We’re proud to announce that the first of the Downloadable Content packs for Mega Man 9 will be available this week. Here’s the run down on what’s coming out.

Endless Attack (300pts) – Test your skills on a stage without end. Try to break the record for getting the farthest. Results will be displayed in the Rankings page. Not compatible with other Challenges.

Proto Man Mode (200pts) - Play the game as Proto Man. Some of Proto Man’s abilities may differ from Mega Man’s. Proto Man has the Charge Shot ability, Power Slide ability, and a shield that he can utilize to deflect bullets at enemies. However, Proto Man also takes double damage and has double bounce back when he is hit.

There is no story for Proto Man and he is not compatible with Rankings or Challenges.

Both DLC packs are available now on WiiWare Channel today (October 6th, 2008) with XBLA following on October 7th, and PSN releasing October 9th.

Mega Man 9 Download Content:

Hard Mode – Dubbed Hero Mode in Japan, this mode enables you to play the entire game on an increased difficulty level with alternate enemy distribution and spawning points. Hard Mode is not compatible with Rankings or Challenges Modes.

Expert Mode – Dubbed Super Hero Mode Japan, this mode represents the apex of Mega Man 9 difficulty settings and is not for the novice Mega Man 9 player. This mode triples the level of difficulty from the default Mega Man 9 game. Expert Mode is not compatible with Rankings or Challenges Modes.

Special Time Attack Stage – This DLC gives you an additional stage for Time Attack Mode, complete with an all new level and Robot Master Boss, “Fake Man.” Similar in difficulty to the Willy Stages, players will have a fun time tackling this time sensitive competitive stage. Special Time Attack Stage is not compatible with Challenge Mode.

Art Style: ROTOHEX™ (Nintendo, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 600 Wii Points): Use colored triangular panels to create a vibrant mosaic of stained glass in Art Style: ROTOHEX. As triangles fall from the top of the screen, rotate them to group six panels of the same color and create a matching hexagon, or HEX. Once the HEX has been formed, it will disappear, allowing the existing panels to shift and more panels to fill the playing field. Earthworm Jim (Sega Genesis, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone - Animated Violence, 800 Wii Points): Jim was an ordinary earthworm who did very earthworm-like things, such as flee from crows and eat dirt. One day, during an outer space fight, a suit drops to Earth and falls around Jim. It mutates him into a large and intelligent (at least by earthworm standards) superhero. Play as Jim in this Sega Genesis classic. When Jim learns of the evil plans of Psy-Crow and Queen Slug-for-a-Butt, he decides to rescue Princess What's-Her-Name. Run, gun, swing on hooks by your head and launch cows at the interesting characters you meet along the way, such as Major Mucus, Chuck and Fifi, Evil the Cat, and Bob the Killer Goldfish.

its like a mario party game crossed with an RPG. You go around the map fighting creatures, getting weapons/magic while trying do assigned objectives. You can even attack the other players and make then lose a few turns if you kill them

With all the building hype, let's have a thread about the new James Bond 007 game, Quantum of Solace.

I've played the short

and it's definitely a solid James Bond title with some genre-defining features, most notably, the cover system which makes you feel more like a 00 Agent.

Quantum of Solace is the first James Bond game this generation, and will be based on the films Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. The game is powered by the Call of Duty 4 engine, and is developed by Beenox who also worked the PC version. Most of the game play will be in a first-person fashion with the ability to switch to a third-person view during cover system or quick time events.

The Wii version of the game will have four players split-screen local multiplayer, exclusive to the system, in addition to the online multiplayer. With this version, you will be able to create your own character. Players may choose to use the unique Wii Remote and Nunchuk control scheme to seamlessly target and engage their enemies or they can leverage the Wii Zapper to truly step into the shoes of James Bond.

Nintendo are being real douchbags with the Wii Speak. If you buy it used, you can't chat outside of gaming. Nintendo won't replace the voucher if it gets lost or stolen.
