Fans saw BOF crew and cast filming at a library. Maybe BOF will finally show JD seriously studying to prepare for med school? Also, someone supposedly overheard the crew talk about filming at Jeju island next week... maybe we should expect to see the deserted island scene soon?
Maybe Jeju island is the scene where Junpyo & Jaekyung and Jihoo and Jandi go travelling together? This was in the manga...and also where Jaekyung tries to use her womanly wiles to attract Junpyo hahaha!
-
Who knows, right? Because of Kim Bum's injury, chances are we may see Yijung frequently doing pottery or his scenes have to be filmed with him sitting down or shot from the waist up. That leaves Woobin as the only available guy willing to distract Jaekyung. Haha! Jihoo's out of the equation since we know where his affections lie at this point.
WB/JK will be fun together, maybe their banters will bring balance to the now angsty relationship between JP/JD/JH and the getting-to-know-you status of YJ/GE.
I'm actually hoping that Jae Kyung will really end up with Woobin! HAHA personally I think they're quite compatible. Jae Kyung's "Hey you speak English?" and Woobin's "Yo ma bro" - what a perfect match! MWAHAHA!
Seriously I don't care if this ending is cheesy:
- Junpyo and Jandi
- Jihoo doesn't get Jandi, but regains some family ties aka grandfather (plus a whole host of gay fans lol)
- Yi Jeong and Ga Eul
- Woobin and Jae Kyung
HAHAHA! Disclaimer: The above is just how I would personally like this drama to end. Yes, in a totally cheesy way. LOL
-
LMAO
What's up with that part where the gangster asks if Woobin is Prince So and he gives a really bad richard simmons YEAH
HAHAHA I rewatched that many times too, because Prince Song is such a crappy mafia name! PRINCE SONG!
But awww no worries Woo Bin, you still look really bad richard simmons fighting!

Bummie should be able to rest at least for a week since the Macau scenes start next week, so that won't impact the filming schedule too much. I would guess the PDs are going to film any scenes with YJ/KB sitting down or not walking/standing first next week and then any more rigorous scenes will be pushed back as long as possible until he's better.
I do hope he gets rested!
I wonder if this will affect the plot...I guess for the next few episodes Yi Jeong will become kind of like Woobin, and probably they'll give more lines to Woobin?
I hope he gets his rest...and bounces back for the rest of the drama. Sigghhhh.
-
OH NO! Man one accident after another. I hope Bummie gets well soon, but man this is really worrying.

For those who understand korean, you can go read kim bum's message:
http://gall.dcinside.com/list.php?id=f4&am...74&page=135
rough translation:
he says hi and that through minho hyung he knew of the site and came to take a look and found it very interesting. He asks for fans' continued support of BOF drama.
to which minho replied: when did i introduce you to this site....
and bummie said: hyung.. you're too much
haha.. their interaction is way too cute. bummie left a couple other messages there.
I KNOW!! His messages are so cute! It just gives off a kind of uh little boy feeling? Especially the part where he says, "Hyung, you're too much." Damn this guy is just too cuteeee! Seriously the way he types in Korean....so effing cute.

This might have been shared already (even though I did run through the previous pgs)...
I just heard that Gaeul's bf/jerk is named Gong Soopyo ~
Junpyo vs Soopyo, xD They just had to make it that way, haha.
HAHAHAHA! Gong Soopyo! LOL! Well its a perfect name for this jerk I guess.
Oh man I think KBS wants to kill me with all these pictures. I can't concentrate on work until the show starts!
-
OH MY GOD. That kiss scene! Is this still KBS? HAHA how amazing! Good job Jun Pyo!
Now, can Yi Jeong and Ga Eul have that kind of kiss scene too? Huh pretty please PD nim!
-
It looks like GE/YJ couple's story will develop like the manga, but I have faith in the producers that when they said things are going to be different, it means that the end result will be a happy ending for them.
Me too!!! I really don't mind that the process is the same as the manga, just as long as the ending is different.
Once again, I want to thank you for your translations!
-
^Posting those pics only makes me want the Ghost scene even more! Gosh, I'd love to see Kim Bum tackle such a...sensual scene!
Me too! Somehow his hands look really pretty. Damn looking at Kim Bum pictures has this nuna all flustered!
-
^ Thank you so much for translating blue angel 1004!
I'm going to post this in the SoEul thread, and credit you of course.
Thank you again!

You can check this site : k-aigo.soopie.net/bof
Oh, no SoEul scene or very very little bit, *sigh*
But I've read that from preview ep 9, there'll have double date JD-JP and GaEul with her new boy friend. Is that true? So it follow the manga? What about my SoEul? I've thought GaEul's fell for him (just a little, but something fell for)
Please scripwriter!!!! Or I'll bombard KBS >
Yes its true, at least for this part it follows the manga. I think later on Ga Eul will fall for Yi Jeong, so don't worry.
It remains to be seen whether Yi Jeong will fall for her and whether they will have a happy ending though.
-
There is no Ep. 9 preview today. Well except for 1 scene where we see Junpyo's mom getting mad, all the other scenes in the preview are flashbacks of Ep. 8.
I'm guessing they haven't finished filming Ep. 9 haha!
first night ?hahaha..
its too much JP
Haha yeah him and his wanting to "take responsibility" after that cable car thing in the first few episodes. LOL!

This is a great comment! I think this is a general and very broad difference between Japanese and Korean dramas -- that there is less dramatic emotion in Japanese romantic dramas, whereas there may be, at times, too much of it in Korean dramas.
Again, these are very generalized observations, but I generally do not see a lot of emotional love professions in Japanese rom-com dramas and the extent of it may just be a simple "I like you" as a resolution to a love story arch. I think J-directors sort of want the audience to inherently know that the characters are in love, instead of whacking you over the head with it. This can be a good/bad thing because sometimes as a viewer, you just want a couple to announce it cheesily to each other that they're in lub.
Whereas in Korean dramas, love professions and angst is almost ALL that you get -- which again may be a good thing and a bad thing depending on a viewer's preferences. The excessive "saranghaeyo"'s and misunderstandings can tend to make a story draggy but there are some insanely intense scenes that can make a shipper very happy
I'm sort of banking on the Korean version of the Hanadan story to deliver some more of that angst because I never felt it with the Japanese version. I think in regards to filming/directing and all the technical aspects of story-telling, the Japanese version is far superior to the Korean version, based on the little that I've seen of the Korean version. But! The so-called passionate love that we know is supposed to exist between the Domyouji and Makino characters was never taken to that level in the Japanese live action version, methinks, which is why I was never supercrazy, unbashedly waving any sort of Domyouji/Makino OTP flag, heh. Here's to hoping they deliver in the K-version!
Thank you so much for your comment! You just said everything I was thinking in my head, except I couldn't think of the English words to write it out. LOL
Totally agree with this sentence, "which is why I was never supercrazy, unbashedly waving any sort of Domyouji/Makino OTP flag, heh." When I was watching HYD, sure I enjoyed it, but I also didn't give a damn when I missed a few episodes in a row. Whereas for Boys Over Flowers, I just have to sit in front of the com and refresh youtube until I see the new episodes uploaded. Haha
-
Actually I like the Korean version the most. I admit the Japanese adaptation had a tight plot and good characters. I don't know how to explain this, but sometimes when you watch dramas, you kind of get a crushing feeling in your heart? The Japanese version never gave me that kind of feeling. It felt more like I was watching a drama about a normal story, rather than a love story.
Just my own personal thoughts.

And even till now, Yi Jeong's the one constantly chasing after her what with the horse, sun screen, boat, party food talk, etc. Because of this, I'm hoping (praying) that the GaJeong (Soujiroxyuuki) relationship will be different.
.....
But I'm hoping his love for Sara will end ASAP and he's new love for Ga eul will start ASAP!
Yay keep the GaJeong discussion flowing!
Like one poster said earlier, I think the main reason why Yi Jeong is "chasing" after Ga Eul is really to find out more information for the Jandi/Junpyo situation. However, I definitely do think that other that this, Yi Jeong kind of does it because he's amused by Ga Eul. Just check out that sexy smirk after he helps Ga Eul onto the horse! I certainly hope that these are signs of Yi Jeong's growing attraction to Ga Eul, even if he might not know it. LOL
And I definitely agree with you about the Yuki stalking after Soujirou part. Although I admire Yuki for her courage, I really didn't liked the Japanese ending which made Yuki look kind of like a stalker.
About Sara: In the manga, it seems that although Soujirou confessed to Yuki, they realised that it was all in the past and their "once in a lifetime" moment had already passed. I'm guessing the Korean version will end this way too. (Seriously doubt that they will do the typical girl turns evil and tries to win guy back plot.) Like you, I think the only question left really is whether Yi Jeong falls in love with Ga Eul and whether he'll do anything about it. Hoping that they end up together! Is it too much to hope for a super duper fairy tale ending with Jandi & Jun Pyo and Ga Eul and Yi Jeong huh? Come on Korean scriptwriters, I don't want a realistic ending! I want a happy ending!
-
Thanks You All... and please keep watching it on MySoju until we reach our goal, The Number 1 Spot....
Does it matter what spot BOF is on mysoju?
The ratings that matter are the Korea TV ratings.

Rough Translation of the above article (SPOILER ALERT):
Title: Arrogant Second Generation Chaebol, I can be one if I work hard at it
On the 20th, we met actor Lee Min Ho, who plays the role of Goo Jun Pyo in "Boys Over Flowers." Due to the planes flying overhead, the filming has stopped for the last 5 minutes. When the producer shouted, "Goo Jun Pyo, a plane!" actor LMH stared at the plane with a disgusted look and shouted, "Stop that plane!" and brought everyone to laughter.
I really love how he said, "Stop that plane!" So in character!
No wonder I love his rendition of Tsukasa so much! Lee Minho ya, if it wasn't for Kim Bum's killer smile I would seriously be head over heels for you.
-
valley girl: So, you're nuna too..Seems that a lot of nunas loving Kim Bum..
Yeah I guess us nunas can't resist his smile. Dang he really has a 살인미소 killer smile!
-
kilaalaa, i absolutely loved reading that article on GaJeong skinship  can't wait to see what else the writers have in stored for us GaJeong shippers The articles make it sound like GaJeong's going to have a good ending!
Onto the cute bits of this episode....
**I was thinking "Now that's smooth" when Yi Jeong was helping Ga Eul onto her horse, and he just walked away with that oh-so-sexy smile  GaJeong is rocking every scene
I know, seriously if the writers don't give them a good ending there'll probably be a lot of complaints from netizens!
And yes yes I totally loved that sexy little smirk he gave. Damn I feel like a pedo for perving over Kim Bum but then he's not making it easier for me by saying he likes nunas!
-
I'm so happy to hear he likes nunas, because I'm a nuna fan! HAHAHA!
-
That picture of Jandi's face is being blurred
Are the fans angry at her?
Nah its probably because she had a weird expression that wasn't very flattering. Whereas Jihoo looked great. I guess they blurred it to save her dignity. LOL!
(Damn I'm such a stalker on this thread.)

Boys Over Flowers - Kim Bum, Kim So Eun - The start of skinship...and an anticipated loveline
The sub-loveline of Kim Bum and Kim So Eun in the KBS drama Boys Over Flowers is drawing increasing attention from viewers.Gifted potter So Yi Jeong (Kim Bum) and Jandi's friend Ga Eul (Kim So Eun) have started a beautiful "bickering relationship".
As compared to the heartaching love triangle between Jandi - Junpyo - Jihoo, the loveline between Yi Jeong and Ga Eul is lighthearted, which has made the plot even more interesting.
The scenes of this lighthearted couple appeared in the 5th and 6th episode aired on Jan 19 and 20. As Yi Jeong tries to create opportunities for Jandi and Junpyo to be alone together, there has been more interaction scenes between Yi Jeong and Ga Eul.
Although the two are always quarreling, Yi Jeong running in search of Ga Eul after hearing her scream, nonchalantly offering to apply sunscreen for Ga Eul, and helping her up the horse, are all signs of skinship foreshadowing a beginning loveline between the two in this drama.
Because of this loveline, Kim Bum and Kim So Eun who were previously in the spotlight for their roles in East of Eden and Empress Chun Chu, have once again drawn everyone's attention.

I know some of you have read the manga; don't you think Junpyo looks exactly like the sexy beast that Tsukasa is in the last volume of the manga?
AHAHA!
VV AHA sweet maple, that was the exact picture I had in mind! Oh man Lee Minho is such a perfect Tsukasa!
[Drama 2009] Boys Over Flowers / Hana Yori Dango 꽃보다 남자
in k-dramas & movies
Posted
I don't get why people are complaining about the essence of Boys Over Flowers, and complaining that the storyline changed.
Even in the manga, even in Hana Yori Dango, Makino never stayed the same shouting/raving Makino. I don't think the producers specially changed the storyline after reading netizens' comments. This change was originally part of the Hana Yori Dango story, if you bother to read the entire manga.
