It seems Song Joong Ki's injury is more serious then we thought.
According to Blossom Entertainment on November 30th, Song Joong Ki is said to have 8 weeks of treatment to fully recover from his recent injury. However, the agency that it depends on the individual that the treatment period could be different. Song Joong Ki’s injury will not affect ‘Descendants of the Sun’ premiere date

Song Joong KiKBS TV has announced that drama ‘Descendants of the Sun’ will premiere as scheduled next year, despite lead actor Song Joong Ki sustaining a serious injury during filming recently.
Song Joong Ki sustained injuries while filming for ‘Descendants of the Sun’ on November 23rd. Following a thorough examination, it was determined that Song Joong Ki had suffered damage to a ligament in his right knee as well as his arm area.
Despite Song Joong Ki’s serious injury, filming for ‘Descandants of the Sun’ will proceed as normal, while there are no changes to the premiere scheduled for next February.
Song’s agency stated that the actor will seek to accelerate his recovery and do everything he can, so that he can return to filming at the earliest possible time.
‘Descendants of the Sun’ tells the story of young soldiers and doctors in a foreign land, who pursue love and dreams in extreme situations, and discover the true meaning of life in the process. Song Joong Ki will play elite special forces captain Yoo Si Jin. The drama will premiere sometime in February 2016, following ‘The Merchant: Gaekju 2015.’
