But . . . I was impressed by SYJ’s facial expressions that went from sassy (pic #1) to witty (pic #2) to embarrassed (pic 3) to sorry (pic 4) to pouty (pic 5) - all in the space of 3 lines and without HB saying anything! She is truly a remarkable actress.-

You’re right - I remember seeing her in the kitchen sliding it out from the box at the beginning when her face was blurred and she said she was nervous.
PS - I thought it was funny that HB’s Soompi page has 4 birthday posts and this BinJin page has about 50!

The posts on twitter refer to Japan’s ANAN magazine September 2020 edition - I have not seen the actual article online. But I don’t think the rumor about them that’s been going on for 2 years was from the article - it was just part of the tweet.

In addition to what everyone else has pointed out about the significance of this, I believe that (1) Song Yoona got SYJ’s approval to post this “like” and (2) another reason for this was to help end the ugly fan war. Another subtle message from SYJ confirming the relationship and trying to end any “other” rumors.-

Very thankful to @celest1al for linking SYJ’s translated Esquire interview! That was a long and detailed interview and I really enjoyed reading it. I like her because she can be so articulate, modest and classy like in that interview, then witty, goofy and hilarious in variety shows and games, while also giving crazy angry and heartbreakingly sad performances.
I think she gives as much thought to her acting as she does her personal life, and that’s why I think that her recent IG post is her subtle way of communicating that she and HB are still together and happy. The fact that she included 2 cakes referencing HB esp the one with the picture, instead of 2 other flower arrangements or plants, is the “message”. Just like their matching Ralph Lauren outfits, her IG liking spree, and the Smart CFs were updates (e.g., “we’re doing fine, still together). I think these periodic and subtle messages are more reflective of them as a couple (given their maturity, thoughtfulness, industry status and experience), and hopefully these messages will continue until (and if) they decide to marry.
Added: In light of the fan war, I take comfort in these “messages” since they’re directly from SYJ.

Good point! They must have gotten both SYJ’s and HB’s approvals for something like this since both are together in ONE picture ad - not two separate pictures/ads put side-by-side. It’s like a joint CF!

I totally agree with you on all of this! SYJ has incredible range as an actress and that was evident in CLOY. Her performance was definitely above the other nominees, so I was disappointed about Baeksang (because while the winner was good, she did not show the extensive range of emotions and comedy that SYJ did) and I was only somewhat thankful for the SDA because it was so obvious she deserved it (even though I thought she deserved the overall Best Actress award). I too strongly believe that CLOY is not being treated fairly in the awards process because of the politics and controversy within South Korea regarding North Korea. The awards can’t ignore CLOY and its participants in light of the high ratings at home and popularity around the world, so they are getting a few, but unfortunately not to the extent they deserve.

I don’t remember seeing this particular bts clip before, but it’s very similar to the other “handsy” ones (SYJ eating fake snow and SYJ scolding HB for not looking at her as she runs to him). What other co-stars reach out to touch each other AFTER a “cut” or NG?

If you’re looking for comedy and cross-dressing (plus romance), there’s PERSONAL TASTE where SYJ stars with Lee Min Ho. I thought LMH’s acting was stiff, but their “game over” kiss was monumental (you can Google it). SYJ is very funny in this underrated drama, and the interactions between their best friends are hilarious. Yoo Eun Hye had a cameo and through that she became friends with SYJ. Even Kim Nam Gil had a cameo, but it’s so short you could miss it.

The "Forbes Korea Most Powerful Stars" is a list released by the Forbes magazine (Korea) which includes the 40 most powerful celebs in South Korea. Since 2010 the said magazine has been releasing this list annually. SYJ is #24 and HB is #29!
