marriage.

The whole ice rink scene was so beautifully shot by cinematographer. Also like the playful bgm music that plays at some specific moments. I wonder when su yong goes with the kiss, what she thinks of mk at that moment or she just goes for it as a result of her mistreatment. Anyways, I hope she doesn't feel sorry for mk and atleast just break up with jh whether she dates sang su or not. The 3rd friend is also cheating.

I hope the drama gets more messy and better, ep 10 was really good. Finally after a slump. It's also nice to see how flawed all of them are.

@Shimmery-summer, I am getting impatient too.

The opening scene threw me off. So they did get married Sang-Su and Mi-Gyeong. How far along in the timeline this happened I hope they'll reveal it episode 10.

It is so painful to see the couples interactions/scenes and I don't know how long the writers will drag these clearly unhealthy relationships. The plot is getting old and repetitive.

I was only living for the Sang Su and Su Young scenes. I love seeing SS opens up without prompting. I love how natural he is around SY. And SY with her shield down, she genuinely laughs and just enjoys the present moment.

I don't know if I'll still stick around for the rest of this drama. My patience is running thin. It is shaping up to be that they will wait until the last 2 episodes to get SS and SY their happening ending. If they do end up together that is. Losing interest fast.

You can drop it as it's understandably gotten not just boring infact random, like totally random and absurd scenes. Having said that I am still into it, if it totally goes into dumps then I will leave it. You can keep reading comments here to follow updates and see if you want to pick it back up or not.

Honestly for me, maybe reborn rich even tho great show was so much action packed ( action in sense of too much events not other action) that it gave me post roller-coaster ride feeling, during that time when this slow paced and initially well written show came, it felt very soothing in taking out reborn rich's given stress, so I stuck to it and honestly even now I like the show for it's slow pace, just that scenarios are getting pathetic.

Mainly 2ml parts are such torture now that I badly miss all those bank scenes and even the mean treatment scenes of sy by colleagues shown in early episode, they were so much better than 2ml's current boring repititive stuff.

Opening scene was a horror to me but then I realized he was visualizing how his marriage would be like with her, I seriously hope it was imagination.

  22. Since ep 7 this show has gotten boring and extremely umm directionless which is sad as I had thought it will be better than liberation notes which despite all the flaws remained stuck to it's theme but this one is too random. Ep 9 was boring and not much happened but still atleast they gave us some good scenes between su yeong and sang su which are both well written and well enacted by yoo yeon sook.

So I am again super frustrated with unneeded 2ml, I dunno why they don't improve his character nor remove it, viewers don't deserve this torture. Acting is also very disappointing, he is a grown up man but the actor always talks in cutsey kids like tone like when he tells her at wedding, should we leave. He has esteem issues and he is imposing his personal baggage on su yeong. It's weird someone who runs away in hard times, who acts so cowardly had the determination to approach her and all, writers did an inconsistent job on him. The fact he ghosts her second time after failing test, she should have taken clue he is a quitter who is ill fit for longterm relationships. Also don't like how mi kyong actress also always talks in a childlike tone.

Mi kyeong being her manipultive and selfish self like always. Her status conscious attitude came out very clear this episode. It's ironic she wants to prove herself but wants to use dad's wealth and act haughty on basis of it. I really must say she has been working for peanuts just for some personal complex but she splurges dad's money, which he should block her to do so as she is not contributing any effort towards earning money that she spends like water, I wish her dad had cut her off fully and told her that okay now prove yourself, but here she is out there looking down at everyone including her own bf who she thinks don't own things as expensive as she likes. Forget about buying car and suit, the scenes where she argues and forces him to take the car without any regard for him and hia feelings showed how tactless and spoiled she is. For her she can get anything by throwing money.

I have lost much of the sympathy for su yeong. Her sleeping scene with sml was sickening as she was not into it and she is just forcing herself. The guy literally always talks and acts like her son. I didn't get the scene why she goes to hotel when she sees him sitting outside, I didn't get what hapoens there, but it felt upsetting watching him sit all gloomy outside the house, if you have issues why you want to force them on your gf too. She is doing so much for you can't you do so much as just act positive around her. Back to su young at the beach scene when sang su says, 'I should have been clear', I thought he did propose her clearly even when they were locked in store and she still turns him down, now why suddenly she is getting painted as a victim. I don't feel much sympathy for her suffering now, maybe sang su wasn't the best choice but her current misery is self imposed in form of a useless bf.

Atleast now writers just move the story forward or atleast give more ml and fl scenes. I wish last 7 episodes are all fire and stuff. I was right when I said mk was dating sang su to make gp jealous. Doesn't look like he cheated on her as rumored or if he did there was some reason why he did that as the guy always used to give deep statements that a womanizer wouldn't make, he still seems to care about mk. Also mk feeling jealous of su yeong for being her bf's love interest was ironic when she herself did him so dirty by hiding relationship with gyong pil.

Also her mom is also as super-ficial as daughter, the way she takes a dig at sang su for being raised by a single mom, it is only in korean society I have observed where people are looked down on for being orphans or for being raised by single parent, in other parts of world those parents are praised for doing such a difficult job.
