Only romance anime with nice art I can think of off the top of my head is Revolutionary Girl Utena: Adolescence of Utena. The art is absolutely beautiful, but it's pretty crazy and a little tough to follow storyline wise. I also don't know how it compares to any of those because I haven't seen them.

I enjoyed it, though.

clannad after story. but you technically have to watch clannad to watch after story. i didn't like the first season that much but after story is pretty baller (it doesn't get into the story until like episode 8 though) watch it!!!! they're all on youtube. and it's definitely one of the better romantic animes i've seen in awhile.

and i loved howl's moving castle.. but i'm fairly sure you watched it. lol.

Well, I don't know if it compares to the art styles of the movies you named above but the Studio Ghibli movies are awesome. The ones that deal with romance are:

Castle in the Sky

Ocean Waves

Howl's Moving Castle

Whisper of the Heart (personal fave)

Nausicaa

Princess Mononoke

Spirited Away

Although in some of the movies the romance is a little subtle but still really sweet. My favorites and the ones with the most romance for me were Castle in the Sky and Whisper of the Heart. Ocean Waves deals with school kids so the romance is also more direct but it wasn't my favorite one.

Oh! Millennium Actress is also a love story and the art is spectacular. But I don't know if you would enjoy the story. :)

You should watch Summer Wars if you liked The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. It's not entirely about romance because there are also some more important elements like family integrated in the movie.

yeah.... i honestly think SA is the best romance anime i ran into.... the romance is there, give what the audience wants to see and you don't get bore watching it. but no.... i don't have any recommendation right now.... i hardly find any romantic anime i like.

and yeah... ouran was cute too.

i recommened cardcaptor sakura, there is two movies to it (so it's like, 1st season ->1st movie then it's 2nd season -> 2nd movie) but you should watch the anime too) it'll make WAY more sense this anime is REALLY cute and it is definitely in my top five animes; this is 100% recomemened!

okay so the 1st season concentrated more on the characters and the plot, more like hinting on the romance then there is the 1st movie, btw you shouldn't watch the 1st one, it's not that good at all, you don't even need to watch it to get the 2nd season or anything, i regret not listening to the person that told me not to watch it, b/c it was a waste of time(you should watch the 1st SEASON thou, that is good) , BUT the 2nd season focused more on the romance structure and the development of Li Sharon (idk if it's right spelling btw he is the love interest of the main character Kimimoto Sakura again, not sure if i spelled that right) character and how he starts to understand his feelings it ends a little unfinished (like it gets you thinking alot about how they end up) and the 2nd movie ties it up very well, i can't think of a better ending, the 2nd movie is definitly worth your time

this anime makes you love the characters and really sucks you into all the magic, i don't care who you are or how old you are, everyone will love this anime

I recommend Toradora! It's has great art, so far my favourite anime and I've rewatched it twice haha
