Ep 33-34 what a emocional rollercoaster...I don’t have anymore tears to cry...

I didn’t think they would show WWX going to LZ bed in first place, so I don’t mind it, I loved both episodes.

Ep 33 especially was a tear jerker. Got the chance to see Ice Prince LWJ showing so much emotions.

Is it me, but do they look paler? It's a strange thing to notice but I can't help it. Probably to add to the fact that they are older etc I guess.

It took me two days to read through all the comments. I fell in love with the drama right away but confused as well on the first episode. Anyways, if I remember correctly, someone said LWJ knew that WWX lost his golden core? I’m reading the English translation novel upon hearing that it’s an adaptation. I like how in the drama, they reorganize all the events in a sequence instead of constant flashbacks like the novel. It was all over the place. Anyhow, can someone tell me (I don’t mind spoilers) who transferred his golden core power JC? In the drama, it was WC and I’m assuming it was her in the novel as well?

    Spoiler

It's actually WWX who transfered half his golden core. LWJ only knew about it much later when Wen Ning revealed it to him.

Exactly, same here. I put everything on hold, there’s no space for anything else in my head.

Me three, in reply to NatalieMedella and BreezeC.

My reaction is so strong, I have to make the effort to pull myself away to recover a little. Every time I see them on screen together I become this screaming girl. And I'm a grown woman :sweatingbullets:

But every part of the series is just as gripping and engaging, I'm re-reading again just to recall all the other plot lines and details.

I agree. I have seen a review that criticized him by saying he can be cold but not expressionless and cite Yehua from 3L3W and Shen Wei from Guardian as better examples. but I'm just like, LWJ is totally different from those 2 characters?? he IS expressionless and doesn't connect with anything unless he met WWX. as much as people harp on WYB's "dead fish look" in the first few eps, it actually helps to show LWJ's change from pre-WWX to post-WWX as he's starting to emote more later on (and actually even emoting more than novel LWJ is supposed too lol)

also imo a lot of the criticism was prejudice against the way he looks. like too young, too skinny, too short etc. there are so many fanart out there and also the donghua and he just doesn't look like that. but when I go back to the paragraphs that describes LWJ in the actual novel it's basically thin and lanky, with a cold beautiful face, and pale flawless skin...technically the only thing WYB doesn't match is the amber/golden eyes

Yes agree that WYB Is actually a close physical match to the description in the novel, aside from his light eyes.

Fanart tropes usually have LWJ in the more typical Seme look, with the height and size difference between him and WWX more pronounced. It's OK, since they existed before the casting of WYB.

As the episodes go further along, you can see WYB having more opportunities to broaden his range. I find his glances very eloquent, that's incredibly difficult to pull off since as an actor he's only confined to limited use of broad and expressive facial expression and body language, to remain in character.

The MV of Won't Forget 不忘 is a great compilation of all the key LWJ scenes and it comes across strong.

Thing is, the popularity for the untamed sky rocketed really fast. Addicted was very obvious in its romance and kissing. Since the untamed has none of this I don’t think the government will ban it.

the entire cast worked really hard for it and they must have been extra careful when shooting the show so that it wouldn’t get flagged

You're right guys! Addicted was way more obvious, I was thinking more in terms of the impact it also had on the lead actors, though I think it's all quieten down now. Everyone's moved on.

I'm just super anxious because I actually saw the message which was on twitter. I will try to find it if anyone wants to see it. Its a simple card with text.

One point it made was avoid the hype that the show managed to bypass censorship laws by being a bromance.  And NEVERending is right that the series' popularity is sky rocketing, because of the strong romantic tension and chemistry that XZ and WYB bring to their characters.

But guys, I now sound like a doom - monger which is so not my original intention. My apologies. I'll go back to my ep 30 now. Had to take a break because its getting nearer to the super - angst. :bawling:

Someone just mentioned that China government can interrupt the show and my heart dropped! I hope and pray it airs successfully throughout.

Yes they can. So I guess fans have to be low key about it. I think it will be risky once there's too much buzz about it being a romance between the main characters despite it being a bromance.

Anyone here familiar with the situation with Addicted?

alright everyone read the lyrics then watch this official MV for LWJ's character song. it's is so beautiful, I literally burst out crying at the 'you-know-what' scene...

people were wrong to criticize you, Wang Yibo. I hope they slap themselves. you're the LWJ in my heart

I've melted. I'm bias towards Wang Yibo, he's perfect for LWJ. Thank you for the link!

Feels like the drama puts in much more effort to remind people of their relationship in super subtle ways. It's so much more polished. The flashbacks in EP 1. The way WWX always glances at LWJ's direction. The longing/resigned/excited looks. Love how 'big brother' has this knowing look in his eyes whenever LWJ and WWX look at each other haha.

The drama is great. Honestly. I initially thought it would just try to piggyback off the existing fans of MDZS and not try hard but everything from the acting to the cast to the attention to detail blew my mind away.

While WYB's acting is great, I think XZ's acting is what really brought WWX and all his feelings for LWJ to life.

I agree with you about the way their relationship is conveyed in the drama in very subtle ways. It's all about the looks and glances. These gestures are extremely romantic, passionate even, in some places. In Ep1, I could not breathe when LWJ grabbed on to WWX's hands when he was using the flute on Wen Ning.

On the topic of fans, I've been on a "crusade" in my other comm, to encourage people to watch. So far, the feedback I have been observing and receiving is that the world building is too different, too many characters to keep track off, and the old favourite, ep 1 is confusing because of the return to Mo Xuan Yu's body. I'm thinking of creating a wiki for the series. But its a HUGE task. Unless there's one already? I know its existing for the other formats like the novel and donghua.

God ep32 got me in Turmoil!!!!!!  Damn those people!  :rage::bawling: It's a rollercoaster ride.  I just have to cheer myself and think about all the drunk scene of Lan Zhan and Weiying to keep my nerves calm.  *it's okay it's okay"  that must be one tiring scene to act out both Physically and Mentally.

Thank Goodness we get to see the boys on Day Day up show or else the long wait will kill me alive.  Man I thought 10 miles of peach blossom was an emotional rollercoaster!  Then again Guardian is not that far behind either!  I'll go listen to their flute and zither duet to calm myself.

    :cold_sweat:

I go and read chapter 95 too when it gets too much. Really wonder how that is going to be done by the director? :tounge_wink: My guess is

    ~SPOILERS JUST IN CASE?~

@VeryBerry - Yeah!!!!! I love love love the nuances and if you understand Mando it's so layered and subtle. Sadly no amount of English sub can do the dialogue justice haha

 and don't you love LWJ's speech mannerisms; he speaks very little and it's so precise but yet, it's so full of meaning. I actually find that so attractive for his character. A man of few words.

And then you watch WYB especially when he's dancing and the difference between him and LWJ is quite mind blowing. I was pulled into the first ep, because of XZ and his smiles, but WYB has become my favourite. I read the earlier posts about their BTS, and all I can think of is puppies playing haha.

Arghhhh just finish watching ep 32  it’s so suspense but the end is hanging. Its so sad but yet beautifull.  How I am suppose to wait untill next Monday :bawling:

I'm actually unable to move past ep 28, its like figuratively my feet won't move another step forward. I guess it's all the angst ahead. I cannot.

Will probably go through ep 29 to 32 on Saturday and then watch 2moons2 to cheer me up.

  12. I'm so glad to find this thread!

Hi I'm new to this forum but not new to drama series like this :)

I understand Chinese which is why I adore the show so much, there's so much nuances and hidden meaning in the language that hints of their relationship while skimming under the censorship radar.

WYB 's acting improved over the episodes. LWJ's glances are so eloquent now haha.

Also eagerly awaiting the switch back to the present.

On a side note. My heart is still recovering from their photo spread on Harpers Bazaar.
