@ruizaio As always, thank you for the information! I take it there hasn't been an update? I really want this to happen, but I'm starting to lose hope ㅠ ㅠ Is there anything else we might do to convince the PD?

Hello all!
I'm probably behind by a couple hundred pages by now, so I wanted to ask: does anyone know where we stand as far as a not-cuts DVD release? Has any sort of conclusive statement been released? Are there petitions of any sort still open to contribute to? I really can't accept the fact that we didn't get to see a modern day reunion scene that THEY ACTUALLY FILMED (among numerous other cut scenes I'd really like to see). @ruizaio, do you know anything? You see to be one of the most knowledgeable people on this forum, especially where this process is concerned...

Hello all! I'm sure many (if not all) of you are as heart-sore as I am for having to send our SoHae couple off like that TT~TT
I'm taking comfort in the fact that they at least *filmed* a modern day reunion scene. Here's hoping we'll get to see it!
My sister and I collaborated to make a video to send SoHae off (NOTE: we have never made a video before, so there are a few glitches, but we hope you'll enjoy it anyway ^ ^) If you do share or repost it, please give credit to <gemini253> We worked hard to make this, so please don't 'steal'! If anyone who likes it can make sure the cast gets to see it, that'd be really cool, too Cheers!

SoSoo = undying love that transcends time
Saw this on a Korea forum and loved it! The text is from a poem by Baek Hui Da called "Will You Be Spring Again"
Loosely translated, it reads:
I thought you were someone who resembled Spring
So I thought I would forget you come Summer, but
Seeing as I'm thinking of you again,
You were Summer...
If things go on like this, I'm afraid you'll resemble Autumn, as well
I'm scared you'll also be in the white Winter
When spring comes again,
(I wonder) will you be spring again?
It's a poem about finding the person you're thinking of in every little thing (and, in doing so, never forgetting them). It's all the seasons of their love, literally and figuratively. Whoever made it, it's lovely. ^ ^

Anyone knows where to find the korean text to Wang So's poem?
The way Su reads it in the drama is: 물 닿은 곳에 이르러 앉아 보니, 구름이 일 때로다.
An alternate reading I've found is: 물길이 다한 곳에 이르러 앉아서 구름이 이는 곳을 보노라.
If you just read it by pronouncing the hanja, it's: 行到水窮處(항도수궁처) 座看雲起時(좌간운기시)

I love it too! I could just watch it endlessly on loop ^ ^
As far as the significance of Pegasus, I think it's been mentioned in this forum as well but Korean fans have put together that the significance is not in the mythology but the timing of when the constellation appears in the night sky. In Korea, Pegasus rises in the early evening in autumn - and historically Gwangjong took the throne in fall of 949, our current year in the drama. Thus, as Ji Mong says, "the time has come"

3) Writes a letter at the desk. Doesn't show HS give/send it to anyone.
It's a letter to Ji Mong. The characters she writes are the hanja for his official title 사천공봉 (司天供奉) and the Choi' (崔) of his last name for CJM 최지몽 (崔知夢)
She probably left it on the desk for him to find (possibly not the smartest move) because that's JM's desk in the observatory that she's writing it at.

Heh, sadly, I can't take credit for that ^ ^. Because So's name is also a verb ending commonly heard in Sageuk, there are all sorts of plays on his name floating around the Korean forums. Some of my personal favorite punny So hashtags include #말랑 카우 #수바라기 #하찮소 and #소든어택 XD A lot of them appear in that video SBS posted not long ago with all the hashtags about So's various 'charms' - it's clear whoever is in charge of making the videos is very in touch with what's trending in the fandom (vampire So, the rain ceremony parody, etc.) . I enjoy them X)

Hi! Thanks for all the content you always post. I've seen a lot of these very high-quality images with the small, round, red seal in the lower left corner but I can't figure out where they originate from. Do you know who the fan is that makes them? They're so pretty!

A few interesting historical facts:
1. Gwang Jong only killed one of his brothers - Won. (Although...he did kill quite a few of his nephews. ^ ^;)
2. Gwang Jong was apparently uncommonly tall for people of that era and was a favorite of his father's.
3. Choi Ji Mong actually existed and did advise Taejo and Gwang Jong in a capacity similar to that portrayed in the drama - in fact, his predictions were apparently remarkably accurate, and even included several revolts/uprisings. The reason his name is so apropos of his character ( 崔知夢 - where Ji Mong is written with the characters for 'know' and 'dream') is that the emperor actually "rechristened" him in honor of his calling/talent.

On-the-fly trans of the pre-release clip:
WY: Welcome.
QY: Show the emperor respect!
WY: Don't be so hard on him. Even so, the reason I lived was all thanks to this guy. You...cut me (shallowly?). At the very end, you checked/pulled back/exercised restraint in your finger tips.
WS: If you find that to be a shame, I can still send you [to hell] right now if you'd like.
QY: You-!
WY: Lord Wang Gyu, in trying to make the 10th prince Eun the emperor, (???) and was executed. Go get him. If you catch him...you can kill him on the spot.
WS: Was [killing] the previous emperor not enough? I can't [read: WON'T] do that.
WY: You can't? You'll have to. That way, whether it's Baek Ah, or Choi Ji Mong,..or, yes, even Hae Su...those you consider to be your people will be safe. You...are a dog that catches his brothers to begin with, aren't you?
(Sorry, there are like three words I can't quite pick out - anyone else got them?)

Ep 15 Test Preview:
With Hye Jong (Mu)'s death, Wang Yo (Jeong Jong) has, in the end, become emperor. Making use of *'Wang Gyu's uprising ( 亂) Jeong Jong tries to frame Wang Eun for his conspiracy/mutiny...and orders Wang So to capture Wang Eun. Meanwhile, Wang Eun and Sun Deok hole-up in Hae Su's room before departing the palace but...
*Historically, Wang Gyu (Eun's grandfather) was killed under charges of planing a rebellion (though many believe this to be a cover for shady political maneuvering), so it's possible Yo is taking a page out of Wook's book and trying to look like the hero who returned too late to save the emperor from Wang Gyu's plot to kill him...and try to make Eun pay the price..? (although, who, exactly led the last rebellion, pray tell?) Ah well, what little we've seen of the citizens makes them look like a flock of sheep crossed with a lynch mob, so who knows what they'll believe. I guess in royal politics, even if everyone knows you're guilty, if no one's in a position to point fingers, you get off scott-free...or something...?

Does anyone has answer to the scene where little So tied in a pole at the top of the wall and the army with fire arrows shoot at him.... That woman is really crazy as hell... How come she watch her son treated that way and smirked....
In this cannon, apparently the Yoo clan laid siege to the Kang clan and the Kangs, mistakenly believing the Yoos were actual human beings, (unlike themselves, who would use a child as an arrow shield?), tied So the the ramparts to get the Yoos to cease firing, but his mother ordered them to fire anyway, apparently not caring if So was killed in the process. From what little I've seen of the original scripts, it was supposed to be Mu who got him down, which is why when his father asks him in ep. 3 why he risked his life to take Mu's place in the Narye, So explains it as repaying a life debt. It may also explain why So feels (felt? *snif*) more loyalty for his older half-brother and his father than his mother. I was afraid they would cut this scene entirely even though it flashed in the 6 min trailer, but I guess better late than never?

Some Koreans speculate that So will get hurt really bad and Soo will take care of him somewhere outside of the palace (the room looks rather shabby), but then the same blanket was in her room at Damiwon, so we're not sure anymore...
Oh! I like that much better! (well, not So getting hurt, that makes my heart hurt, but the idea that there's more to come.)
Also, this may sound a bit mean, but I want Su to feel genuine fear for So (for him, not of him - been there, done that, *sigh*) She's acting like he's impervious to harm because history says he still has a whole bunch of important things to accomplish...but just because history says he won't die any day soon doesn't mean he can't get hurt. ㅠㅠ (#걱정주소 ㅋㅋㅋ) But seriously, I want her to genuinely worry for him and be able to clearly delineate between the historical figure she read about in school more than a thousand years after he lived and the man she's spent the last four years beside and come to love. Yes, they're one and the same, but the reality of a person is so much more than the account left in a (revised) thousand-year-old history. It's not enough to know he was called the 'bloody monarch' or that he did a whole bunch of important stuff. It's all in the 'why' and, as we've seen, so far the 'why' all revolves around her.
Despite the fact that So claimed to both YW and his mother that he would take the throne, I don't for a second think he believed it. He was just saying it in challenge/to be contrary, or to point out how ridiculous the idea was that something like a throne could actually win someone's heart. He doesn't want power for power's sake, and based on various conversations he's had with his father and Ji Mong (and others), I don't think he's ever considered becoming emperor as an actual possibility for him. His conversation with Ji Mong in this last episode just wrung my heart because of how trapped he feels and how resigned he is to his 'fate' of always being bound like a dog to others' whims.
Anyway, I anticipate him feeling a lot more trapped with Yo on the throne and Su's life on the line and I'm terrified of how far he'll be forced to go to protect the one person he's convinced he can't live without - and what will be left of him when the dust settles. For all the rumors about him and his 'scary' reputation (and yes, we saw with the monks that it's at least partly deserved), and as much as he lashed out in the beginning (rather like a kicked animal) So has shown himself to have a gentle heart, and not only towards Su, which I think is hugely important - the fact that he first rose to her defense (the whipping, her marriage) on a purely human level, and that injustice genuinely bothers him (Baek Ah, his niece, the man who lost his arm, etc.). It's not that he's violent and Su's love somehow redeems him; it's that he's actually terribly kind (#말랑카우) and decent and the world he lives in is going to force him to be cruel in order to survive it. Thinking he had killed Yo was hard enough on him, and Yo had been the aggressor...not to mention he would have been put to death for treason regardless, in the end..But if those b******* really do manage to make him hunt down Eun, I feel like it's going to be a tipping point. I just hope that when everything goes to hell Su is able to see the person and not the 'figure'...and be there to help him pick up the pieces. (Please, Su! Please! FIGHT for him!)
On that note, I think I'm ready to see 'Ruthless Su'. She finally found her spine!...to stand up to...So...? Okay, so I actually think being able to go toe-to-toe like that with someone she loves is a huge step forward for Su on a personal level and proof that she's secure in his love for her...but I still really wish she had found the guts to stand up to...just about anyone else. I want to see her employ that steel-spine in his defense. We've had Naive Su, and Zombie Su, and now even Elegant-but-Repressed Su, and we're finally starting to see the reemergence of Happy Su...but if we can't have her I'm waaay past ready for Badass Su. Yup. Badass Su all the way,

In ep 3, So wakes up and follows Soo to the stone piles and they have a discussion on motherhood that leads to So eventually deciding on covering up his mother's plot that was added later to the rerun version of the episode in Korea. This is also why when Wang So tells Hae Soo that he'll be living in the palace, she tells him to stop having bad dreams.
I remember you mentioning this before and being terribly disappointed they'd decided to cut the nightmare scene out. I also have a theory about that picture LJG posted a while ago that went viral - the one of him shirtless in bed with HS in the background. I think it may have been from when they were filming this scene, when she came upon him while he was having a nightmare, which would explain her lady's dress and why she's sort of popping up in the background...in which case there's zero guarantee of a 'bed' scene, miscarriage plot or no. I rather hope I'm wrong, since I'd like to see as much of them being happy together as possible, but the possibility did occur to me...

Here's an analysis of the poem So sent to Su I found on a Korean site:
It's a poem written by the famous Tang Dynasty poet Wang Wei (699-759)
行到水窮處, 坐看雲起時
물길이 다한 곳에 이르러 앉아서 구름이 이는 것을 보노라.
Thinking there must clearly be a large river or a lake at a waterway's source, a passerby, wanting to see that [river/lake], blindly/mindlessly began to walk and was deeply disappointed to see there was nothing but a small puddle at the waterway's end. However, though that large river or lake he had tried to find was no longer there, the water which had once flowed down that waterway rose once more to the heavens, became clouds, and returned again as rain to refill the river, so what was there to lament, he realized? In the end, since the water again becomes clouds, and the clouds again become rain, just because the water had disappeared, there was no reason to despair or sorrow.
Even if he married MuMu (the CP heh)'s daughter "My heart is unchanged and forever with you" it is a poem filled with Wang So's ardent feelings.
Although, since Hae Su came from this century...it seems she wasn't able to understand the deeper meaning contained in the the poem's lines, while tracing the letters with her complex and subtle feelings for So, she tried to control them and look at them clearly, but, in the end, seeing as she broke down in tears, it seems that she's finally realized her feelings - that she's in love with So.
(Although, personally, I actually think she's long since realized them and is holding herself back - that conversation they have in the boat about not doing what your heart longs to for fear it will make it harder to one day let go,...she could just as easily have been talking about her own feelings for So. She knows that history remembers him and not her, at the very least, so she must be anticipating she'll one day have to let him go...so he can go on to fulfill his 'destiny')
A similar scene appears in the original version. It seems like they did a good job reviving this part, so I'm glad. (does anyone know the scene being referred to?)
Essentially, the water (So's love) though it appears to be gone, has merely changed form and will return to its place again - it's constant, even when she cannot see it. So he's asking her not to lose hope or be sad, despite the way things seem.
Though I wish the calligraphy were written in a prettier hand (especially since she compliments his writing), the sentiment is lovely, and I love the fact that this was the one thing he could give her when he didn't want to give her excuses and couldn't ask her to grin and bear it,...even if she didn't quite understand what it was he was trying to say. I loved it even more when they resolved not to lie and to always be frank with each other, of course, but the fact the So, who once said to the general that he had honed his body but not yet filled his mind, made the gesture of a poem means so much. I want her to answer him with a poem of her own someday. ^ ^ I wonder if we'll get to see that..?
Anyway, that's what I found. Has anyone else heard any alternate interpretations?
