Hi! I'm a long time lurker here largely bc I never know quite what to say. This time I think I can clear up a little bit of confusion, so I decided to post
So for the half a day thing, that's a Chinese idiom, so while the words literally translate to "half a day" it idiomatically means "quite a while" so when something like that shows up, just think of it as "Fengjiu poured tea for longer than you are supposed to pour tea, or indeed quite a while."
I think the translators tend to leave it in bc they are more used to Chinese most of the time, and don't know that this idiom seems very strange for most English speakers.

In the Chinese it mentions that Lian Song and Chen Yu were former lovers. So like they dated and broke up basically.

I think official chinese news still says that they'll wrap filming mid October and broadcast Q4 2019. But that's just what I've seen.

Did you guys find it weird that Bai Qian made love to Ye Hua even though they were only engaged and not married and the fact that she had not regained her memories of him? They make such a big deal when it comes to propriety and yet they just slept with each other
I think that largely happened because one, Bai Qian doesn't care much about social norms, and her parents dote on her so they wouldn't punish or think less of her for it, and two because Ye Hua is Crown Prince and three hundred years after he lost Susu he's learned to be a bit more shameless/doesn't care about other people's opinions/independent.
I think it's largely the other characters in the show who get upset about propriety (AKA stupid Heaven people) the Fox clan doesn't seem to care too much about rules, and from what I can recall that's where Bai Qian and Ye Hua spent their time together anyway.

So, because I'm obsessed and waiting for next December is just so hard, I'm writing a fanfiction about Dijun and Fengjiu (I'm only about a thousand words in at the moment) starting from where the drama left off. I know that the Pillow Book drama probably won't line up with TMoPB since it'll be adapting the Pillow Book, which is why I want to write about the drama after story. Drama Dijun and Fengjiu need a happy ending, or at least an ending....and that's when you know you're an obsessed fan. You can't find fanfiction to resolve your pain so you decide to write it yourself...The withdrawal is real, guys. Half a year isn't enough to make me stop rewatching this drama.
The fanfiction probably won't have much to do with the Pillow Book plotline, because I've only read small parts of it since I'm bad at reading Chinese, but I've gotten my hands on the hamster translation so I'll probably be reading that soon.
Just as a question though, would anyone be interested in reading it? And if so, where would I put it?

HI!! (I've been lurking here for a while now, but I never have too too much to say with all the speculation.
)
I just have a little bit of chinese knowledge, so I noticed when a question came up regarding the phrase and thought "OH! A THING I CAN SAY!"
For the death by Tofu idiom...it's not a very common one, which is why the translator must have left it in, but what it basically boils down to, as far as I can understand it, is that a piece of tofu is really really soft, so basically, you must have already suffered such trauma beforehand that ramming your head into a piece of tofu would then kill you.
