But I'm not sure. If you want to pick up a girl and you want to say how're you doing? You could say like this, "Sugee kawaii na～choushi wa dou?"

or if you wanted to say what are you gonna do today, then "Sugee kawaii ne～ kyou wa nani s h i t e ru?" maybe...

can someone let me know if i'm translating this right:

子どもの時、もっとまじめだったら、よかったんですが。

when i was a child, if i was more serious, then it would be good.

or is it

if when i was a child i were more serious, then it would be good.

i'm learning to make the if-then statements with たら .

You mean into English or into Japanese? haha

Both are right..but I guess more naturally in English it would be I should have been more serious as a child.

or closer to the Japanese equivalent - It would have been better if I were more serious as a child

象 is also zou and means elephant

so what she probably wanted to ask is
