We know JH's father was a loyal/righteous man, wonder what her mother was like for her to end up this way? Or is it her brother's fault for failing to raise her? Nature vs Nurture.

Well, according to the script/scene (that was cut), DH was able to transfer his remaining cultivation/fairy energy to save FJ in the starlit ward. I imagine he would just continue doing so.
or he will find a way to follow her into nothingness but that will be hundreds of thousands of years after we die. So we will not live to see the day. -

Ah, but the Chinese entertainment industry is notorious for typecasting. Had she been smart enough to grab a protagonist role of Cheng Yu, she would have taken herself out of the "other woman/antagonist" role. Rarely do we see typcasted villains succeed in main lead roles this far into their career. Plus, her camp/supporters aren't big enough to propel her to a main lead role at this point.
Look at ZH, she literally ended up in the same role as the one she played in AoL, but the actual actress is so adorable with her weibo back and forth with the other members. She owned up to the annoying antagonist role in those quips, and everyone loved it.
AL had to lay low bc of all the incited drama. She had a golden opportunity for good publicity to further her career, not to go down in infamy. Bad publicity will make casting directors think twice about giving her any role. Her professionalism is seriously lacking.

So... She would definitely not choose the role of Cheng Yu since it is not one of the bigger role in ELOD and only limited scene time. Miao Lou or JH would be a good role to capture the exposure as there are more scene time and has bigger role in the drama (although still a smaller role than FJ).
But... ML's ending would be similar to the novel and having to die in the end. Whereas JH ending can be change to become positive as compare to the negative of the novel. And that is what the production has done by making her changed and becoming a better person.
Anyway, I still think being ML would be better choice for AL. Given it enable the artists to show out more on their acting skills as compare to JH. But if AL is looking more on exposure and scene time, then JH would be what she choosen instead.
Very short-sighted of the actress and her team. Cheng Yu has potential of becoming her own lead character with Lian Song, ML was a better range of acting showcase. But like I said, Chinese entertainment industry puts more stock into looking pretty rather than smarts.

I know it was her dream to play FJ, wen she couldn't she just wanted to be a part of ELOD by playing another role.. any sane person would have picked the role of "Cheng yu" if they wanted to be loved by audience by playing a positive role.. plus Cheng yu is cute like FJ, but AL picked the role of Jiheng while wanting to look good so they had to change the characterisation of JH to an extent..Such a dumb woman!!
Maybe she, AL, has a really unhealthy obsession with DH because of her love of the novel? Cheng Yu would be any sane person's choice, but screen time wise, there are rarely any interactions with DH.
It seems spiteful, wanting/accepting the change to the narrative "JH is a legitimate contender for DH's love". We all know she loved FJ & DH when she owned the rights, to turn around and accept the rewritten character of JH (giving her the benefit of the doubt, wasn't her idea to rewrite the character), still seems like she wasn't very loyal to her love for the novel. She double downed when she defended the erroneous characterization of JH in the drama. She had such potential to rock the baddy role, like ML did hers. I mean, so many praises for ML even though she was mostly tied up in a tree.
AL, as an actress needs to up her game and her education of the characters she chooses to play, if she wants to make a long career in this industry. Unfortunately, Chinese actors/actresses, especially the new wave are not known for being the most educated. They need bare minimum testing grades to be accepted into the schools/programs.

If I remembered right, FJ wore the white hair pin to mourn for Ye Qingti. In the book, DH had changed the white flowers to pink (?) flowers. I thought the drama skipped this detail. But here is a video clip on weibo:

It highlights when the hairpin fell out, DH waved his arm to make it disappear. He probably hated the idea of FJ mourning for another male.
The problem is, this still doesn't explain how FJ could so easily forget about it, not look for it, or even find a replicate for it, not to mention the bracelet. She spent so much time mourning for YQT, it seemed heartless of the writers to just let it be forgotten in that manner.

There might be. My color palette has purple in honor of mumsy and grandmumsy. But besides the traditional red gown and the western white, I have no idea. Mumsy went to town and during this lockdown, she is getting more made.
I hope the restaurants are still open! I have never been great at meal planning.

I sincerely hope not. Judging from the official English translation of TMOPB, the novel was not as well detailed, and the translation was very lacking in terms of actual interpretation. The English translation right now for PB was done over a period of 1.5 years I believe and incredibly detailed, with footnotes that explains the antiquated proverbs so well.
Those without a general knowledge of the genre would still be able to make sense of the nuance.

Generally novel releases in parts is up to the author. Perhaps she was having trouble finishing the last half, or her publishing company saw it as an opportunity to make more in sales.

Definitely little kids who have never had responsibilities upon their shoulders for a single day in their lives making those comments!
I am so good at tuning those people out. I mostly pay attention to the comments during the comedy scenes. The fans are so creative.

I wanted to remind my creative writers on the forum that intellectual property is someone's hard work, sweat and tears. Plagiarism is stealing someone's work word for word and easily caught, there are content plagiarism checkers. Infringement of someone's intellectual property is stealing their ideas/concept. This is like writing a scene and a series of events but changing the names/locations/or even which character goes through it.
As I am reading fanfic, I see blatant infringement going on. These platforms may not enforce copyright/intellectual property infringement, but authors of original works may choose to do so. Everything is time stamped when you post chapters, so there is no use fighting who stole from whom.
As fanfic is an iffy arena, since it is all inspired by original works, please still be mindful of your fellow creative writers, always cite TQ for her original characters/names and any other creative writers you took inspiration from.
