Seo Kang Jun to Successfully Complete His Fan Meeting in Japan
[by Bae Jung Yun] Actor Seo Kang Jun successfully completed his first solo fan meeting in Japan and raised himself as an Asia star.
On April 10, he held the event ‘Welcome to MY PLACE Seo Kang Jun in OSAKA’ at the Business Park Circular Hall in Osaka and met his Japanese fans. The event was held for two times with about 1,000 fans. He showed off his limitless charm on the stage.
He sang the drama ‘Cheese in the Trap’ OST, ‘Fill You, Erase You’ during the opening of the event. Continuously, he had ‘Seo Kang Jun’s 24 Hours’ questionnaire session, which was showing his actual day behind the stage, and showed his meal plan, hobby and sleeping habits by disclosing pictures taken by himself. It received enthusiastic acclamation from his fans.
Moreover, he played ‘River Flows in You’ with piano and captured the fans’ eyes and ears. Fans were listening carefully to the beautiful melody played by him.
Particularly, the most eye catching scene during the event was him to interact with fans by having a physical contact in a friendly way. From the Q&A session, men and women of all ages and even 6-year-old kid questioned him. He, who personally went close to the fans and answered the question, touched the fans heart.
He interacted with fans through various games and talks such as ‘Life somebody up in his arm’, ‘Eye contact’ and ‘Taking a selfie’. Sometimes, he acted funny to provide entertainment for the fans and had a pleasant talk by mixing Japanese, which he practiced beforehand. At the last, he sang ‘The Manual’ by Eddy Kim and ended the last stage. In addition, he had ‘High Touch’ session for fans that were unwilling to say goodbye.
Other than the event, he proved his popularity in Japan by having the interview with several major media in Japan and various promotions such as ‘High Touch’ and ‘Autograph Event’. He gave his remarks by saying, “I was worried, but also thrilled about my first fan meeting in Japan. It was so thankful that I was able to meet each one of my fans and interact with them. Seo Kang Jun to Hold Fan Meetings in Japan and China

'Kill Me, Heal Me' wins Houston drama awards

SEOUL, April 19 (Yonhap) -- South Korean TV series "Kill Me, Heal Me" has won best drama at the World Fest-Houston International Film Festival, the television network that aired the show said Tuesday.
The MBC show starring actor Ji Sung and actress Hwang Jeong-eum won the Grand Prize in the TV Series-Dramatic category this year, the broadcaster said.
In "Kill Me, Heal Me," a first-year psychiatry resident (Hwang) falls in love with the heir (Ji) to a family-owned conglomerate. The heir suffers from dissociative personality disorder which is thought to have been caused by childhood trauma.
"'Kill Me, Heal Me' is the first TV series in Asia that deals with dissociative personality disorder," Kim Jin-man, who produced the show, said in response to the award. "You find yourself grappling with the issue of child abuse, as you laugh and cry with the show's protagonists."
Two other MBC shows were honored at the festival. "Treasure Ship of Joseon," a special TV documentary on the discovery of a Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) ship from the ocean, took second place in the TV Special-Documentary category. "The King of Mask Singer," a singing competition program, captured third in Entertainment.
WorldFest is the third competitive international film festival in North America after San Francisco and New York. It is also the oldest independent film and video festival in the world, according to its website.
