I think we can expect some steamy scenes here because
1) the same director who directed What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, and same screenwriters who wrote WWWSK.
2) this drama is airing late and during wednesdays and thursdays, I heard that during those days those more mature dramas usually airs. And as we all know, the later a drama airs, more chance for some spicy scenes.
3) TvN. It's a cable channel, and as we know, cable channels have more freedom.I adore My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, and hopefully I will come to adore this one just as much (or more!)

Is Ga Jin gonna betray Ondal? The newest MV of this drama . looks like she does betray him as Ondal is taken by the guardians and thrown into jail ..and we see her then looking sad , a tear falling down...
anyways I’m SO in love with this ost !!!

So, does anyone have second lead syndrome?
I don't , I find Go Geon too arrogant and selfish. And by watching teaser of next ep I think Ga Jin and Ondal will steal my heart completely when watching that ep <3

It sure is fast paced (one of the few dramas that doesn't drag at all) but without feeling rushed. This drama is so refreshing! Seems like Ondal and Gajin will already become a couple next ep?? or at least almost... very refreshing as in most kdramas it can take up to 9-12 episodes before the leads becomes a couple (even in those dramas that have only 16 episodes)

I read bits from the folktale, quite different from this drama and novel(?). In the folktale Pyeonggang does everything she can to make Ondal marry her (for her own benefits) having no feelings for him , they’re basically strangers when she asks him to marry her..at first he refuses, but eventually accepts ..
Anyways , I’m glad Ondal doesn’t hate Pyeonggang after finding out she is the Princess. Shows that despite him being a bit of ”fool” he is still rational and not stupid (In some dramas the ML hates the FL for having a cruel father who destroyed the lives of the ML’s family...but not Ondal, because he understands that it’s not Pyeonggang’s fault) He seems just to fall in love with Pyeonggang even more , as seen in the teaser of next ep! I’m glad their love story is moving fast forward (but still not feeling rushed) it would be a waste if Ondal hated her for a few episodes for stuff that it’s not even her fault, because then there would be less of their sweet/romantic moments-

For lots of people On Dal is the weakest character of this drama... I guess its off putting for some of you because he’s such a ”fool” , and that’s understandable. However, I like him. He’s a good person as already shown when he was concerned about the deer (probably most people during that time era couldn’t care less about animals , if they were in pain).Anyways, he won’t be stuck as just a ”fool” forever. Can’t wait for the love story between On Dal and Pyongggang to start ~
As for Pyeonggang , I have nothing more to add...she is such a badass!! This must be Kim So Hyun’s best role ever.
I was horrified when On Dal’s nanny(?) did what she did to her eyes, wasn’t there less dramatic ways to stop On Dal? Neverthless, all deepest respect to her.
I am loving this drama, so far I have nothing to complain about ~-

I'm starting to have a feeling about how this drama will be.
There will be romance but it might be minimal, like with ”Cruel City”. Tbh I would have prefered too this drama to be without comedy , but at least it won’t be slapstick / childish kind of humor ..:) Fiery Priest (same screenwriter) has also comedy, but it was black humor

i wonder if this will be somewhat similar to "Cruel City" that is full of action, thriller etc and minimal romance? Anyways, fiery priest is a great drama, so much depth and all.. so now i have even higher expectations of this drama. A lot of people are worried about this drama because of comedy tag , but like what has been mentioned before; there is nothing to worry about .. its not some slapstick childish kind of comedy
This drama won't be some shallow superficial one that has basically no plot, it will be deep and complex
not that i always dislike shallow characters with not much of a plot , it can be nice once in a while to watch smth that doesn't require to use brain so much
Are anyone planning to watch this drama with parent(s) or friends ? Since it will be on netflix i'll watcy this with mom since it will have subtitles in our language.. my mom is not used to read english subtitles so ...

He’s pretty good looking indeed. I read somewhere that the 2ml has Been in love with the fl for a long time ...so i’m a bit worrried i get sls lol . If he had fallen in love with the fl about same time as the ml (or later) i wouldn’t be worrying as much xD i feel sorry for those who Been in love with that someone for many years but that person doesnt feel the same way and even falls in love with someone else

I started watching Fiery Priest yesterday just because having smth to watch meanwhile waiting for vincenzo.. ofcourse i Did choose fiery priest because its the same screenwriter
i have 2 dramas to look forward to this month
this one and another drama, yay~
i like dark dramas and it’ll be interesting to watch Song Joong Ki in a dark anti hero role.. in ” the innocent man ” he was somewhat an anti hero too but in this drama he will be so muuuuch more of an anti hero, very dark. Compared to this drama , in the innocent man he is a saint lol
I think he will have some hot chemistry with the FL too , even tho i dont think there will be much romance which Im totally fine with (even tho i am a hopeless romantic at heart ) ..

Maybe I should watch Tale of Nokdu while waiting for this drama
or can anyone recommend me another great romantic historical drama? Anyways, some think they will have sls in here, but i don't think I will... i think i will ship pyeonggang and ondal so much, from the teasers I seen they have great chemistry.. also ondal loves her so much that he'll do anything for her (maybe its not good to be so madly in love with someone so that he/she will go against his/her own principles, but I find it SO romantic!! I <3 unconditional love). Also, Ondal seems a bit of a underdog, i usually root for the underdog and won't the second male's love interest eventually be the second female lead? I seen pics of those 2 and I can feel their chemistry as well. I usually despise love triangles but then again I love Empress Ki...

probably since she was a young girl between 14-16. I think it will happen during the time her mom got assassinated?I'm glad you enjoy the princess man, its one of my all time favoritr dramas!
be prepared tho for lots of heartache, its a roller coaster full of emotions

i think pyeongang/ on dal should be just as great as chun hyang/ mong ryong love story (if not even better) Those 2 couples are the only ones I know of, that are based on korean folktale.
china tho has many love folktales , here are a few for those interested (im sorry if this is not allowed.. if it isnt, just ignore)

I’m so excited for this drama for 2 main reasons : its set during Goreyo dynasty (most historical kdramas are set during Joseon dynasty) and the FL is a badass warrior!! (Ofc also the romance excites me...)
Goreyo seems more idk how to describe... more ”free” than joseon dynasty , women seemed to have more rights, there was no confucianism yet in Korea. Actually not just women , but everyone in general was more free

Great! Thanks for starting this thread! I loved the jdrama’s first 8-9 episodes, after that it went downhill for me
This is What happened in jdrama version, which I hope the k-version will not follow;
FL cheated on ML and then left him with the guy she cheated with!
Other than that it was a very beautiful and touching drama, so romantic
it’s so cool they decided to remake Aishiteiru to Ittekure - 26 years later. A lot has happened since then when it comes to technology etc, the quality/cinematography is much better now! And I think the k-version has to change some things to adjust to today’s watchers, some things what was ok 26 years ago might not be ok today.
Jung Woo Sung , I only seen him in the romantic movie A Moment to Remember (which is amazing) so its not his first time starring in something romantic , beautiful and touching. He was great in A Moment to Remember…as for Shin Hyun Bin, never watched anything with her.
idc about the age gap, both are adults. In j-version there was age gap too. They were younger tho than in this remake, the FL in j-version was in her early 20s, the FL in this version will be older I guess, since Shin Hyun Bin is 36. That gives me some hope actually! That in k-version she will be more mature than the FL in j-version (I really came to dislike her in last few episodes due to her being so immature).
