    More and more, South Korean mega-Pop icon Jung JiHoon (Rain, 비) is becoming a true study subject in connection with schools and universities across the world.

    First, there was author Sun Jung’s study, Korean Masculinities and Transcultural Consumptions: Yonsama, Rain, Oldboy, KPop Idols, published this past December by Hong Kong University Press and selected as one of the main textbooks for media classes at Goldsmiths, University of London in England and the University of Melbourne in Australia.

    And now, the Korean American Bar Association of Southern California, the UCLA School of Law, and select UCLA student groups are getting in on the action by using Rain, his movie Ninja Assassin, and other Korean fare to discuss the challenges of exchanging popular culture between the U.S. and Asia.

    On April 5, 2011 at 7 PM in Los Angeles (sign-in and a light reception will begin at 6:30), this fun panel at the UCLA School of Law, which is for anyone interested in learning what it takes to move movies, music and television across the Pacific, will be presented by Michael Chang of major Hollywood film studio Warner Bros. (distributor of Ninja Assassin), and attorney Ekwan E. Rhow of specialty litigation firm Bird, Marella, Boxer, Wolpert, Nessim, Drooks & Lincenberg (Rain’s counsel here in the United States), as well as Yaphett Powell of FOX Broadcasting and former MBC America counsel Robert J. Kang.

    The session is free; entertainment professionals and interested laypersons are invited, and it is also accredited for students.

    This is wonderful news. Ninja Assassin, a true product of cross-cultural effort, is indeed a perfect example when it comes to this type of discussion. As a matter of fact, due to his own determination to make himself available to many people across the world during the span of his career, one might say that Rain is a product of cross-cultural effort.

    [Feb-10-2011] Rain attended SIHH (an internationally prestigious watch fair) in Geneva, Switzerland last January as a representative of Asia's Cartier.

    World star Rain (his real name, Jung Ji Hoon) took part in SIHH (Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie) in Geneva, Switzerland last January as a representative of Asia's Cartier, a prestigious watch brand.

    Rain who attended the fair that is the largest of its kind at this time of year in which many of the top international watch firms participate, showed off himself as a world star, also meeting 'Bernard Fornas', the head of Cartier company.

    Rain maintained the profile of the global star, looking relaxed and speaking English fluently even in Geneva, which enchanted reporters from all over the world and organizers who visited it.

    Singer and actor Rain said that he would serve in the military as an active-duty soldier in the second half of next year.

    Rain appeared on 'Guerrilla Date', one of the sections in KBS 2TV's entertainment program 'Yon Ye Ga Joong Gue' aired on the afternoon of the 25th.

    During 'Guerrilla Date' near Hongick University on this day, Rain was filled with emotions as he thought about the past, saying, "It is an amazing place where I spent most of the time dancing, flailing around on the floor in my boyhood."

    Rain fully extended service to his fans, giving big hugs to the fans who looked frozen stiff because of cold whether, or giving them his concert tickets as Christmas presents or dancing to Rainism music.

    Rain announces new album + world tour for 2011!

    On this week’s episode of KBS2’s ‘Entertainment Relay’, Rain was featured on the ‘Guerilla Date‘ corner and he expressed his desire to serve actively in the military.

    “I will be enlisting in the latter half of next year,” announced the singer. With half a year left before he leaves for the army, many are wondering how Rain plans to spend his time.

    To start off, Rain is scheduled to release a brand new solo album. “We will release an album and have plans for a world tour,” said his agency. Since 2010 marked a year of films and dramas for the star, Rain wants to focus on his music career for 2011.

    Regarding his enlistment, Rain expressed, “I think of it as a vacation. I’m not worried about enlisting. In fact, I think it will make me a better person.”

    Meanwhile, on the same show, Rain surprised viewers by mentioning that his current body condition is that of a 40-year-old’s.

    “I recently had a health screening, and the results showed that my body age was 40 years old. I’ve been exercising well, but apparently my excessive diet and the overworking of my body has caused it to be worn down,” said the singer.

    He continued, “I need to find my six pack again, but I still need two more. I think it will come back by the time I have my concert.”

    [Dec-22-2010] Rain's fleeting presence causes the Hongick Univiersity area to be set on fire.

    Thousands of people flocked to Rain's fleeting guerrilla date in which guessing his popularity was still smoking,

    Rain participated in prerecording "Guerrilla Date", one of the sections in KBS 2TV entertainment news 'Yun Ye Ga Joong Gye', near Hongick Univiersity, from 6pm, last 21st.
