I noticed that Reba and YangZi's fandoms are waving war over The Golden Eagle Awards that nominated both of them.....:sweatingbullets: Funny thing is DengLun get dragged into the "dispute" as well......I was like :o.....These Chinese fandoms are ridiculous and laughable.....

He worked with both of them and was the male lead

He is very comfortable with YangZi and vice versa....They worked together minimal in 3 dramas so they know each other very well. Beside YangZi is in a long term relationship with someone I forget his name....

I noticed DengLun is very comfortable with BQ too but so stiff with Reba in SD’s PressCon even though in bts they were playing around. Maybe they wanted to avoid being linked together...He is so sweet with every female big small old young.... He will fix their hair, treated them gently, showered them with attention, spoke gently. He treated his child in Dad, where are we going? like a lady....

Btw, this thread is so quiet.....:sweatingbullets:

Ahh I didn't see his other bts but I saw him fixing YZ hair all the time. Idk to me when he looks at her there's that gaze of admiration. It could also be that they're comfortable with each other

Giving the drama 8 out of 10.

It was a good adaptation but certainly could have been better. The biggest issue being, the storytelling and editing. The way was paved. The novel was already written. Why did they get so lost? I certainly didn't mind the additional side stories when it added to the main storyline or OTP. But what infuriates me still is they removed essential OTP interactions and aired the rubbish fillers instead. That ending was disappointing. Had they even just removed one Mu Ci related scene, we would have had at least 10 minutes more of OTP time.

Is Jin Mi wearing the Phoenix feather? And is she mortal or immortal?

And before I forget, thanks everyone for the lively discussion, translations, and spoilers the last few weeks. You certainly helped ease the frustration.

I'm confused about this too. I can't tell if JM is mortal or immortal... they also don't say that she got to keep her memories. We assume she does but who would let a stranger hold her like that or kidnap her on her wedding dressed the way XF was hehe

  4. I'm 4 episodes behind guys due to work but Ive been spoiling myself with weibo and this forum. Thank you guys for the translations and spoilers!! I liked how respectful everyone was to each other and for sharing your insights. I missed a lot of things Bc my Chinese is limited, the language here is really flowery

The only thing that kept me onto this drama was the fact that there will be a happy ending and the acting; especially YZ's acting. She felt very genuine, like she was JM (now I'm not a die hard book fan,  but for the drama she felt right. Her dubbing was really good too, better than the male leads. I could hear the emotions in her voice). I really wish there was more OTP scenes and they developed XF character more. The ending wasn't like rushed rushed but felt like BAM that's it. The beginning only help set up the OTP storyline but it didn't give my too much insight for his character development. He just cool and really in-love. I did enjoy DL acting when he being cold to JM but actually still in love. It was all in the eyes. But for some reason, when JM was revived his acting seemed kind of off.. I wonder if this had to do with when they filmed the scene (like how comfortable he has gotten with YZ, I know they were a couple in a drama years ago)

RY acting was good too, but at the same time I felt like it was due to how well-written his character is... he had a lot of good lines. His scenes with YZ were the best but alone... it was a hit or miss

Okay, I think I'll stop ranting now

    Thank you all! :)

  5. Okay, I'm not really okay with the repeat of this event..

Like I get it. SH was evil and she let her obsession for XF caused her to make bad choices but this is NOT the way it should end for her. In the novel,

    Spoiler

she gets imprisoned. @Mau_CherryThank you! :)

BUT I'm sure the actual writer would have never incorporated this scene. It doesn't seem like her writing style for her characters to end up this way, even if they are a minor character.

But look at his face...like he is plotting something.  That's not happiness or heart filled with love look. XF is too much right now.  My little JM <3

I saw a gif and that was possibly from JM dream, it was yellow.

Also, I am also upset with XF and how he can't see what's going on. But I remember his character is suppose to be very prideful (i think the book says this too, confirm?), which may be why he refuses to accept the what JM said. He doesn't act that way (or maybe I haven't seen it much in action) but many of the minor characters like the demon princess and his uncle said the removal of his celestial class is almost like killing him. I feel like the drama didn't do a great job evolving XF character too much. It feels rather rushed right now, there's 4 episodes left and war hasn't even happened yet.

    Spoiler

I think in the preview, the demon princess says to XF "I noticed you don't seem like yourself (not exactly sure what word she said based off memory), sorry to say some words of offense, but are you afraid of facing or meeting JM if she is actually the one who saved you" she says this after XF says JM is using my uncle to separate me and SH

Speaking of JM. She did cause the death of XF loved ones Bc she didnt trust him. That's what I was angry about. How can you not trust the person who has been your friend for years, was it the pill? Though it pains me to see XF treat her that way but it pains me more to see him torment her while tormenting himself Bc he clearly still loves her

You're right, the Emperor used all his lingli to save some part of Xu Feng's soul into the hairpin.

      Hide contents

As for the part where he uses it to attack Jin Mi, the hairpin actually betrays him by protecting Jin Mi from his own attack. He even says to the hairpin "Even you're betraying me" because it protected Jin Mi, he later proceeds to destroy the hairpin, as seen in the preview.

I thought XF threw his hairpin at on purpose to protect her from his own attack, since it seems like he still loves her

    Spoiler

like when he sent a flick of fire to the demon servant girl's hand so she can release the bunny (JM)

    But yes he did say

    Spoiler

"even you're betraying me" and tried to destroy it.

So excited for the incoming episodes! Did anyone notice no matter how upset and mad Night was towards JM he would never show it. This time he actually yelled at her and showed how upset he was with her! And thus slowly his true self is being revealed. Waiting for the confrontation scene where she finds out that night was scheming the whole time.

According to Instagram spoilers, someone commented the petal she broke off herself when she gave to XF was wrapped with his core spirit. So maybe when JM killed him, it didn't kill him completely? ._. Maybe aside from the former Emperor trapping XF's spirit into the phoenix stick, part of JM's real self may have softened the blow of the dagger? What do you all think?

I'm also loving that BAN-KAI meme. xD This drama did go Bleach for once haha. Praying everything is back on track. I love the irony how someone pointed out someone with a warm heart rules the demon world and someone with a cold heart rules the heavens.

Urgh, unfortunately I cannot even view the webio links to see all the spoilers everyone is seeing.

Try your phone! Or if you're persistent, there's is weibo international now lol

I was kind of confused about the petal thing

    Spoiler

In one of the clips, when JM crushed the petal after XF returned it to her. We see XF suddenly coughing up blood shortly after walking away from the scene. So is the petal really tied to XF? Or was it just heartache?

I really need subs for this drama, anyone know what episode they're up to for subs?

Aww your links didn't link directly to the video. Weibo is tricky when you try to link the video, I open it up on a separate tab and then copy the link from their.

Thank you for trying to share spoilers though!

Mini spoiler about SH's bday and XF present for her. I really wish I had IQiyi access for the spoilers! I saw so many pics but I want to see them move

We are at the last 10 episodes and all I can think about is how much is left to be told. Hope they don't rush or glaze over anything

Uh I watched today's episodes and I think that was what @angel318 was talking about!! I believe Jinmi will still give up her essence for the pill.

      Hide contents

In todays' episodes Runyu used up half his essence to save Jinmi because she got bit by the snake (not Pu Chi, but he wishes!! :D) plus that other stuff she had to do!!

I also saw the next episodes preview. Jinmi revived Phoenix. One of her tear fell on his cheek. She called him Feng Huang. He heard someone calling him. As he was about to open his eyes Sui He came so Jinmi transformed and hid herself. Phoenix turned into a Phoenix. Up in Heaven Runyu felt the Phoenix power coming back. Phoenix turned back into a human, whispered Jinmi's name but then sees Sui He. She said she saved him. Phoenix touches his cheek and noticed the tear.... I think he knows it's not Sui He that saved him.

And then in a black cloak he went to Heaven to his place and stared at the dead tree...

Thanks for helping clarify! Sorry I haven't been watching the episodes Bc I've been so busy so I missed some of the plot ><

  11. Spoiler alert

    Spoiler

I think they changed the pill story :sweatingbullets: it seems to be that instead of JM giving up her essence RY does it for her for the sake of protecting her ...

Sorry guys, I was such in a rush this morning to work I didn't have time to link the video. But another spoiler

    Spoiler

JM loses her sight of color bc there's a missing ingredient for the pill. It's needs some kind of light which is owned by the previous emperor's older brother (who everyone thought died in war, who happens to be in love with XF mom... so complicated). Anywho, Bc the queen asked for the most colorful thing (but him -the older brother- is color-blind), thus he was never able to get that gift for her and he asks for JM's ability to see color in exchange for the item. I'm not sure which comes first, the essence or the lost of color Bc I haven't caught up due to work

I'm finally all caught up. Excited for 49/50! I need that XF resurrection and some character development and comeback for him. Aside from the demon princess love story and Night development scenes that people complained about, I still think this drama is good on its own if I had not read the novel. I was actually ok with the Night development scenes. When I saw the wedding how Night turned against everyone -- it made me go "Oh s***!" Night is so evil :O It was still so sad to see JM understand her feelings and I teared! Though the extra Night scenes meant to flesh out his character, it now makes him look SO bad especially when now JM is seeing through his schemes.

Now that we have that annoying demon princess side love story out of the way, I feel that mask guy somehow helps demon princess tie on to the plot where we might see our XF back.

T_T AND OMG I felt so so sad that Liao Yuan Jun died. I like him and thought he was cute!

Can't get enough of him haha...
    https://www.bilibili.com/video/av29207269/

I ship Moon god and fate fairy. They are so cute. The fate fairy is going through a "moral trial" as punishment? Can someone explain that?

I dont think fate fairy went as a punishment, from what i remember hearing from the moon good. She went to the mortal realm to get away from all that;s going on in the heaven realm

Btw Luo Yunxi is actually older than Deng Lun. The only other thing I remember watching him was him playing the younger version of Wallace Chung in My Sunshine

When the events unfolded in the wedding hall, Jin Mi was pretty much a bystander, watching expressionless. But when XF started to wield the Liu Li Jing Huo (glass fire) in his hand, she was jolted because she recalled how her Mother Flower God, her Father Water God, and Aunt Ling Xiu Wind God were killed by it. Already her 3 most closest relatives were killed by the fire, how could she let her future Husband be also decimated by it? That’s when she took out the water dagger to stab XF, in a desperate attempt to save her only remaining family member. I would think it’s a reflex action at that point in time.

Anyway, as someone who has not read the book, I find the drama riveting enough. I understand  that the book was written from the first person perspective, so there could have been many things happening around Jin Mi which she was not aware of. The drama is just filling in the gaps which makes the story easier to understand for those of us who have not read the book.

Actually I didn't feel like JM did out of reflex to save her last family member but from the trauma of knowing that fire killed her family (I don't think she feels that way for RY). She looked so confused, dazed, almost like she had lost control of herself and all she felt or had in that moment was to stop this fire Bc it was the fire that killed her most loved (they were also crowding around asking her to save them, forcing her to make a decision or take revenge)

Yep people complaining are book fans and they have plenty of reason. Like each passing day our reasons for complaining just keep piling on.

I honestly feel like the production was trying to drag DL to take some heat off themselves. They need to own their mistakes.

Exhibit A of why book fans get angry. It seems like they changed XF's resurrection. Of course they had to involve RY bc he has to be everywhere.

Seriously? That was how JM redeemed herself. Not only did they ruin XF they also ruined RY. He was a villain I found really evil but I liked hating him. Now every time I see him my eye twitches.

Sui He is the only one that cares about XF and honestly she deserves better. People are going to forgive all the people RY killed and how many people he made suffer to get what he wanted and he is getting off scotch free while SH will have to pay.

I am so mad at all these changes :triumph:

I saw this too and I'm like isn't JM suppose to get the pill to save him!! But it seems here even though the dragon daddy might have saved XF while killing himself, RY has to go take that extra step to send XF to the demon realm. Then JM saves him with the pill?

    Spoiler

I saw a clip where JM goes to the river of forgotten, and sees hooded XF shadow. He turns away and won't look at her
