  1. Not sure if this has been shared before. This one is from Dailymail.co.uk and while the article mainly focused on Milla, it's quite nice to see that most of the pictures here have our LJG and portrait his warm interaction with Milla very well.

Milla Jovovich dons striped blouse with plunging neckline while promoting final Resident Evil film (don't focus on the title :sweatingbullets:)

    LJG's related part:

--- She was joined at a press conference for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter by South Korean actor Lee Joon Gi and her 51-year-old director-husband Paul W.S. Anderson. ---

--- Milla and her co-star made heart shapes and goofed around with each other on the carpet ahead of their press conference in Seoul. ---

    It's all free standing.

@tinniet I think it's best to buy the superfan zone, that's the nearest to the stage.general admission may be more comfortable because there is more space to move around but it will be further unless you go early n camp near the superfan area.

    ------

The FAQ has stated no overnight queuing is allowed. It will be free for all on e gates open at 3pm

    ------

I think any pink lightstick is fine.

Yes I think most of the fans take the Superfan zone, me included. So the best we can do will be standing in one group then, fellow Soompiers? And should we bring a banner or something to represent Soompi? Keke~

Hmm where should I buy pink lightstick

Hi folks, please buy your tix asap. I bought mine already.

Also for those going, do bring along a pink lightstick. His concert lightstick is pink, so it will be nice to all use pink then sing and dance together when he perform :)

Those going alone can pm me, am trying to gather pple to seat together .

Hello, may I know which seating zone that you bought? Is it VIP one? Cause the Superfan zone is free standing. And about the lightstick, will any lightstick do as long as it's pink?

@Jg_fiery yes exactly, worse is you may need to stand longer than 6 hours since it's free standing. The gate for the standing zone will open at 3pm and I bet fans will alrd queue in front of the gate since hours before in order to get in first and get the nearest position to the stage (on SJ's concert I went before, even the fans camped there since the night before lol). So unless you are okay with looking at the stage from afar, you have to queue before the gate open. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes and have a good meal and stamina before coming.

  4. @kathylim82 welcome to the club!! Lets meet up and chant our loudest for JG!! You meant Superfan? From the FAQ on the site, the difference between VIP and Superfan:

    1) VIP includes free flow wine, beer, and water as well as a separate entrance into music festival ground.

    2) VIP will be housed in VIP hospitality zone, located BEHIND the Superfan and General Admission.

    3) Superfan zone is located NEAREST to the stage.

My suggestion is go to the Superfan zone for the highest chance of close up look or even handshake. But get ready to be squeezed out, moreover if the fans are very energetic and hysterical :D (there were always people fainting from being squeezed on the standing zone when I attended SJ's concert, I wish JG fans will be less "violent" lol) plus we will have to stand for at least 6 hours, so consider your stamina too.

@junejungki purchasing the tix is very easy as long as you have international credit or debit card. Just go to ApacTix web and search for the event.

Where do you live? I'm also two hours away via plane lol. It's quite easy to buy the tickets.

I'm currently living in Jakarta, Indonesia but on March most likely I'll be living in Bali :) where do you live? Maybe we can go together  online booking requires foreign credit or debit card and unfortunately I don't have any. Have you bought yours?

Edit: @tinniet Thanks for sharing your story! You wrote it so beautifully. I completely agree with everything, especially with how you said LJG was destined to play WS and WS was destined to be played by LJG. And yes, his voice! How could I forget to mention it? It's so special and always makes everything he says sound so meaningful. Once you have time to watch his other works, I'd recommend to start with his older ones and then watch them in a chronological order and see how the raw diamond gets closer and closer to perfection with each work, keke. Maybe you can start with Time Between Dog and Wolf. He doesn't have the My Girl look there anymore :) And by the way, I love your profile picture. I guess we share the love for the same scene in MLSHR.

Lol I just realize we have the same scene as our profile picture (though yours is more adorable ) Thank you for the suggestions, I will watch them in chronological order as you said. Btw I'm curious about WS position in your little family of LJG's character in your previous post lol

  8. Thank you @kdramawriter for your love call  here's the parallelism in picture for you (not sure if it's representative enough )

    h0tgsgv.jpg

Btw I've found more parallelisms (if anyone's still interested for more lol) And if you guys find more parallelism I haven't put in picture here and in my previous parallelism post, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE just tag me like how @kdramawriter did. I will be very, very grateful if anyone willing to feed me with more parallelism, and please tag me because I may not be able to lurk here as frequent as before  :tears:

    2) She said she wouldn't change, so why is she afraid of me? (Eps 4 & 9)

    3) The shield (Eps 6 & 11)

This scene of Wook shielding HS from whatever it was (sunlight? lol) actually didn't show in the drama, it was only shown in PD note picture. I don't get the reason why they cut this scene, but the writer most likely created this scene for the parallelism with the iconic scene of WS and HS in eps 11. My theory is, the writer wants to show, again, the striking difference between Wook and WS. Here Wook was likely shielding HS from the sun eventhough HS didn't need to be shielded as the sun didn't cause her any harm, plus the shield was too small so part of HS's head was still uncovered. In other words, Wook's action looked sweet but actually pointless, just like most of his words and action. Meanwhile, WS was shielding HS from the pouring rain which was really a serious torture for her weakened body and heart, and with a big Batman's wing shield that could completely shielded her from the rain. He provided her the full protection she very much needed, hence the difference with Wook's action before. I think the amount of coverage both shields could provide for HS represented the amount of love their owner had for her.

    6) The hands (Eps 6 & 16)

Both relationship were kind of forbidden, though actually Wook's one at that moment was more acceptable as HS' status was still a royal (before JM announced the king's punishment). With WS though, it was completely between a prince (soon to be king) and a court lady. But upon seeing JM coming on their way, Wook immediately released HS' hand and put his hands behind his back as if he was caught doing something inappropriate. Meanwhile, HS was startled upon seeing JM but WS took his time to carefully put HS's hand back to her lap and even gave it gentle taps as if he wanted to assure her that it was okay for JM to see them together, that being with HS wasn't something he should feel afraid or ashamed of.

    7) The foreshadowing question (Eps 8 & 17)

If only he knew what the answer of his question was for HS and himself. For HS though, it was less than a decade. Unfortunately for WS, he had to live for decades in a world like that, the world full of misery and bitterness where he had to strive to live, alone.

    9) The punishment in Goryeo era (@kdramawriter this one is also related to your post) (Eps 4 & 18)

    10) When trust is absent from a relationship, there's no relationship (Eps 13 & 19)gMGwCzu.jpg

    11) How is it possible to run away when her heart isn't hers anymore? (Eps 1, 7, 11, 20)

How interesting that we got the exact same line from HS in the first and the last episode. Even after living in Goryeo for years and going through so many hardships, this particular trait of HS stayed the same. Be it GHJ or HS, both always wanted to run away and just forget about their problems. But the truth is, even when she died and came back alive 1000 years in the past, she still couldn't run away. The root of GHJ's problem lied on her personality of trusting people too easily therefore she couldn't avoid doing the same mistake. Inside of HS, there was still the same GHJ who was fooled by her bf, only this time by her best friend. Even at the moment of her death, she still held on the belief that she could run away by forgetting everything. How could she expect to forget about WS, seriously?

WS is the opposite of HS. He always faced his problems no matter how difficult they were, he never thought about running away because he understood that it wasn't possible to do. He understood this trait of HS very well and tried to help her dealing with her problems (like when he gave her encouragement words in the garden and at the prison) so she wouldn't think about running away anymore. WS thought he could help her solving all of her problems, which he did actually, but obviously he never expected that in the end, he himself became the only problem HS wanted to run away from. He couldn't provide any help when he was the source of the problem himself, and so for the first and last time in his life, he had to let her run away for her own good.

Now, do you guys mind a little fan story (which might turn out longer…)? This is (loosely) connected to the current discussion about Joon Gi’s next project but I might get a little off course. :sweatingbullets: But now that it's time for him to choose his next project and after reading your discussion, I ended up thinking about the reasons why I find Joon Gi to be such a great actor and I thought it's a good time to share this with you. I'd be really interested in your stories, too!

I don’t belong to those lucky fans who knew of Joon Gi’s existence since his My Girl days. Where I come from, Korean dramas never became that popular as in e.g. South East Asia, so I missed out on a lot. Still, thanks to the internet and Hallyu, even I was able to notice Korean dramas some years ago. I have to add that I never believed myself to become a fan of some celebrity or star ever again after my middle school days. I'm not even much into movies or tv series or pop music. But in college I took a class on Korean history and found myself very intrigued by it and I still remember how my professor mentioned recent historical movies. That’s when he also mentioned The King and the Clown (Isn’t it funny that my professor is to 'blame' for all that was to come?). So I watched King and The Clown, and found it brilliant and intriguing. It was the first time to see a character like Gong Gil in a movie. The movie left a big impression but I didn’t watch anything Korean for more than a year after that and mostly forgot about it. But about a year later there was a time I was so bored that I decided to give Korean dramas another try (I was actually procrastinating an important paper for college, but whatever). I have to admit, my first drama ended up …. not a drama of Joon Gi. But it was a historical one and I somehow liked the approach of Korean historical dramas.

So after that, I wanted to watch more and googled very extensively as to not make a mistake in my second Korean drama choice :D That's how I found out about Iljimae because many people recommended it. And I remember that when I googled for pictures, I found Joon Gi’s face very intriguing and unique - back then I didn’t know yet whether in a good sense or not but it made me grow even more curious. I had the same experience as many other fans who couldn’t believe he was real and he might as well be an anime character who came to life. He really does have an other-worldly beauty to him.

The embarrassing thing is, not once did I make the connection with Gong Gil while watching Iljimae. I didn't realize he's the same actor even though look-wise Iljimae is closest to Gong Gil out of Joon Gi’s characters. And it’s not that I forgot about the movie. I just didn’t see a similarity. I only made the connection after watching some more of his dramas and when I researched on him. But I don’t think I didn’t connect these two because I’m stupid but rather, because he’s THAT good. Iljimae might be the closest to Gong Gil’s looks but they can’t be any more different. And since I binge watched all his dramas in a short time after Iljimae, his other performances only confirmed his versatility. I never once found his characters repetitive but rather found them like real people with their own personalities. Maybe like a little family: Yong Yi is the noisy son, Gong Gil the big ‘sister’, Hasegawa Hanjo is the badass uncle, Jang Tae San the good for nothing father with a big heart and Kim Sung Yeoul is the quiet grandpa looking out for everyone? Anyway, with most actors, it’s like, oh there’s actor X again in this show. But with Joon Gi he makes his characters come into life by becoming their ‘vessel’, if you know what I mean. He’s plain brilliant. That’s why for a long time I didn’t really care for the actor Lee Joon Gi himself (please don’t hate me for this) but only for his performances. He became invisible behind these and I very much thought of him as an artist who lives his art in a beautiful way. So I didn’t call myself fan but for the first time in my life really thought that actors can be incredible artists.

So, all of that was at a time when Joon Gi wasn’t at the ‘peak’ of his career anymore or should I rather say, when almost everyone was crazy about other actors. I think it was when SWWTN was in the middle of being aired and the rating wasn’t that good, though I did see that SWWTN was quite loved by international fans. Thanks to him I even started to watch other kdramas to wait for his new ones but it’s only him and his projects I follow to this day. I actually think it’s thanks to this thread that I started to call myself a fan after some time because you chingus shared so much great info and through this, I got to learn more about the person Lee Joon Gi and how beautiful of a human being (and can I add, adorable cinnamon roll!) he is when he isn’t portraying one of his characters.

That’s when I realized what I really like about his personality and his acting and what makes him so unique: He’s not restricted but goes all out, whether it’s in his acting, his behavior towards his fans and co-actors, the way he moves, or even when it comes to talk in English. Kim Kyu Tae once said about his acting something like “he’s like a volcano” and that’s what I also think. He completely pours himself into what he does and doesn’t feel the need to hold himself back or feel embarrassed. And because he always keeps this volcano like personality up and strives for more is how I believe he got better and better over the years in everything he does, not stagnating but giving his natural talent a chance to improve through his hard work and will power – like a raw diamond which is close to perfection now. I noticed this recently again, this time with his English. I often feel embarrassed about my spoken English and I know many Korean people do and I don’t know about Joon Gi, but in countries where English isn’t the first language and school’s not that particular about English, people have to start some way to get over the stage of awkwardness. Maybe he also did feel uncomfortable at some point or he never did since he is great with people anyway, but either way, he doesn’t let anything hold him back and look at how greatly he improved! And it seems he wants to improve his English further. This way he might as well secure himself more opportunities in international movies. Because sadly, English is probably the biggest obstacle for most actors from non-English speaking countries to make it into Hollywood.

Anyway, to get slightly back to what I really want to say, I became a fan at a time when I felt some negativity towards him even by some fans because they were sad or disappointed with his last drama choices. There also were trolls around, criticizing him for his choice of SWWTN in an unconstructive way (not here on soompi as far as I remember, though!). I don’t want to say SWWTN was a great drama – I don’t think so myself (though I like the drama) but his role was great and he continued to strive for improvement like always. Then, he chose MLSHR and I remember how excited I was (LJG in Goryeo attire? I’m in!) but others not so much. Before MLSHR, I believed I couldn’t love him and his acting any more than I already did but of course, Joon Gi proved me different. I mean, he already showed so much growth in SSWTN and not much time went past, but with his interpretation of Wang So Joon Gi probably surprised even himself. He did not only prove himself to many new viewers but also to his already existing fans (well, at least to me), and as I already said, that’s what I love about him the most. He’s not stagnant but always strives for more growth and thus, I believe it’s hard to ever get fed up with him. This makes me look forward to his next role so much.

Now that MLSHR has ended, I feel even more grateful to him for having taken this role but there still might be people who believe it to be a bad decision. Though I haven't seen any real criticism on him since MLSHR (and where are the trolls? I guess even they know that any criticism for his Wang So would make them sound ridiculous.). I know there are people who don’t think of MLSHR as a great show, but for me it is unique and deep in such a compelling way that it probably became my all time favorite show now. And that’s not ONLY because of Joon Gi, though his interpretation of Wang So is a big part of it. And I know I’m not the only one who loves MLSHR to pieces – it really did have a great international impact. Still, there are people who don’t like it that much or who only went through it because of Joon Gi’s brilliant performance. That’s were taste differs and I like that we all have different taste.

Well, long story short. The reason why I wrote this: It will be the same with his next drama or movie and I came to accept that, like some of you mentioned already, we just can’t foresee whether it will be a rating hit or not. I mean, many thought MLSHR would be a big rating hit but its success played out a little differently than we thought. Whatever the outcome, Joon Gi will deliver. That's the reason I completely trust him with his drama choices. As in, he will choose a drama in which he can show his full potential and go beyond it. He has more insight than us and I trust he won’t make an overhasty decision but choose the best for him out of what he’s been given. But there’s only so much he can do and it's always a risk. It must be such a tough decision for him every time and we know that he thinks much about his fans wishes and the rating success, too. But I still like that he stays true to himself and won’t just go for the typically loved stories in Korea only to get higher chances for good ratings. I trust that he will choose something he and us can benefit from the best.

Sorry for cutting your post. Those sentences I highlighted, you really take the words out of my mouth. What an insightful post you've written, and I think I want to also share my two cents here (turns out to be a long post ). Sorry if it's not much related to the current hot topic.

I was even less lucky than you in term of discovering and witnessing LJG's prowess. I've known Lee Joon Gi (or Lee Jun Ki back then) since 9 or 10 years ago, I think post My Girl time? That was when he still had that manga hairstyle, wearing cross earring and/or necklace (back then I didn't know that cross' meaning for him), and looked just like how the typical Korean idols styled that time. Tbh I'm not fan of that style and that young LJG was too feminine for my taste (and maybe because he was too beautiful and perfect for a human being I couldn't believe he was "original", if you know what I mean). I concluded that he was just another beauty face and didn't bother to dig more about him, plus I was more into Kpop than Kdrama back then. I never really watched any Kdrama eventhough almost all of my female friends was drama goers; partly because I knew how addictive and time consuming it could be and also because the story tended to be similar and boring. I saw my drama goers friends rarely talked about how good the story was, instead they always went crazy over the actors, none of which I found really intriguing. So when my friends went gaga over (the actors in) Pinocchio, YWCFTS, DOTS (there are so much more but these are what I remember) and forced me to watch them, I only read the synopsis and thought "Oh this kind of story again, okay pass." Surprisingly, none of my friends watched Sageuk so I didn't know how good Korean historical drama actually was; in my mind, Korean historical drama was just like Chinese historical drama my grandma used to watch and while some were good, they were kinda slow and boring and I couldn't stand the man's hairstyle (though I knew Korean Sageuk didn't have that one). So unlike most of the fans here, I didn't go through the excitement and anticipation waiting for LJG in MLSHR, because I didn't even know about the drama or the actor.

So how did I discover both of them? It was funny and a bit ironic (considering that I said I preferred the story over the actor) because what drew me into MLSHR was none other than the actor Lee Joon Gi himself. I was scrolling through FB posts when I stumbled upon his name (fortunately still written as LJK or else I wouldn't realize it was him). His name brought back my memory of his past appearance (that I dislike) and that was what made me clicked on that random FB post containing the screenshots/BTS of MLSHR eps 1-4, because I couldn't contain my curiosity; how come that feminine and beautiful flower boy became this masculine and handsome man I was seeing in these pics? That curiosity was enough to make this reluctant self of mine, who never touched any Kdrama for years, searching for online watching site and watched 5 eps in a row, from midnight till dawn (and still craved for more). I fell for WS the moment he delivered his first line (that's why my most favorite part of LJG will always be his voice), and from that point onward, he never stopped surprising me with his acting. The story turned out to be very atypical and beautiful as well, so I didn't completely negate my words  I started digging more about LJG himself by following his IG, and like many people who just knew him from MLSHR, I was taken aback by how different his real personality was from WS. I think I just expected him to be some kind of cool, not necessarily gloomy and cold like WS but at least not that sunshine personality the way he was. I wouldn't lie that I preferred WS to LJG back then (he was too thin and his hairstyle didn't help, plus I'm a sucker for a character like WS) but at the same time, I was awed by his ability to completely disappear into WS, like I didn't see any trace of LJG in WS! Also, the BTS are the proof of how easily he switched back and forth from LJG to WS and what an incredible actor he is. Like you said, he is THAT GOOD, and in my previous post I did talk about the vessel too, but now I think it actually works both way. Since I haven't watched his other dramas (I'm sure I'll be addicted like MLSHR so I don't even dare to DL them unless I have much, much free time), I will talk only about WS. LJG and WS are like racing car and its driver (a bit random but I couldn't think of anything else :sweatingbullets:), respectively. LJG provides everything that WS needs to be a legend, just like what a good car provides its driver with. Meanwhile, WS brings the best out of LJG with his complex personality and action, just like how a good driver brings the best out of his car. Together, like a pair made in heaven, the driver and his car make their way to be the champion. Like LJG said, he is really destined to play WS (and WS is destined to be played only by him).

Back to LJG, I also feel grateful to find this thread because of the same reason that you said. LJG is such a beautiful person inside out, and what I admire the most is he shows his true color. Everyone can pretend as a nice person, but over the time the pretense will fall off. LJG though, stays constant. From the time he was unknown until becoming the Hallyu star, he never changes, be it his attitude to fans or other people. He didn't need to sugarcoat his struggles because they are what make him into his current position. This man has been going through the highs and lows of his life, more than most people have ever had, therefore I too, believe in his choice. Though I can't personally comment on his other character, but from reading through the posts, none of them fall short of expectation. It's not that he doesn't want to pick the going-to be-popular drama because really, nobody can foresee the outcome. If he is offered a character that can help him improve his acting ability, even if it's the mainstream medical or romcom drama, I believe he will consider taking the role. Rating and the resulting awards may be important for his career (and that's what us fans expect for him), but the personal development achieved from playing a role may be the priority for an actor like LJG. He is also a very responsible actor who puts popularity behind other considerations (looking from his initial rejection to RE) so I don't think he will take the role he isn't comfortable with for the sake of popularity and rating. Afterall, he always does what benefit him and the fans. If he does take that role in CM, we should all cherish because it means that the character must be good enough to live up to LJG's expectation, he will have the chance to further improve his acting, and most likely we will witness (and be surprised with) another epic acting showcase by LJG.

  10. Annyeonghasaeyo yeoreobun!! It's been awhile since the last time I post here, and I'm glad to see this thread is still very much alive (ugh so many pages to backread :tears: not complaining tho). I just came back from SK 2 days ago and I wouldn't lie that from the moment I stepped out of the plane til I walked back into it, I constantly tried to find even the tiniest bit of MLSHR (and LJG) It wasn't until the last 2 days that I came to Seoul and finally found some stuffs related to both.

So first, I finally laid my hand on the original MLSHR OST DVD I found in MusicKorea (a DVD store) after roaming in 0 degree C in Myeongdong, and guess what? After I finished the payment, the ahjumma at the cashier asked me something in Japanese (do I look like one? :phew:), and when I looked confused and said, "Sorry?", she changed to Korean (okay I can blend in I will start living here now ). I told her I didn't speak Korean and finally she used surprisingly fluent English to ask me if I had a favorite Korean actor or boyband. I was a bit puzzled and only heard the boyband part so I told her I wasn't really into Kpop, but she eagerly asked me, "How about actor? Do you like any actor? I will give you a photograph of the actor that you like." Oh okay, so in this country of gimmick, even buying DVD would also get me a gimmick LOL and OF COURSE IT'S LEE JOON GI picture that I requested from her (and of course it was available, together with LMH, SJK, LJS and KSH I guess). I didn't have time to search for the magazines with LJG's pictorial, so this is such a precious gift for me :tears:

    OMS3heQ.jpg

I also went to Dongdaemun to buy some souvenirs, and I found Lady Hae Myung and Lady Hae Soo here  (a bit different hairstyle for Lady Hae Myung but nevertheless it reminded me to her) and a cute couple I'd like to think of Wang So and Hae Soo if only they got out of the palace and lived as commoners :tears: (see that signature ponytail of WS keke~)

Finally, the last stop before going home was Chungha Grocery. I didn't expect to find anything MLSHR here but apparently I found this hidden gem  (I'm fully aware that the queen/bride's attire and hairstyle is more like Joseon's one and these are indeed Joseon's royal wedding dolls, but the attire of Goryeo edition of the King and Queen doll doesn't look like the one that GJ and HS wore, plus HS was never seen wearing the queen attire except this wedding outfit, so these dolls are more appropriate to represent GJ and HS. The king/bridegroom's wedding outfit is the same as Goryeo's tho.)

That's all about my trip of discovering MLSHR and LJG in SK  Thank you for reading^^

Ahh, so it was JG afterall? As they were talking about JE singing in Chinese before I thought it was her. Ahh, but nevertheless I still totally love that he sang that song (especially after all of you wrote what it's about) keke.

No, I didn't say that in this FM LJG sang this song lol I only read from posts here about IU sang that song in LJG's FM and I actually haven't watched the fanvids myself because of slow connection (can you believe DL speed 0.21 MB in Seoul? Lol). That's why I said that I think this song is really popular in Korea because both JG and IU seem to know this song very well (or maybe he shared about his favorite song with her and now it becomes her fav too keke~)
