Have been rewatching too, just a bit slower than all of you haha.  

 

Not sure if this was mentioned, but JH actually took an episode to reach out to DS. At the start of episode 4, he noticed DS's awkward situation in the bus ride, yet didn't help her eventually. It took him so many days in the drama to finally make the decision of squeezing through people in the bus and to help her have a more comfortable ride to school. 

 

Another instant to show JH's hesitations towards DS. He could have done better from ep 1 - 6 to get DS's heart, but no he gave in to his logical thinking rather than what his heart told him to do, whereas Taek listened to his heart! 

And when JH did help DS, DS didn't feel anything other than being puzzled as to why he was helping her. Look at DS's facial expressions. That's exactly what my face will show if I am confused about a guy's actions, especially when it is nice actions done by a guy I would normally bicker with or be manly to.

 

And for the chocolate issue, am I the only one who thinks the chocolate is really meant to be for SW? It's the writer's attempt to confuse the audience as to who the husband is. I don't think every single thing has to link to Taek... What are the chances that the chocolate is for Taek? He didn't bring any bags and only brought the comic book DS wanted, and his jacket was worn on himself. The bag and jacket which DS placed the chocolate on belonged to SW - we can easily see that these 2 items were brought into the house by SW himself.

So i'll try to answer your question, rewatching is all of us in different sides of the world agree to a certain time and date, play the episode and while watching, we post our thoughts/ comments/ observations/ reactions/ whatever here in this thread and this in turn will lead to a discussion with the other people who rewatch and together we can discover new things about this drama that escaped our eyes before or reminisce some of our favorite moments or feel all the feels. R88 is such a brilliant drama, and it has endless layers like onions for us to 'peel' hehehe  I hope this answers your question. As to what made us start this... hmm... should i say.. our undying love for the drama, the staff/ production team, and especially the couple? Or we just love looking at all the pretty lol... Personally i sometimes rewatch just to drool over certain body parts of CT (oops =p) but that's just me...  

I wrote this a long time ago in a PM when I first suspected DS as an unreliable narrator...... This is also the first time i realized that maybe, for DS, it has always been TK from the start... and maybe the chocolate isn't for SW like what I originally thought. (No screencaps coz it's too time- consuming, i suggest if you guys want you can rewatch this scene in JH's room from EP 2, aka the chocolate day, aka supposedly peak SW period).

Hmmm, even with a rewatch I still think the chocolate is for SW. Taek didn't bring anything other than the comic book that day and the bag and jacket were indeed SW's. At that point in time, DS liked SW too. My explanation for the fact that the choc isn't for Taek: the writer was just trying to confuse us as to who the husband really is. Furthermore, during that time, the writer made us think that SW liked DS/they were gonna end up together.

The re-watch was hatched behind the scene, right, @shooastrid  because we thought there were scenes that people missed -- important scenes that would help in understanding why things ended up the way they did.  Personally, it's always been my goal to have a rewatch for R88 because 1) that's what I like to do when I think the script is stellar, 2) I wanted to refute the idea that scriptwriter had changed course in the last minute and placed TK as the husband arbitrarily, and 3) most of the interesting ideas and concepts were discussed in PMs as to avoid getting bashed for posting them outside; I thought it was time to share them outside.    

 

Same! Always wanted to rewatch R88, glad I started it recently instead of procrastinating haha. I rooted for Taek right from the start and can totally see how Taek IS the husband all along. I don't get why some supporters of JH are so aggressive and just wouldn't admit that lol. If JH won the husband game I would still love R88 since the script was awesome and had things like family love instead of just typical couple romance.

Rewatching is easy! Just figure out what time the rewatch is going to be [timezones suck. 10pm KST is 6am for me. Lol.] and join us in the thread at that time! You can also re-watch later and post your views if you can't make it at the appointed re-watch time.

Anyway which episode and date is the next rewatch? I am rewatching as well, but I just started not long ago so I am still very behind, only at ep 3 haha. It's the time for projects to be due and to study for upcoming final exams... but R88 still wins lol.

I have always been a silent reader for soompi threads but my love for r88 and this couple made me create a soompi account and start voicing out here! 

I've read a large chunk from the start and skipped some here and there but roughly know what's going on~ that said, can anyone tell me how the rewatching thing works and what made you guys start this activity?
