Fuheng is the real tragedy here. While I pity him that he could not marry the woman he loves, I feel most sorry that he is married to that disaster of a woman, Er Qing who made his life miserable. He could have at least a better and decent wife who could provide him a comfortable home than that evil Er Qing.
Another fact that lingers around is, if only Yingluo didn't meet Ming Yue again till she decided to return to the Forbidden City by becoming Qianlong's concubine, perhaps she could ended up marrying Fuheng in the end, in time for his return from his war's victory and made that ultimate request to the Emperor to finally allow their marriage. Qianlong perhaps after 3 years, could have forgotten about Yingluo already and consented their marriage?
I don't think Yingluo is willing to be Fu Heng's wife because of her personality. She already want to give up on Hu Feng the moment he decide to marry Qing Er. Ying Luo is too rock headed to open about her feelings to Fu Heng again which is really sad. Fu Heng on the other hand is just a victim. Qing Er turns evil but he always thought of her as a nice, kind woman that's why he listen to her and eager to save Ying Luo. I can't really blame him. No one can be calm when the one they love is in danger of dying.
What makes me kinda mad is that Ying Luo keeps giving Fu Heng the cold shoulder and never look back at him. Fu Heng's feelings are more deep and sincere. Ying Luo knows that Fu Heng married to Qing Er in order to save her yet still blame him for it. :((

Yes u can say Fuheng sacrifice a lot. But as even his sister the Empress had said (even she didnt approve of his decision)...loving someone doesn't always just focus on doing what is the best for her...but also what she wants and repecting what she believe in. I mean it should be a balance. Perhaps Fuheng and Yingluo...there is a slight clash of ideals here. Not saying who is right or wrong.
Oh, yeah. I didn't approve of his decision either. Like you said love is not something for only you to decide what's best for her or you. It's about commitment between two people. I kind of understand why, but yeah either way. If he choose a good path for her, they both suffer. If he choose to just let it slide and do nothing then he will regret.

Fuheng died at last ep 70 during a battle in the south, he got poisoned by swamp gas (i assume that is what it is) while getting a certain antidote pill for Yingluo who got poisoned by Yuan Chun Wang. And Fuheng didnt rest while still directing the battle. So after his death, Hai Lan Cha brought back the pill and also conveyed last message asking if Yingluo is willing to protect him in next life.
Yingluo gave up hope on him earlier in ep 35 or 36. Bcos he chose to marry Er Qing in order to save her. Yingluo found out the killer of her sister...was former emperor's consort whose son had raped her sister. Yingluo set up a trap to electrocute her. But she was to be punished for that. And the emperor was already unhappy to find out Fuheng loved this lowly maid. So Fuheng had to please the emperor. But to Yingluo though she understood the reason but being headstrong type...she felt he had given up too easily.
Then a few episodes later....she started to gain favour of the Emperor bcos the Empress (who treated her very well) was hurt by a few people and died...she had to seek justice...and for that she need backing.
As for who she love more...i prefer i watch and decide for yourself. To me it isn't so clear-cut....perhaps it changes at different periods.
OMG, Thank you for answering my questions. Damn, so after joining the harem, she shows signs of liking the Emperor? I think her love for Fu Heng is more sincere. I really feel bad for Fu Heng D: Did everything for her but didn't get anything good in return. I really like Fu Heng's character. The Emperor is loyal to his country and know how to treat right or wrong, but he abused his power to get what he want :'/

I heard that this drama is really good and I’ve like the main actor Ying Luo and Fu Heng since Untouchable Lovers.
I’m currently on episode 20 but I cant wait anymore so can I have a few spoilers...
- At what episode does Fu Heng die?
- Why did Ying Luo start to act cold towards Fu Heng?
- Why did she want to join the harem?
- So does Ying Luo love Fu Heng or the Emperor?
- At what episode does Fu Heng said that he hope that Ying Luo will protect him in her next life?

Citizens are cyber-bullying Kathy Chow because of her villain role in Ashes of Love. People are really too much sometimes. Damn, It's just acting. Every drama has to have villains to be able to have conflicts and make it more exciting for the viewers. Overall, it's just a drama. They can trash talk the Empress all they want in the drama but irl, she's not the Empress but a human being too. She has feelings too...They make her close down her weibo. :'/

Ever since Ashes of Love ended, I’ve just been rewatching all of their BTS, MVs and the cute scenes in the drama again. I have to say that this drama is truly a masterpiece. Sometimes when a drama is good, there would be something missing such as main actors don’t have enough chemistry or the sound tracks don’t fit the drama, but everything in this drama fits so well together that it truly impress me.
I rarely fall in love with any lead girl when I watch them for the first time and from the first episode. Yang Zi is the reason why I’m so in love with this drama. She portrayed the innocent Jin Mi so well and how she slowly mature and understand what love is. IDK I REALLY FELL IN LOVE WITH HER.I don’t think anyone could portray this character as good as her. Everyone in the drama portrayed their characters brilliant and I really enjoy it but Yang Zi just really stood out in my eyes.
Deng Lun and Yang Zi relationships are just too cute to handle. I want them to date in real life already even thought in literally every interview they always said that they are “friends”.
p.s : I stalk their weibo too and was really happy that they comments on each other posts haha.

I literally was crying when Xu Feng call Run Yu “brother” again in the end. One word but holds a lot of meaning. To me it’s like one of the sweetest moments of them. Finally get to see Run Yu became a little Fish Fairy again.
The ending was satisfying because it’s a happy ending but there are some parts that’s missing. If they could have show a proper wedding and an ending kiss OMG THAT WOULD BE HELLA CUTE. They never show my MOON DEITY or even Yan You in the last 2 episodes like BRUH .-.
If Run You could finally know that the little Deer and the Guard were with him since the beginning and he’s not technically alone. If he could accept her feelings and start his life over again that would make me really happy even though I don’t really like the Guard, but her loyalty deserves it.
I really love this drama, even though it ends but I still can’t get over it

Yeah, It's Truly happiness if they live as immortals and have immortal babies. All of their sufferings would have been worth it. Since they only been together for a day before getting separated from conflicts and misunderstanding by both sides.

I binged watch this drama in like 4 days and I've caught up to the current episode. To say the drama was pretty sad, I cry like a river when Phoenix die ep 45 to the current episode T_T . The actors are well chosen to portray the characters in the drama. I am really satisfied with it. I would rank this C-drama to be #1 to all of the C-drama that I've been watching. I'M LIKE ADDICTED TO IT. I can't wait for the wedding tomorrow. I want to give props to the MOON DEITY tho. I REALLY LIKE HIS CHARACTER AND HIMSELF AS WELL. HE'S SO CUTE AND LOYAL. His acting is so good too. Being Loyal to his Baby Phoenix, Find ways to connect JM with his baby Phoenix and also try help JM resolves all of their misunderstandings. I can't even describe how much I love this drama >...<

I might be biased against Fu Heng because he really DESERVES better. Throughout all of the episodes that I've watch so far, (47 ish) I've noticed that the one who understand Ying Luo the most is the Queen Fucha and Fu Heng. They can figure out her motive without her trying to explain anything. I think that part of them is really sweet. Even if Ying Luo is trying to push Fu Heng away, he knows that she has her own struggle and reason to do that. UGH Fu Heng just won my heart T_T, that feeling when you know you getting used but still loves her BRUH. Boiii needa wake tf up.
I think the main reason why everyone enjoy this drama because of a strong lead that take revenge on who treat her badly and repay those that are kind to her. She's not some typical weak female lead that gets bully over and over again. Ying Luo also doesn't have a soft spot for love. She can love someone deeply but revenge is more important to her than anything else apparently, which make it unique. Typical lead actors in dramas would give up their position, wealth, revenge etc, for the one they love BUT AINT YING LUO.
