Recommended Posts

On April 23, MBC released a statement saying, “First and foremost, we bow our heads and apologize to our viewers. We sincerely apologize for worrying our viewers with the news of Gil’s drunk driving incident, which took place in the early morning of April 23.”

“We are very sorry to inform our viewers with bad news especially during a time when the whole nation is under grief and having a rough time overcoming difficult times. We understand the disappointed our viewers may feel, and the production team is also reflecting on the incident.”

The statement continued, “Gil is currently reflecting deeply about the fact that he did drink and drive without making any excuses. He also informed us of his decision to leave the show in order to take some time for self-reflection. The production team has decided to accept Gil’s decision, and the show will continue with six members.”

“We will do our best to adjust the parts where Gil appears on the show, so the viewers will not feel uncomfortable watching. We have decided to cut out a part of the show we recently filmed.”

The statement ended with, “One last time, we apologize for worrying our viewers. We will do our best to become a more mature ‘Infinity Challenge’ not forgetting the undeserved love and support our viewers have shown us.”

Gil was caught drunk driving on April 23 by the police, and since then, his diver’s license has been canceled.
