2008 Asian Excellence Awards

Airs May 1, on E! at 6:00 p.m.

The show will be recorded on April 23 at Royce Hall, UCLA. It will air on E! Entertainment on May 1 at 6 p.m. ET/PT, 5 p.m. CT and Comcast on Demand beginning May 7 and through the end of May. This is the 3rd annual Asian Excellence Awards, for the past two years it was on AZN tv network, but as some of you might know, that channel is shutting down on April 9, so this is possibly the last one that is going to happen.

I'm surprised but not really that people are getting nom'd for showing up in a handful of episodes. It's like getting an award for a 2-minute cameo in a film. Go minorities in media, go!

Naveen Andrews is a fine actor but really, The Brave One? He had less than 5 minutes of screen time... slim pickings.

Um yeah...some of these nominations seem like a joke! Asian excellence award for Vanessa Hudgens in High School Musical...Tila Tequila...Maqqie Q for Balls of Fury...Chow Yun Fat for Pirates....I mean when I first read some of those...I was like WTF?!?!?!

Then I got to thinkin and this all just shows again how limited Asians are in the Hollywood industry. I guess there weren't even enough roles so they just picked all the movies and whatever the Asians were in.

Aww...I want Yau-Man Chan to win too...he was so awesome! But yeah with Kaba and Jabba being on there...I'm pretty sure Jabba is gonna take it.

Yup. Her mother is full Filipino. Her dad is Native American and Irish.

She ALSO has Spanish and Chinese in her as well.

ugh I concur. Tila Tequila is a disgrace to all Asians. Her personality is just so loud and annoying.

She think its cute but it really isn't. But no lie, annoying she might be, she is paving the way for other asians ( hollywood wise).

So I guess we can give her that much.
